KnightRider Hey Cannafam,
Welcome to my Sleep Outside diary.
This gals been on my to do list for a while now, as shes meant to knock you asleep and as a person with various medical issues i really dont sleep well most nights. My ambition for this gal therefor is to grow her, lick her and then fall asleep outside đ
The weather here in the UK has been flipflopping for the past couple of weeks but is slowly warming up and weve had a few days around the 20c mark. Daylight hours are currently at 15 hr 19mins for today and this is increasing by a few minutes daily. I was planning on planting next week but il be going away for a few days soon so i want to get her planted and established.
For this grow il be using my usual 70/30 split of Plagron Royal mix and Canna Coco pro blended together in a 3 gallon pot for a nice airated substrate and il be using Plagron nutes throughout.
Her seed has been soaked for a couple of hours today in a shot glass with great white. Ive made a shallow hole a couple of mm deep, wet down and put some more great white in before covering a gently firming in.
Ive had an issue recently with a squirell digging in plant pots so shes ben covered with a grape box pinned with some turf pins so that the little bleeder cant get in there. Also ive added some diamatous earth round the edge and some copper tape for our slug and snail friends!
Lets hope this gal does well and that i get some sleep, Lets Grow!! đđđ

My gals had a very chilly start to life this week
After planting the seed came up last friday and i get the impression she didn't want to come out as she didn't pop her shell until today. Basically its been cold and wet here with the lowest earlier in the week at 9 degrees C at night.
I probably should have waited to plant, but im an eager beaver and get impatient for sweet sweet bud đ¤Ŗ
Daylight hours are currently at 15.36 hrs and increasing and we are set for some warmer/normal weather next week
Shes just had a few drops more of great white and rain water for meals. Im hoping her chilly start dosen't effect her to much and this little sproutling does look stout, hairy and strong đ
Lets see how we go and il see you next week, thanks for stopping by đâī¸

Its been a real mixed week here for my gal, il start with the weather which has been improving. The first half of the week we had allot of rain, wind and it was generally cool with day temps of 17c and 12c at night, by Friday the tempreture had come up to 19c in the day 13c at night and we'd had some nice warm sun. Her yoghurt tub was taken off on tuesday and yesterday and today shes had a scorching 30c in the day and 18c at night which is much warmer than normal for May in the UK. Daylight is currently 15hrs 53minutes.
I went away on Saturday daytime and she had a good watering due to increasing temps with great white.
What i found when i came back today was the local squirrel had been digging in the pot and she was in the hollow on her side đ The little shitbag hadn't even buried nuts in the pot,he/she was doing it to piss me off i reckon
(it worked đ¤Ŗ)
I very gently watered her and then propped her up with damp soil, and she should be ok if not traumatised by her attack. Development wise her first true leaves are through and these lush green and healthy and now shes upright again growth should speed up. Ive put some turf pins round the pot with the hope being if my friend comes back that a) they poke his feckin eyes out, or b) if he jumps up the movement will scare him off đ¤đ¤đ¤
The weathers meant to stay nice for the next week so stay tuned for next weeks come back special! Thanks for stopping by đđđ

Its been a pretty good week for my gal, we started the week with really hot weather for May, with temps of 30c daytime and 18c at night, the tempratures have slowly tapered off daily by a couple of degrees each day and by Thursday - Saturday we were looking at 22c daytime 14c nightime.
The days have been solid sunshine with humidity about 55 until today when its been raining all day, current temp is 17c and humidity has shot up to 97. Daylight is currently at 16 hours 7 minutes currently.
With all the Sun this week shes had good solid growth and is just starting her 3rd set of true leaves and is looking nice and healthy đ No feed again this week just great white with every watering.
I have had a slight issue this week when the wind blew the diamatous earth onto a couple of leaves, i've now learnt from this that it actually breaches the leaves cell walls and causes damage, in the picture showing this it looks like nute burn or potassium deficiency but i observed the effect a short time after and gave her a very gentle finger tip wash. Im now thinking of putting the powder around the pot but thats not much good when raining. On the squirrel front the turf pins are working, i know this as both pots were side by side and my little friend tried to dig up my other grow!
The weathers looking a bit more unsettled for the next week but with her solid start hopefully she should be ok.
Thats all from me for now, thanks for stopping by đâī¸

The past week has been one of stark contrast for my gal compared to the one previous, if theres one thing the UK weather can do with consistantly its variability! Its been raining everyday this week with only one afternoon of Sun and thankfully/gratefully it has also been Sunny this morning đ
Tempretures have dropped significantly and for the 1st half of the week we were looking at 14c daytime and 10c at night, Friday - Sunday were all 16c Day and 10c night and today weve got extra warmth at a heady 17c đ¤Ŗ Daylight length is currently at 16 hrs 18 minutes.
Growth wise shes doing really well, her 2nd set of leaves have a slight mutation and are webbed a bit like ducksfoot, which interesting but not a point of concern as the next tier has come out normal, and shes just started her 4th set, her side branches at each node are just starting to peek through. Shes not had any feed or great white this week due the free continous rain water.
Shes also has a few markings from some sort of flys which were shoed off of her earlier today but nothing major, and considering shes been chronically overwatered for a week shes looking really healthy đ
The weather from the reports is looking to be a bit better for the next week, so hopefully she'll have a bit more Sun!
Thats all from me for now, thanks for stopping by đâī¸

Its been a real mixed week for my gal. We started the first half of the week like the last, low tempretures around 17c daytime 12c night, continous rain and winds at around 30mph with high humidity 80%. On Friday afternoon things to dry out a bit, with Saturday and Sunday having some decent Sun at 23c, however last night we had a thunderstorm and today has been grey and overcast. Daylight hours are currently at 16hrs 24minutes.
Ive been in two minds about the route to take with this gal as FastBuds recommends defoliation or LST due to the strains bushy nature. For outdoor plants i dont normally bother much with training due the Sun moving, but i decided on Friday to give LST a bash and she was pinned down with a few turf pins, ive also turned the edges of the pot down and added safety pins around the circumfrence which can then be used as anquor points with twisty ties if needed.
Growth wise shes not got allot taller this week due to the weather, In retrospect i planted this gal little early, but was tricked in by a particularly nice warm May for the UK. She did however dry out enough for me to get her first feed in yesterday and she is looking healthy still despite the weather đ
Shes also had some leaf miner damage, nothing major but will keep my eye on. Ive not seen my friend the squirrell again and ive started putting the diamatous earth around the base of the pot when dry to ward off any slugs/snails
Thats all from me for now, thanks for stopping by âī¸đ

KnightRider Hey Cannafam Happy Monday,
My Apricot gal has had a fairly good week overall, however the leaf miners had started to spread so i defoliated lower fan leaves earlier in the week, she has now got some trails on the upper fan leaves, but she needs leafage for progression so ive started trying to squash the larvae between thumb and forefinger. Hopefully this should work, ive had leaf miners on plants before but generally leave them, but theyve been worse than normal on this grow.
Training has been piecemeal each day, but as shes quite low down i have torn a couple of leaves slightly by accident where i couldnt get to the base of shoots, trying to hold them in their dedired positions whilst pinning them down. Although il continue to make continuous adjustments, shes about to start flowering so i may not seperate any more auxilery shoots into main branches, but we'll see dependant on if theres much sretch going into flower. Feed wise shes just had the one dose this week of Plagron, Trace and Great White.
Weather wise its been allot drier/consistant overall but with fog, mist and drizzle starting each day Tuesday - Saturday with the Sun coming through for a bit in the afternoons. Humidity has remained very high but with constant temps of around 19c daytime 14c nightime. Sunday the misty/cloudy days had gone and it was a lovely hot 25c day/18c night and today its been a scorching 27c!
Daylight hours are at 16hrs 26mins and will now start reducing as we had the Summer Soltice yesterday âšī¸
Overall my gal seems to be happy with good growth, this strain seems well suited to the UK weather but the real test will be in flower, as the past few years we have had a wet summer with ensuing budrot. At the moment this strain really dosen't seem phased by our changeable weather conditions and seems quite hardy đ
Thats all from me for now, thanks for stopping by âī¸đ
Looks healthy! Much rain here in germany, too. Apricot Auto is one of the Strains I am circeling of Fastbuds. If you like her I might give her a Chance. Very fascinating! I hope youll enjoy her.
@Lotopharg, thanks bud i think its helped being in a fabric pot with all the rain, but at the moment she seems quite happy overall in the rubbish UK weather, which as you say is probably quite similar to yours over the water đâī¸
