PapaTerps Gary Patron - Nine Weeks Harvest
Hello, SPRING is upon us and grows that I had started before and around Christmas are now well into their flowering period or harvested, so I decided to select another few strains to start growing for Spring and into Summer. š
Gary Patron by Nine Weeks Harvest is a hybrid strain, and a cross of Gary Payton and Runtz - I've had this on my grow list for some time, so I'm happy to finally get to germinate and grow this beaut! I've selected this one specifically for is fruity and nutty flavours as well as its energizing and creative affects, which will be perfect for the daytime!
Link: https://nineweeksharvest.com/producto/gary-patron/
As always, you are all more than welcome to follow along with my grow, I will try to put as much information about my process without overloading the diary with "too much language" ensuring to keep the key points and not to repeat steps that I have already mentioned in the diary š I haven't been that lucky with this brand, but hopefully this one goes well, so wish me luck! Happy Growing guys! ā
Day 1 - Seed dropped into a cup of water, RO and pH'd to 6.3. She will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears.
Day 2 - Seed has popped and a taproot has started to appear, but I think she needs a few more hours to get to where she needs to be, before she gets into her starter potšš» At least she's ahead of the other strain from this brand!! I've removed a few ml of water from the cup, to ensure the seedling gets enough oxygen šš»
Day 3 - man... Nine Weeks Harvest germination rates are TERRIBLE... The seed popped and a small Taproot has appeared, but the taproot just doesn't grow or it takes a really long time to grow but then dies because the seed runs out of nutrients... The Monaco strain I had tried before started to grow but then died after five attempts, I think this is going to follow that as well... A shame... Anyway, I've planted her in the starter pot and I'll give her a couple of weeks to grow, if she failed, I'll replace this diary with something else š¤š»
Day 5 - she looks like she's just about to pop out of the soil, but I'm still not convinced that she'll survive just yet. For now, I'm just going to let her do her thing šš»
Okay, so shell and membrane removed manually and starter leaves are out... She's looking healthy too, so maybe we might actually get to see a strain from this breeder šš»
Day 8 - yep, she's just an extremely slow germinater... Her starter leaves have opened up and her first set of leaves are now growing šš» I've moved all the seedlings into larger starter pots, to allow them to grow a bit more before I move them into their main grow pots - this is mainly to buy me another week or two, to finish off the plants that are currently in my veg tent šš»
Day 11 - she has grown really well, she's just about to enter veg! So far, so good šŖš»

Day 14 - She has developed her first set of leaves and is now working on the second, her stem has also started to thicken-up, so from today I consider her "in veg" š While shes in her starter pot, she has been recieving 100ml of RO tap water pH'd to 6.3 with Root Juice and the CalMag, which brings the pH to 6.5. every second day. She will remain in her start pot for another few days while I wait for the Monaco to enter veg, so I can plant them all on the same day š

Day 29 - I've watered her with 1L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3. I've altered her nutrients from this week, switching the fish mix out for the bio grow, I've also started to introduce bloom nutrients, as I prepare her for the 12 hour light schedule; she will need a couple more weeks of veg before she begins this transition šš». From next week, her water volume will increase and she will begin her training šš»

Day 36 - I've watered her with 1.5L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3. Lots of work done on her this week, she had a few of her fan leaves removed to improve airflow and light penetration and she has been topped šš» She now has eight stems for me to work with. So after all this stress, I will leave her to grow for a week or so and then I will start prepping her for flower šš»šø

Day 44 - I've watered her with 2L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3. She's in week 5 of veg now, so it's time to start preparing her for bloom, so I've increased her bloom nutrients and watering volume! I've also performed the big pre-bloom defoliation, removing all fan leaves that block light or airflow and any node lower that the top two or three nodes šŖš» I've also started some LST on her, pinning her side stems down and away from the main stem, to ensure that when her flower starts to grow, they're not impeded by other stems šš»

Day 54
šæ This week, I've watered her twice, with 2L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients mixed individually, in order and then pH'd to 6.3. I've upped her nutrients again, by 0.5 to prepare her for veg next week. I will increase the BioHeaven and Acti-Vera by 0.5 again for the next feed onwards.
āļø My goal was to have topped two levels on this girl last week, but she wasn't big enough, and as the light schuedle switch to 12 is next week for this tent, I had to perform the topping now to allow her enough time to recover from the stress of losing two main nodes! So right now, she looks a bit raggity, but I have no doubt that she'll bounce back by the end of the week šŖ I have completed my work on her now, so from now on, I will just let her grow š
āļø She has grown well so far, albeit a tad slower than her peers, and has a good amount of growing before the switch, so I hope she speeds up a bit this week, I will bump the BioHeaven and Acti-Vera to boost her metabolism š

šæ Watered her with 2L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3. I haven't increased her nutrients just yet, but the bloom nutrients will be increased when she starts to show signs of flower šš»
āļø She started the switch over to 12-12 a few days also, where I gradually reduced the light schedule from 18 to 12, because of this, she's had no work done to her, to ensure she has enough energy start her stretch šŖš»
šø She has started her 12 hour light schedule today, so she should start to see changes in her grow patterns over the next few days, but nothing of note just yetšš»

Day 74šæ Watered her with 2L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3. I've increased her nutrients over the last few waterings to ensure she's getting enough nutrients - she has been very thirsty of the last few days, so I've been watering her every second day.
āļø She's had no work done to her, because shes in the stretch phase, and I don't tend to perform any defoliation at this time - but she will require some work in the coming days, as she is quite bushy in her canopy.
šø She has stretched really well and is just over half way through that process, you can see her bud sites starting to develop - no realy smell of her yet, but I expect that to change in the coming days šš»

šæ Watered her with 2L of RO tap water, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.5 šš»
āļø She had a good amount of defoliation this week, she's been lollipopped and a number of larger fan leaves that were obstructing lower bud sites were removed - this will improve airflow in the tent and light penetration on the plant itself.
šø She has completed her stretch doubling her height, and is now focusing on developing and bulking her flower šŖš»

āļø No work required this week šŖš» but I have swapped her and the Night Ritual around in the 3x3, as the Night Ritual was smaller and fit better in the 2x4.
šø Shes in week six of bloom now, and has switched her energy from growing to developing and bulking her flower, she will continue to do this for another weed or so before entering the maturing phase!

Day 109
šæ I've watered her with 2L of RO tap water every second day, with defined nutrients, mixed individually in order and then pH'd to 6.3šš»
āļø I've removed a few of her larger fan leaves and sugar leaves from around the top of her canopy as well as the usual inspections for mold and pests - the inspections are done daily from about week 6-7 of bloom, to ensure nanners/pests/mold aren't effecting the plant.
šø Shes in week seven of bloom and is vigorously bulking her flower and maturing. Her buds are small golf ball sized nugs, and are dense and covered in trichomes. She doesn't have a whole lot of pistils so she is very much green dominant with a coating of sugar. Her aroma is also present now, very earth and pepper with notes of fruit, so the Gary Patron is very much present in her DNA. I know this brand stays "nine weeks harvest" but I think she'll need more time reach maturity, but we'll know more by next week šš»

Day 122
šæ I've watered her every three days with 2L of RO tap water, pH'd to 6.3šš» I'll be leaving her to dry back over the next couple of days in preperation for harvest, which is a few days from now šŖ
āļø No work on her this week, as I gaver her a good defoliation last week - she will be getting a wet trim and more defoliation a day or two before I harvest her.
šø Shes in week nine of bloom, and her flower is absolutely covered in trichomes, mabye the most I've ever seen - the majority of her trichomes have turned milky clear with some ambers starting to appear. Her pistils have also all dried and turned amber, which on the backing of her vibrant lime green flower with some purple tips, is both striking and inviting. I will leave her to finish maturation over the next couple of days, while I fight with the temperatures trying to keep them in the 20's with the weather we're having at the moment! I'd say shes about 3-5 days from harvest at this point š
I'm happy with the results - she started off a bit shaky and struggled a bit in early bloom, but thrived from mid to late very and produced some of the most beautiful flower I've seen! Her aroma is very Gary Payton with a fruity/gassy kick, I'm super excited to try this one, she's totally different to what I'd normally grow! Smoke to follow once she's cured

Day 125
šæ No watering for this week, she was left to dry back in preparation for harvest.
āļø I removed some of her fan and larger sugar leaves, I then chopped her at the base and hung her to dry in a dark cool environment with temperatures between 19-21 degrees Celsius and relative humidity set at 58-61% šš»
šø Start of week 10 bloom, and her trichomes have started to turn amber and all her pistils have dried and browned. She has been thoroughly flushed, so today is harvest days š
