CanOli95 Welcome to my Diary. This strain is Freeseed, which I received as a bonus when I bought a Haze at Cannafair last year. The breeder is really passionate and shared a lot about his journey, which inspired me to give this strain a try on the side. As you can see from the pedigree photo, this is truly an interesting cross, and I'm curious to see how it performs. I've let the strain grow on the side, so I haven't documented the vegetation closely. The plant has been growing strong and without any issues so far, and it didn't even need any nutrients. I only provided a root stimulant and didn't even adjust the pH of the watering until this point. It's just happily growing along. I'm not planning to grow a big tree from it, just trying to get a few grams on the side. Let's see what genetic potential the breeder has conjured up 🌺

CanOli95 This week went very well for this strain. The plant is growing very robustly and yieldingly. Unfortunately, the photos aren't that great because the box is a bit full and the plants are really stretching. At the time of this diary entry, it is the 8th day of flowering, not the 14/15! The plant immediately reacted with a strong stretch. You would say with other plants that they are producing water shoots. However, these are very stable and cannot be bent, which is a very good sign. The daytime temperatures are 25 degrees and 21 degrees at night. This results in an approximate VPD of 1.45. The plant is handling it very well and is drinking happily, showing no signs of nutrient deficiencies. Nevertheless, it received a nutrient solution today: The nutrient solution consisted of Hakaphos special red, YaraLiva Calzinit, fulvic acid, Epsom salt, Aptus Regulator, and Aptus P boost. With my tap water, this results in: N: 220 ppm P: 48 ppm K: 146 ppm Ca: 130-140 ppm MG: 50-60 ppm S: 55 ppm Unfortunately, I can't specify amounts in grams per liter above, so the solid fertilizers are still listed in ml/L. I'm really curious about what will follow. I don't plan to top the plant or mess around with it too much. Since it's a project, I'm just letting it do its thing and planning for only a few, but larger buds.

CanOli95 The week went very well. The Pomelo handled the huge dose from last week very well and stored it properly, despite the stretch. The green isn't getting any darker, but not at an unhealthy level. There are no signs of clawing, and the leaf tension is always very upright. So there's nothing to complain about at this point. Today I used per 10 liters: Hakaphos special red: 9 g Yara Calzinit: 9 g Epsom salt: 6.5 g Fulvic: 2 ml Regulator: 1.5 ml This brings us to approximately: N: 250 ppm P: 60 ppm K: 170 ppm Ca: 260 ! ppm MG: 80 ppm S: 80 ppm I want to give the plant the opportunity to build a lot of solid tissue with the high calcium content and to establish a pH buffer in the soil. Generally, slightly higher amounts of calcium are well tolerated. The plant is already showing signs of the first flowers and is diligently developing nice shoots for beautiful colas. Unfortunately, I've noticed some small feeding spots from thrips, but I'll take care of that organically. Other than that, I have nothing to criticize, and I'm quite impressed with this free seed so far 😃☀️

CanOli95 Welcome to Day No. 21 :) Unfortunately, this lady really has a lot going on when it comes to stretch. She has shot up extremely and seems to want to keep growing taller, which I didn't expect. The buds are growing higher and forming rather little leaf mass. The leaves that are forming are getting bigger and are reaching further through the bamboo jungle with long stems. The leaves also have a rather typical sativa-like appearance on her hybrid side, which would fit the original genetics. It's a challenge because the plant is twice as tall as the Happy Hour in the same tent. Luckily, the two Sanlight Q5Ws are hung separately, so I can adjust them individually. Still, I can't raise the Sanlight above the Pomelo any higher. So far, it's really a very interesting strain because it initially grew quite compact. I'm now mostly reducing the nitrogen and increasing phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, and sulfur. It's really fascinating to see how the two ladies react differently to the nutrients.

CanOli95 This week went very relaxed. We're now on day 28, so we've made it through a third of the time. The stretch seems to have stopped, thankfully. The lady is well-fed, so no nutrients are really needed. A slight tip burn is noticeable, which confirms my decision. What's interesting is the structure of the buds: they seem to stack the calyxes upwards like a typical sativa lady, instead of evenly on all sides. I'm curious to see if it will stay this way, after all, it fits with the strong stretch, as one would originally categorize a sativa. The selection of the parents of this lady also fits well for categorization. All in all, this lady seems to be very easy to care for, aside from the strong stretch. So far, I really like her. Let's see what else comes 🌻 To better illustrate the stretch, I made a little video. The comparison is especially interesting with the Wizard Trees from the other diary.

CanOli95 Welcome to Flower Day 35 🌻 The plant hasn't seen many nutrients this week. I think it was a bit too much potassium, which blocked calcium and magnesium a bit. So, the recipe will now be adjusted to the situation. Per 10 liters, there’s: 5 grams Hakaphos 5 grams Greenhouse feeding Calcium EDTA 5.5 grams Epsom salt 1.5 grams Potassium sulfate This results in: N=80 ppm P=17 ppm K=151 ppm Calcium=91 ppm MG=54 ppm S=56 ppm I'm already starting to push the nitrogen a bit because the leaves are still very green at the bottom. Otherwise, there won't be any fading. I assume it will be another 4 to 5 weeks in bloom. This part corresponds exactly to the Wizard Trees. What I want to point out here: The Pomelo really has a beautiful morphology of the flower clusters. When you look at the family tree, the shape of the rather elongated flowers is no surprise. I find it nice that the description has actually been accurate so far. There are some polyhybrids on the market that often exhibit identical calyx shapes. The typical Sativa traits stand out clearly here, which can also be seen in the strong stretch and the fan leaves. These have very long stems, some of which I trimmed today (not visible in the pictures). The Happy Hour from the other diary gets the same amount of light but at a greater distance and is already showing bleaching. The Pomelo, on the other hand, is much closer to the Q5W and seems uninterested. A really interesting genetic variety, but I would only grow it again if there’s a lot of space, especially if it later shows that the terpenes are produced a bit more. Here, it’s still a bit reserved, which it is welcome to correct. When I look at the development of the flowers, we might still have to wait about 35 days. The head buds might also be ready after 30 days. I’m curious to see how it goes 🌻

CanOli95 We're starting week 7 🌺 I'm very happy with the development. Unfortunately, I'm not a good photographer, but the development of the flowers is becoming more uniform. The flowers are developing well and getting thicker with more frost. I just need to be careful with the top burn and make sure to water with more drain, then it will be good too 🌺

CanOli95 Welcome to the start of week 8 🌺 This week, there was only tap water because there are still more than enough nutrients available. In the path of the fan, you can see that the cool breeze is making the fan leaves turn a nice purple. The trichomes are also getting thicker and riper, but the lady should still get a good 1 to 2 weeks. The trichomes are mostly still transitioning from clear to milky. I've already seen a few amber ones, but there's definitely more to come.

CanOli95 The last week of flowering is starting 🌺 This week, I only used tap water, which has resulted in a noticeable deficiency of various nutrients for the plant. The buds are developing beautifully, and the aroma is increasing more and more. It doesn't quite compare to a pomelo, but there's definitely a sweet-sour scent to be noticed. The trichomes seem to be rather elongated for this genotype, which is why it looks so heavily powdered. Most likely a good Washer genetics. Next week, the weather is supposed to get very hot. So I need to make sure to adjust the harvest well with the possible conditions for drying.

CanOli95 All in all, a very relaxed week. You could really see the plant ripening. The trichomes were getting milky, and the buds weren't getting any firmer. The buds have reached their capacity. Before the impending heatwave, I harvested the upper canopy and stored it in my wine cooler with a Peltier dehumidifier. They can now dry very slowly there. I set the temperature to 14 degrees. With the dehumidifier, the temperature should rise by about 2 degrees. Due to the high humidity in the buds, and because the dehumidifier is small, it will be turned off tonight and dried with the door open (24 degrees room temperature). Tomorrow, the devices will be turned on.
