zazazilla Day 7 from germination, The girls are just starting to take a look at the world, but so far they seem content. For this age, they are quite vigorous and the leaves are starting to open nicely. With the Critical Orange Punch, it's clear from the start that one had a head start, a stronger seedling right from the beginning, and now it also has slightly bigger leaves. Nothing to panic about, they are still just a week old seedlings and it could easily even out over time. So far, no interventions, just calm, light, growth, and a drop of katana roots.😅

zazazilla On the 14th, I have to say that the girls are really doing beautifully. They've noticeably shot up, strengthened, and overall they look healthy and vibrant. The growth is brisk, the leaves have a nice color and structure, and the internodes are reasonably close together, so I have nothing to complain about for now. It's a joy to check on them every day and see the progress almost before my eyes. The only blemish is entirely on me. While watering, I left a few drops of water on the leaves, and of course, under the light, it did its thing. A slight burn, nothing serious, but it’s a bummer. Fortunately, it doesn't have any major impact, and the new leaves are already growing without issues. Critical Orange Punch is really taking off nicely; it has a desire to grow and already looks strong. Frozen Biscotti is a bit calmer for now, not as aggressive as the good old Skunk, but that might not be a bad thing at all. Some genetics take their time and then deliver quality. We'll see how it performs in the coming weeks. I've recently added a bit of silica, so I'm curious to see if it will show in the strength of the stems and overall resilience. So far, they look content and healthy, so I believe we're on the right track. If they continue at this pace, I'd like to top them at the 4-5 node next week and slowly move into flowering. The second week has been very successful for me, and everything is running exactly as it should.

Do budoucna si z toho beru jasné ponaučení a příště půjdu raději do nepředhnojené půdy, ať mám všechno víc pod kontrolou. Teď už jen sledovat, doladit detaily a dát jim klid, protože když mají, co potřebují, odvděčí se samy.😻

zazazilla On the 27th, preparations for flowering are in full swing, and overall I'm satisfied with the development. I managed to more or less even out all the branches using a trellis and LST. The only exception is the smallest Critical Orange Punch, which is lagging a bit so far. I hope it catches up during the stretch. If not, the lower branches will be removed, leaving just four tops. I'm still dealing with slight underfeeding. I still don't fully understand the pre-fertilized substrate, so out of fear, I kept the doses of growth fertilizer too low. It's noticeable on the plants, and the deficiency is still visible. But I see it as another lesson for the future. Additionally, I managed to burn the tips of the leaves. The combination of low humidity and high temperature took its toll. One day, my settings slipped, and it was 30 °C in the box with 40% relative humidity. The first round is just about making mistakes, but thanks to them, I'm already gathering a lot of experience. Starting today, I'm shortening the light period, and the girls are officially entering their first week of flowering. Now it's just about maintaining stable conditions, fine-tuning the nutrition, and hoping that the flowering goes smoothly and without major complications. 🌱

zazazilla On May 34. On May 7. After switching to flowering, the girls started to thrive beautifully and began to stretch significantly. Overall, they look very healthy and it seems that they currently lack nothing. The new leaves are a rich green and the plants have a nice, vital appearance. However, the smaller pots are starting to take their toll. With the smaller Critical Orange Punch, I didn't water it one day at a pot weight of 2.2 kg, and the next day it was down to 1.6 kg. It was clear that the plant wasn't completely happy; the lower leaves drooped slightly, but I believe it will recover quickly. The two larger girls received a light defoliation of the lower shaded leaves, mainly the larger and damaged ones from the growth phase. The smaller plant is yet to face this, but it will once it drinks properly, as any further intervention now would mean unnecessary stress for it. The tops are already starting to bloom nicely and the leaves are gradually coating with sugar, so the flowers are slowly taking off. The only thing that worries me a bit is the higher humidity. Therefore, I'm considering getting a dehumidifier for the more advanced flowering phase, but I'll see how the weather develops outside. Maybe it can be managed without it. Now I'll let them stretch a bit more and probably re-stretch the trellis over the weekend to level the shoots and create an even crown. Unfortunately, the size difference between the small Critical Orange Punch and the other two plants continues to grow. The larger Critical Orange Punch and Frozen Biscotti are almost equal in size, with Frozen Biscotti seemingly growing a bit better, which I didn't expect at all during the growth phase. In the end, it shows again that quality genetics can surprise.

zazazilla The girls are doing beautifully and keep growing taller. Over the weekend, I did some lollipopping, maybe a bit more aggressively than I originally planned. Fortunately, the plants are kind to me, and just two days after the intervention, the leaves were beautifully praying again and started forming buds. At first, I was really worried that I overdid it with the lollipopping, and I checked every few hours to see if I spotted any signs of hermies. In the end, everything is fine; they are just strong girls and handled the stress without any problems. Unfortunately, I did get quite a hard hit. During one night from Monday to Tuesday, almost all the leaves in the middle of the smaller Critical Orange Punch started showing extreme magnesium deficiency. Fortunately, the larger one only had the tips of the leaves affected, but the smaller one took quite a beating. As soon as I discovered the problem, I ran out to buy calmag, and both Critical Orange Punch got 1.5 ml in 300 ml of water as first aid. Today they already look much better, and thankfully, the spots aren’t spreading any further. Frozen Biscotti seems to be completely unfazed by magnesium. Anyway, it’s getting some too, just to be safe. It’s quite an expensive lesson, but at least next time I know not to underestimate even the smallest signs of deficiencies during the growth phase. Hopefully, I’ll catch it earlier next time; I hope it doesn’t affect the final yield too much. I was also quite surprised by the difference between the strains. One is obviously very sensitive to magnesium, and the other has absolutely no problem with it. I was really surprised when two plants had strange purple-brown spots overnight, while the third one was completely fine.

zazazilla Day 48. Day 21 of flowering. The girls are making me happy, they're doing their thing and putting out beautiful buds that are almost half the size bigger every day. They're starting to smell a bit too, Critical Orange Punch strikes me as a classic skunk and Frozen Biscotti smells like fir or pine needles, such a fresh forest scent, and so far it looks like Critical Orange Punch has more sugar. After adding CalMag, the girls really jumped up, you can see that I had neglected them a bit before, but now they're enjoying it. In the next waterings, I slightly raised the pH and so far they seem to like it. Over the weekend, there was a bigger defoliation of the inner leaves, but the girls are unstoppable, strong like a lion, and they're already pushing new leaves back, so I'm going to take it easy now and gradually remove what's extra. It's also clear that I should have done the lollipopping a bit higher; I only left it to the fourth tier of branches, even though there were only two nodes left, some buds are unnecessarily low, but I don't want to interfere too much now, so there will be more lower buds than the original plan. Now I'm just doing light defoliation and letting the girls vibe on their own.

zazazilla Day 55. Day 28 of flowering. The plants are growing beautifully, and the smell is getting more intense. With Critical Orange Punch, the aroma has started to evolve from earthy forest notes to a slightly tangy tone. Frozen Biscotti is beginning to have a bit of a sharp, pungent smell. I hope that sweeter notes will show up later, but that will depend on whether I hit the right pheno. I lightly evened out the canopy and spread them out using wire attached to the pot. The buds already look really good, even though I still can't manage to take a proper photo of them; they're really hefty colas. I hope everything goes smoothly until the end; I'm struggling a bit with humidity and I'm worried about mold, so I got a dehumidifier. For now, I have it in the room, but I might need to move it directly into the tent. I'll see, because I'm already dealing with higher temperatures too. I might need to get a stronger exhaust, even though the current one should be sufficient according to the manufacturer... I also started feeding Green Sensation according to the charts, and I propped up the smaller plants so they are level with the big Critical Orange Punch. So far, it looks like they are doing well; the buds are growing beautifully. 😁

zazazilla Day 62. Day 35 of flowering. The plants are going full throttle, the buds are getting bigger every day and they’re already nice and firm when squeezed. They really make me happy, both in appearance and smell. In the last week, the aroma of both strains has started to become noticeably stronger. Frozen Biscotti isn't as sharp as it used to be; instead, a subtle creamy undertone is coming through, and it smells really luxurious. I would compare Critical Orange Punch at this stage to tutti frutti; it has a sweet fruity scent that is becoming more pronounced and is also quite tempting. So far, it looks like it's going to be some really solid smoking. Honestly, I’m as excited as a little kid 😄 As for watering, the bigger Critical Orange Punch drinks every day, while the other girls are fine with water every other day. Frozen Biscotti is slowly catching up to the big COP; I’d say the tops might even be a bit bigger now. This strain is a really pleasant surprise for me, and I’m glad I got it for free with the seeds. When I compare the small and large Critical Orange Punch, I’m starting to think that next time I’ll germinate maybe three seeds, pick the strongest plant after a week, and just go with that one. The difference is really noticeable; the smaller plant is barely half the size. I’m finally managing to keep the humidity under control, but I’m still struggling a bit with Green Sensation from Plagron. It seems to be slightly burning the sugar leaves on the buds, so I’ll definitely start more cautiously next grow, maybe even from half the dose and gradually increase it. Now I just hope the remaining weeks fly by quickly and, most importantly, without any issues.

zazazilla Day 69. Day 42 of flowering. This week, the girls have grown nicely, but in the last three days, it's clear that growth is gradually slowing down and the plants are focusing mainly on ripening and gaining bud volume. The small and large Critical Orange Punch look like two completely different plants, not just in appearance but also in yield and aroma. The smaller one has beautifully colored orange pistils and a pleasant sweet scent. For the larger one, I had to tie the crown together so that the branches wouldn't break under the weight of the buds. Handling them is quite nerve-wracking because those buds are really heavy. Frozen Biscotti also has a very nice yield, and the buds are starting to turn purple. The aroma has shifted again since last week; I can smell ginger and a sweet undertone, reminding me of delicate ginger cookies. Really interesting profile, and I'm looking forward to the result. The trichomes are starting to cloud nicely; I would say it's about half and half milky and clear, and I haven't noticed much amber yet, mostly just on the leaves. The plants show slight over-fertilization, especially on the sugar leaves, but at the same time, the buds have swollen beautifully, so I won't interfere any further and will let it finish peacefully. At this point, there's no sense in making any major changes. Currently, I'm focusing mainly on stable conditions, monitoring temperature and humidity to ensure everything runs smoothly until harvest.

zazazilla The scent has shifted a bit further this week. The big Critical Orange Punch has a strong sweet fruity aroma, very full and heavy, something between overripe fruit and citrus. It's really intense, and just moving the plant slightly fills the whole space with its smell. The smaller Critical Orange Punch is a bit gentler, but fresher, more citrusy, and overall a "lighter" scent, still very pleasant. Frozen Biscotti is a completely different story. The aroma is spicy with a sweet undertone, it still reminds me of something like gingerbread, slightly pungent but also sweet. A really interesting profile that has changed quite a bit since the beginning and is now much more complex. The girls are drinking like crazy right now, I'm watering every other day, and sometimes they even ask for water two days in a row. You can see they're still in full swing and going at maximum. New calyxes are still growing, so it looks like we have about a week or two until harvest. The trichomes are roughly 60/40 in favor of cloudy, and I mostly see amber ones on the leaves for now. Considering this is my first grow, I'm really happy with it. The girls smell beautiful, and overall it looks like a pretty decent yield. Hopefully, I'll improve a bit by next time, and the plants won't look so ugly anymore. 💀😄

zazazilla Den 83.

Critical Orange Punch really surprised me in a very pleasant way. Both plants differed in growth and yield, but the quality remained at a very good level for both. The larger Critical Orange Punch has a full, pronounced flavor, sweet and fruity with a slight citrus hint. The smoke is smooth and overall feels more intense and "round." The smaller plant, on the other hand, is gentler and fresher, more citrusy, with a lighter and fresh profile, but still very pleasant. I would describe the effect as mood-lifting, improving focus, and overall uplifting. At first, it’s very positive and energetic, but gradually it transitions more into a calming state and nicely grounds you by the end. The final yield was 118 g for the larger plant and 70 g for the smaller one. The harvest took place on April 24th, which was the 59th day of flowering. I currently have 3 days of curing behind me, and the aroma is still evolving and improving.

zazazilla The harvest went smoothly, and I'm glad I let everything finish at once. Although the smaller Critical Orange Punch could have come down a few days earlier and the Frozen Biscotti later, the difference isn't really significant in the end. Drying was done at about 55% humidity, and curing is now happening with Boveda and Integra packs at 62%, so the buds should have ideal conditions for flavor and aroma development. Considering this was my first grow, I'm really happy with the results. The girls smelled amazing during the flowering stage, and the final quality looks very promising too. Now it's just about fine-tuning the curing, and next time I'll push myself a bit further, especially regarding nutrient management and the overall appearance of the plants. I'll try organic next round, so we'll see. 😁✋

Frozen Biscotti was a really pleasant surprise for me from the start, and in the end, it just confirmed that. This strain had its own style, both visually and especially in aroma. The taste and smell are very original, distinctly spicy, but also complemented by a subtle sweet and slightly creamy undertone. Overall, it feels quite complex, and during curing, the profile becomes even rounder and smoother. What really caught my attention structurally is that on some branches, there were up to 3 buds per level and a total of 3 branches per level, which made the plant very interesting and productive. The effect is initially uplifting, improving mood and significantly inducing hunger, while one feels lighter and more positive. Gradually, it transitions into a calmer and sleepier phase, which is more soothing and ideal for relaxation or the evening. The final yield was 109 g, which pleased me and just confirms that this strain turned out very well in the end. Overall, I rate Frozen Biscotti as an interesting and unconventional strain that is definitely worth trying.

zazazilla Frozen Biscotti beautifully caught up with the rest during flowering and ultimately offered a really decent yield and appearance. The buds had a nice structure and towards the end, they started to show slight purple hues, which added even better visuals. The drying process took place at around 55% humidity and the curing is now happening with Boveda and Integra packs at 62%, so the conditions should be ideal for further development of flavor and aroma. I'm glad I tried this strain because it really surprised me in the end, and I wouldn't hesitate to return to it or some variation in the future.
