This is my first competition and being new in cannabis growing world,
every strain is new to me, there are so many.
Royal Queen Seeds are the first seed bank I came across and it has a nice selection of strains.
It was a bit hard to choose something interesting.
When reading info on strains, info on AMG - Amnesia Mack Ganja caught my eye.
So I picked that one up.
On RQS website it says that harvest time is in October.
That's great as weather starts getting cold and rainy here in mid October.
I will be using RQS nutrients for this strain.
Easy Grow and Easy Bloom Booster come in tablets that are dissolved in water and
are used through vegetative and flowering stages.
Easy boost is slow releasing nutrient in small pellets (0,5-1,0cm) that is mixed with soil.
I used only 2 seeds from the pack. Dropped them in cup of water and after 36h shells broke open with tap root showing.
They were planted in 1l pots with my soil mix.
Soil mix - Coco-coir, quality poting soil, worm castings and perlite.
In one week plants grew to 7cm and are looking healthy.
Since I'm keeping the foil around the plants to keep moisture in,
I watered them only 2 times with RQS Easy Grow solution.
First day with 30ml of solution and on day 5 with 60ml of solution.
Plants only have 6-7h of direct sunlight from 13:00 till sunset, as they are grown on a balcony.
cya next week.
Welcome to week 2 !
This strain took me by surprise as she is developing at lighting speed.
Both plants doubled in size since last week. In height and width.
It's just amazing.
They look healthy and stems are really firm. I noticed when wind was blowing,
stems stood firmly and barely bent.
Also to note is that side branches are slowly starting to show.
My guess is how they are growing this fast that by the end of next week
they will be nicely developed.
I only feed them with RQS nutrients - RQS Easy Grow, 2 times a week.
It seems maybe its too much atm, as the soil doesn't dry out by the time I want to feed them.
So I reduced the amount from 90ml to 60ml per plant.
There is nothing more exciting to write about for this week, only to say that
plants are just beautiful to look at and observe how they grow and develop.
I'll see you all next week.
This week was transplant week for all my plants in garden.
3rd day into this week I moved them into 14l pots and
by the end of the week they grew 15cm more to a total height of 45cm.
The main stem thickened almost double in size.
INSANE.
They look beautiful but growing extremely fast and very tall.
I went in full tilt mode. Didn't know what to do.
All I saw in my mind was nasty neighbours eyeballing the plants and
blue rotary lights.
Immediately decision came to light and I laid them down.
The best decision I made that week 😅
I decided to try something else with these plants
and try to do a spiral around the pots as they grow.
Lets see how that goes.
Feeding was the same as the last week.
that's it for this week and cya all in the next lap I mean week 😎
These plants are small monsters and they grow like weed 😛
Every day you can literally see new growth.
They grow so fast and are very strong.
Since they outgrew the side of the pot I started bending the main stem
and pulling them around the side.
What I'm trying to accomplish here is bending them all the way 360°
and after completing the circle, go another lap on top of it.
Side branches are already 10cm in height.
I have no idea how what would the end result look like,
and how I'm gonna pull this off 😂
Well, one thing is for sure that this is fun.
I love working with plants, been doing that since I was a kid,
but this is on another level.
I just love it 😎
Feeding was the same as the last last week with small introduction of epsom salt.
cya all soon...
Little monsters are not giving up.
They're really filling the pot. 😀
I had to spread the branches a bit more as they were over 15cm in height.
Branches are gonna be pulled to the end of pot and from there,
let tops continue to grow vertically.
The main stem was also bent to follow the curve of the pot.
I had to twist the stem a bit so the side branches get more light.
All in all they grow like crazy. 😃
This week I gave them some Cal/Mg/Fe with Zeolite in powder form, around 18g.
It will slowly release and feed the plant and hopefully keep the pH in balance.
Everything else regarding feeding stayed the same.
cya all next week...
Nothing special happened this week actually accept one plant lost its top.
Heavy rain and wind started that evening so I must have did it accidentally
when I was moving the pots around balcony to safety.
I noticed it after 2 days when I spotted two new tops growing. 😑
I'm really curious how will this affect my idea of curving the plant around the pot since I'll have 2 tops to deal with.
Not that I'm complaining 😎
Feeding stayed the same.
cya next week...
This week was scorching hot with temp reaching over 35C.
Some leaves got burned unfortunately but plants are OK.
I had to put them in shade for few days until the temps dropped a bit.
They are growing really fast especially side branches.
I tied some of them closer to the pot to open up the middle parts of the plants.
Plants are following side of the pot and are at the 1/4 of the circle.
I don't think they will complete the circle before going into flowering.
There is about 40-45 days till flowering begins. That falls about at mid august.
Well that's my estimate.
Feeding stayed the same with RQS Easy Grow and this week I was foliar spraying my other plants so I sprayed them also with some FishMix.
That's about it and cya all next week.
Temps plummeted this week to 25°C with cold nights of 14-15°C.
One night temp dropped to 11°C. It felt like early winter.
I'm hoping this will change in the upcoming days as it's raining every days for at least few hours.
Totally crappy weather with no sunshine.
The plant growth kinda stalled. Don't know what's that all about.
pH levels are normal. One plant is at ph 6.0-6.2 and the other at pH 6.8-7.1.
They wont budge out of that range even thou I water them with solution of pH 6.5.
One thing I also noticed is that bottom leaves are yellowing and falling of.
It looks like N deficiency. Leaves slowly turn yellow and when there is no green on them they fall off.
Those are mostly the bottom ones and the ones inside the canopy.
I'm giving them prescribed doze of Easy Grow. 1 tablet in 4l of water and give each plant 2l.
Perhaps Easy Grow is not enough at this stage and the downside is that I only got 3 tablets left.
That's about for 3 more weeks of feeding.
I should continue with Fish-Mix after I run out of tablets so the plants don't starve out.
cya all next week.
Weather turned to hot again and plants grew this week a lot.
I tied some of the branches again to allow more sunlight.
After looking at the plants I came to conclusion that it's better to trim off small growing branches and branches that are poorly developed, that will in the end give really small flowers.
Bottom branches and some new growth were cut off.
No point in having it there when the sunlight barely hits them and they just take energy from the plant.
Feeding was as usual with Easy Grow and water.
That's about it for this week.
cya o/
This week the plants grew really tall and I had to supercrop them.
Tallest top was around 70cm.
Since we're closing into blooming stage, few more weeks to go, I decided to cut off any small branches, curly small leaves and other unwanted foliage and just keep the large and developed branches.
If these plants were planted directly in ground, they would be towering monsters, I kid you not.
The thickness of branches in comparison to Honey Cream that I grow beside them is huge.
Too bad that the plant is sparse with side branches but I guess that's how sativa strains grow.
There will be around 6-7 tops per plant in the end.
cya next week.
This week got hit with rain. A bit of cooling helped the plants from the previous hot week.
Last day of the week I supercropped them for the last time.
If I didn't do that they would definitely be over 1m tall by the time flowering starts.
The plants didn't have many branches in the first place so making them bushier will help producing more buds. I hope.
I fed them last RQS Easy Grow tablet. Too bad I don't have any more.
What I have left from RQS is Easy Boost, but that will be used in the period of flowering.
For the continuing weeks I'll be feeding them with BioBizz Fish-Mix until they start flowering.
It's also organic so the soil won't be affected.
cya all next week.
From last week's supercorping, plants recovered nicely and grew few more cm.
Branches got thicker and there is actually a denser growth visible.
They are getting somewhat bushier.
Feeding schedule was changed this week. Since I don't have RQS Easy Grow any more I switched to BioBizz Fish-Mix.
Organic molasses and MagnifiCal was also introduced into their feeding schedule.
MagnifiCal is used once a week and molasses between feeding.
cya all next week.
This was the happiest week for me.
By the end of this week plants showed their first pistils. I could see that all plants are FEMALES !!!! 💪
Wow, this is great, I can't express my content. The whole time in back of my mind there was a constant worry if plants would turn out to be males.
Now, that bridge is crossed and the early pre flowering stage began, I'm planing to do some defoliation next week.
That part of balcony doesn't have that much light and lower part of the plant is really not that developed so removing some leaves with help.
I should have done this long time ago and since I don't have any experience I left them to grow as they are.
This is something I will definitely pay attention to, next season.
This week I introduced RQS Easy Boost for flowering stage and reduced Fish-Mix to 2ml/l.
Plants started to drink a bit more than before.
Every feeding they drink up to 2.5l and they get fed twice a week with day or two of dry periods.
That's about it for this great week and can't wait to see what the next week will bring.
cya all next week
So, this is first week of real flowering and I must say buds are developing rapidly.
Just by comparing previous week with this one, size of bud sites doubled in size and plants grew 10cm more since last week.
I mentioned last week that I will defoliate plants. Since these are sativa plants there wasn't too much of defoliation to do.
By removing big fan leaves and cleared the insides of plants the plants look see through enough and finally sunlight was shining through out the whole plant and plants didn't show any signs of stress.
What I have noticed when defoliating is that one plant is more sativa than the other.
On pictures Day 93_1 and Day 93_3 the difference can be seen.
One has really thin leaves while the other has more wider leaves.
Also the bud balls are really huge when comparing them to Honey Cream.
All in all, I'm happy how plants turned out.
Feeding stayed the same as last week.
I just realized that I only got 1 1/2 tablets of easy grow and I that wont be enough to complete the flowering cycle.
The package suggests to put 1 tablet in 5-8l of water, so to stretch it I use half the tablet in 5l and that's enough just for one week of feeding.
So, I only have left for 2 weeks of feeding.
After I use them, I'll be switching to Bio-Bloom.
Too bad I didn't have more as I'd really like to see the product work it's magic till the end.
That's all folks for this week and I'll see you in the next one.
This plant is developing really fast. Very impressive.
Bud sites are forming and trichomes are popping up.
Last week I did some defoliation and results can be seen already.
Both plants have developed buds from top to bottom of branches.
I did separate branches apart a bit by rope to give buds more room to fatten and to allow more sunlight into the plants.
I wasn't expecting this kind of growth and I'm pleasantly surprised by the shape that the plants are getting.
They're gonna get beautiful in couple of weeks. 😍
Feeding was the same as last week.
This is it for this week. See you in the next one.
There was a sudden temp drop this week, from 33°C to 22°C at day and to 12-15°C at night.
One night was at 7°C. It felt like winter and summer was just turned off with a switch.
Plants took it well with no stress of any kind, they just started to smell stronger.
Since last defoliation, they bushed a bit and the plan is to defoliate them next week one more time.
Buds are shaping up and are getting really wide. They look like small pyramids.
I wonder how big they're gonna get.
The smell is something citrusy with some sharp notes I still can't register.
I continued to feed them with Easy Boost, 1/4 tablet per 2.5l of water.
Twice a week, each plant gets 1.25l of nutrient solution with pH water between feedings.
At the beginning of week I defoliated the plants one last time. I removed most of the big fan leaves, leaving some on tops and sparingly over some branches.
All main branches are now receiving sunlight. There are no shadowy spots any more.
Plants didn't show any kind of stress and after couple of days, there can be seen huge growth of buds.
When taking closer look of the buds, trichomes are everywhere, even on fan leaves. It really looks impressive.
I didn't expect this kind of growth in just a few days.
Feeding was twice a week with Easy Boost, 1/4 tablet per 2.5l of water.
Each plant gets 1.25l of nutrient solution with pH water between feedings.
Beginning of this week came with low temps and rain. There were couple of nights with temps dropped to 4°C.
It's interesting that in this cold weather these sativas don't mind it.
From what I'm seeing is increased trichome production.
I don't really know is it because of cold or it's just how the plant matures.
Either way buds look amazing. If you look at them closer they look like cotton candy.
Very fluffy with pinkish pistils, and on top of that fluffiness, crystals sprinkled all over.
At sunset, when reddish colour shines on them they look like they're from some fantasy world.
I'm really impressed with the look of the plants.
Feeding was the same as last week. Only have 1/4 of tablet left so that's reserved for next week.
They were fed once with Easy Boost and with pH water..
This week was showered with sunshine instead of rain. Weather was nice with temps of 22C but nights were kinda cold with humidity of 80-90%.
I've been checking plants regularly for signs of any disease and found nothing, thankfully. It seems that this strain is very resilient.
Bud development is still continuing. There can be seen some new buds still growing and they got denser since last week and much frostier.
Some branches are slowly giving into buds weight and are bending down, almost horizontally. I tied branches together in the mid section so they don't flap around any more.
The smell got stronger but it's not pungent. You can sense in the smell some citrusy notes and some smells that indicate when they mature they will get you really high. It's quite pleasant and not overpowering.
If I was allowed, I'd plant them all over the house. That's how good they smell. 😀
Harvest month as stated on RQS website is October.
That gives plants enough time mature before the hard cold and rain hits this region.
Weather by the end October is expected to get much colder with more rain and high humidity.
I hope plants will get through for 4 more weeks until they mature.
Feeding was the same as last week with 1/4 of tablet in 2l. I also gave them some CalMag just in case.
Since this was last of Easy Boost I had, next week I'll continue with BioBizz Bio-Bloom.
These are the last days in September and first days of October. So far days are sunny and absent of rain.
I hope it will continue with sunny weather so buds can get more fatter.
Last week I tied some branches together as buds were pulling them down, but after couple of days buds got even more in weight so I had to tie them again.
If they keep putting on weight like this, by the time harvest comes they are gonna be super heavy.
I love it 😎
They still need 3-4 weeks to finish and that would be the same time it's advertised on RQS website.
I started using Bio-Bloom as I'm out of RQS Easy Boost.
I feed them once a week with Bio-Bloom 2l each plant and rest of the week with molasses.
At beginning of week I tried something different that I read somewhere. I topped some buds 😬
There were few colas that looked like they were fox tailing so I topped those. I cut 2-3 mm and did it on few buds only just to see the effect.
It's said that when topped few weeks before harvest buds tend to stop growing vertically and start to expand, grow denser.
I can't wait to see if it will make any difference.
Plants got much more frostier since last week and the smell the really nice.
Fruity, lemony. It isn't overpowering at all and I must admit I like the smell of this strain more than any other I've grown s far.
Trichomes are slowly getting there. Few more weeks I think till harvest.
I don't want to rush it but I need to dodge somehow this high humidity and low temps that we currently have in this region.
Night temp tend to drop down to 2C. There is some sunshine coming next week so hopefully they don't get cold or something.
Feeding stayed the same as last week. 2l of nutrient solution twice a week and molasses in between feedings.
Finally some sunshine came at the beginning of the week. Forecast said it should last for 10 days so I hope plants will finish by then.
Temperature was above 20C and dropped to 10-12C at night.
Plants seem to combat humidity well, where at nights humidity gets high, it goes up to 98% and I haven't found any sings of bud rot.
Both plants are looking great and they smell just amazing.
Trichomes are almost all cloudy and 10 more days of ripening should be enough.
This is last week of feeding and by the end of the week I flushed the plants with pH water.
Weather was still pleasant this week. Temperatures in the low 20C, lots of sunshine.
Nights were tolerable around 10-12C.
Buds are really heavy and even tying them isn't helping.
When I tie them together, they stay up for an hour or so and then they bend the branch again.
Plants look like they're nearing the end. I think they will be ready in 10 days.
Instead of just watering with plain water this week I used Flawless Finish in every watering.
Each plant got 1l per watering 3 times this week.
This was the last week of flowering and the end of plants life.
By the end of week rain started falling heavily and humidity raised to 98%.
It was time to put them in a dark for 48h before taking them down.
Trichomes are mostly all cloudy and buds are frosted with them.
Buds are very sticky to the touch and they smell amazing.
Once again I've encountered that one plant turned all purple while other didn't, like it happened with Honey Cream.
The purple plant has developed completely different smell and now it smells pungent like diesel fuel while other has nice citrusy smell.
Very interesting indeed.
Two days before placing plants in dark I gave them last watering with 1l of pure water each.
Next week or after 7-10 days when plants are dry I'll be posting harvest week with all details.
Two plants two totally different smells and aromas.
One plant turned in purple colour and smells like fuel with chocolate. Yummy?
After 3 weeks of curing the fuel smell still resided with sweet hint of chocolate.
The other plant stayed green with citrusy smell.
What's interesting is when lit they both start to smell on herbs/incense.
High is cerebral, clear and potent in both if them.
I was quite surprised with this strain. To experience in first hand changes that this plant has shown in its cycle is really a treat.
Plants were grown side by side, they had beautiful citrusy smell and they looked the same almost till the end.
A month before harvest one plant turned purple and started to smell on diesel fuel with sweet chocolate.
Yeah, this is something out there. Totally weird combination of smells. You'd think you smelled almost everything and then this happens.
When I was trimming the plant, the smell in the room was like in the gas tank. Extremely pungent to the point of headache.
Good thing it vented out easily in a few min.
The other plant held its properties of citrusy aroma till the end.
The trichome production on both plants was exceptional and very sticky to the touch.
Resistance of these plants was impressive.
They endured big temperature swings in summer from 17°C at night up to 35°C at day and in late autumn where temps dropped under 10°C.
Plants showed their hardiness and completed their life cycle to the fullest.
Growing this strain was such a treat and fulfilling experience.
Hey! Nice detailed diary for a start.
Just a question though : why the mini-greenhouses around your soil? Your seedlings already have 2 sets of leaves and the increased humidity just at the base of the stem would only increase the risk of damping off imo.
@Korfer, At the time of writing plants are in 3rd day of 2nd week and I had to remove the foil today as the sun was really hitting them hard and evaporation started accumulating on the foil.
So now they are in the open and swinging on the wind.
They look really healthy.
@Satori_Hanso, sure, your general idea behind this system is good in itself. I'm just saying you could improve it by including the whole seedling in it (maybe using longer toothpicks as pillars or just combining firmly 2 or 3 of them to raise the foil tent).
Hi SH! Nice ladies!! Your idea of making a spiral is good but make sure the turns don't overlap too much, try to really kip the spiral shape from above with the turns going wider and wider. 👌
@Magnetous_tryko, That's the plan. They are at 1/4 turn atm.
Don't really know how tall this strain can get in 14l pot so I can plan ahead and bend branches evenly.
@Satori_Hanso, I'm that guy with 6 males 😝 Things have turned out allright with only 6 females. I just uploaded some new pics 👍 Hope you will be lucky. I will pray for you 👏
Wow you must have a long grow season too. Great patient grow! We get 12-14.5-12 hrs in South west us.
Have you tried "early" strains? I mean like an F4 Auto x stable to make a "quick" "early" harvest that was worth it yet?
@@BeanswithPork, Hard to tell. I believe I had to do this earlier. But the buds in any way are dense and heavy. Gonna pay more attention to it on my next grow.
@Clutch, Those cold 2C nights passed thankfully. Tonight will be around 7-8C and from what forecast says, there is some sunshine coming soon.
This was a nice cold test for them. If all goes well till harvest it will show how cold resistant they are and that's some good info for future growing.
