All renovation measures are complete, and we're starting a new round. Yay :D :D 🚀🔥 I've made a few small changes to the system. Among other things, I built a pump shaft out of a KG pipe to prevent drifting back into a root ball with the measuring device 😅
I cut the pipe to the desired height and drilled holes on the sides where no root balls will hang later. These are as small as possible and as many as possible, just in case one gets clogged =D Then I deburred it, and it turned out beautifully =D 🛠️ The whole thing was glued to the bottom of the tub with neutral silicone. Inside, there's now enough space for the submersible pump for the chiller circuit and the probes.
Additionally, I set 4 anchors around each net pot for LST, which I hope will make early training a bit easier before moving on to the clips =) 🌿
I also added another air stone to provide a bit more oxygen input in the middle 🫧
CO₂ will be introduced this run through a 5-liter generator.
I still need to get a bit more familiar with it when we start, but ultimately everything will be controlled by an Inkbird CO₂ controller and a solenoid valve 😊
I hope to maintain the desired values phase-wise this way =)
The bags are still hanging inside as decoration from the last run.. 😄 In this context, I also have a lamp upgrade planned, which I'm currently waiting for… 🙃
This time, I'll also be adjusting the solution from the start with potassium bicarbonate to avoid later pH drifts once the plants move into the reservoir.
This time it will be a 2x2 cross =) 🌱🌱
I currently have the seeds soaking in water at 24–25 degrees in the mini greenhouse overnight 💧
Tomorrow morning they'll go into the paper towel =)
I'm definitely excited that we're getting started again and hope for a good run 😊
This time I'll definitely run a more moderate EC :D :D …

The germination is done, and the little ones are taking the next step in their journey =D 🔥
Everything took place in a mini greenhouse that I had set up in the big tent throughout the process. I also skipped everything except for the heater to keep the temperature as smooth as possible (26 in the tent - 28 in the dome °C) 😊 After about 10 hours of soaking in tap water, they moved on to paper towels. The two Zangrias progressed relatively quickly until the first roots were out 🌱 The London Fogs took a bit more time =) In between, I even set a backup for one London because I got a little panicky 😅🚨🐰 … but luckily it sprouted, and I was able to defuse the backup just in time 😄.. It took about 30 hours in the paper towel for the last one.
When the germination roots were big enough, I put them all in Root Riots and moved them into the last section of the mini house =) From that moment on, the ladies also had a 16/8 cycle 🌞🌙
Again, the two Zangrias were clearly leading the way. One had slight helmet issues, and I helped with tweezers. A small piece of the seed leaf got stuck in the shell, but it didn't harm her 😊 Of course, I tried everything beforehand, soaked, and prayed 🙏💧 but it was just badly wedged, that thing =D The Londons broke through with a bit of a delay, with one latecomer still being a bit smaller. I think that will even out in the next few days =)
After that, the transition from the greenhouse began. I slowly synchronized the climate between the tent and the house over several hours (about 24h) 🐰 When the dome was down, they spent another day in the full tent climate with activated VPD. Currently, they are at 25–26 °C during the day with 68–70 % rH, and at night at 23–24 °C with 65–66 % rH. As soon as they reach the res, I will start adjusting here =)
What I've also noticed: I've been getting more asparagus lately, especially in the early phase, and I suspect it's due to the lamp and the too low blue component. I will revert to a different one during germination in the future 😊 I always like to measure everything, and it can't be due to PPFD, which is why I conclude that. To counteract this a bit, without having to rebuild the lamp just for early veg, I turned on a clip fan relatively early. The mini breeze helped quickly =)
My nutrient solution is set to 1000 µS/cm EC with a full veg schedule, calculated based on a 5-liter titration of my water values 🐰 This time, I will be a bit more meticulous and try to reactively drive based on uptake patterns and plant reactions. I'm definitely excited =D
The whole thing is again at 19–20 °C and a starting pH of 5.7 😊 This time it was also pre-buffered to exclude later drifts. Additives we have again are EndoBoost, HydroGuard, and Cannazym. I will also have CO₂ switched on by the next update, and there will be more info on that 😊🐰 I've set them now since they will take a while to find their way through the net pots into the solution. I expect that they will have developed enough in the remaining time to cope with the set schedule 🚀 I wanted to lose little time here, and you could see that the roots wanted to keep going.
I'm happy that all have sprouted and I'm curious to see how it goes 🔥🐰 The lamp upgrade should also come during the week =D

🌱 Weekly Update
The root transition didn't go as efficiently as planned this time 😅. Some small but crucial decisions led to the establishment in the reservoir dragging on like chewing gum, but in the best way =D Sometimes it's really the little things 🐰
First of all, I set the Riots a bit too high in the net pot. This simply meant that the path to the nutrient solution was longer than necessary.. The roots initially expanded into the middle, rather dry quarter of the clay =D🔥 This was immediately met with turgor problems. The second point was, I wanted to let the girls do their thing this time. The planting moment was well-timed, the Riots still nice and moist – so I thought less moisture would help them search for the reservoir faster. However, combined with the too high positioning, that was rather counterproductive... Instead of getting through faster, they had to cover some distance first 😅 When I saw them regularly hanging at half past eight, I of course moistened them again. Turgor also returned again and again. From here on, I relaxed the entire system to get them back on their feet properly 😊 I reduced the distance between the nutrient solution and the bottom of the pot by slightly raising the level. Next run, I will definitely set them lower again and accompany the transition from the start with targeted moistening, or I’ll set up dripper lines 🐰
🌿 Plant Status & Training
Currently, I'm still waiting for full establishment in the reservoir or the final rooting. In between, there’s still slight turgor loss here and there when I’m a bit late with the moistening. But that should soon be a thing of the past 😊🙏🏻 The stems are now more stable, only the leaf blades are still reacting a bit more sensitively 😅 Overall, I’m really satisfied – they’ve all come along and are developing quite synchronously 🔥🌿

There hasn’t been any change to the nutrient solution itself since the last update =) Currently, I’m running the system a bit more relaxed until the root transition is properly completed 😊

The new lamp is also here now =) I’m running it at a relaxed 300 PPFD, as the DLI is about 20 with an 18/6 cycle. I didn’t want any further overload until the root transition is complete 😊
I also haven’t turned on CO₂ yet. Currently, we’re at about a minimum of 500 ppm ambient value.
🔭 Outlook
Waiting and moistening 😅 Quite an ungrateful phase, but you have to get through it. I hope the root contact comes soon, and then we can finally apply some pressure again 🚀🔥.

🌱 Weekly Update
The first roots have finally arrived in the reservoir, and you can tell that the girls are slowly starting to work =) I really didn't think this phase would drag on for so long 😅 Despite directly moistening them after the first signs of dry stress, I still get the impression that they're having a bit of trouble with it. The turgor for all of them is sometimes not in the ideal state, while there's massive root growth happening. I think they're still in the transition phase, and as soon as the supply is really established, they should be looking a bit better again 😊 Given the noticeable growth above, I suspect that the source-sink balance (growth vs. supply) still needs to stabilize 🌿🐰
🌿 Plant Status & Training
The two Zangrias are developing very similarly so far. One of them is lagging a bit behind and was also the last plant overall to get roots in the reservoir 💧 Accordingly, it's currently a bit smaller. Otherwise, both look almost identical. Leaf shape, structure, and overall appearance are basically the same – it just looks like its sister, only a few days behind 😊
With the Londons, it's a bit more exciting =D What would a run be without that one special one 😄🌱 First of all, both ladies have roots in the reservoir, and both are showing growth 🌱💧
However, I made a mistake with one of them 😅 Since I could see the least turgor problems with her, I moistened her later and also generally less than the others... The background was that I had read beforehand that Wizard Tree genetics can be sensitive to too much moisture at the beginning. So I took a more conservative approach with her and definitely didn't want to drown her. In hindsight, though, that was too cautious, and accordingly, the leaves she formed during this phase currently look like this 😅
What gives me hope, however, is that the apex is continuing to develop, and you can also tell: there's pressure on the plant. Apparently, the meristem is not damaged, and I'm really curious to see how she stands next week 👀🐰
Her sister is the complete opposite and currently the strongest in the tent =D 🌿🔥 Everything went really smoothly for her except for the start. She established root contact, took a growth spurt right away, and has been developing really well since then 😊🌱 Since she has been slightly ahead the whole time, I hope the others get the same boost once they are at the same stage 🌿🚀🐰

Since all of them now have branched roots hanging in the solution and I still see slight turgor problems, I have started to gently raise the VPD. I'm currently leaving the temperature as it is until I'm really sure that they are established =)

🌱 Weekly Update
We are completely in rehab mode. Luckily, things are slowly getting better again =)
After the really difficult transition, my week was mostly about troubleshooting. I’ll try to pick up from the last entry to not leave anything out. The roots finally reached the reservoir, and the plants have taken their first push 🚀 From then on, everything went quite smoothly for the first cycle. Here and there, there was a bit of weaker turgor, but nothing to worry about. I initially attributed the existing leaf issues to my underwatering and let it run for a while. Growth started for everyone, and apart from the somewhat bumpy leaves, everything remained quite unremarkable =)
After two cycles, I noticed that the two Londons had started to show really deformed growth, while the Zangrias were in a praying position ?😅 The solution measurements didn’t show anything unusual at first – everything looked like stable supply...
I then lowered the light a bit, relaxed the VPD temporarily, but none of that led to any real improvement. I ultimately ended up at the nutrient solution only at the very end – that’s where the problem lay =D.. 🐰 Based on my Humboldt run, the EC I set shouldn’t have been a problem, and initially, nothing clearly spoke against it. It was absolutely the same acclimatization process as last time. After taking a closer look at the composition, I finally realized that I probably messed up the Ca/Mg dosing at the beginning – especially with my very soft water – and couldn’t keep up with the rest of the NPK scheme. The praying of the Zangrias was probably a sign of salt stress in hindsight, while the deformed growth of the Londons was due to an emerging micronutrient issue and a developing lockout ?🌿🐰 My previous approach with Cal/Mag was to always raise my input water to a fixed target value that I calculated as the optimal base from my water analysis. I then treated this value like a fixed variable.
That was the real mistake here 🐰⚠️. What I underestimated was the ratio between plant size and the total nutrient volume in the reservoir. The plants are currently still relatively small in about 110 liters of solution. This means that even with moderate underdosing of individual elements, there would still have been enough nutrients available over a certain period due to the sheer volume of the existing solution 😅... Instead, I had already built up a very large part of the total EC through Ca/Mg. That was quite a show =DD When I realized this, I immediately performed a larger water change and slightly increased the micro ratio 😊
From then on, things slowly started to improve 🌱 First, the color returned to the new growth, and then growth picked up significantly again 😊 Even the one London that I honestly had already written off somehow managed to push out a new side shoot =D That ultimately confirmed to me that I had hit the right spot this time 🐰 From that moment on, I could also measure movement in the solution again and only reacted to that in the last cycles. Since the dilution, it has become clear that the EC was significantly too high for these genetics, and the solution is slightly accumulating. I’m currently countering this by regularly exchanging about 10–20 liters of solution for osmosis water with adjusted pH. My personal story with the EC is also quite special 😅.. I assume I have soon reached the uptake point. From this point, the system should run back in balance, and the further course should become significantly calmer 😊. Unfortunately, I can’t present the prettiest pictures this time, but for me personally, this whole experience was truly invaluable. And who knows – maybe it will help someone else down the line 😊.
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
Zangria No. 1 is developing really well under the circumstances. As soon as I’m sure everything has stabilized, it will definitely be topped. Currently, I’m waiting to avoid skewing my measurements with a plant reaction.
Zangria No. 2 still seems a bit stunned at the moment. Visually, it looks healthy, but compared to the first Zangria, it has remained significantly smaller and has only developed very small side shoots so far. You can just tell that it was stuck in this phase a bit longer. I hope it starts to visibly react again in the next few days.
London No. 1 is currently the plant that is responding best to the changes. It is showing the expected growth spurt for the first time again, and I’ve already had to set the first LST clips on it. I’m still waiting to top it until the other plants have stabilized as well.
Honestly, I had almost written off London No. 2 ?. Throughout the entire troubleshooting phase, it continued to push out deformed leaves and looks really completely wrecked =D.. However, after I diluted the solution, it suddenly began to push out a new stable side shoot from this heap of misery ✨, and the leaves are starting to look somewhat like leaves again 🍃😅.
That at least gives me a bit of hope again. I’ll definitely just let it run and see what else happens 👀🌿

Afterwards, I plan to reset the nutrient solution before I try to make up for lost time a bit 😊🚀. All in all, I’m really glad I pushed through this 💪🌱 – even though it wasn’t easy for me at times because I couldn’t figure out the actual problem for a long time. Now I feel like I’ve really learned something and I’m looking forward to seeing how the run develops further 😊.

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
The rehab phase is almost complete, and things are slowly starting to move again =D
On the evening of the last update, I decided to mostly restart the solution (80 liters). Since I had diluted a lot with osmosis water and could see from the plants as well as the measurements that things were looking up again, it felt too risky to continue with the old, rather weak solution. The danger of gradually slipping into an imbalance was greater for me than taking a bit of stress from the swap 😅🔁 The EC was also slightly above my measured uptake point (EC 620 at the time). However, due to my very soft starting water and the necessary Ca/Mg base, my usable range shifts a bit upwards. The goal here was not to consciously go above the point, but to set up the solution in such a way that I can maintain it stably through top-ups without having to intervene significantly during the veg phase 🌱 I want to bring some calm to the root zone now and only work through top-ups for a while. From here on, everything ran much more relaxed again 😊 I did have to dilute again with 5 liters, which was to be expected, but otherwise, a continuous uptake began. The two Londons also reacted quite positively to the reset fairly quickly, while the two Zangrias took a bit longer. After about 2 days, a shift in my pH behavior became apparent, which was the point at which they also started working with the solution 🌱🐰
But of course, to keep things interesting, the two continued with their turgor problem at night… 🙃 I could have thrown up again when I had everything on track and saw that the problem still persisted 😅 But since I also have my moments and went through the individual parameters systematically, I noticed that they were already having trouble stabilizing at night under low light pressure. This was, of course, due to the rehab and also represents a small paradox, as everything indicated that I should continue to reduce the pressure =D 🐰 The ladies were already ahead of me 😄🌿 With increased light pressure, the leaf structure also improved significantly. I hope that this is the end of the bigger question marks for now, and I'm curious to see what the divas come up with next 😄🐰
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
Early in the week, it became apparent that growth was picking up nicely again 😊 I took advantage of the momentum (@Momentum ;D) to select directly for eight main stems on the three more stable plants. Hopefully, a few decent rockets will come out of that 🚀😄
I topped Zangria No. 1 at the beginning of the week. For her, I only started LST later in the week, aside from the additional selection. The goal here is to spread her out until the others catch up in height =) Two sun sails also had to go 🍃
I also topped Zangria No. 2, but much later than the others, as she had shown hardly any movement for the longest time 🐢 However, she is slowly starting to work again 😊
London Fog No. 1 is completely escalating =D 🔥 The crinkled leaves are history, and she is literally exploding. She is topped and selected 🌿 I will probably start removing the secondary stems gradually soon to get more light inside. Cola – we need cola =D I've also been doing LST on her since the beginning.
London Fog No. 2 is acting like nothing ever happened =D When I think back on it, the whole thing was really close to disaster; the leaves from the last update all wilted shortly after the post 😅 I have now also topped her one stem that she pushed out, to see if I can still coax a bit more out of her 😄🌱 It currently looks like a success. I haven't selected anything on her yet and will let her grow a bit taller first to be able to choose better later =)🌿

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
The rehab phase is over, and I can slowly start to apply more pressure 🔥🐰
After the last update and the adjustments made there, the system has really started to work. The EC uptake has increased nicely, and the ladies have started to push 🚀 There's nothing better =D Under these conditions, I've ramped up the system further. First, I gradually increased the light intensity and gave the plants one to two cycles to see how they handle it. When I reached about 470 µmol, I added CO₂ and adjusted the climate and VPD accordingly =) At first, I tested a 5-liter generator, but it simply wasn't enough for our system 😅 I've since upgraded to a 7-kg bottle, and everything has been running consistently and smoothly since then 💪 The whole thing is controlled via an Inkbird with CO₂ control and a timer. I then continued to build pressure until I noticed that around 1300 ppm and 580 µmol was the limit 😅 At that point, the leaf structure became noticeably more restless, and the first burn marks were visible. Although the damage only occurred on one of the Zangrias, I didn't want to take any risks just before the stretch 😬 I then immediately lowered the light back to about 520 µmol and reduced CO₂ to 1100–1200 ppm. I'm currently leaving the climate as is; more pressure will be applied during the stretch =D 🔥🐰
What I've also noticed: Under tight conditions, a 6-hour night is simply too intense. That's why I've lowered the night temperature back to 23 °C and will likely approach this differently in the next run under pressure =) Overall, this has been the strongest veg week so far 💪🌱 I've continued training and prepared the net. The girls have really performed well under CO₂ and the adjusted parameters; aside from a few small burns and residual issues, I'm really happy 😊
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
The net is in, and we're ready for 12/12🔥 This time, I'll try to focus a bit more on cola structure. I'm using the net just to spread and make the stretch a bit more controllable 😊
Zangria No1 is doing really well =D 💚 She's a bit taller and airier in structure, which is why I'm currently holding her down a bit with LST until the others catch up 🌿⬇️ A few older leaves and secondary shoots had to go as well. The light burns have only occurred on her ⚠️
Zangria No2 is growing similarly to her big sister 🌿 I've mainly worked with LST on her to get light to all the shoots 💡 Under these conditions, everything is growing very bushy, causing leaves to quickly shade individual shoots. A few secondary shoots also had to go here. Otherwise, no abnormalities 😊
London Fog No1 just keeps being a monster =D 🔥 She's just devouring the EC and all my experiments 💪 It's going to be really exciting to see how she performs compared to her sister. No1 has taken on all the training: topping, selecting, and LST 🌿 Her sister was only topped.
London Fog No2, the one I almost wrote off, has completely exploded under the ramps 🚀🔥 She's almost overtaken her sister, and I'm really curious to see which of the two performs better in the end 😄 Both Londons are currently running completely stress-free 😊

After the fine-tuning last week and the plants' reaction to it, I decided: it’s Flower time =D =D They responded well to the slightly more relaxed values, and I really wanted to play it safe to have a clean stretch 😊
What I noticed is that under the current pressure in the system, I get problems with my water extremely quickly..
My source water is very soft and generally really well-suited, but magnesium doesn’t quite fit.
This has really crystallized over the pH behavior in this run. As soon as I prepare fresh solution and calcium/magnesium comes back in, they pull it away immediately 😅 At this phase, the pH drops significantly every time. Once it’s a bit less in relation, everything normalizes again and the pH slowly goes back up. This runs quite consistently for me, and the EC continues to drop normally. The plant appearance is also fine, and there are no abnormalities in growth 💚 It became relatively clear to me that they are probably specifically pulling Ca/Mg out in the first phase, and that’s exactly where it shows that my magnesium level in the source water is simply too low under the circumstances.
That was more or less a real Aha moment 😄 I knew that everything should fit under the load and that uptake would go wild, but I didn’t expect that a single value being off would cause problems so quickly.
I never noticed this in my previous runs =D Probably just because the system wasn’t ramped up like this and you could still let things run somewhat 😅 Under pressure, that doesn’t work so easily anymore. That’s why I’m now starting with Epsom from the beginning and building up my magnesium cleanly before I even prepare my nutrient solution 😊
I’m just hoping that the addition stabilizes things a bit and that the pattern changes accordingly 😊🌿 Currently, I can get about two to three cycles in before I’m pretty sure that the magnesium is too low again and I need to adjust. If that runs smoothly, it would definitely be a relief for me 😊💚 Otherwise, I’m really satisfied with the stretch start; they’ve built up good biomass and are developing very stably overall 💪
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
Zangria No1 is still doing well =D 💚 I think she’s still suffering a bit from the magnesium issue, but I’m going to actively counter that now =) She has built up quite a bit of biomass, but the height push is still taking its time 🌿 No other abnormalities, I actually like her quite a lot now 😊
Zangria No2 has also woken up from her "deep sleep" =D 💚 At first, she was the most sensitive, reacting directly to the light ramp. After I dialed it down a bit and gave her a few cycles to recover, she has stood up nicely. I’ve even been able to go beyond the point where she previously had problems 💪 Currently, no noticeable leaf issues, the tips look good, and overall she seems stable again. Still like her big sister, just smaller 💚
London Fog No1 is just completely going crazy =D 🔥 The bush is still really pushing. At the beginning of the switch, I selected carefully again and removed almost all side shoots so that only the eight tops would work. That lasted exactly two or three cycles, then she started pushing out new shoots everywhere again 😅 And not small ones, but big enough that you’d have to consider taking them with you again 😄 My plan now is to only roughly select and let the rest run for now. They’ll be removed later when lollipopping anyway ✂️ If she maintains this performance, it will definitely be exciting in the end 🔥
London Fog No2 is currently the underdog that has completely exploded =D 💚 I basically did nothing with her, except for a quick top in the hope of turning one shoot into two. What has come out of that is just wild 🌿 There’s so much biomass now that I can’t even say how many shoots are actually on her 😄 The only thing I’m currently doing is a bit of leaf tucking, also because she’s sitting quite awkwardly in the back corner and you can’t really get to her well. I’m also waiting for her upward push so that there’s a bit more space in the middle 😊🌱 Later, when lollipopping, I’ll go in radically and select everything cleanly afterwards. What really surprises me about her is that she was almost done at the beginning, and now she’s standing next to her sister and you can hardly tell the difference anymore 💚

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
At the beginning of the week, I had to do a major defoliation. As a result, we slightly fell behind schedule, but I'm convinced it was the right move =)
I noticed at the start of the week that the plants are extremely vigorous, growing very bushy, and massively investing in biomass due to the tight internodes. The problem was that even the previously selected shoots were partially completely shaded out; it just turned into too much of a jungle..😅
Even though we are in the middle of the stretch (week 2) and the timing for that is anything but ideal, I decided to go for a bigger defoliation. ✂️ The background was that I had previously heavily selected the plants (3 plants with 8 shoots each), and this structure wouldn't have made it cleanly through the leaf mass without intervention. Accordingly, I removed a large part of the leaf mass per plant (estimated ~70%) and also killed all newly emerging sites. Mainly, I stayed under the net =)
In DWC, such interventions usually balance out quite quickly if everything fits. Accordingly, I limited the defoliation to one evening and then consciously brought complete calm to the system to exclude additional stress factors 🌱 Since then, I've been checking daily, especially for pollen sacs, but luckily so far without any abnormalities. I definitely don't plan to mess with the ladies in that window again =D.. I expected a lot but not this biomass under pressure.. With the additional silica, the leaves are naturally like tree trunks, and just tucking them in doesn't work anymore =D
In parallel, I've been gradually increasing the nutrient solution 💧 Currently, I'm proceeding by removing partial amounts from the system and replacing them with a higher concentrated refill solution to control the EC in the reservoir.
The plants have overall recovered quickly and haven't completely stopped growing, but they are currently growing a bit slower than hoped; who would have thought 😅 Accordingly, we are only now getting cleanly through the net.
The crucial point for me was simply the experience that the stretch in DWC often lasts significantly longer. Based on that, I took the risk and went through with the measure. It seemed to me that it would be more stress for the plant to fight through its own jungle than to help a bit.
After seeing that they accepted the intervention well and the promoted tops started pushing as planned, I raised the system again.🔥🐰
Aside from the currently slightly delayed height growth, I'm satisfied with how they've handled it all. Also, there are still no signs of stress in the form of things you don't want to see 😄
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
Zangria No1 has responded well to the defoliation; the two Zangrias have generally handled it really well and reacted very quickly. 💪 What I notice about both is that they are growing rather bushy and a bit more compact. Otherwise, completely unremarkable – no new damage, all good =) 👍
Zangria No2 is basically running exactly like her big sister. However, I made the mistake of wanting to synchronize the selection relatively early and left two lower shoots because they were simply the thickest at that time. These haven't fully come up yet, but I think that will happen over time =) It was overall a bit of a bumpy start phase; I have the impression she's still having some issues with it.😅 Otherwise, you can't really complain about her; she's basically running just like the big sister =)
London Fog No1 is still a picture-perfect plant. Growth-wise, she's a bit more restrained than her untrained sister, but still has a nice spread and plenty of power.🔥 The Londons have completely taken over the system and are reacting much more intensely to the current parameters than the Zangrias. I definitely think she will deliver if I don't mess up in the final stretch =D However, while spreading in the net, one shoot broke off; unfortunately, it couldn't be saved, so I removed it cleanly and will just continue with seven.. shit happens.😄
London Fog No2 has completely escalated. 🚀 In terms of height growth, she has just consistently shot up. Unfortunately, I missed the timing to spread her out properly. I defoliated her first and then realized she was already too far above the net to do that properly. So, I bent the shoots down significantly to control the height growth a bit; not ideal in this phase, but I wanted to reduce the height difference a bit. You can definitely feel the difference compared to the trained plants; she just keeps pushing up with full force =D

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
This week I completed the last defoliation and the lollipopping, and from now on I'm just letting them grow 😊 Relatively quickly after the last update, the stretch reached its peak. The Londons have really exploded =D.. 🚀
After a few days, my EC measurements indicated that the ladies' nutrient hunger was slowly decreasing and moving back into a normal range. That was my sign that the stretch was coming to an end and I should adjust the last schedule in the reservoir. I did that by replacing 80 percent of the old solution with a new part using a Flower schedule. I've also started using Epsom salt, and I already have the impression that it's stabilizing the system a bit =)💧 I'm still operating in the EC range where I've measured a good uptake pattern.
After changing the solution, I waited for another cycle to see how they would react 😊 Once everything was in the green zone, I lollipopped the ladies and from now on I'm just letting them grow. 🌱
In the meantime, I really pushed the light to the limit. However, since I've run out of CO₂ and haven't managed to refill the bottle yet, I've taken a more relaxed approach here to avoid risking too much. The bags just aren't delivering consistently enough to grill them like that unfortunately =D.. You could also see some light stress already.
I'll try to catch up this week, depending on how I manage it with work... 😅
All in all, I'm very satisfied with the week. I never expected the Londons to explode like this and I hope the Zangrias get enough light now. It was definitely interesting again, and 2x2 Genetic Cross sends its regards =D 🔥🐰
🌿 Plant Status & Training 🌿
Zangria No1 is still growing rather compact compared to the Londons. Here I only did some lollipopping and left a few more sides than planned =D 🌿
I must admit I didn't expect such a height difference at all, and I hope that maybe I'll get a few more sides that can utilize the light properly.
Zangria No2 – by now I believe that the apical dominance has thrown a wrench in my plans. Under the current push, three shoots have clearly established themselves and are growing dominantly in height, while the others have remained more compact at net height. I'm curious to see how it will develop. Otherwise, I really like both of them =)
London No1 – still completely crazy what this genetics is doing. The tent belongs to the Londons, and I have to keep removing leaves so the Zangrias don't get overshadowed =D 🌿🔥
I took a few more shoots from her just to create a bit more airflow. Otherwise, I'm just letting her grow now too 😊
London No2 – here I've also completely cleared the middle from the bottom out of the net. I'm really blown away when you think about what a sad little thing she used to be 😂
She's just the bush in the tent, which was somewhat expected since I basically let her do her thing.
To avoid getting too dense at the top and to counteract mold a bit, I've thinned her out as much as possible.
It's definitely impressive what she's turned into =D 🔥

A lovely Sunday once again ☀️😊🐰
This week was a total nightmare, lots of chaos, lots of improvisation 😅 I'm really curious to see what else is coming =D
Probably a lot of it is due to the fact that I started adding CO₂ quite early in late veg. The idea behind it was to make up for the poor veg a bit before going into flower 🌱 What turned out to be a problem was that the Londons reacted much better and really exploded.. I had to defoliate during the stretch so their own biomass wouldn't damage their tops under the net. With light training, it just couldn't be controlled anymore =DD That was already maximum stress for the ladies.. 😅 My next mistake was that I couldn't properly interpret the data again through the 2x2 cross. Those following along have noticed that the EC uptake pattern flattened out significantly after just about 2.5 weeks post-switch, which prompted me to switch the solution to the last scheme. However, it’s now clear that the Zangrias were the ones that finished earlier and started developing flowers 🌸🐰, while the Londons kept stretching diligently 🚀 Of course, exactly what I wanted to avoid happened, and a few days ago I found starting pollen. However, these occurred exclusively under the net and at the defo interfaces, mostly only sporadically and not in larger clusters 🔍🐰 Since we theoretically only have about five weeks left, I've decided to check every day now and remove anything I find immediately 😊
I've had a similar situation before, and usually, you can manage it relatively well if you really try to remove everything before anything can pollinate. Of course, you don't catch everything, and there will definitely be a few seeds in the end. It won't win any competitions, but from experience, the seeds under these circumstances usually limit themselves to local flower clusters, and the effect generally suffers only to a limited extent 😊 Especially with the genetics and since I removed the pollen very early, I currently assume that this will remain manageable 👍

Zangria No1 is really looking good – nice pre-flowers and a compact growth 🌱 She came out of the stretch significantly earlier and seems very stable overall =) I just hope she gets enough light with the huge London..
Zangria No2 is basically running like her sister – nice pre-flowers and already very compactly stacked 🌿 The sides could push a bit more, but I also think that the end result will be more than fine =)
London No1/2 are now just being treated as one huge organism =D I really burned my fingers here – and their leaves... 😅 My hope to keep them under control through training has completely gone overboard. Both are stuck under the lamp and there's nothing left going up =D … In a last act of desperation, I started tying them down a bit and adding LST clips where it still made sense 😊 I think the worst is now over, and I just hope I can somehow get through flower relatively cleanly =D

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
This week was definitely more relaxed and everything looks a bit better now 🌱
I'm actually really happy with how they are doing right now 😊 After the first wave of young pollen formation, which I mostly removed, nothing new has come up or any new clusters have appeared =D Of course, I still check every day, but I couldn't find anything else. In terms of growth, they have also slowed down a bit, which I'm really glad about 😅 – the lamp distance is already quite critical..
Due to the 2x2 cross and the fact that the Londons have completely run away from me, I'm unfortunately a bit handicapped.. My options for further tying down are somewhat limited, as I would otherwise take too much light from the Zangrias and unfortunately don't have optimal access to the tent from all sides.
Currently, I'm just trying to adjust a bit every day, and if it gets too close, I try to tie them down while shading as little as possible 😊🌿
I'm currently just letting my solution run 💧 and regularly adding 20 liters of freshly adjusted solution as a top-up. I'm doing quite well with that. I haven't quite hit the sweet spot yet 🎯, as I'm currently measuring a slight upward trend in EC, but I'm still working on that 😊🐰
Since the buds are slowly starting to stack and I can't see any signs of pollination, I think this could still turn out really well 🚀🔥😊

Zangria No1 is continuing to develop well =D I've noticed that she currently has slightly smaller buds than her little sister 🌸, but otherwise everything is great. Frost has set in and she is clearly starting to build up =DD 🔥
Zangria No2 – small but fine 😄 She has really nice, full flower clusters 🌸 and I'm hoping a bit that everything will push together and give beautiful rockets in the end 🚀 She is also showing nice frost formation =))
The London organism has finally switched over and you can definitely see that there is potential there 💪🐰 She started frosting significantly later, but her flower clusters are now looking really nice 🌸 With both, I'm still trying to tie them down as best as I can every day without taking too much light from the Zangrias. Still a bit chaotic, but I think it's manageable =D

The week went as expected, absolutely relaxed =)
I think I've managed to get the last major issue caused by height under control to some extent. Everything is now at an okay height, and no more buds are getting fried by the light =D🔥
I’ll probably have to do some more defoliation to get more air into the middle, but otherwise, everything looks like they have nothing to complain about =) The only big thing I'm currently doing is tracking consumption and adjusting regularly so they don't run out of solution =D💧
Right now, I'm still slightly too high, in case someone wants to use that as a reference =) I think the sweet spot should currently be around 1.4 EC under the prevailing conditions. At the moment, I'm running at 1.5 since the consumption relative to the solution consumption is still in the green zone 🌱😊
The conclusion is definitely to do my homework better in the future and make sure the strains aren't so drastically different =D 🌿
I will only be adding CO₂ in the flower stage in this system as well; that was a real lesson for me.. 😅
Otherwise, very, very nice pre-flower 🌸😊 everything is getting frosty, and it’s slowly starting to smell like a Sangria coma drinking event 🍷😅
If it continues like this, I think it will stabilize after all =) I still can't find any new pollen. I check very thoroughly every day, but aside from the few I probably overlooked, everything is safe.
I suspect that this was a reaction to the poorly timed defoliation during the stretch. I'm really curious to see what comes out of it in the end =D

Zangria No1 is developing slightly different flowers than her sister. I'm not exactly sure if one or two seeds snuck in here :S It's actually almost impossible since I have good access to the Zangrias and removed everything meticulously, but you can never know 😅 What confuses me a bit is that she looks almost finished with her pretty stacked calyxes, while her sister has a completely different look.
I somehow hope that this is just phenotypically conditioned; we will see 😊 Otherwise, really top-notch 💯 Frost is there, and stacking looks good 🔥 It can keep going like this =D 🚀
Zangria No2 surprises me once again 😄 I think she’s going to produce some serious rockets =)) Really fat flower clusters that, if everything goes well, will definitely grow into each other to about 20 cm in length =DD 🚀 Definitely the chunkier genetics, if we want to call it that 😊
The London organism has also stopped doing wild things =D 😮💨
Growth is thankfully through now, and they are starting to frost nicely ❄️ What I've noticed about them is that the buds are visually more foxtailing. However, I don't think this is due to a mistake, but rather that they are leaning more towards Sativa and naturally form somewhat airier buds. Since it's identical for both and I've only been able to observe insane vitality with them, I believe this is simply due to the genetics themselves =)
If anyone has experience with the genetics, feel free to share what experiences you've had =D I couldn't find much about it back then…
I still hope they become a bit more compact =D
But otherwise, very promising here too 🔥🐰

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
This week everything went smoothly for a change 😊🙏 I’ve initiated the finish and to be honest, I just want to check it off =D
At the beginning of the week, I removed a lot of leaves again to get more light and air into the jungle 😊🐰 From now on, I’ll keep my hands off. It’s so dense that with any further intervention, I would inevitably damage the buds.
Mold prevention is still being handled with the four clip fans paired with slightly higher exhaust. So far, I’ve had good experiences with this even in a very dense canopy =)
Since the last few weeks have been relatively calm and I haven’t noticed any further stress reactions, I’ve decided on a final part finish 🌱
What I’ve noticed: I have quite dark leaves again 😅 even though the solution was really reactive this time and we’ve been quite low in nitrogen for almost two weeks. The leaf appearance just doesn’t match the actual N amount in the solution anymore.
The only explanation I can come up with is that it’s more of a VPD/transpiration issue combined with the now extremely dense canopy, and they’re just storing more in some areas than they can process directly 🐰🌿
I’ll make adjustments in the next run 😊 I hope that by achieving a more homogeneous RF distribution, I can get a more even VPD throughout the tent =) 🌫️
The room where my setup is just doesn’t allow for a free flow, as it’s as dry as the Sahara =DD ☀️🔥
The leaf images don’t allow for too many interpretations anymore 😅 as I have a few crispy spots here and there due to the lamp at the beginning.. 🔥
I’m really satisfied with the genetics so far. They look really top-notch ✨🐰

I also want to briefly mention how I managed my solution this round, as it somehow got completely overlooked this time.. 😅
I did 4 titrations and titrated the specified manufacturer’s scheme for the different phases onto my input water 💧
I used these values to calculate the desired EC, to stick to the specified scheme, and still reactively address the plants =)
This time, I also made a large change for cleanliness at each phase transition 😊
Additionally, before I build any scheme, I smooth my water with Epsom salt.
I think with these SOPs, you have a solution that you can’t really mess with, unless you whip yourself with cross genetics in a tank 😊🐰

The whole tent smells like it’s already harvest time, totally awesome =DD
Zangria No1 continues to develop really well 😊🌿 Heavy bag appeal, and considering she still has at least 2 weeks ahead, she’s really impressive. Everything is sparkling ✨ and the smell is now brutally fruity and delicious.
I’m trying to make slight adjustments here and there to get a bit more light on her ☀️ but with the fat London next door, that’s a bit of a challenge... 😭
Zangria No2 is developing similarly to her sister 🌿 but visibly different in terms of flowering 😊🌱
Same frost ❄️ and bag appeal, but currently fewer swollen calyxes and more of a broader structure.
I’m getting more and more annoyed with the light situation with her.. ☀️ Those would have turned into real wrecks =D.. Let’s see what she does under these conditions.
The London organism has also started to frost up nicely ❄️ Unfortunately, everything was a bit borderline with the distance to the lamp 🔥 which doesn’t make her leaves look too pretty. Looks like a good accident =D
However, I still think she’s developing in a mega direction. Nicely filled branches that will partly grow into decent colas 😊 She smells rather creamy sweet, I don’t know how else to describe it.
I’m glad I pushed through with this and really curious to see how she will stand after the chaos 😄🌱✨

🌱 Weekly Update 🌱
Overall, the week went pretty relaxed 😊🙏 I had a brief VPD crash due to my dehumidifier, but otherwise everything is great 🌿✨
I think we’re slowly heading towards the finish line 😄 I expect a maximum of 2 weeks and I'm now just letting the run taper off slowly 🐰🌱
In the reservoir, there’s still only Final Part, and I’m regularly topping it up with just water + Epsom and CalMag =)
Regarding the VPD situation 😅 I briefly had a mold PTSD moment 😭 and ran the dehumidifier for 2 days. Since I was hitting around 32 degrees due to the heat generated by the useful device, and without it I barely land at 63 RF, I decided to take it out again 😊
Instead, I set up a large standing fan angled from below into the canopy. I think that should be enough to prevent mold, as it was important for me to get a somewhat tasty finish in this already chaotic run.
With the dehumidifier, I would have been safer, but it would have definitely had 70 percent more hay flavor =DD

It was already the smaller one from the start, and with the huge London next to it, it hasn’t received nearly enough light. You can really see it when opening the tent 😅
Still, top flower here too, looks super delicious and frosty ❄️
I also think something will happen in the last weeks 😊🔥

Starting to stack the buds and holy shit 😂 at first I thought: Oh man, total foxtails, this is going to be very fluffy.. Now I just think: Wow =DD✨ Top buds 🌸 nicely stacked and very frosty ❄️

I've had quite a lot on my plate lately, so everything's a bit delayed 😅🙏
At the beginning of the week, I started harvesting ✂️
Due to a rather spontaneous trip coming up and wanting to get a proper run in beforehand, I just dove right in.
The trichomes weren't quite amber yet, but since I wasn't getting a nice finish anyway due to the light distance and the escalating London situation, I decided not to wait another week 😅🌱
In parallel, I started new ones, but more on that in the next diary =)
Short and sweet about the Zangrias 🍃
It really showed that the light management with the London was completely subpar 😭
So much potential and really beautiful compact buds that were fun to trim ✂️
However, I was a bit disappointed with the result of **191.12 g full trimmed** 😅
I really expected more from it. However, I still have a seed from her in the fridge and will definitely start a redeem run again =DD 🚀🐇🔥
In terms of terps, she's also rather quiet. I think she just couldn't fully unleash her potential next to the monster bush..
There’s a gentle fruity Zangria note present, but definitely room for improvement 😅🌱

Completely wrecked me.. Really just on all levels =DD
First, there was this completely ridiculous move of mine not even looking at the parent lines, which made it grow completely over my head. This led to heat spikes, slight bleaching, and foxtailing.
Not pretty 😅 but what can you do...
On top of that, the stress-hermies from the forced defoliation during stretch ✂️
Really just pure chaos 😂
However, when I started taking the first cuttings, I realized that I would probably spend the next 4 days just sitting there with my scissors trimming as if I had never done anything else..
And that's exactly how it was =DD
That's why there was no update here.
The two just brought in **full trimmed wet 2004.43 g** on the scale, and I didn't find any seeds either.
Definitely not the prettiest buds 😅, but quite frosty and also pretty strong in terms of terpene profile, even though they were stuck under the lamp 🌞 They smell creamy-sweet with a hint of lemon 🍋✨
For me, it was definitely the big surprise of the round 😳🐰 But I won't put them back in my tent =D

I moved out of my parents' house in 1996 and immediately started growing after I was lucky enough to watch my mentor R.I.P. who taught me everything for 2-3 years. Since then, I've been hooked on this plant.😉
