80 days from sprout I chopped these 2 Crop King Auto Cheese CBD plants. I am very pleased with the results especially considering they got little care and little nutrients. I just wanted to see how they’d do on their own. They fed off the ocean forest soil early on, then a couple feedings during flower. These started to flower early, only a couple weeks in, so That didn’t help with the yield, which CK states is 150g outdoors. I ended up with -60g each. I encountered some pests, a couple caterpillars that did a fair bit of damage to the fan leaves and aphids late in flower that definitely shocked them. I ended up with about a dozen seeds so far, unsure of the cause. Didn’t see any bananas and they all seem the be on the lower half. Maybe just self pollinated?? Next time I will plant them in 10 gal containers to really let them stretch their legs and see what happens. Overall like the ease and speed of autos and see the perks for sure especially where I live. The weather changes very quickly and there is no chance of a photo finishing. May try a 9 plant sog indoors to boost my variety. Happy Growing 🌱 Live up

Grow Questions

For outdoor grown autos, do you let them grow naturally in its 1) Xmas tree shape, 2) Xmas tree and LST side branches or 3) LST the main stock down and side branches? Any tips or advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Hey there, so Both options are valuable. I think the best thing to consider is how many direct sunlight hours you have and if you have a wide open space that gets sun from sunrise to sunset. If you don't have rise to set i would go with tying the plant over to increase the hours you do get. Either way though your space looks to get some very nice lighting. I would still defoliate the bottoms though to up the size of your main buds. Happy growing, i love the outdoor auto run.✌️

I live in BC, I had aphids on one of my plants. Mine are CBD autocheese also in Week 12. Took some samples to the local grow store. She recommended spraying with water and then applying a weak hydrogen peroxide solution. 15mls to 1L of water. Ive sprayed with water and twice with the solution now and noticed a big difference. All the little green aphids are gone. Just left with some big black ones, which might even be dead bodies. She also recommended that you can completely dip the buds into the solution right after you cut them down then hang to dry. Apparently Hydrogen Peroxide this way is considered food grade and wont have any negative affects, especially when this close to harvest.

@SAC87, just an update. I sprayed every 2 days for a total of 3 times. In the 3rd time leaves turned a bit dry and crispy so be careful. Seems to be working though.

@SosdogAndMissMuffet, ya thanks for the info. I stopped in at my local shop and that’s what they suggested too. I also emailed end all and they say that the active ingredients are only active for 3-5 days so it’s safe to spray as long as you’re not harvesting in that time. I sprayed the LB which have a couple weeks and I harvested the cheese and removed all the ones I could see and the plants will be dry in a couple days. If I need to dunk I will. Still checking all plants every day. Ya the hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) will just turn into water and oxygen so it’s safe. Good luck with those dirty little shits!!

Hey SAC... grow is looking good.... Mine are getting some yellow leaves on the CBD and purpleish on LB... I just flushed them with plain water ph6. 2. I am guessing harvest is with 2 to 3 weeks...i an looki g forward to seeing your end result so I have a comparitor!!! Cheers!!

@GeorgeSmiley, @Sky_High_Steve, I followed the grow by @Njanne, she has one pheno that yellowed and 2 that didn’t. Who knows. What I do know is I spent the morning killing a bunch of aphids on the LB and a caterpillar and a couple aphids on the cheese. I’d love to get some of those predator mites that live on the plants and kill everything. Ugh Hoping to be done before it gets out of control. Good luck to you too.

@SAC87, @Sky_High_Steve, my outdoor autocheese has also been yellowing/browning from mid to late flower....maybe it's the strain or maybe we're all missing something! I'll be harvesting next week, good luck with the rest of your grows!

@Sky_High_Steve, my LB are purpling too. Cool nights here so it’ll be cool to see the colors she turns. Yours are looking good too.

Nice germinating. 4/4. 🌝🌱🌱🌱🌱🌝 I have a question please. I am interested in your Sun Blaster lights, what is the wattage? I have Sun Blaster nano tech t5 reflector lights on my propagator. My current 2 diaries show photos. Grow well ✌️🏼😎👍🏼

@SAC87, I have 100% germination rate with Crop King Seeds too. Always reliable.
SAC87
SAC87commented6 years ago
@Puffer_Bill, since I got my seeds with the crop king method I’ve had 100% germ rates, I believe it’s on their website. These 2ft T5s are 24 watts each, they work great for seedlings. I have a 4 ft that is 48w.

Hey there, we have our second batch of CBD autocheese on week 13. About the same time we harvested our first batch. I still dont see any amber trichomes. Did you see any on yours before harvest?
SAC87
SAC87commented5 years ago
@SosdogAndMissMuffet, while the plant was alive, no, they didn’t seem Amber. After harvest they all ambered out quickly. I am really happy with the outcome and effects. I had a nice slow dry about 7 days and 3-4 weeks of cure. Only problem is all the damn seeds. It’s great, and super easy. Good luck Happy Growing 🌱

How’s the drying going? I think we are on the same schedule. My drying room smells a little bit like hay and I’ve lost that nice cheesy skunk smell. Do you have the same issue? I Read somewhere too late that wet trimming is bad. I think that was my mistake.
SAC87
SAC87commented5 years ago
@SosdogAndMissMuffet, in my experience that usually happens, but the beautiful funk returns during the curing process. I have tried both and prefer the wet trim, then tidy up the straggler leaves once dried if needed. I find it easier to handle and the trichomes are less brittle, that’s my two cents. I’m already smoking testers and like the effects. I must have stressed them out leaving for a week at a time and them drying out. I have a bunch of seeds in each of them, like 10+ so far. I didn’t see any bananas and with all the aphids I was looking pretty intently, but know knows. Still very smokable!! Still have one lambs Breath left to harvest.

Well done. I’ve got 3 Cbd Autocheese going outdoors in the lower mainland. I’m guessing your nearby. Yours look really nice. I’m on week 7 too. Pretty new at this. Going to do some defoliating. How did yours go? Any negative reactions? Around how many leaves did you pluck Per plant?
SAC87
SAC87commented5 years ago
@SosdogAndMissMuffet, I’m in the prairies. Idk if there been any ill effect. The entire sun side was shaded so I made a calculated risk in maybe stunting it a bit to get it a ton more direct sun in the long run. I plucked 8 leaves total. 1 from 1 and 7 from the other, figured a little side by side to see. I would only remove what has to be removed, if you can tuck, it’s way less stressful.

Did you use any nutrients so far?
SAC87
SAC87commented5 years ago
@Sky_High_Steve, no nutrients, just a light solution of additives. Some cal mag and B vitamins about a week or so ago.
Stick
Stickcommentedweek 26 years ago
Hi @SAC87! It's all about the strain, the need for stealth, the sun exposure and the grower's preferences! If you have the chance to compare all methods, it would be a nice experimentation and a first-class diary! Happy growing 👊
SAC87
SAC87commented6 years ago
@Stick, that’s an idea. It would be cool to see a side by side LST vs natural. I had to drop another seed as one was twisted and mutated. I wanted to see if it would recover. The new Lambs Breath should be ready in a day or so.
