Hi guys! This is my second grow, first grow diary. I have 3 seeds (2 blue dream from humbolt, 1 Lsd from barneys farm) that i have planted in 3 small pots, that are made from organic materiale so i don't have to take the seedling out of the pot. I used normal potting soil which i pre-watered before putting the seed in the soil. I chose to germinate directly in the soil because it worked the last time. I plan to transplant 1 blue dream and 1 Lsd into 10 gallon pots and then start them in a greenhouse and then transfer them outside once the weather gets better. The last blue dream plant i will transplant into capilary box which is a self-watering system. This will stay in the greenhouse for the entire grow. It is pretty much an experiment. I would love to get some advice on the fertilizer i bought for the veg stage. It is a normal fertilizer bought in a gardening store. The NPK ratio is the closest i could find to a fertilizer made for cannabis. There is a picture of the contents. Do u think it is Good enough?

Okay so week 3 is going okay so far. 2 of the seedling are doing great. But the third hasn't been growing for a week and one of the leaves have wilted away. Found out that the soil it's been growing in is too lumpy, so the seedling has rooted in one lump of soil and not the entire pot. Decided therefore to transplant it to a new small pot with better soil. Hopefully it will survive.

At day 22 i choose to transplant 2 of the seedlings, as one of them had a leaf that started to wilt. I think the cause was dehydration. The blue dream #2 has recovered quite well and has started to grow again. I will be transplanting it this weekend. Day 24. Now the LSD plant has a wilting leaf so i have to up the amount of water. I could see that both plants in pots, wasn't getting enough water as they looked quite droopy. I am not quite sure if i should trim the wilting leaves.

Hey there, you're actually overwatering ! You can tell from the puffy leafs and the downwards drooping you're seeing. You shouldnt be watering daily, you need to wait a few days between each watering for the soil to get dry. That's because the wet/dry cycle is really important for the microbiol life in the soil. At your size pot you should water less than 2L ever 3 to 4 days. There are a few way you can use to see if you need to water : the lifting method or the hygrometer method. Just get a cheap hygrometer, stick it in the soil, and it gives you a reading. Otherwise lift your pots when they are dry then water them, lift them again make a note of the weights and use those to tell if you need to water or not. If you use these methods you will never over water again. Hope this helps ! 🚀

Day 29: after i took all of u guys advice, i stopped watering for 4 days and waited until the soil was dry. It helped a lot as u can see in the pictures. So thank u guys! I transplanted the blue dream #2 plant to a self-watering box as an experiment. The other 2 plants has recovered well and the leaf damage has not spread. They don't look droopy anymore and is nice in color. I only watered them with 1 liter this time. I will be starting with fertilizer next time they need water.

So a week has gone by since last update. The ladies looks healthy and are growing fast. The 2 plants in pots have grown 10-15 centimeters in a week. The last plant looks healthy but it's growth is stunted because of the soil problem early in it's life. It's almost like a miniature blue dream plant. So this week i have started with the fertilizer. I have also topped the 2 big plants and are looking forward to see how they respond to it.

7 days have gone by and all 3 plants are growing like crazy. It looks like they have responded well to the fertilizer. They look great after the first topping, so i decided to top a second time. I have also started the LST training. It's my first time doing LST, how do u guys think it looks? Sadly i overbent one of the stems, so hopefully it will recover with tape and support. The 3rd plant, blue dream #2, is growing extremely fast and it has almost caught up with the other 2. I have topped it for the first time.

Week 8: the plants has responded great to the LST training. They look healthy and are growing fast. And today i have applied LST training to the blue dream #2 and I have also topped it a second time. There hasn't been much change since last update. They are still growing nicely and I don't have any major problems. I did notice some curled and paper like leaf tips, but I suspect it's either over watering or too much fertilizer. So il'l hold back a bit the next few days

So this week is kind of a mixed bag. While the blue dream#2 is looking extraordenary and is probably going to yield big time. The LSD and blue dream #1 are seriously underwatered. What i thought was overwatering turned out to be underwatering. I don't know if the blue dream #1 is going to survive, but the LSD is already looking better after i watered it.

They are definitely looking thirsty as hell brother so I'd say yes mine have looked a little like that before same deal..simple consistency no water unless she is dry about 2 inches deep on too of soil ... Try watering same time everyday to if you can and to ensure no overwatering throw 1inch stone on bottom of pot before you plant that ensure drainage as well ... I think you'll nail it down very quickly ..hope this helps a little ..cheers from Canada ..

This week has been great! Both the blue dream #1 and the LSD has recovered great from my watering mistake. They are a bit stretchy but I couldn't expect anything else. The blue dream #1 was the most damaged, but I have only cut a bit of one the branches. The blue dream#2 is gigantic now. It's almost 180 cm tall 150 cm wide.

This week things are looking great. All the plants are stretching right as they have entered pre-flowering. Blue dream #2 has some yellowing leaves, but I think it's a bit of underwatering and not enough nutrients. The LSD plant is too stretchy and it's probably because of not enough sun light, but I don't have space to move it in the greenhouse. So it's gonna be what it's gonna be

The Blue dream#2 has now reached ceiling of the greenhouse. Hopefully it won't grow that much higher. It had a lot of wiltering and yellowing leaves at the bottom, i think it's just natural but I will watch closely. The other 2 plants look fine. The LSD is really stringy because of the blue dream#2 blocking the sun. The blue dream #1 is doing just fine. Apearently i thought the plants were flowering but not yet. There cant be much longer.

Where abouts in the world are you? If Scandinavia you will be wasting your time with Blue Dream. Will require good amounts of light & heat in the right quantity! Going by the height of your ladies you may need to remove the roof panels on your greenhouse. Hope this helps.

This week has pretty much been like last week. Im still having trouble with the old and big fan leaves yellowing and having burnt tips on the blue dream#2. It's mostly the bottom of the plant. I suspect a nitrogen defiency. Otherwise it's looking great and now there are more pistils at the nodes. The 2 plants in pots are looking the same

I have problems wth my old leaves yellowing and having burnt tips. I have tried to add some more nutrients, I only have normal fertilizer and i don't think it has enough nitrogen. So is it nitrogen defiency that is problem? And what can i buy in a gardening store to help it?

You have no problem. The lower leaves on your plant are not receiving enough light to stay green. And it's normal your older leaves will eventually die off getting yellow first. now I do see a plant in there that's starving for nitrogen. It's hard to see look to be centralized. Remember every plant is different and will feed deferent. Good luck 👍

So this week i added some more nutrients to the girls, to see if it would fix my yellow leaves. It has fixed it to a degree, so now the rest of the yellowing leaves must be natural causes. The girls have now entered flowering and I see more and more pistils popping up. So excited!

So the girls have really begun to develop a lot of pistils. It seem like the LSD and blue dream #1 are further into flowering, than the big blue dream #2. I am wondering if thats normal? Like is it normal that bigger plants take longer to flower? The LSD looks a bit manglede because it did stand close to sidewall of the greenhouse. I have now moved every thing around a bit, so it has more space and height.

All the plants are going strong. I still have problems with some of the tops touching the glass and that causes them to rot, because of all the moisture. I have tried to tie them down and move them around, so we will see.

You can add a bunch of fans in greenhouse. You need alot of air moving and circulating. Heavy defoliation will help. An exhaust with fresh air coming in. Dehumidifier will be your last option. Don’t allow buds to sit in damp or overly humid conditions for long. Protect your plants from rain and shake them if you notice they’re wet from rain or covered with dew. Carefully remove and discard any and all buds that have possibly been affected by bud rot. Don’t let any rot touch other parts of your plant. This helps prevent bud rot from spreading, but it’s not enough if you don’t take care of the environment. Remember, the spores are always around, and it’s just a matter of whether they get the right conditions to grow.

So today was a sad day. I had to cut half of the blue dream #1 down because of bud rot. I have removed all of it but if it comes back i will scrap the whole plant. I appriciate the answers on my latest grow question, but I can't do anything about the growing conditions because it is not my greenhouse. Hopefully it will work out

Get a good fine mist sprayer and start with a 1/4 strength nutrients with basic macro and micro elements foliage spray that girl. You can add a 1/4 teaspoon per gallon/water of unscented dish soap as a spreader/sticker so it won't just bead up and roll off the leaves. Try to spray under her leaves just before sun up so the stoma under the leaves are open. This is the best way to try to get her to green up if there are any root issues. Spray her every 5 or 6 days if it looks like shes handling it well. Just try to avoid spraying her in direct sunlight so the leaves don't burn.

All IMHO You need to spend some time looking at successful grows here and see what is being done. I dont give a plant water until the pot is light and I mean light, this will be right before it is drought stressed. This avoids the far worse stress of over watering. If you look around you will see most 3 gallon pots are only getting water at a rate of about 1-2 liter a day in full flower ( watered only every two to four days ). Overwatering is caused more by giving water TOO OFTEN not too much.

Don't worry about that. Worry about why they are burnt. I really hope that the 8 liters of water every 24 hours is some kind of tippo or mistake, else those poor seedlings are drowning. Also, worry about those temperatures. Those temperatures below 10°C (50°F) can kill the plants. Actually the leave damage might be due low temperatures.

Hey there hope I answered your question ! Check this out for the bag lifting method : www.youtube.com/watch do this and the problem should stop spreading. The burnt spots on the leafs is either from pH fluctuations due to overwatering or from the sun because the plants had water on them which made a kind of magnifier. Anything else you need just let me know ! 👊

Stick
Stickcommentedweek 46 years ago
Hi @Scandigrow! Too much water and spraying led to this situation. In high temps you should water and spray at night. Such young seedlings only need a cup of water once in a while and no spray at all, or the roots and the leaves won't be able to breath. Your roots need to alternate between wet and dry cycle, so stop watering+spraying for a few days and see how it goes. Hope this will help, happy growing! 👊

Been there, it's one of the problems with growing in greenhouses. Sorry to say this, but at this point the best bet is to harvest and salvage what you can, else bud rot will infest every bud in there. Trash the infested buds, you do not want that crap in your lungs
