kohlrabi In the last grow of 2025, photo plants will be used again, but so that I don't have to wait so long, this time only ‘fast’ versions are in the selection. Both varieties have a specified flowering time of 7 weeks.
In the last grow, I used my homemade irrigation system for the first time, and since it worked excellently and I had no irrigation problems whatsoever for the entire time, I will use it again in this grow.
And what else has proven itself? The Biotabs fertiliser system. This time, I'm again using the full programme for the ‘Just Add Water’ strategy.
I soaked the seed in distilled water with a touch of humic acid for 24 hours. It then germinated in a Root Riot cube within 4 days. As I still wanted to clean my grow tent, I didn't plant the seedlings in their final pots straight away, but put them in small pots first. This worked well this time – in the past, it wasn't always possible for me to water them properly this way.

kohlrabi The end of the year was more than exhausting, especially mentally, and we have cut back on our cannabis consumption a little to have enough energy and clarity for the challenges ahead. That's why there are only two plants in the grow tent this time instead of three. I hope this will allow me to take better care of each of the ladies. It also gives them more space at the end of the grow.
At the end of the first week, I transplanted the seedlings into their final pots. There they also have the usual Bio Tabs ingredients: Startrex, Silicium Flash, and Mycotex directly on the roots. I added Bactrex to the first thorough watering. And of course - two bio tabs per pot.
In my last grow, I used recycled soil that I prepared with a lot of effort, but it turned out to be a lot of extra work, because it contained all kinds of seeds and animals. This time, new soil with pumice. I will use recycled soil in the garden, but not again in the box.
So far, so good.

kohlrabi I'm quite behind. My husband is ill and has been in hospital for a long time, so I have to manage everything at home on my own. Not so easy with two children. Please forgive me if I don't write here on time for the time being. I'll catch up on everything eventually.
The plant is growing really well – in stark contrast to the plant next to it, which was grown in exactly the same way. Unfortunately, I had another big problem with fungus gnats, which I managed to get under control with nematodes.

kohlrabi Unfortunately, I missed a week. As I said, things were chaotic at home – I can't be too hard on myself for that. But it is a bit of a shame. At least this Sunset Sherbet didn't suffer too much – although the first signs of light stress are starting to show. In my stress, I didn't notice that at the time.

kohlrabi After I turned down the light intensity, this plant also looked a bit better. In one of the pictures, you can still see traces of burns, probably caused by water droplets on the leaf.
I topped the lady and started with LST. To prevent her from growing too large, I will have to make the switch soon.

kohlrabi The plant is growing strong and big, and it might have been advisable to switch the lightening a little earlier. Let's hope the stretch doesn't get too wild.
My husband is still in hospital and everything that isn't essential to running the household is on the back burner. Luckily, I have automatic watering via wick, otherwise the poor plants would surely have died by now.
This week, I treated her to some BoomBoom spray and today I switched the the lighting to 12/12 to initiate the flowering phase.

kohlrabi Day 50. I finally got around to choose Lego for the two plants. Otherwise, a pleasantly uneventful week.

kohlrabi Once again a very short update: The plants look good. Even though I switched the light 9 days ago, no sight of flowering yet. That's fine, girls, take your time.

kohlrabi It's day 64 and the plant is exactly 64 cm tall. What is the universe trying to tell me? ;-)
The flowering phase has finally begun. The plants are developing magnificently, so I felt like doing a little beautification work, or more precisely, kneading.
Other than that, I only gave them water; everything else is already in the soil.

kohlrabi The flowering stage is well advanced since last week. Our lady is getting closer to the lamp, and I may soon have to think of something. Fortunately, the plant has almost stopped growing in height.
I wonder how it worked out last time with three plants in the grow box; it's already full now.
Other than taking these few photos, I have done nothing but make sure that the water reservoir does not empty.
kohlrabi Some of the lower and middle leaves have started to turn yellow – and there are also some dried-out tips at the top. So it seems that the last week wasn’t quite as uneventful as I’d thought. Perhaps it didn’t get enough water at some point? I’ve added a little more fertiliser and am now keeping a closer eye on the watering.
I’m now leaving the affected leaves to dry on the plant. Otherwise, the flowers are coming along nicely.

kohlrabi I suppose I have to admit that this self-watering system isn’t working as well as I’d hoped. Or rather – if I’d looked after it properly, the results would certainly have been good. Unfortunately, I haven’t cleaned the reservoir once in the past few weeks. I’m afraid the water in there has gone off – the roots that have pushed through the bottom holes of the pot have turned dark, and there was obviously a more serious watering problem at some point.
That’s the time where a certain friend of mine will try to persuade me to get some Autopots. Maybe I’ll do that. But I’d have to look after those properly too. One difference from my low-tech system here is that the water reservoir of the AutoPots isn’t open. That means there’s less algae growth, I’m sure. But still – it always comes down to the fact that I can’t currently devote enough time to looking after the plants. Please bear with me a little longer; better times are coming.
I skipped a week because there was nothing to report – and I didn’t have the time. And not Lego, either... My apologies!

kohlrabi Week 17, Day 113. I’m just not cut out for photo-plants. I don’t have nearly enough patience – not even for the ‘fast’ versions. But the plants are nearing the end, at least.
I was still dealing with the dry leaves, but there were no new ones. The trichomes are looking pretty good already and the smell is quite strong.
@MonyetDiablero, it's getting better, at least. Or let's say: It's fine at home, but it takes a lot of energy to be so, that's why there's not much left for hobbies. Thank you for your wishes! I hope you are fine, too, and will try to be more present soon. Starting from February, it should be easier again.
@kohlrabi, best wishes for your family at home ! Just take care of your own and your family , GD can wait , most important thing in world is health . As soon as everything is stable then your will get a energy boost 💚
@MonyetDiablero, thank you so much! Your comments keep me going, even if time is short. But the weather is getting nicer here in Berlin and this changes quite a bit about my energy. I hope you and your familiy are doing fine!
Thank you for making our newest 2025 release, Sunsent Sherbert Go Fast, the star of this Kannabia adventure! We hope you and her make an unbeatable team and achieve incredible results. 💪🧡
We’re sending you our strongest orange vibes to help make it happen.
Enjoy every moment of the journey! 🚀🌿
