Germination
2mo ago
MindFlowers68 So this diary started out as Pineapple OG from Seedsman, but I may have gotten a bad pack.I tried germinating two of the seeds with no luck. I dug the first one up two days after all my other seeds sprouted, and it just looks kind of dark and didn't have any taproot coming out so then I soaked another seed and waited another six days and didn't see anything on that one either so I decided to try the Karibbean mango instead. This time the seed germinated in four days. I was getting a little worried because I only do a single plant in a 4 x 4, but I got it situated in time. I think it shouldn't make much difference that it's time to flip to flower. Maybe it might even help me if this thing is a stretchy girl. Really excited to get going again after this winter. I was able to get started a little bit sooner than I did last year. I had a ton of cleaning and set up and rearranging to do. I got myself a new 4 x 8 tent to replace my old cheap one I got that lasted me like three or four runs. This new vivosun is pretty sweet. It came with the high CFM bars in the kit. It has apparently 2000D fabric. It seems about as thick as my gorilla light tent and my AC Infinity tent. It also opens up all the way like my gorilla tent which is a huge plus I didn't know it did that and also the windows covers come off completely, which is pretty neat. The pole thickness is way better than the gorilla light tent. I decided to get a few new fans and I'm now going to run 4 honeywells on the ground and each tent once they're both going. I got my vivosun set up and cleaned equipment as I needed to get it set up and I had later got my gorilla cleaned out and that's going with vegetable seeds right now from my garden. Once they're out of there, I will be close to harvesting these autos and then I can set up my scrogs for my for photoperiod plants two per 4x8 tent. My soil is going on its third season and I took a picture of what I re-amended it with, along with the liquid fertilizers I will be using. Another difference this year is that I am going to be running a mushroom tent in my lung room for mostly fun and food, but also see if it makes any real difference for my plants. Going to be growing, blue oyster, Pink oyster and lions mane to start.

MindFlowers68 Shes starting off slow and first few leave look a little weird but i think it will push though. Im thinking maybe a ph issue with my soil. Maybe that is why the other seeds didn't germinate. Maybe a pocket of gypsum or untreated peat moss.

MindFlowers68 The plants had to fend for themselves for the most part this week. Although, I don't think they have any problem doing that. I did have a batch of boogie brew go in that they got fed, and I upped my kelp and minerals to a half dose from a quarter dose. I went for lighter, compost, tea, batch. The brewer I have is 32 gallons. I'm mixed up 3 cups each of the two part tea. I only watered twice this week roughly every four days it bounces between three and two waterings a week usually. They got about a half gallon each time. My outdoor spigot leaked into the basement so I had to spend Four days focused on cleaning that up. The humidity's been kind of low, which is sort of unusual here. Figures I can't be in flower right now, Because I always struggle to keep it low. At least I'm going in the summer. The most challenging part is just keeping my humidifiers filled with water. I have two running in my tent right now, sometimes have to fill twice a day. I normally start my seedlings in a smaller tent, but they're starting to get to a point where they will start helping keep the environment is equilibrium. Depending on when I get my vegetable seedlings out of my gorilla tent, I might try to see if I can transplant into my final pots for my photoperiods so the soil can help keep my tent humidified. I won't be able to do any scrog training on the photos. But I could put two of the autos in each of the tents in the middle until they finish.

MindFlowers68 Karibbean Mango is looking much better this week. She looks like she outgrew whatever was in the soil that was causing issues. I was a little nervous there for that one pot but she's going to catch up just fine now. Seems like my seedlings sometimes always look a little funky at first, but they outgrow it. None of them have any variegation now.

MindFlowers68 Vegging plants are doing really well right now. They were thirsty this week getting a little over a gallon every two days. I haven't cut off a single leaf from any of them yet, and have been trying to disturb them as little as possible. I just been filling the humidifiers and watering every two days and making sure the tents clean. The lower branches and leaves do you need some attention as they are close to the soil and some are turning yellow now. But this coming week, I will have my new 65 gallon pots for my other tent, and I will be able to transplant my photo periods within the next few days so I will do my slight lollipop trimming/defoliation and I may top them I may just bend the main stem over. I haven't decided yet. I am not quite ready to set up my scrub nets after I transplant because I have my auto flowers that need to finish. Part of me wants to kick them outside on the deck but they only have a few more weeks and I should be able to deal with my photo's what I want until the space is clear.

MindFlowers68 The very beginning of the week started with transplanting. I started bringing all my soil from my past grows down to my tents and layering it so that I had a little bit from each and mixed it in equal parts. I wanted all the long term amendments I've been putting like the rock dust in to be in good proportions in my soil. I did add some juice to the soil in the form of Gaia green 444 neem meal, A healthy dose of diatomaceous earth, A sprinkle of mosquito bits. Also, at the time of transplanting, I added some Mycorrhiza, and watered in with Boogie Brew. I always sacrifice a 5 gallon pot for my big photos by cutting them out to minimize root damage. Not only that, I can't even get them out with practically killing the plant with the fabric pots. I may try to get some reusable ones with the zipper soon. I ended up just kind of tossing them. I added two more 65 gallon pots to the fleet. That way each of the photoperiods gets their own equal playing field. I also noticed how much easier it is watering with the 65 gallon pots opposed to the 50 gallons I've been running in the other tent. I let the plants get acclimated to their new homes most of the week then, towards the end of the week they got their first trimming in the form of a lollipop. I think I'm not gonna top the plants this round since I got them transplanted in a good time for training for the scrog net.

MindFlowers68 All of the photoperiods got their first scrog nets setup the beginning of this week. I usually top my plants at least one time and I'm not scared to, but I think this time it's not the move. Luckily, I was able to get them transplanted within a reasonable time they weren't overgrown I could get them under the net. I do wish I could get the canopy lower but I don't like doing that because then it's hard to water and it does give it more airflow underneath. Sometimes it does seem a little counterproductive to grow a plant with such long legs, but I think in the end it makes for a nice plant thats had a few extra weeks to veg and make strong branches. I did another batch of boogie brew for them this week as well. And my mushroom bags in their tent fully colonized with mycelium, so I cut those open to fruit. This is the first time since I've started my diaries this year I've been able to have them all updated to their current week. It seems like my uploading issues are starting to get a little bit better. I don't wanna jinx it but at least I was able to upload using my phone and not having to download all my files again on my computer and all that mess. The more difficult things for me now it's just managing my files and keeping everything organized so it feels good to be up-to-date so I can focus on getting good pictures and not thinking about catching up.

MindFlowers68 Total auto pilot week for photoperiods, other than a few leaf tucks and branch adjusting to spread it out. I've been busy out in the garden outside, so haven't had time to hover too much around them this week but they don't need it. They're actually getting really close to filling the nets a few weeks early. They are loving the fish hydrolysate, and it's really pumping up the growth. I just wish I could add more like it says on the bottle without it tanking my pH levels down to like 4. I wasn't in more of a habit of using it more during veg, but got out of the flow of it because I don't like how it is hard to clean out of my compost bin and watering containers. I feel like I can Harper pathogens and that stuff I'll try to keep my watering stuff pretty clean. But lately, with my compost tea, because I just been adding it in at the end, since I have to do a very thorough clean afterwards anyway. If you haven't picked up already, I'm definitely a fan of lazy gardening. the only reason I mix up big batches of soil cause I'm really a true soil nerd and it's fun. I had the idea to maybe to use wood ash to neutralize it a little back to 6.5 But I didn't make a big enough fire and didn't collect enough ash. I want to stick to organic and not weird pH adjusters.
