PapaTerps ZodaZa - Umami Continuing 2026 with another "premium" strain, ZodaZa by the Umami Seed Company, she is the third of my six "premium brand" strains for the start of 2026 - I've chosen her for her sweet floral flavour and calming balanced affects. Day 1 - I've dropped the seed into a plain glass of RO tap water, pH'd to 6.3. I'm using the floating method here, my go-to germination method. She will remain floating in the water for at least two days, I will check her every day for a taproot, once it appears, I will place her into a starter pot, before she is moved into her 20L main pot. Day 2 - This one has germinated really quickly, the seed must be really fresh! A taproot has appeared from the seed and it is at an acceptable length to move her into her starter pot! She will be left in here to grow for the next few days, until she is big and strong enough to be transplanted into her main grow pot! 🙏 Day 5 - Seedling has appeared from the soil and is about 4cm in height. 🤘🏻 Day 10 - she is growing really well, another few days and she'll be in veg 💪🏻

PapaTerps ZodaZa - Umami Seed Co. Day 15 - she is in veg 🎉 she started growing her third set of leaves as well as a couple of extra nodes! I've been watering her with .25 of a liter this week as she is still in her starter pot, I will be moving her into her main grow pot tomorrow - I wouldn't normally left her this long in the starter pot, but I've been really busy the last week, so I haven't time... But it doesn't seemed to have stopped her! Day 16 - I've removed her from the starter pot and planted her into her main grow pot 🎉 she will remain here for the rest of her lifecycle. Her root system is extensive and had protruded out of the pot, so I had to break the starter pot to protect the root system, but it was worth it - I created space in the soil, pre-watered it with 0.5L of RO tap water and the BioBizz Root juice solution and placed the root ball into the pot, covered it with soil and watered it again with another 0.25L of the same solution.

I've been preparing her for bloom this week, removing the lowest most budsites and a couple of fan leaves to improve airflow. She has responded to the topping pretty well, focusing on stretching her lowest most stems up to meet the canopy 🙌🏻 She will be moved onto a 12 hour light schedule from next week 👍🏻

Shes just about two weeks into her flowering cycle and has started to stretch and develop her bud sites really well! There's not a whole lot of foliage on her and her nodal spacing is good, so I haven't had to do any tucking or cutting; I have a feeling she's going to be a super easy grow! Thats it really, shes at that phase where you just feed and let her grow, so that's what I'm doing 💪

She has stretched really well and has started to develop her budsites! I've removed her lowest most fan leaves and budsites as they'll never receive enough light to develop into real buds (lollipopped) and to improve overall airflow in the grow space.

She's has finished her stretch phase and is now focusing on developing her bud sites! I've lollipopped her to about four nodes from the canopy, as the lower nodes would never receive enough light to develop in time, it will also give the canopy all that extra energy 🙏🏻 Her aroma is just about to come through, but it's a little too early to fully decipher it. She's had a good amount of stress now, so I'm going to leave her alone for the next couple weeks and just allow her to grow 💪🏻

PapaTerps ZodaZa - Umami Seed Co. Day 90 🚿 She was twice this week watered with 3L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed in order and then pHd to 6.3. I've increased her BioHeaven and Acti-Vera nutrients to help boost her metabolism 💪🏻 ✂️ She has been working hard on bulking her flower again this week! No work required on her this week, as her internodal spacing and low leaf count has made her super easy to manage! 🙌🏻 🌸 Her flower has grown well but still requires bulking! But you can see her other worldly appearance starting to show, with shades of dark green contrasted with the white pistils and dark purple on her sugar leaves - she really is spectacular!! Her aroma is also present, with notes of grapes and candy 👌🏻

She has begun her flushing stage and is now only receiving plain water, she is currently drying back and will be harvested in the next few days! ✂️ No work on her this week, she isn't very bushy and she is nearing the end of her lifecycle, so the next time she will see my scissors will be harvest day 🙌🏻 🌸 Her flower is quite small, but is very beautiful, with dark sugar leaves with streaks of lime green and striking amber pistils, her aroma is also very striking, very floral and herbal with a candy twist! Her flower is also covered in trichomes, the majority of which have turned milky clear with a sprinkling of ambers 👌🏻 She is almost ready for harvest guys 🎉

Not a great harvest, but she smells amazing! I harvested her a few days ago and she is currently drying, she will be allowed to dry for another couple of days, before I take her down and start the curing process in glass jars! This should take a few weeks, after which I will post a smoke report. Smoke Report - garbage. I smoked her flower, vaped her flower and pressed it for rosin and dab'd her, all really mild flavour profile with an average high. Not a great experience with Umami.

Day 102 - Harvest Day 🎉 🚿 No watering this week, she was left to dry-back after around ten days of flush👍🏻 ✂️ I gave her a good defoliation at the start of the week, and today I performed a wet trim on her, removing as much foliage as possible and trimming the trichome-less parts of the sugar leaves 👍🏻 🌸 Her flower is quite small, but is very beautiful, with dark sugar leaves with streaks of lime green and striking amber pistils, her aroma is also very striking, very floral and herbal with a candy twist! Her flower is also covered in trichomes, the majority of which have turned milky clear with a sprinkling of ambers 👌🏻 She didn't bulk as much as I had hoped, maybe she was stressed a little too much, but she finished up and matured nicely 👍🏻

I'm curious with Umami seed bank, they sale expensive seeds but how is the quality of selection/breeding ? in terms of terpenes ? i follow your grow until smoke review . One budtender in Barcelona told me "Go Umami" to grow top shelf weed.
