Hey. Your buds are full of resin. Well done. In my opinion, it must be this. Looking at your photos, I understand your perplexity. Your parameters (24Β°C, 53% RH) are good, the VPD is correct for this flowering stage, and the plant looks visually healthy.
So, why are those leaves curling up like a "boat" (canoeing) or an "eagle's claw"? In my opinion, itβs one of these three possible scenarios:
1. "Genetic Saturation" (Most Likely)
This is the downside of such resin production.
The problem: When a strain is genetically pushed to produce so many trichomes on the sugar leaves, it alters their physical structure. The thousands of trichomes on the upper face exert tension on the leaf. Additionally, the layer of "frost" can slightly obstruct normal transpiration through the upper face.
The result: To protect itself and try to regulate its internal humidity, the leaf curls to reduce its surface area exposure and retain moisture in the created hollow. Itβs a defensive behavior related to its own excessive production.
2. "Hidden" Light Stress
Even at 24Β°C, if your LED lights are very powerful and too close to the canopy, you might have light stress.
The problem: The light intensity (PPFD) is too strong at the top. The leaf isnβt "burned" by heat, but itβs saturated with light and canβt process it all anymore.
The result: The leaf curls to try to offer less angle to the light source, as if to "take cover." If the edges are slightly yellow in your original profile photos, thatβs a clear sign of light stress.
3. Micro-Air Current (Ventilation)
The problem: If a fan is blowing directly and constantly on a part of the plant, it dries out the air just around those leaves much more than the 53% in the tent.
The result: The leaf curls to stop this forced evaporation.
My Verdict and Advice:
If itβs just a "strange behavior" and you donβt see any spots, rapid yellowing, or browning buds, donβt change anything. Itβs the price to pay for having such a frosty strain.
However, as a precaution, do this check:
Check the light distance: Try raising it by 10-15 cm just to see if that resolves the curling in 48 hours. If so, it was slight light stress.
Make sure the fans are oscillating and not blowing "directly" on those buds.
In summary: Itβs very likely a "professional deformation" of your strain. Itβs too busy making resin to have flat leaves! I hope I could help you, but giving a precise diagnosis is difficult like this. Have a great day!
