Skunky420 New grow of autoflowering strains! The seeds germinated directly in light mix Biobizz soil. They've been in the ground for two days and should start germinating in two days. They're currently in small pots containing only light mix and a little Mycotrex for germination. To select the plants I'll keep, I'll transplant them into their final pots no later than three days after germination, so as not to disrupt their growth. I plan to keep only 4 or 5 out of a maximum of 8, as that's enough for my personal use. However, with autoflowering varieties, I prefer to select only the most vigorous plants, which is why I'm germinating a few more. This grow will be done in light mix Biobizz soil enriched with the Biotabs range. Here's the mix I plan to use, knowing that I'll be watering exclusively with a mixture of reverse osmosis water and filtered tap water to maintain an electrical conductivity (EC) of approximately 0.4 throughout the entire grow cycle ⬇️ For a 20-liter container: 100 g of Startrex, 100 g of Silicium Flash, 10 g of Mycotrex. This grow will be done using the Biotabs water-only method. I also have Orgatrex, but I won't be using it this grow; I'm saving it for my next grow so I can compare the two methods and see which one I prefer. This is my first time using Biotabs, so I've spent the last two months studying their use and how to prepare a good substrate. I hope I don't make a mistake in the mixture I plan to make. There's also a "homemade" method for autoflowering plants that I found on Reddit, which involves underdosing the silicium flash but also using Orgatrex, but only adding the two tabs to the soil from the 4th week onwards. I don't plan to try it at the moment, but I still find it interesting, so I'm posting this here for BioTabs growers who might be interested ⬇️ www.reddit.com/r/MephHeads/comments/175hd5q/biotabs_grow_guide_for_autos_by_gr33nfi3ld/?tl=fr Update 25/04 ➑️ 5 out of 8 seeds have sprouted so far; I haven't checked which strains yet. The two Purple Punch Auto seeds are free sample seeds from 2024; perhaps they're too old. I'll see tomorrow.

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+2, so it will be 1 Purple Punch Auto, 3 Dosidos Auto and 1 Orange Apricot Glue XL Auto. Repotting using the Biotabs Water Only formula in the final 5 gallon pots for the Purple Punch Auto and the three Dosidos Auto, and in a 10 liter pot for the Orange Apricot Glue XL Auto. The seedlings have stretched upwards a bit. I'm still learning to control the light level of the AC Infinity humidity dome LEDs, and level 1 seems perfect for germination, but then I'll definitely need to increase it to level 2 or higher to prevent the seedlings from becoming leggy. The fans in the grow box are on low speed, which is keeping the seedlings moving, so I have no worries, they'll get stronger πŸ’ͺ🏻 Only the Orange Apricot Glue XL Auto, which is in the white pot in the center, hasn't quite finished emerging yet, but I'm giving it a chance anyway in a 10l pot. I've been surprised in the past by a auto seedling that looked like it had Down syndrome, but which later turned out to be a phenotype with incredible buds :) βž‘οΈπŸ’§Watering with 1 gram of Bactrex per liter of water for each plant, followed by 500 ml of plain water for each plant, watering only in a circular motion around the base of the plants. I didn't adjust the pH of the water because by mixing the reverse osmosis water with filtered tap water, it already stabilizes at 6.8, which is normally low enough to allow the buffer to do its job in the soil. 27/04 ➑️ After taking the temperature with the AC Infinity Laser VPD thermometer, the seedlings' leaf temperature is 1Β°C cooler than the ambient air, and their leaf VPD is 0.1 lower. I'm now setting the VPD leaf temp offset to -1Β°C. 29/04 ➑️ I removed the Orange Apricot Glue XL Auto seedling from the tent; it was growing very weakly compared to the others and didn't tolerate the increased PPFD as well, so I prefer to leave space for just the four remaining plants. The other four are doing well, developing steadily. They're a bit leggy, but they've stopped stretching upwards and are now focusing on leaf growth. Adding clay pebbles to the surface of the soil, just to reduce the surface area for fungus gnats to lay their eggs. Not 100% effective, but it helps. The clay balls were rinsed with water before being placed on the surface. I regularly clean the tent floor with hydrogen peroxide, about every four days, and the clay pebbles also help to ensure that the fans disperse far fewer soil particles onto the ground. I try to keep the environment as clean as possible to avoid spider mites, especially during the first 15 days before I can apply a preventive neem oil foliar spray. Currently at 165 -175 PPFD/11-12 DLI

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+11, I was not at home for 5 days for work, so I couldn't increase the PPFD until I got back yesterday to reach 16 DLI. Their stems need a little strengthening, but that should improve with the increased PPFD and a bit more ventilation. I plan to insert the first tabs on Day+14. Currently at 230-240 PPFD/16 DLI 06/05 ➑️ Day+13, I added one Biotabs per pot today. They seem quite developed and will start getting hungry in a few days I think. I plan to apply a preventative neem oil spray (3 ml/l) tonight when the light is off. Currently at 240-260 PPFD

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+15, watering today with 1 liter of water per plant, using 1 g/L of Bactrex, CalMag, and Root Juice. I add approximately 4 ml/l of CalMag to raise the EC of the reverse osmosis water from 0.05 to 0.4, then the Root Juice and Bactrex bring the EC up to 0.58-0.6. The plants are growing vigorously and seem to be thriving after the first application of tabs two days ago. They also had their first preventive foliar spray with neem oil yesterday, just before lights out. Currently at 300-320 PPFD/20-22 DLI In one of the photos, you can see the reverse osmosis water system I use. If anyone's interested in the model number, it works great. I did, however, replace the 400ml "flow" cartridge with a 550ml one to increase the flow rate because my tap water is very hard, and it's recommended to extend the lifespan of the membrane and sediment filter. ➑️ Day+18, watering with 2 liters per plant using 4 ml/L of Root Juice, including 1.5 liters at the bottom of the pots to encourage root growth. Fungus gnats are a tough pest; I'm waiting for a nematode delivery. Currently at 365-385 PPFD

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+21, the plants all have their first visible pistils. I think they started their early flowering stretch a day or two ago, or they're about to start because they're growing faster and faster. A foliar spray with Boom-Boom spray was applied on day+19, and the second Biotabs was added to the substrate the same day (7 days after the first). As you can see, I've also added a blue sticky traps and other yellow sticky traps, and there was also a nematode treatment with the last watering on day+18. Since then, the fungus gnats population has decreased significantly, but I'm thinking of doing one last nematode treatment in a week to eliminate them completely. Currently at 420-436 PPFD/29-30 DLI ➑️ Day+25, the final preventive spray with neem oil will be applied after lights out today. Then, in 7-10 days, Koppert Swirski Ulti Mite and Swirski Ulti Mite Spical will be placed under the canopy to protect the plants throughout flowering. A light defoliation of just two large leaves per plant was done on day+22, simply to thin out the secondary branches below, but they grew back just as quickly within 48 hours. I plan a more significant defoliation towards the end of the stretch. I have limited experience with autoflowering plants, so I don't want to stress them too much before they've finished their initial flowering stretch. But given the speed at which it's growing, it's also quite possible that I'll have to lightly defoliate again before the end of the stretch if large leaves are shading some secondary branches too much, depending on the plant's structure. Skunky420 ➑️ Day+30, the four plants received a second watering with nematodes on day+27, and also with Bactrex on day+26. Yesterday, I gave the two large Dosidos auto at the back their first watering with Bio PK 5-8, only 1 ml/L. I'm introducing it slowly because the plants are still in their stretch phase. They seem to have appreciated the Bio PK 5-8, so the other two plants (the Purple Punch auto at the bottom left and the small Dosidos auto) will also get their first dose of Bio PK 5-8 at the next watering. The third and smallest of the Dosidos auto is only at 500 PPFD because it's smaller than the others, so I'm going to look for something to raise it up a bit so it gets more light. Of the four I again removed just a few leaves from the bottom to improve airflow under the canopy, and also a second time 2 large leaves from the top to thin out the secondary branches. Next week I'll apply the first dose of PK booster compost tee; I plan to alternate it every other week with Bio PK 5-8. Currently at 580-620 PPFD/40-42 DLI

PK Booster Compost Tea - Bio Tabs
PK Booster Compost Tea
15 mll
Skunky420 ➑️ Day+35, this week, the plants will receive their first dose of PK Booster compost tea around next Tuesday or Wednesday, when the temperatures drop a bit. Otherwise, the water might be too hot before then with the current heatwave, since the tea needs to steep for 24 to 36 hours. On day+31, I made a mistake. I wanted to pinch the apex of the tallest Dosidos auto in the back left corner because it was growing much taller than the other plants and starting to get stressed from the light. But when I tried to bend it afterward (supercropping), I broke the apex. So I ended up topped it, but the plant recovered very well. Even though the yield might be slightly affected, the secondary branches immediately grew more vigorously (I applied a Boom Boom spray the day I topped it). Since then, it's been developing a triple main bud. At Day+32, I placed the Swirski Ulti mite and Ulti mite spical sachets under the canopy, and yesterday I also introduced about 10-15 Orius laevigatus predators which will take care of the adult thrips if there are any left, in combination with the sachets under the canopy which release predators which take care of the larvae. I noticed a few small spots on one of the Purple Punch Auto leaves a few days ago, but nothing too serious, and since then there haven't been any more bites on any of the leaves, so everything is under control for the moment. However, I'm staying vigilant with the heatwave, especially this weekend given the outside temperature (I've released the rest of the 500 Orius laevigatus box into the garden outside, so I'm waging war on thrips on all fronts, as well as any potential spider mites). Luckily, I'm managing to keep the temperature under control (between 25 and 26Β°C in the grow box with air conditioning on at certain times of the day). (The Purple Punch Auto is now in the bottom right of the photo; I swapped it with the small Dosidos Auto because it was too close to the larger Dosidos) In one of the photos, there's a height-adjustable camping stool I found at Aldi for €5 (I bought two), exactly what I needed to have a canopy at roughly the same height. Currently at 580-650 PPFD/40-45 DLI ➑️ Day+37, the plants finally received their first PK booster compost tea today after 28 hours of brewing. I was able to maintain the tea temperature between 23 and 23.5Β°C, so it worked well. 700ml per plant, with 5ml/L of Orgatrex, and 30 minutes before the end of the brewing cycle, I added a small spoon of Bactrex and Mycotrex to the tea. The Purple Punch Auto is less advanced in its flowering compared to the three Dosidos Auto. Towards the end of flowering, I'll see if I can postpone harvesting the Dosidos by a week or ten days to give the Purple Punch time to mature sufficiently. If the difference in maturity is too significant, then I might have to finish the Purple Punch outside, as the tent is the only place I can dry at the right temperature and humidity. Currently at 600-650 PPFD

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+42, the plants will receive their Bio PK 5-8 dose in two days. The Purple Punch Auto is taking its time but is starting to stop growing taller and is focusing on its flowers. The Dosidos Autos are superb. All four plants greatly appreciated the PK booster compost tea last Sunday. Currently at 750-850 PPFD ➑️ Day+47, some of the top leaves of the auto Dosidos were starting to develop very slight white stress spots on the leaf tips under 850 PPFD, so I reduced it to 700-750 PPFD/43-45 DLI, and 1 hour less light, I think this is their comfort zone without pushing them too hard (I don't use CO2). With the heat and despite the air conditioning and dehumidifier, it is difficult on some days to get below 55% humidity, the 4 plants received a preventative spray of Botryprot at J+45. A good defoliation was carried out on the Purple Punch Auto, focusing on the underside of the plant and also removing the lowest secondary branches that were receiving very little light. This was necessary as it was becoming very bushy, and I prefer to sacrifice a little yield to ensure all 4 plants have proper air circulation. There definitely wasn't room for five plants like on day one πŸ˜‚

Skunky420 ➑️ Day 50, the 4 plants each received 1 liter of PK Booster compost tea this morning. Two of the Dosidos autos are slightly more advanced in their maturation than the third, and the Purple Punch auto will likely have to finish flowering outdoors by the time I harvest the Dosidos autos. Nematodes were added to the watering again on day+48, a few fungus gnats have reappeared. Currently at 750-800 PPFD ➑️ Update J+50: Finally, I put the Purple Punch auto outside today with my peppermint and basil. It won't finish flowering at the same time as the Dosidos auto, so I put it outside now and gave them more space. Peppermint and basil love Biobizz, by the way :)

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+56, the three Dosidos auto received their last weekly dose of Bio PK 5-8 yesterday. From now on, I'll begin flushing with reverse osmosis water at 0.3 EC. One of the three phenotypes deserves to stay for at least another three weeks, maybe even a month, but I have no choice; I'll have to harvest it at the same time as the other two, since the air conditioning has been running full blast since the beginning of June... But I think it should still be ripe enough to be harvested with the other two in two weeks, and I prefer not to put it outside for just one week given the risk of pests with this seemingly endless heat. Currently at 750-800 PPFD The Purple Punch auto is really taking its time; it doesn't suffer from the heat. The silicium flash makes them super resistant. She also received her weekly dose of Bio PK 5-8 yesterday. The first day I put it outside, a few tarnished dull bug (last photo) attacked some of the flowers. I'd never had them before, but they haven't come back since 🀞 A few sachets of Ulti mite spical were added under the canopy of the purple punch auto to protect it from possible red spider mites as well, given the time it has left to finish flowering. At the moment, there have been no attacks from spider mites or thrips 🀞

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+63, the Purple Punch Auto outdoors received 2.5 liters of PK Booster Compost Tea yesterday. The buds are starting to develop little by little. We can see some brown pistils, probably due to the recent heat. Some days, one or two dull stinging bugs reappear, but they don't seem to be doing much damage at the moment. The Dosidos Autos plants are continuing to mature, but the least mature phenotype started senescence quite early, either due to the heat or because it should perhaps have received a third tablet or some Orgatrex or Silicium Flash on the soil surface a few weeks ago. It will still be mature enough to be harvested with the other two in a week. As a precaution, for the past week all the plants, including those outside, have been receiving water that has been oxygenated with an air pump and cooled to 20-22°C with ice packs (I was worried it might be the beginning of Pythium at one point with temperatures between 28 and 29°C in the tent, and the lower leaves drooping slightly). Skunky420 I added Bio PK 5-8 this morning. The Purple Punch Auto has almost doubled in bud size since I added 2.5 liters of PK Booster compost tea last week. I added 20 grams of Silicium flash to the surface of the soil three days ago, as some of the lower leaves were already starting to yellow. It's holding up well in the heat, but I think it's consuming more nutrients too. I also increased the Calmag a little to 0.5 EC instead of 0.4 because the heat makes her consume more calcium as well.

️ Harvest day ️ for the Dosidos Autos! 68 days total from seeds to harvest, and what a smell! The buds are magnificent and bursting with trichomes. I am always impressed by the speed and yield at which autoflowering plants complete their cycle. Whole plants are drying, hanging from hangers, except for one of the three where I had to cut the plant in two so the buds wouldn't touch. With the air conditioning and a duct running from the unit to the tent's air intake, the air temperature is 20-21Β°C and between 55 and 60% humidityβ€”the only way to achieve these drying conditions right now with the heatwave. No deficiencies from start to finish. I'm a big fan of Biotabs and its ease of use, and I can't wait to try it with photoperiod strains. Mia from Biotabs also gave me great advice when I had a question, so really top-notch service from the brand. I can only recommend their products! :D In the last photos, you can see my summer 2025 harvest with the same Barney's Dosidos auto strain grown outdoors, in 11L pots and using BioCanna fertilizer.

Bio PK 5-8

Skunky420 ➑️Day+76, the Purple Punch auto received her dose of Bio PK 5-8 yesterday, she is starting to swell up nicely on her buds and it already smells amazing. The drop in temperature to below 28Β°C this week will surely help its buds swell more. In the last photos, you can see the Dosidos Auto during and after trimming. The taste and smell are incredible. In one, you can clearly see and smell the influence of GSC, with its sativa structure, delicious taste, and effect. The other smells like strawberry, a bit like a Strawberry Cough, but with gassy and fruity notesβ€”clearly an indica phenotype with very compact buds. As for the taste, the combination of Biotabs and reverse osmosis water is fantastic; it's incredibly smooth, and the taste is super clean, everything I love. On the third pheno, which was the least mature of the three Dosidos Autos, I found just a little bit of mold starting, only slightly yellowed inside a few buds (about 30-40g), but no cottony white or extensive mold growth. So I decided to separate it from the rest of the harvest after drying and make bubble hash with it soon (store in the freezer for now, along with the small sugar trimming leaves). Also, in the summer heat, I use a thermoelectric wine cellar (those with compressors produce frost, thermoelectric is perfect for weed) to store my harvest, and it's already full even though I haven't even harvested the Purple Punch Auto yet, so it's perfect for me to make hash with that one. Luckily, there's 0 trace of mold on the other two.

Skunky420 ➑️ Day+84, the Purple Punch Auto received her last dose of Bio PK 5-8 (half dose) two days ago, and since then I've started the initial flush with water at 0.2 EC for approximately 10-12 days. At harvest time I will do a bud washing to remove dust and the few hairs from my dogs.

Happy Harvest Day!

️️ Day+91 harvested the Purple Punch Auto this morning. I don't think it's a good example of the phenotype, given that it started foxtailing its buds after being moved outdoors due to the heat. The buds are large but airy. It is what it is; it's very good genetics, no doubt, but the outdoor conditions were harsh for strong successful flowering. And for the sake of discretion for the neighbors, I couldn't put a shade sail over the plant during the hottest hours without it attracting too much attention. A bud wash with hydrogen peroxide was done before hanging the buds on hangers in the tent, and judging by the water in the buckets after washing, I'm glad I did it. It will still probably be good daytime weed. I'll see, depending on the taste after two weeks of curing, whether I make hash or keep the flowers.

@MonyetDiablero, thank you bro! Drying won't be easy with this heatwave, but I should be able to manage with temperatures around 23Β°C during the day and 20Β°C at night, and between 55 and 60% humidity. Harvest tonight! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

HEY SKUNKY420! πŸ”₯ QUICK QUESTION FOR MY NEXT OUTDOOR RUN NEXT YEAR! β˜€οΈπŸŒΏ WHICH ONE DO YOU RECOMMEND MORE: DOSIDOS AUTO OR PURPLE PUNCH AUTO? πŸ‘‘πŸ₯Š ALSO, WHAT IS YOUR AVERAGE DRY YIELD FROM EACH ONE? HOW MANY GRAMS SECO? βš–οΈπŸ’¨

@ricar , Dosidos Auto is very reliable in terms of harvest time as advertised by the breeder and overall quality. I'm always very happy with it; it's a great autoflower and has delicious, different flavors depending on the phenotype. Purple Punch Auto is the first time I've grown; it was a free seed. It seems quite productive, the smell is great too, and it takes longer to flower than the breeder advertises, but I think that's due to the large size of this phenotype. I'll give you my smoke test results for Purple Punch Auto after curing. In a 5-gallon pot, 143 grams for the most productive of the three Dosidos auto, 102 grams for the one that smells like strawberry, the third one I didn't weigh is in the freezer to make bubble hash after harvesting the Purple Punch

@Skunky420 Thanks for the amazing breakdown, BRO! 🀜πŸ’₯ I'm definitely going to try the Dosidos Auto next year because I love SWEET and delicious flavors! πŸ“πŸ Honestly, even 102 grams is a BRUTAL production for an auto, absolutely insane! πŸš€πŸ₯¦ If you are kind enough to help me out, what NUTRIENTS and products did you use for this run? Just the names are perfect to get an idea! Thanks a lot, HERMANITO! Happy growing! β˜€οΈπŸŒ±

@ricar, Try the Biotabs range with the water-only feeding program and Biobizz light mix for soil. The silicium flash makes them very vigorous and resistant. Adding Bio PK 5-8 and PK booster compost tea, alternating during flowering, works really well and is very easy to use. Use a 5-gallon pot minimum, no smaller, it's better for healthy microbial life. Apply a preventative foliar spray of neem oil starting on day 15 of growth and once a week thereafter until the very first pistils appear, then stop using neem oil completely at that point. 7 or 8 days after the last neem oil spray, place Koppert Swirski Ulti-Mite and Ulti-Mite Special sachets under the canopy. These will protect your flowering plants from pests (replace the sachets after 4-5 weeks if you have a long flowering period). Always enter the grow room without clothes worn outside. Only clean clothes. Hygiene and discipline mean fewer pest problems, resulting in healthy plants from day one to last day, leading to healthier plants with a better yield and higher quality. The one problem I haven't yet managed to completely eliminate in organic indoor growing during the vegetative stage is fungus gnats, which love the humidity from the humidifier. But that's growing; you never stop learning, and I love it :)

@ricar , haha yes, I remove the hairs one by one when I see them, but with three labradors, one of whom loves to sleep next to the Purple Punch... it'll be better with bud washing πŸ˜‚ Thanks a lot man for your positive comments, and best of luck with your grow!

Happy harvest! 😍 So frosty! ❄️πŸ”₯ Dosidos is actually one of those genetics I've always wanted to grow. Yours looks amazing! πŸ‘ŒπŸŒ± I did a genetic cross project and named it OG Cream. I'd be happy if you check it out. πŸ‘½πŸ™πŸ”₯ I'm currently drying the harvest from this new cross and doing the final testing. I'd really appreciate hearing your thoughts once you take a look! πŸ’š

@Mrs_Larimar, and the Purple Punch Auto, which is in the bottom left of the photo of the four, is 24 hours ahead of the three Dosidos Auto since they sprouted. It was a free seed, but the genetics seem very strong too

awsome, plants are getting huge, i think they will need 3 more weeks at least- but its going to be very rewarding
Skunky420
Skunky420 commented1mo ago
@Mia_BIOTABS I think so too, but in two weeks they should be quite ripe, especially the two plants in the back. I would have liked to let them mature longer, but I have to go to an event on July 4th for three days, and the air conditioning has been running 24/7 since the end of May/beginning of June, plus the dehumidifier is running 24/7 as well (I live in a humid zone), and I'm also going to use them for drying, so I need to cut my energy bill a bit… But I'm more than happy with this grow; these are some of the best plants I've ever grown indoors, with no deficiencies whatsoever, and I can't wait to start my next grow with Biotabs and photoperiod varieties. Thank you so much for your valuable advices Mia ! πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸ™πŸ»πŸŒ±πŸ’š
