Germination
6mo ago
Kushycat Single washcloths in a bag with water in a small greenhouse with a heating mat. I'll leave them to soak at 23 degrees until tomorrow and then put them in small 0.2 liter pots with potting soil. The plan is to let them root in there for a week and then put them in the final 12.9-liter Airpot pots. Yes, there are people who advise against transplanting seedlings and recommend planting them directly into the final container. But I'll take my chances.🙏🏼

Kushycat The timing was a little optimistic for sowing. The seeds germinated after 24 hours and after another 24 hours, four of the six had poked their little heads out of the soil. I was still in the pre-Christmas rush and only had a short time, and they probably stood in the dark for a few hours too long. So far, I've had the lamp on at 20% and simply left it running 24/7. Tomorrow, I urgently need to take care of the Tuya app, which unfortunately has not been able to connect to the hortiONE lamp so far. The NYC Auto has unfortunately fallen over a bit and the stem looks slightly shriveled. Perhaps it was damaged by too much ventilation. I propped it up a bit and filled it with soil to protect the stem. I hope this hasn't stressed it too much. The Medical Mass CBD is scratching at the top layer of soil and should see the light of day tomorrow. It makes me happy to look into the tent and see the little ones! Today, they got some Clonex Pro Start in their first watering and were watered very lightly and sparingly. 12/29/2025 Accident in paradise... unfortunately, the Medical Mass died. I wanted to see why it wasn't sticking its head out of the soil, and in doing so, the seedling broke. It also looks a little strange. I put a new seed of the same variety in water. I will probably remove the Medical Mass from here and create a separate report if it germinates and grows well.🙏🏼 The lamp has been running 20 hours a day since yesterday. I was able to fix the problem with the app and connect it to the Bluetooth button.

Kushycat So, my dear plant lovers, now it gets complicated... The corkscrew seems to have been stunted in its growth even before the lamp incident. The fact that the lamp ran 24/7 for one day due to an incorrect setting was not a big deal. However, the next day, the lamp was at 100% for about 6 hours, and I think the plants all suffered damage as a result. I didn't repot the Corkscrew into an airpot as planned, but into a 2-liter fabric pot. I don't think it's developing well enough to yield much, and space in the tent is limited. Instead of the Corkscrew, I'm going to put an Orion F1 in the free airpot, but that will be a separate report. I repotted the Northern Lights, Banana, and NYC Sour in 11.9-liter air pots. Oh, I almost forgot the apple fritters. They don't look good either. Maybe they're burnt. I'll decide tomorrow or the day after whether to replace them too. I forgot to take pictures of them. I'll send them later. The apple fritter doesn't look good, so I planted it in a small pot. I think it's burnt, so I'll remove it from the report along with the corkscrew. Replacements are already on their way. See separate reports. All plants were treated with TA Silica spray yesterday during the dark phase, which is why there are gray spots on the leaves. When repotting, I noticed that I was probably too careful with the water this time, as only the upper third was really moist. If the plants don't really grow or regenerate within a few days, I will probably replace all the damaged ones. Thank you for your attention and your time. I am always grateful for tips and advice! 🍀🙏🏼🍀

Kushycat Hey, as you can see, there have been some developments. The little ones have recovered well from the incident with the lamp. The lamp is now hanging about 30 cm above them at 25% power. The issue with the app (the lamp does not turn off when it should and runs 24/7) has occurred twice more, but everything seems to be fine now. I turn on the fan 30 cm every now and then for stem training. I'm really happy and you can see that they are now really growing fast. I'll probably increase the lamp's power a little more in the next few days and then flowering should start soon. The Apple Fritter and Corkscrew didn't die after all, but as you can see, they've become little mutants, perhaps because of the accident with the light. Nevertheless, they've recovered a bit, and I've decided to let them live because they're as weird as I am and let them go their own way until the end! 16.01.2025 I ordered 1 liter of Calmag because I am now almost certain that there is a deficiency. Growth is still quite good, but there is room for improvement. I am not yet entirely sure how much light intensity is appropriate and when, and I do not want to damage it by using too much. Kushy out Praise the Tucan!

Kushycat The pre-flowering stage is visible, otherwise I have started with CalMag. It showed up much faster than expected, or rather, I had tried to regulate it elsewhere with silica and algae lime. Next week should be the first week of flowering indoors, and I will probably start with flowering fertilizer in the next few days and put the AKF with fan into operation. Meanwhile, it's like the tropics in the tent, and I can't have that during flowering. The NYC is curling its leaves a bit, but I don't think it's overfed; it's also causing me some concern.🙏🏼 The FatBanana and Northern Lights are doing really well!🍀 Surprisingly, the AppleFritter and Corkscrew with the light damage have done quite well in the last few days, and I'm taking them with me to the end of my first trip.🌞 They are now getting more light because I have increased the lamps to 30% power. I will now increase the power between 5-10 every 4-7 days so that there are thick flowers at the end.

Kushycat So, we are officially in the cannabis flowering season with all candidates involved. I think I overdid it a bit with the fertilizer on the NYC and forgot that the soil I used was already rich. I cleaned the inside of the tent and wiped the water off the walls because the humidity was at 85%. I bought a small dehumidifier and think I can use it to bring the humidity down to around 50%. Did a bit of LST and removed some leaves on the NYC. Lamp output will be at 40% from tomorrow. Now trying to get up to at least 60% more quickly—if in doubt, with more distance. After all, I want plump flowers. Gave them flowering fertilizer for the first time, and the Apple Fritter seems to be struggling. Corkscrew is a mini plant but vital and sweet.🙏🏼 The temperature at night is too low for me. I'll turn the heating up a little higher at night and put some foam under the tent's tarpaulin for insulation. I hope this will keep the temperature around 20 degrees. As always, feel free to comment with anything you notice or any tips. 🌞

Kushycat Dumdidum, everything is going as hoped here too. I have RLF well under control with regular ventilation and a dehumidifier. In future, I will assess the plants under daylight rather than under the lights. They look good, except for the apple fritter, which has now shed almost all its leaves. I can't bring myself to bury it. The corkscrew is small and cute, but seems to have wanted to produce a male bag (see picture, please confirm). It will remain under close observation. One more thing like that and it's solitary confinement! Otherwise, I'm happy. I'd like a little more stretch, but we'll see. After watering, the RH goes up to about 60% +- that's okay, right? I water according to pot weight and visual check. Yesterday I finally calibrated my pH meter and was horrified when I measured the tap water at pH 8.5... no mistake possible as it was a fresh 2-point calibration. After preparing the fertilizer solution, I ended up with 6.7, see picture. The soil seems to be extremely good if it can buffer what I gave it before. I'm not sure yet whether to mix with rainwater to adjust the pH even better or order pH up and down. Luckily, I bought algae lime some time ago and have experimented with it a bit.

Kushycat The problems with the initially very high pH, which was not measured in good faith, are now having a major impact. Everything is speculative at this point, but the damage is there and clearly visible. I flushed yesterday. The pictures are from a few days ago; now they are much yellower and necrotic/falling off and curling up. I hope things will improve again. For now, I'm only giving them water and at most a few amino acids in very small doses. Otherwise, I'm open to any tips. The cat is sad and demotivated, but I tell them that I love them and that everything will be fine. I hope they feel the positive vibrations. It's not a total loss, but I'm really annoyed with myself. I'm always so overly emotional ^^

Kushycat Unfortunately, I have to show you some really bad pictures. It hurts my little heart when I look inside the tent. Fertilizer damage + pH damage + fan damage. They were rinsed again. I hope to be able to prolong their death a little. 🤣 Well, I think you should also show when something goes completely wrong, and in hindsight, after I recognized the mistakes, I can only shake my head at myself. I hung the lamp and fan higher up and adjusted the lighting time to 18 hours so that they have a little more time to regenerate at night. Keep your fingers crossed for me. When searching for errors, in addition to the things already mentioned that were/are obvious, I found the following: The fan 30 was set to level 1 the whole time, but it was blowing much too hard, so they also had windburn. It's a miracle they're still alive, and I think they only do it out of pity because nothing is funny right now anyway.

Kushycat Haha, they're still alive, and the buds are getting plumper and new pistils are growing. Those declared dead live longer, and so I'm totally amazed that they're still going to reward me with sticky buds. The leaf mass is so small, I have no idea how it's possible, but I'm going to get them to the finish line. Probably one last small dose of bloom and maybe a little booster, and then that's it. I don't think I'll feed the NYC anymore, but it's also producing new pistils, so I'll take a look tomorrow and decide then. I removed dead and severely necrotic leaves that could be plucked off. The lamp is at 65% and will remain at that power, but maybe 5-10 cm closer to the finish.

Kushycat They’re still hanging in there and growing despite the fact that, as I’ve mentioned so many times before, there aren’t many leaves left, etc. I fertilized the Fat Banana, NL, Mini Corkscrew, and Mini AppleFritter. The NYC only received pH-adjusted water with Calmag, Activera, and Bioheaven. It was resilient and still produced a decent amount of sugar, which I hadn’t expected. It will likely be harvested in 1–2 weeks. When I water it next, I’ll definitely only use water with a pH of 6.5. With the NL, unfortunately, a branch broke off almost completely because I messed up, as I so often do. I supported it as quickly as possible and patched it up with a hydro-bandage, but I think since it was almost completely severed, no more nutrients will flow through it. If it wilts in the next 2–3 days, I’ll use it for a pre-tasting.

Kushycat The Fat Banana and the NL will stay in place a little longer until harvest. The Fat Banana has received its final dose of bloom fertilizer. From now on, it’s just Aminos Acti-Vera and CalMag, just like the NL. Today while watering—and without the terpene-dominant NYC—I noticed that the Fat Banana smells like ripe fruit. They’ll probably be harvested after Easter.

It had some initial growing pains and stayed in bonsai mode, but it fought through it bravely and produced a few purple, resinous flowers. The high is really hard to describe. The manufacturer describes the aroma as pineapple, sweet, and citrusy. I can’t really smell any of that—maybe a hint of pineapple, but not peeled, more like standing in front of the produce section at the supermarket. I think there’s a slight cork-like smell in there, like when we have some in the oven at work, but it’s not unpleasant.

Of all the plants I've grown so far, this one had the most dominant scent—sour with a strong fuel-like note. When I rubbed the stem a little, a subtle citrus note came through. I'm curious to see what's left after drying and how it tastes in the end.

Kushycat No more bloom fertilizer—just CalMag and supplements. I plan to harvest the Banana on Sunday. The Northern Lights has clearly sprouted new pistils on the side shoots over the last few days. No idea where this growth spurt is coming from now, but I’ll let them keep going for a bit. I was hoping to coax a little more purple out of the Northern Lights, but the last few days have been quite warm, so it’s hard to get the room temperature below 18 degrees at night.

Kushycat This journey has come to an end as well, and all that’s left is the NL in the tent, which is scheduled to be harvested next week. I think that, without all the mistakes, this is a tasty and high-yielding strain, though it takes longer to mature than the breeder’s estimates suggest.

I'm satisfied so far. She had a few small pollen sacs and seems to have produced some seeds. But I assume, just like with the other plants, it was mainly due to all the stress. Although, unfortunately, that's not uncommon with autoflowering plants. I really like the color—it's developed into a beautiful purple.

Kushycat The journey has come to an end—and with a happy ending, too. Almost no leaves, but with stinky resin and nice and sticky. To be honest, I didn’t check the trichomes; instead, I went by the age and the dark-colored pistils, but I don’t think I harvested too early by any means.

I'm not sure if the NYC will survive the entire flowering period that is still to come, but I'll leave it standing as long as possible. @Kushycat 99% is insane! You've practically grown everything we have! 😎. Keep pushing for that Master Grower status; the view from the top is definitely worth it!!!!

@James, Oh, that was a translation error—I haven't covered 99% of your repertoire, and now I'm going to be unfaithful for a bit 😛

@Kushycat, Noo! haha, translation error or not, you've got a great taste!😉 Good luck with your next grow!!

Hopefully your plants recover from the lighting 🙏 It’s hard to decide what the intensity of the lighting should be and the distance to the plant. New parameters that weren’t important while growing outside. I hope you have a steep learning curve for this indoor grow, just like me 😉😅

@India_Calcoen, Yes, that's right, it warms the heart! I think they coped quite well with the move, and today I noticed some growth again. The banana plant in particular is doing well, which makes me really happy. 🙏🏼

@Kushycat, good to see the progress your plants are making! I think they will be fine 👍💪
Kushycat
Kushycat commented5mo ago
@India_Calcoen, they behave like bamboo when growing, but I see some things that I don't like so much. I'll keep an eye on it and take preventive countermeasures.🙏🏼

Yay 🙌 finally I get to see your little babies 🌱🌱🌱💚❤️ I also bought a Mighty a few weeks ago. I really love it! Especially when I need a quick relief, it works faster than oils and tinctures. Hopefully you will have some time now to get your lights going the way you want to.

@India_Calcoen, oh yes, it's so nice to be able to watch them grow. I open the tent several times a day and imagine that I can see a little progress each time. I can definitely recommend a water cooler for the Mighty. It makes it even more fun to use and tastes even better in my opinion.😁🚀
India_Calcoen
India_Calcoen commented6mo ago
@Kushycat, the water cooler is a good idea 👍 I think I will try that. Some strains are a bit harsh on my throat, but I like their physical effects (like MilkyWay F1).
Kushycat
Kushycat commented6mo ago
@India_Calcoen, That's also why I put this together. It was just too harsh on my lungs without the bong to cool it down. I also bought a diffuser that makes it even better, and the vapor is more abundant and stronger, which always looks nice and smells good in the house. I also grew F1 from RQS in the summer, and they taste fantastic with it, but they have a really strong effect. I've seen some new ones with banana flavor that I definitely have to grow. 😁😹

Set EC and pH runoff targets. After the flush you did, you need to monitor it. Did you use any cleaning solution? What are your pH and EC runoff levels? In the third week of flowering, my target pH runoff is around 5.9 to 6.3 using coco, which is within acceptable limits. More details would be helpful.

Kushycat commented4mo ago
@Bncgrower, Unfortunately, I don't have an EC meter yet. I didn't actually measure the runoff or think about it. I didn't use any additives for the flush. I used stale tap water adjusted to a pH of 6.5 with citric acid. Of course, not much has changed today except that it has predictably gotten worse. I'll take a look at it tomorrow, and if there's no improvement in sight, I'll rinse again and measure the runoff this time. Thank you for your help/attention!

@PersonalSmok3s, They're even more colorful in natural light. I've borrowed my brother's digital camera and hope I'll be able to take better pictures with it in the future. 🙏🏼

“Well bro, I wish you good luck, but it’s not looking good 😥 That’s exactly why I switched to BioTabs 🤷🏽‍♂️ Always messing with pH and EC, and one small mistake can cost you everything 🤷🏽‍♂️”
Kushycat
Kushycat commented4mo ago
@Mr_Juice, Thanks for the kind words. Yes, that's probably true, but that's how it is now, and I'm trying to make the best of it. In the worst case, I'll freeze it and make hashish. Have fun on your adventures!

@Sour_D, thx yeah, I think a few will. The flush helped a little. Now I just hope that I don't lose many more leaves and that they hold out a little longer.🙏🏼🍀
