SpliffyRand Day 0 - Germination
After trying out Mephisto in the last run, their genetics already got me hooked. Out of the three different strains I grew, I liked 505 Headbanger the most. Good yield, good effect and a beautiful lime green appearance. This round is going to be hands off again, following more or less the same strategy as before.
Things I changed:
-First time using Plagron instead of BioBizz soil
-3 plants instead of 4
-Only one strain - 505 Headbanger
-Using Mycotrex and Bactrex when germinating
-Starting germinating with Farmer Hat Beards mud pie method

SpliffyRand Day 1 - There is life
After 4 days of germinating, all Headbangers popped. I will keep the humidity domes on them until the seedlings are getting too big. For extra humidty I added a wet towel to the tent.

SpliffyRand Day 8 – Second pair of leaves
After a few days, I removed the humidity domes and transitioned into a light, regular watering schedule. The seedlings are currently receiving approximately 330 ml of fresh water every two to three days, supplemented with 1 ml/L BioBizz BioGrow and 0.15 g/L Epsom salt. In addition, two BioTabs per pot have already been applied so I dont run into deficiencies again. On day 8, the SANlight EVO was increased to 30 % output, which corresponds to approximately 18 DLI in my setup, calculated by using SANlights documentation and tests (https://www.sanlight.com/news/par-test-und-ppfd-plots-der-sanlight-evo-serie/)

SpliffyRand Day 15 - Seedling Stage Finished
Today, on day 15, I’m happy to see the plants thriving. The only thing I don’t particularly like right now is the dry environment. The VPD is far from optimal at this stage, but since I’m not using a humidifier, there’s nothing I can do about it for now. Nevertheless, the plants look vital and are continuing to grow.
Compared to last week, growth is good, and when comparing to my previous grow, this strain behaves more or less the same this round. I’m happy, the plants are happy, so I’ll just let them do their thing for now.
The only change today was increasing the light distance to 40 cm and raising the SANlight output to 40 %, which corresponds to approximately 24.3 DLI in my setup. The pots are still very heavy, so I won’t water them for a few days. Once they start drinking more, I will gradually increase the amount of water applied per irrigation. My goal is to reach about 1 liter per day by day 30, at which point I can install the Blumat drip system.

SpliffyRand Day 22 - Early Vegetation Finished
This week was all about stabilization. From now on, the plants are completely stable and should really start boosting their growth. When comparing them, they look very uniform overall.
They are getting thirstier every day and can already drink about half a liter per plant daily. It’s time to increase the supply, so the next step will be raising the amount to 750 ml per watering. As soon as they can consume this volume within two days, I will increase it to 1 liter. After that, it will be time to install the Blumat carrots.
I also need to order some beneficial mites soon, just as a preventative measure.
What I’ve especially noticed this week is the beautiful green leaf color. The plants are neither too dark nor too bright, which confirms that adding two BioTabs in week 2 was the right decision. I originally planned to add another BioTab on day 21. I’m not fully sure yet if I should do that right now but we’ll see how they continue to develop.
Next steps:
Increase water supply
Install Blumat system
Possibly add another BioTab

SpliffyRand Day 29 - Full Stretch / Hands Off
Today, on day 29, I installed the Blumat carrots and activated the drip irrigation system. Over the past week, I watered the plants twice manually. First with 750 ml per plant, followed by a full 1 liter per plant two days later. Since this point was planned as the transition to automated irrigation, it was the perfect moment to start the dripping system.
From now on, everything is mainly about monitoring. The only remaining manual tasks are adjusting the LED height and intensity from time to time and regularly inspecting overall plant health. As I also applied predatory mites prophylactically this week and the BioTabs appear to be providing sufficient nutrition, there is very little left to intervene with. At this point, the grow has essentially entered cruise control, with harvest expected in roughly 55 days. Another adjustment this week was increasing the light intensity from 40 % to 50 %.
The only aspect I am not entirely happy with is the VPD. The environment has been quite dry over the last weeks, which resulted in a more compact growth pattern. However, I don’t want to stress about this too much. The stretch phase has only just started, and when comparing this run to the last time I grew this strain, the plants are performing very well overall.
Let’s see how they develop over the next week.
Next steps:
Possibly add another BioTab
Raising the LED to 60%

SpliffyRand Day 36 - Final Stretch
This week the plants really pushed their growth, stretching about 20 cm within just one week. Besides monitoring their height and adjusting the LED distance to the canopy, as well as increasing the light intensity from 50 % to 60 %, there was nothing else to do except refilling the reservoir from time to time.
No pH adjustment, no liquid fertilizer. Just plain tap water mixed with 0.15 g of Epsom salt per liter. The plants seem to respond extremely well to this approach, as they show no signs of deficiency at all. I’m very happy with how smoothly this run has been progressing so far. For now, I won’t change a thing and will continue with monitoring only.
We have officially reached the final stage of the stretch phase. Once the remaining stretch finishes within the next week, the focus will shift entirely toward bud development and stacking.
Next steps:
Raising the LED to 70%

SpliffyRand Day 43 - Full Bloom
The plants gained a little more height this week, but it looks like they are now transitioning fully into the bloom phase. The tallest plant, plant #3, stretched another 14 cm, while the other two have already shifted their focus more toward bud development and stayed slightly shorter. Because of this height difference, I had to tilt the LED slightly to keep the canopy evenly lit.
Interestingly, I notice this pattern almost every grow: The tallest plants tend to be in the back right of the tent, while the smaller ones usually end up in the front.
Besides monitoring and adjusting the LED height and tilt, I reorganized the plants slightly by spacing the two larger ones a bit further apart to improve overall light penetration. If the stretch really comes to an end now, this will likely be the final rearrangement.
Since I can’t see any signs of deficiency, I will continue letting the system run as it is. No adjustments needed. The coming week will once again be all about monitoring. It really feels like I have found my personal “hands-off recipe” this run. Adding the BioTabs earlier, supplementing Epsom salt, and using predatory mites made a noticeable difference.
That said, there are still around 4 or 5 weeks to go.
Next steps:
Continue monitoring only

Danke dir :)
