EVD420 Yo, what’s up growmies 🤝 This is Blueberry × DC Gamma Bloom — F1. Not expecting much visible diversity at this stage, but F2 should bring something really interesting. For now, it’s all about observation and laying the groundwork for the next generation.

EVD420 Yo, what’s up growmies 🤝 Update on Blueberry × DC Gamma Bloom. Upon returning, I noticed that the plants had stretched into the light. Some minor light burn occurred, but nothing critical. All plants were defoliated and switched to flower, and the burned sections were carefully removed.

EVD420 During this reporting period, the line underwent standard structural control. All plants were defoliated and topped to regulate height and maintain canopy control. Selected males were separated for pollen collection. Phenotype observations: • Plant #1 was identified as male and moved to a separate box for pollen collection. Notably, the male expresses 7-finger leaves, which may indicate a stronger Blueberry influence. • Plant #2 shows a stronger DC Gamma Bloom dominance. It expresses 7 to 9-finger leaves, suggesting a more pronounced DC structural trait. • Plant #3 appears to lean more toward the Blueberry side, consistently showing 7-finger leaves and a morphology closer to that parent line. The population currently displays a visible split between Blueberry-leaning and DC-dominant expressions. Flowering observation phase continues.

EVD420 During this reporting period, sex identification was finalized and structural correction completed. The remaining plants expressed female characteristics and were confirmed as females. Both plants were topped (apical control finalized) to regulate vertical growth and improve canopy structure. They have now been fully transitioned into flowering. The selected male plant remains isolated and is currently being maintained for pollen collection. At this stage, the population has been reduced to two flowering females, with controlled pollen available for targeted crosses. Flowering observation phase begins.

EVD420 lowering initiated on February 20. Pollination Phase • Plant #2 and Plant #3 were moved for controlled pollination. • They remained in isolation for several days during the pollination window. • After completion, both plants were returned to the main flowering box. Current Status The line is now in early flowering stage, with selected branches undergoing seed development. Canopy remains stable following the transition and temporary relocation.

EVD420 Pollination Result Controlled pollination has been successful. Visible seed formation is confirmed, with calyx swelling and developing seeds clearly present. Current Status Plants remain in active flowering. The line has now entered the seed maturation phase. From this point forward, the focus shifts to: • Proper seed development • Full flowering completion • Uniform ripening Observation continues

EVD420 Development & Testing This line has become one of the most interesting during the current cycle, and several flowers have been sampled for early testing. A few branches were harvested for evaluation, which explains the partially trimmed appearance of some plants. Pollination Results Where pollination was previously performed, seed formation is clearly visible, confirming successful fertilization. Flower Observations Some flowers are developing particularly attractive structure and appearance at this stage. The plants are now receiving more available space and resources, which may be contributing to improved flower development. Current Status The line continues through flowering with both flower production and seed development underway. Final evaluation will be made closer to the end of the bloom cycle.

EVD420 Aroma Profile The aroma is fairly weak and generic, with no clearly distinguishable or dominant notes at this stage. Seed Development Seeds on the pollinated branches are already fully formed and appear ready for harvest. However, they will remain on the plant until the end of the cycle to complete the flush. Current Status The plant is being transitioned to pure water (flush phase). Estimated time remaining: ~2 weeks until harvest.

EVD420 Harvest Plants #2 and #3 were harvested last weekend. Further holding was unnecessary as seeds had already reached full maturity. Seed Development Seeds are fully matured and ready for further processing. Next Step Seeds are now being sent to stratification (storage & conditioning phase). Result The grow cycle is officially completed. The genetic pool has been successfully expanded, providing solid material for future selection and testing.

EVD420 Seed Yield Total seed production: approximately ~150–200 seeds. All seeds were combined into a single pool to maximize genetic variation for the next cycle. Phenotypic Observations During this run, no significant or standout phenotypic differences were identified. * Most plants leaned toward the DC Gamma Bloom side * A few showed more Blueberry-like expression * However, no new or distinct traits emerged Strategy Due to the lack of clear differentiation, it was decided to: * Mix all seeds together * Proceed with a broad F2 population run The goal is to unlock genetic segregation and diversity in the next generation. Result The cycle is completed. A solid F2 seed stock has been created, forming a strong base for pheno hunting and selection in the next run.
