all_about_420 Nu isses endlich so weit 😍
So weit, so gut.

all_about_420 The Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics is showing its full power and has already handled the second topping extremely well. After recovering from the previous LST, the new cut further encouraged branching to perfect the desired bushy profile. The lady presents herself with impressive vitality and is pushing the new shoots up vigorously on one level. You can clearly see how the structure is becoming denser and the plant is putting the extra energy directly into building new nodes, which creates the foundation for a massive area in the tent.

all_about_420 This week, the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics is showing up as a really thick, fat bush and displays impressive vitality. The recovery phase after the intense training measures is going optimally, and the plant is using the remaining vegetative time to build up some serious biomass. You can clearly see how dense the branching structure has become and how powerfully the lady is pushing the new shoots upward. Before we head into the long-awaited flowering phase in one to two weeks, there's still a final defoliation action at the bottom to direct the energy specifically into the top buds. The foundation for a fat performance is definitely laid.

all_about_420 In the third week of flowering, the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics really kicks off. The stretch is slowly flattening out as the plant now focuses all its energy on generative development. The new pictures clearly show how the countless flower sites are beautifully developing and forming the first dense white hairs (pistils). On day 21, there was also a thorough lollipopping, where the lower third was completely cleared of shadow leaves and weak shoots to direct energy specifically into the top buds. The switch to Advanced Nutrients continues to pay off: The foliage shines in a flawless, healthy green, with no trace of old deficiency or curling issues. Thanks to consistent training during the veg phase, the structure presents itself on a perfectly homogeneous level, allowing each individual shoot tip to capture maximum light. An absolutely clean start to real bud production!

all_about_420 Halfway through the flowering phase, and the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics is really pulling out all the stops when it comes to resin production. The development in the current pictures is absolutely impressive: The buds are noticeably swelling and are already covered by a dense, sparkling layer of trichomes that lays like fine frost over the sugar leaves. After the lollipopping on day 21, the targeted energy distribution is fully noticeable; the plant is channeling all its strength directly into the formation of compact, resinous flower clusters. The switch to the Advanced Nutrients program is still going perfectly, and the deep, vibrant green of the leaves shows that the nutrient balance is now absolutely stable in the optimal range after the corrections from the veg phase. An extremely clean picture that definitely builds excitement for the coming weeks.

all_about_420 In the fifth flowering week, the decisive phase begins for the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics, and the exclusive genetics of Blueberry x Banana x Blue Lobster is now showing a very special phenomenon. The absolute focus in this phase is on the beginning ripening of the resin glands, where a characteristic, intensely yellowish trichome carpet increasingly becomes noticeable on the plump buds, almost resembling fine pollen. This dense powdered sugar layer coats the massive flower clusters, while the buds continue to swell relentlessly, gain density, and slowly take on a minimal, light bluish tint. The complex, fruity-sweet terpene profile of this cross is becoming more and more apparent, and the stable, deep leaf green shows that the nutrient supply is perfectly balanced. The lady is absolutely at the limit of her performance and is building exactly the sticky high-end quality that one expects from this genetics.

all_about_420 A massive development boost characterizes the current state of the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics. The buds have increased so much in volume and density that the installation of stabilizing supports became unavoidable during the week to safely carry the heavy load of the main tops. Particularly fascinating is now the color transformation of the entire bush: The once vegetative green is increasingly giving way to a deep, multi-layered color spectrum, with distinct bluish and violet nuances laying over the foliage and the compact flower clusters. At the same time, the frosty trichome layer continues to swell relentlessly and already exudes the typically complex, intense aroma. The structure is perfectly juicy, optimally secured, and provides the perfect foundation for a top-notch end result.

all_about_420 Completely unexpectedly, this project is heading into the home stretch, as the ripeness test under the microscope has delivered a clear signal. Upon precise checking of the trichomes, it has become evident that the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics is already fully ready for harvest – about a week earlier than originally calculated. The sticky gland heads have achieved just the right ratio of milky and amber hues, indicating the absolute peak of effects. The interplay of massive density, deep bluish-purple discolorations of the flower calyxes, and the enchanting, fruity aroma signals the biological maximum of this run. The fact that this lady has tapped into her genetic potential so rapidly and vigorously underscores the full success of the optimized nutrient and environmental adjustments. Thus, the starting signal for the harvest of absolutely flawless high-end quality is given.
Final Grow Report for the Blue Lobster by Cipher Genetics
1. Summary of the Vegetative Phase & Case Study
The vegetative development of this demanding cross turned out to be a highly educational phase that required precise and responsive cultivation management. In the advanced vegetative stage, pronounced growth disturbances manifested as severely wrinkled leaves, growth delays, and a noticeable, progressive lightening of the leaf green throughout the new shoots.
A structured, differential diagnostic investigation was immediately initiated. In the course of this, common environmental and care errors were systematically ruled out: There was neither light stress due to inappropriate distances of the Mars Hydro LED nor deviations in the vapor pressure deficit (VPD control). Potential pH fluctuations within the Light-Mix substrate were also found to be incorrect after careful measurement, and a purely genetic growth anomaly of the phenotype could also be falsified.
The actual trigger crystallized as a combination of local transpiration stagnation and a resulting secondary nutrient deficiency. The restructuring of the setup involved a complete switch from BioBizz to the mineral-chelated system of Advanced Nutrients, coupled with an increase in calcium-magnesium supply to a constant 2 ml/l CalMag. These measures were complemented by a strategic defoliation in the inner plant center to optimize the microclimate and drastically increase air circulation in the plant thicket. Although the deformations and relative paleness of the sails were still visibly lingering when initiating the generative phase and during the first week of flowering, the desired physiological turnaround quickly became evident in the fresh shoots. The adjustments bore fruit sustainably, the metabolism stabilized, and the shoot growth returned to a healthy vitality.
2. Summary of the Flowering Phase
With the onset of the second week of flowering, the previous deficiency and wrinkling issues were completely overcome. The plant adapted phenomenally to the new nutrient scheme and generated a deep, uniformly rich leaf green. The generative stretch was extremely powerful but could be perfectly tamed by the training techniques (Topping and Low Stress Training) consistently applied beforehand. A completely homogeneous, widespread structure formed, on which an enormous number of equal flower sites began to develop early on.
On day 21, a rigorous lollipopping was performed. The complete clearing of the lower third of shading elements and unproductive side shoots led to a highly efficient energetic focus on the primary flower clusters. By the middle of the flowering phase (week 4), an explosive, frosty trichome formation set in, covering the swelling buds with a dense layer of resin.
In the fifth week of flowering, the genetics revealed their full visual and biochemical spectacle: The resin glands matured rapidly, forming an intensely yellowish, powdery surface that visually resembled the finest pollen. At the same time, the desired color transformation began, with the flower calyxes and surrounding sugar leaves dressing in delicate, bluish-violet hues. Due to the immense density and enormous weight of the main shoots, stabilizing supports had to be introduced in the following week to secure the heavy load of the massive clusters.
3. Harvest & Overall Conclusion
The project came to a surprisingly quick and spectacular end when the microscopic examination of the trichomes confirmed an unexpectedly early biological maturity – well over a week before the calculated standard window. The sticky gland heads exhibited the perfect ratio of milky to amber trichomes, signaling the start of the harvest. On harvest day, the Blue Lobster presented itself as a rock-hard, deeply bluish-violet colored beauty under a sparkling layer of crystals. The combination of optimal environmental management and the chelated nutrient depot allowed the plant to reach its maximum genetic potential.
Upon the final cut, the plant exuded the world-famous, unmistakable Blue Lobster scent: An intensely sweet, almost artificial blueberry aroma perfectly blends with a heavy, gas-like diesel note. Due to the genetics of the cross (Blueberry x Banana x Blue Lobster), the Blueberry-Banana line also comes through strongly, adding a creamy, ripe banana note and a subtle undertone of zesty grape. This extremely sticky and odor-intensive combination makes it immediately clear why this genetics enjoys such hype. Conclusion: An absolute elite strain from Cipher Genetics that, after initial challenges, has revealed its true high-end potential through the right grower's touch and the restructuring of the setup. A true masterpiece in taste and appearance.

all_about_420 The day of the harvest has officially arrived, and the Blue Lobster from Cipher Genetics presents itself in all its glory for the grand finale. The resin-soaked, compact flower clusters bid farewell with a stunning play of colors in deep blues and dark purples, glowing beneath the dense layer of white crystals.
In addition to the visual dominance, it is primarily the terpene profile that completely fills the room: during the final trim, the plant exudes the world-famous, unmistakable Blue Lobster scent. An intensely sweet, almost artificial blueberry aroma perfectly blends with a heavy, gas-like diesel note. Thanks to the genetics of the cross, the Blueberry-Banana line also comes through strongly, giving it a creamy, ripe banana note and a subtle undertone of zesty grape. This extremely sticky and aromatic combination makes it immediately clear why this genetics enjoys such hype. The structure is rock-hard, the quality flawless – an absolutely successful cut that is now perfectly prepared for drying.
Good luck with your pheno. Of all the beauties in the last run, the Strawberry Lobster is the best smoke. It's just one of three that I've planted here on GD for 3 years and rated a 10/10. It checks all the boxes. Yield, potent, robust. Beautiful, smell and taste top everything else like the cherry on the cake. Good choice, Growmie!
@Stony_German, yeah, it's really cool to read that from you, I'm even more excited about it now. I'm curious to see what the Blueberry Banana does with the Lobster ;) But if you gave yours a full 10 (I'll check that out), I'm feeling optimistic... But first, we still have a good 4 weeks of growth ahead, so a bit of patience is required...
@All_about_420, Sure. I also did a THC and terpene test at the CSC nearby. You can find it in the harvest report. I think it had around 21-22%, but its true strength is the smoke. You know that feeling when you immediately realize, OOH, this is something different. I've been growing for almost 30 years (1996-1997), so I can definitely say it's something special. I didn't expect it at all. I just wanted to try a Blue Lobster and I don't regret it at all; I was very positively surprised. And after 4 weeks in the jar, it just keeps getting tastier and tastier.
