The underdog scheme #4

Lily_Bloom Chemdog took its time in the beginning but started immediately with a very beautiful leaf color. I’m happy about it and have nothing else to say this week :)

Lily_Bloom This little beauty is very modest in any way. Think I might overwhelmed it a little at the start.. the dark green color and the slow growth are good indicators in comparison to the glutton peyote :D nonetheless it’s healthy! I already know what training’s technique I’ll use :)

Lily_Bloom Until the plantys grew big enough to not share a light anymore, you’re sometimes going to see pictures of both of them. And that way it might be easier to understand what I mean when I make a comparison between them. Brilliant. :D Because of the short internode of chemdog I decided to go for a classic mainlining, but because this would be a very time consuming project I’ll take it easier and go for a simple manifold instead. But if you’re interested to see me doing a mainlining beast, let me know and I’ll consider it for another grow :)

Lily_Bloom No more hesitation. There is always a significant change and growth to see whenever the box is opened and I will keep feeding a moderat nutrient solution. Less is more with this one here

Lily_Bloom Except the manifold I didn’t use another training but started to decide which branches to cut. First I thought to keep about 8 in total but I had a change of heart and I will go with 16-20 branches. I got the space now, so I got to use it :D

Lily_Bloom This week I defoliated on 3 different days and spread the 4 main branches further as preparation for the switch. I kept the nutrient solution and just filled it up with 3 litre add back. I reduce the light slowly, every second day 2 hours less. Flowering stage - here we go! Update: I should have known better, because I read about Metrop’s advice before to keep the ec constantly low in general, but settled with my personal experiences of other fertiliser without giving it a thought, that my measurement alone couldn’t grasp the full range of ingredients. And it worked for a period of time but now it really shows.. I mean the lime coloured leaf tips are nice to watch and …. Ok, ok I better shut up and turn my ec down to 1020 ms/cm

Lily_Bloom Hello guys, I‘m back :D After a loooong break (Social media only) I‘m going to update my diaries and show you what happened since then. Chemdog grew beautifully and I might have found my favorite way to train a plant. Ist’s not only nice to watch, but has a lot potencial to become a very big lady, too ;)

Lily_Bloom I was trying to open up the canopy a little more, allowing her to use up all the space the tent has to offer. And take a look at these roots, baby ;)

Lily_Bloom Was thinking about cutting some of the branches because I was worried about handling the plant in flowering stage for all the "little" things that could go wrong (budrot, nanners, climate probs.) But decided then, that opening up the canopy worked so well, that I should be able noticing problems soon enough. So I kept her going.

Lily_Bloom Very happy about her development, although I still struggle a bit with the nutrient solution. It´s quiet hard mixing the parts for such a small amount, but I was warned so I won´t complain :D

Lily_Bloom In the first 3 weeks of flowering, the lady took her time and baby steps.. But now, she got her seven- league boots on :D

Lily_Bloom The diameter of Chemdog is 1.10m now and the smell started to get really strong! But it´s more reminiscent of a herb or some sort of mean vegetable :D Like it would want to become the kind of medicine sold in an asian drug store :D
