### -=-=-The Grow=-=-=- Now we need to talk about why the fuck this diary has **25 weeks** in it. The answer is actually pretty simple: **I treated Blue Zushi like an automatic for far too long.** She germinated on the 6th of February and everything started completely normally. First couple of weeks were basically water only, then I moved into feeding twice a week. She was healthy, responded well to topping, LST, HST and defoliation, and there was really nothing suggesting that we were about to turn this into a six-month project. Around week 5 I was already saying, *last week of veg*. Week 6: *definitely last week of veg*. Week 7: preflower finally showing and I'm thinking, okay, here we go. Except... we didn't really go anywhere. Weeks kept passing. She grew, but slowly. I switched over to flowering food, kept her under the net, tucked branches every day and waited for the automatic magic to happen. It didn't. By week 14 I was already writing that she should basically be finished by now, yet she was barely moving. Week 15 was the point where I was looking at the plant thinking: **there is no fucking way this is an automatic.** And, well... it wasn't. Blue Zushi is a regular feminized photoperiod strain. This one is completely on me. Apparently I decided that reading the label was optional and spent about fifteen weeks waiting for a photoperiod plant to flower under 18/6. So at the end of May she finally went onto **12/12**. And then she woke the fuck up. She went from around **55 cm to roughly 120 cm**, and suddenly I had exactly the opposite problem. Instead of wondering why she wasn't growing, I was wondering how the hell I was going to stop her from growing through the light. The original 170 cm tent simply wasn't going to work. I pushed the light as high as possible, moved things around, removed the bottom growth and waited for the bigger tent I had ordered. For a moment I genuinely thought I might have to cut my losses. Eventually the **2 meter tent** arrived. She got moved over, heavily lollipopped and tied to the frame to control the remaining stretch. That finally gave her the room she wanted. From there the grow became boring again, which was exactly what I wanted. The damage that had already happened obviously wasn't going anywhere, but it stopped getting worse and the buds started getting fatter. Automatic watering kept her alive while I travelled, she settled into the bigger tent like she had always belonged there, and flowering continued without any more major drama. Toward the end she started fading and showing a bit of nitrogen deficiency, which at that age wasn't exactly surprising. After around **nine proper weeks of 12/12 flowering**, she was finally ready. On **August 1st**, almost six months after putting the seed into a paper towel, the ridiculous journey was finally over. The funny part is that once I actually treated Blue Zushi like what she really is, she basically behaved exactly as advertised. So no, Blue Zushi does not take 25 weeks to finish. Apparently **I do**.
