Arcadium Well finally outside and excited to get this diary going! Weather's unreal 17c, 9c nights, a bit of rain yesterday, only been 3 days since transplant and really taking off! I've got 1 plant in the Hugelkultur and the other in a 10 gallon Air Pot. Really enjoying the Airpots this year! Soil for airpot was home made compost, HP Pro Mix Soil, mushroom compost, sand, perlite, bone meal and a ton of Gaia Green and some lime. Premixed 3 weeks ago, dropped plants in 3d ago. Trying a dual mainline for airpot, single main line for Hugel fits shape better. 3rd round of tops 2 days after transplant as they looked so good. Up to 16 now, should easily push 2 more before flower so 64? Will see. Will start compost teas next week, also added Rhino Skin and Diablo Max to this year's lineup. Weekly spray of lost coast and a few hours of drip. Whole garden is really popping off these last few days! SUPER stoaked to get a great early start this year!! Hope everyone enjoys, last year's WAS great, I've REALLY been enjoying the hash, can't wait for some GG Hash this year!

Arcadium Hot dry week, 24c days, 5c lows, plants are settling in nicely. Airpot is doing incredible, this was home made soil tons of perlite, be interesting to see how it compares to the fully organic matter hugelkultur. Added some shade cloth around the airpot to keep the temps down. First 90min of drip after transplant, should be every 5 days for now, last year in fabric pots I needed daily watering, will see where we end up come August. Gave a light dose of Diablo Maxx and Rhino Skin, compost teas next week and we should be into regular schedule. Orb weaver spider hatchlings are everywhere! Had such a good population last year, must have triple this year, they did well. Set a whole cluster loose on my plant and they sure did handle the caterpillars! The one plant is underneath my 50ft cherry, so it gets tons of debris and caterpillars dropping down from it, spiders are my friends. They've since moved on to other surrounding areas, but a few have stuck it out. No rain in the future, full sun, 24c daily, perfect growing weather!

Arcadium HOT wild heat wave roll through 30c. Had some minor yellow discoloration on the small one, maybe full does of silica +30c heatwave lockout?, didn't bother with PH, but she's still rolling through it. 4th round of topping on both, 32, one more before canopy is filled out and she'll go up. Then maybe one more top to even canopy out will see. Some minor cattepilar damage, but I'm raising an army of Chickadees through nest boxes (bonus pics). A pair of chickadees can use 6000 to 9000 cattepilars to raise a brood to adults. Will hopefuy nab pics of the fledglings any day now, then will try and quickly clean out nest box and they're known to raise a second brood if the food is plenty, and it is Compost tea tommorow, 5g bucket, 20ml fish / Kelp, 2 Tbsp molasses, aerated 24hr, then silica / diablo max 1/2 dose before watering.

Arcadium Cooled off this week, 4th top recovered nicely, 32 nodes all secured down, another top next week, 2 week recovery then I'll let it grow up, and maybe one more top before letting her ride it out. I'll add a scrog net to guide the vertical growth up, works well as I can start it low and just slide it up and she grows up. Just drip irrigation 90min every 5 days, and a half dose of silica and diablo maxx, weekly LCPT spray and that's it for this week! Even the smaller plant looks incredibly healthy, loving life! Caterpillar damage is bad, but they will disappear shortly and those damaged leaves won't even exist in a month anyways. This fall I'm going to try to wrap my massive cherry tree in sticky stuff to prevent the canker moths from crawling up laying eggs in the fall, will see if next year's caterpillars are better.

Arcadium Smooth sailing this week, caterpillars have slowed, they will burrow into the soil to pupate from now until first frost. Next year I'm going to put bands of sticky tangle foot around the cherry tree in Oct, canker moths will emerge in Nov and have no luck getting back into that tree to lay eggs for next year. Top dress of a couple cups of home made compost with 20tbps of Gaia Green AP/PB, 70/30, 10tbps for smaller airpot. Fungus gnatts are always annoying in my smaller pots. Airpots make it fun because now they go in the sides, trying shade cloth which I normally use anyways around the pot. Did some super cropping of the small plant as well, looking good, no signs of flower yet, but I'm sure the pots maxed soon so we'll see. Witnessed the brood of Chickadees in my nest box take first flight, what a sight. Now I have a family of 7 eating those damn caterpillars. Half dose of silica / diablo maxx, and some drip, weekly LCPT spray and that's a wrap.

Arcadium Hot, dry, couldn't of asked for better weather all week. 10g airpot started to flower, earlier then last year, should be excellent finishing weather. Super crop abuse from last week is recovering, height hasn't moved which is great, she'll be stackin in no time. Canopy on the large one is developing nicely, super flat. I pulled the net out which helps to gently guide and redirect the canopy as it gets to max height, and adds some epic support in the later season when size and winds are a factor. Just a shot of Monster Maxx, silica, 90min drip and weekly LCPT spray this week, smooth sailing.

Arcadium Smooth sailing this week, she's sure gaining height quickly now. Still using bud clips and using the net to guide leading nodes for even spacing, canopy is filling out nicely. Made a quick compost tea, 20ml Kelp, 4tbsp epsom salts, 4tbsp molasses, ~2 cups home made compost, 4gallons of water, aerate 24hrs, use immediately. 10g airpot is into flower, much more thirsty, had to up the schedule to 90min drip every 4 days, maybe even 3 days, will see. Noticed some minor thrips, nothing major. She should gain another 2-3ft in the next month I'm sure!

@Seedsman, thanks! Hard parts over, looking great, super healthy very vigorous growth, she'll probably still top 8ft even with the manifold. I can't believe the 10g airpot is already flowering great genetics!

@Seedsman, thanks! Last year's Seedsman Blueberry Pie F1 Fast was FAST, super resilient, no pests, minor rot during 95+% humidity at the end but still pulled 2lb on 1 plant before end of Sept, great genetics! Last year's trim and waste was mulched into my Hugel in Oct to feed this year's grow. growdiaries.com/diaries/265985-grow-journal-by-arcadium

@Northern_Ent, Haha I have to keep reminding myself how early it actually is haha. Though I really honed my hash making last year so most of it will go straight to the freezer fresh. Maybe dry an LB for some flower Rosin, will see. Haven't tried Gorilla Gas before but it's supposed to be epic for bubble hash.

That's a cool idea with the bamboo sticks on the Air Pots. Maybe drill a few more holes in them 🐱
