Bauer420 26.12 The Gelato is under 65% light output while the Ultra Violet GMO enjoys about 85%. The Gelato is clearly stressed. But it was recognized and adjusted early on.

Bauer420 Last week there was a brew made from potato and banana peels. In addition to the normal fertilizing. Values are slightly adjusted; the Ultra Violet GMO seems to require less nitrogen than the Gelato. This has already been noticed in previous grows. The autumn coloring of the Ultra Violet GMO is to die for. During the summer run 24, it only showed its purple traits at the end of the last flowering week (10fw) in summer temperatures. Here, thanks to the nighttime temperatures of up to 18°C. In the 7fw, just like before, the specifications from Growerschoice with an 8th week flowering time will not be sufficient. Right now, it's doing well. And soon it will be on par with the Gelato. Here, patience is key and not boosting too quickly. The Gelato is thriving, but almost all trichomes are milky now, so it's daily monitoring, but it should definitely break through in week 9.

It's the beginning of the last week. From now on, she's getting pure spring water. As predicted, she's doing a bit over 9W of flowering. (Bt 59) The Ultra Violet GMO will probably continue for another 2 weeks, so 2 more waterings with nutrients. So far, 4 liters have been watered every 2-3 days!, and then it's the same treatment. Bio grow has already been reduced to half of the schedule for both, and there are still no signs of deficiency. Although the Gelato shows signs of an impending magnesium deficiency, no adjustments need to be made at this stage. This way, the roast won't get any fatter ✌️

Bauer420 Ultra Violet GMO by Growers Choice Rating: What an absolute eye-catcher! By the end of the flowering stage, exactly what many growers dream of with this strain has come to fruition: this magical autumn color play with rich violet and purple tones in the buds, combined with an almost exaggerated thick, frosty resin layer. The trichomes shine like a sugar coating, and the purple coloration comes through intensely – this is definitely one of the most photogenic phenotypes you can get from Ultra Violet GMO. Many growers have to really stress them with cold temperatures (lower night temps) to bring out the purple so strongly! Here it's just under 17°C. Visually an absolute highlight, 8/10 Resin Production & Trichomes: 9.5/10 “A resin coverage that is unmatched” This strain is known for producing really fat, resin-dripping buds: thick, sticky trichomes everywhere, almost overloaded. It smells and feels like really high-quality, resin-heavy stuff. Aroma & Flavor: 8–9/10 Here it gets interesting: sour, diesel-like, garlicky, with a hint of sweet fruity notes in the background, and kushy undertones to boot. In short: A strain that is visually and resin-wise hard to top, a real show-off bud with a knockout effect.

Bauer420 Gelato by Zamnesia Rating: In the same tent, under exactly the same conditions (light, temperature, watering), with just a slightly adjusted feeding schedule, the Gelato ran parallel to the Ultra Violet GMO. Despite initial hermaphrodite issues (a few bananas and sacs early in week 4, which I removed immediately), it recovered super well and ended up producing a really solid, multi-headed heavyweight bush. Yield / Wet weight: 245 g (single plant, topped & LST) That's a damn good result for the conditions and after the early stress episodes. The structure was compact-bushy (typical for Zamnesia's Gelato genetics: Wedding Cake × Gelato × Gelato #33 influence), with several thick main colas and many side buds that really bulked up. Not a giant like some hybrids, but efficient and densely packed. Appearance: 7/10 By the end of flowering, the beautiful red/orange pistils/stigmas really stood out, creating a warm, autumnal contrast to the dark green buds. The flowers developed into fat nuggets, with some purple undertones on the sugar leaves (not as dramatic as with the UV-GMO, but noticeable). The resin layer is impressive, though not quite the insane "snowstorm" coverage like the Ultra Violet GMO, but still really frosty and sticky. Trichomes everywhere, especially on the calyxes and surrounding leaves. Resin production & Trichomes: 7/10 Despite the early hermie stress phase, it produced a strong amount of resin. The buds feel heavy and resinous, fingers stick to them. Not quite at the extreme level of the UV-GMO (that was really next level), but for a Gelato under standard conditions, top-notch – and especially evenly distributed across the entire plant. Aroma & Flavor: 6/10 Even during drying, this classic Gelato sweetness comes through: creamy-sweet, with vanilla, citrus, a bit of berries, and an earthy background. When smoked, it’s smooth, creamy-fruity with vanilla and lemon notes. Very pleasant, not aggressive, one of the tasty strains in the grow. Overall impression: 7/10 Despite the initial hermaphrodite challenges, Gelato proved why it’s so popular: stable bush, hefty yield for the size, beautiful red pistils at the end, creamy resin layer, and that iconic dessert flavor. In direct comparison to the Ultra Violet GMO, it was a bit more "civilized" in terms of resin and color, but perhaps even a touch more accessible and smoother in flavor. In short: A creamy, frosty dessert hybrid with great appearance, solid yield, and super pleasant high despite a few small hurdles, a complete success.
