HandsomeTerpz Start germination in a paper towel inside a bag and place it in the grow tent for about 2β3 days at around 26Β°C
The first week is done, and both seedlings are off to a strong start. Under stable conditions of 60% RH, 23Β°C, and an 18/6 light cycle at around 200 PPFD, theyβve established well and are now pushing their first true leaves.
At this stage, everything is about consistency. The environment looks dialed in, and the plants are responding exactly how youβd wantβno stretching, no stress, just clean early development. This is where the foundation for the entire grow is built.
Over the next few days, keep an eye on moisture levels in the medium and avoid overwatering. The roots are still small, so less is more. If they continue like this, youβll be moving into early vegetative growth very smoothly.

HandsomeTerpz Week one is in the books, and the DC Kush Regular seedlings are off to a solid start. Both plants have germinated successfully and are developing nicely, showing their first true leaves with a healthy, compact structure.
The environment is well balanced: 25Β°C during the day and 19Β°C at night, paired with 70% humidity β exactly where you want things for early vegetative growth. The 18/6 light cycle combined with around 300 PPFD provides enough energy without pushing the plants too hard at this stage.
The setup with Light-Mix and perlite is doing its job, keeping the root zone airy while still offering a light nutrient base. Feeding is kept minimal, using BioTabs Bactrex and Orgatrex to stimulate root growth and activate microbial life in the soil.
At around 7 cm in height, the seedlings are developing steadily without any signs of stretching or deficiencies. The 60 cm distance to the lamp seems to be dialed in perfectly for now.
Watering is still very controlled at this stage, giving just enough to keep the medium slightly moist without overdoing it β a key factor in avoiding early issues.
Overall, a clean and healthy start. Now itβs all about consistency and letting the plants build a strong foundation for the weeks ahead. πΏπ

HandsomeTerpz The second week of vegetation is running smoothly and without any issues. The plant is developing well and shows steady, healthy growth. Currently at around 10 cm in height, she looks strong and stable.
Environmental conditions are well dialed in: temperatures sit at around 23Β°C during the day and 21Β°C at night, with humidity at 60%. The light cycle remains at 18/6 under the Lumatek 400W setup, with a lamp distance of approximately 35 cm and around 300 PPM.
Growing in a 15L pot using a Light-Mix substrate with added perlite. Nutrients are based on the BioTabs line, including Bactrex, Orgatrex, Mycotrex, and Startrex. Watering is currently done by hand with about 2L per plant per day.
Air circulation and filtration are handled by a 6-inch inline fan with carbon filter, keeping everything fresh and stable.
Overall, no special events this week β just solid, healthy growth and a happy plant πΏ

HandsomeTerpz Vegetation Week 3
The Doctors Choice DC Kush has hit a serious growth spurt. The leaves are becoming thick, wide, and are showing a deep healthy green color
This time I paid a lot of attention to the soil mixture and carefully balanced the 50/50 setup. You can clearly see how positively the plants are responding to the stable living soil ecosystem
The AutoPot system is now connected again and running very smoothly. On top of that, Iβm using an air pump again this run to oxygenate the water supply in my opinion it adds a lot more stability to the system and noticeably improves root development
So far the DC Kush is growing extremely stable and is developing exactly the strong structure you want to see at this stage

HandsomeTerpz Week 4 vegetation update for the DC Kush by Doctor's Choice π±π₯
The DC Kush developed extremely well this week and showed very strong, vigorous growth. What really stands out on this strain are the massive fan leaves β they became so large and dense that I had to do a pretty heavy defoliation session to allow more light to reach the lower nodes and side branches βοΈπΏ
Both plants were also fully adjusted with LST training to spread the branches horizontally and create a more even canopy for flower later on. Right after the training they always look a little rough, but thatβs completely normal and part of the process π
Now the plan is to give them about one week to recover and bounce back properly before making the switch to 12/12 flowering hours ππ₯
If the recovery goes as expected, they should explode with growth once flowering begins.
Really excited for the next stage because the structure and vigor on these DC Kush plants already look very promising π

HandsomeTerpz The DC Kush is turning into a beautiful, dense bush again. The plant is producing tons of large fan leaves and has developed a really thick canopy over the last days. At this point she definitely needed some defoliation to improve airflow and allow more light to reach the inner growth.
LST training is going perfectly with this strain. The branches are flexible, easy to bend, and react very well to training without any breaks or damage. Itβs been super smooth shaping the canopy and spreading the growth evenly.
Overall the plant looks extremely healthy and vigorous right now. Strong structure, deep green color, and great recovery after training sessions. Iβm really excited to see how she behaves once the first flowers start developing.

HandsomeTerpz The DC Kush from Doctors Choice is absolutely taking off this week! π She just keeps growing and pushing out new shoots every few days, showing strong vigor and excellent structure throughout Week 6.
The growth remains stable and healthy, with sturdy branches and plenty of new development across the canopy. Defoliation has proven to be very beneficial, helping light reach deeper growth sites while also improving airflow throughout the plant.
One thing that became very noticeable was the increase in humidity inside the tent. The dense foliage was trapping a lot of moisture, so removing some leaves has helped create a much healthier environment and should reduce the risk of future issues.
So far, DC Kush is looking exactly how you want a vigorous plant to look at this stage. π±πͺ

HandsomeTerpz he DC Kush continues to impress me week after week. This plant simply doesn't seem to slow down. One week I'm removing a large number of fan leaves to open up the canopy, and the next week she's already packed with fresh growth again. The vigor on this cultivar is honestly remarkable.
Flowering has started beautifully, and the plant has transitioned into bloom without missing a beat. Bud sites are developing across the canopy, the structure remains compact and manageable, and she continues to push healthy new growth every day.
What stands out most right now is her ability to recover from defoliation. Even after a heavy cleanup, she quickly fills the space with new leaves, creating a dense and healthy canopy. That's always a good sign of a strong and resilient genetic line.
At this stage everything looks very promising. The stretch has been manageable, the overall shape is easy to work with, and the first flowers are beginning to stack nicely. I'm very excited to see how the buds develop over the coming weeks and whether she can maintain this impressive pace all the way to harvest.
So far, DC Kush is doing exactly what you hope for from a vigorous flowering plant: growing fast, staying healthy, and making the wait for harvest even harder.

HandsomeTerpz The DC Kush is growing steadily and remains healthy, but her progress is noticeably slower than expected. Just like the other plant in this tent, I believe she's being limited by the lighting. The overall intensity is acceptable, but the spectrum simply isn't ideal for flowering.
In my opinion, the far-red range is lacking, and the plant doesn't seem to be receiving the signals needed to maximize flower development and stacking. The result is slower bud formation and less vigorous flower growth compared to what I would expect under a high-quality LED fixture.
This grow is a good reminder of how important premium lighting really is. Genetics, nutrients, and environment all matter, but if the light spectrum isn't optimized, you're unlikely to get the full potential out of your plants. Quality LEDs are expensive for a reasonβthey can make a huge difference in flower development, density, color expression, and ultimately yield.
That being said, the plant still looks healthy and stable, and I'm curious to see how she develops over the next few weeks.

HandsomeTerpz The DC Kush plants are off to a very good start. Growth has been relatively slow so far, but in return they are developing in a very stable and sturdy manner. The structure looks solid, and both plants are spreading out nicely with good branching and healthy development.
One of the plants is already showing slightly larger and thicker flower formation than the other, which is always interesting to observe this early on. It will be exciting to see whether this difference continues throughout the grow or if the other plant catches up later.
The lighting could certainly be better, and I believe the plants would benefit from a more powerful setup. Even so, they are responding well to the current conditions and showing no major signs of stress.
Overall, both plants are looking healthy, vigorous, and well-established. If they continue developing at this pace, they should provide a strong foundation for the weeks ahead. I'm looking forward to seeing how they progress as flowering begins to ramp up.

HandsomeTerpz Flower Week 10 and the DC Kush is right in the middle of the bulking phase. πͺπΈ The buds are noticeably swelling, getting thicker every day, and are covered in fresh white pistilsβa great sign that sheβs still actively building flowers.
Overall, the plant looks fantastic: healthy, vigorous, large, and beautifully structured. π± Iβm really happy with her progress so far and hope sheβll continue packing on even more weight over the coming days and weeks. Iβm excited to see how she finishes as harvest gets closer. π₯π

HandsomeTerpz The DC Kush is still deep in its bulking phase and continues to stack on serious flower mass. πΏπ₯ In my opinion, she's developing some incredibly large buds, and I'm really excited to see how the final flowers will turn out.
The plant looks healthy, vigorous, and is putting all of its energy into building dense, chunky budsβexactly what you want to see during the final weeks before harvest. πͺ
If everything stays on track, I expect about 1β2 more weeks until harvest. Now it's all about being patient and letting her reach her full potential. I can't wait to see what she looks like at the finish line. π±β¨

HandsomeTerpz While the other ladies have already reached harvest, DC Kush is taking her timeβand honestly, I'm glad she is. π
She has just finished an incredible bulking phase, stacking weight week after week. Now she's entering the final stage, where it's all about letting the trichomes fully mature and reaching their peak.
Just look at the size of those buds... π€― They are absolutely massive. This plant is a small giant, proving that sometimes patience really is rewarded.
I'm giving her the extra time she deserves because I want to see what she's truly capable of. If she finishes the way she's been growing, I have a feeling the harvest is going to be something very special.
Stay tuned... I think this monster still has one last surprise left. πΏπ
The Doctor's Choice DC Kush is an absolute monster when grown under the right conditions.
With proper care, a balanced feeding schedule, and training techniques like LST and topping, this plant is capable of producing incredibly large budssome of mine reached the size of a pear. The yield potential is outstanding if you invest a little time into shaping and maintaining the canopy.
I can't fully comment on the terpene profile just yet, as the flowers are currently drying and will soon begin the curing process. I'll be able to give a more detailed impression of the aroma and flavor in the coming weeks and months.
One thing I would recommend is paying close attention during germination and the early seedling stage. Like many premium North American genetics, this Canadian strain can be a little sensitive during its first few weeks. However, once it establishes a healthy root system and reaches the vegetative stage, it takes off with incredible vigor and becomes an exceptionally rewarding plant to grow.
Based on my experience so far, I can highly recommend this genetic to growers who are willing to give it the attention it deserves in the beginning

HandsomeTerpz The final week was really just a waiting game until harvest.
I'm convinced that under ideal conditions, this plant could have easily matured for another one or even two weeks. Unfortunately, due to the combination of high temperatures and humidity, I decided it was safer to harvest early rather than risk losing the crop.
Despite the extremely dense flowers, I didn't experience any mold, which I'm very grateful for. I do have to give credit to my Vivosun dehumidifier it did an amazing job keeping the humidity under control during the hottest and most humid days. Honestly, without it, I would have been in serious trouble.
Sometimes protecting the harvest is more important than squeezing out a few extra days of ripening, and in this case, I think harvesting early was absolutely the right decision.
