Dog wanted to inspect plants, ended up chewing up the leaves of both plants. Caught it just in time and replanted and added fresh water&soil. The Humboldt Blue Dream Genetics are Super Strong. Next day she was taking it like nothing happened at all and kept bursting with growth.
Started noticing the over nitrogen dosing effect of slight clawing and folding, will nix the nitrogen until flower begins. Continuing with Open Sesame for another week & 1/2 until flower switch at end of week 6.
Cant wait to see the blue dream stretch when i release the restraints, gonna need to get some advice on proper lollipopping/defoliation as last grow i did not do so well on this regard, just going to set an imaginary line in which everything below gets cut.
Had to cut the Grow Big after last week, noticed a slight clawing and drooping from nitrogen toxicity. Growth is still excellent and they are both looking nice green and perky. Going to cut down the daylight by one hour every other day until next week when I hit 12/12 from 16/8.
Cannot wait to see this blue dream's potential, she is a vibrant and healthy girl.
Continuing defoliation on both plants weekly, as their growth is outstanding but too many leaves. Pistils popping up everywhere now, can't wait to see these girls in action.
Nitrogen has stabilized on both plants, feeding it nice and heavy doses of Open Sesame and Tiger Bloom to get them that rich potassium. I'm afraid the blue dream might try to get TOO big before she's done, either way can't wait. 6 more weeks on Frisian, 7-9 on blue dream.
Watering the Blue dream every 3 days now, frisian Dew every 4. Their root systems are super efficient at drinking up every last ounce of water, will have to make sure not to overfeed in weeks to come.
Going into week 4 everyone is super happy and thriving. The Blue Dream is growing at a rate of 1/2 to a whole Inch in a day. The Frisian is beautiful with buds all the way down to her short base. both girls are starting to smell funky and just coated in thick layers of trichomes., good stuff.
Had an issue with the cooling for a couple days this week, temps never went over 84, no sign of stress anyway today. Will be feeding frisian for one more week before i start flushing her out good. Terpenes on the Blue Dream smell amazing, same terpenes i got from the Glueberry, those telltale blueberry pheno terps. The blue dream girl is just exploding with trichomes and healthy new growth every day.
5 more weeks left on BD, 3 more on frisian
Continuing through flower, the Blue Dream will def reach its advertised 60-65 day flowering period. The Frisian dew has a shorter period at 56 days or 8 weeks. The Blue Dream has such great genetics, the sweet blueberry smell is so profound now, she will be a tasty girl. Frisian dew has a skunkier more earthy pungency to it.
Going into week 7, making sure the Frisian Girl gets a good healthy flush and finishes ripening up the next couple of weeks. Blue Dream is still on track to finish by the first week of October.
Moving into the Final Week of flush for the Blue Dream before she gets the Axe. The Frisian Girl is taking good care of me at the moment so no complaints so far :).
I gave Frisian Dew a go again, this time I knocked it out of the park. Plant was short but had 12 colas perfectly spaced. Is now in darkness for next 2 days before I chop more.
Removed 3 of the main colas to sample and woah, this stuff comes as advertised. Heady high with happy feelings of comfort, the taste leaves something to be desired, its got that real earthy just regular skunk to it.
Buds are nice and sticky all over, purps started showing during the flush, looking real pretty.
The Frisian was marketed as a 7-8 week strain, I let it go for 56 days and will spend another 2 days in darkness before final chop.
** Final Notes: Frisian Dew is definitely an outdoor strain, it wants to bush so much, but with LED's that bush is a little TOO much. Had to massively defoliate throughout the cycle to keep her from struggling to breath due to brush density.
The Buds this time around are near perfect, I was able to coax some beautiful purples out of her in the last week of flush. Buds are sticky, very resinous, and give a positive buzz that doesnt knock me to the floor, but keeps me stimulated.
Nice haze effect mixed with relaxation and uplifting feelings.
Blue Dream comes on like a cannon fire on that first draw, then sets into an uncontrollable smile and waves of happy feelings on the second pull for an enjoyable experience that lasts hours after partaking. Has that unmistakable booberry smell to it when you open up some nugs, and has a strong pungent smell on that jar opening. These buds are so covered in crystal, I can't wait to make some edibles from the trim.
**Smoke Report (4 week Cure) -- This girl packs a punch without being too harsh, the blueberry terpenes have been preserved nicely and give amazing aftertaste and smells.
I have to put it down after a couple puffs because it just hits you like a baseball to the face if that baseball was made of smiles and happiness.
**Edibles Report: Delivers a similar feel, good 4-5 hour active buzz with euphoria and a full body relaxing feeling.
HSO has an amazing genetic lock on this strain, it was the least finicky of any plant I've grown and was the heartiest.
Blue Dream was a dream to grow, never complained much about the nutrients i gave it, made sure to switch the nitrogen feeds at the right times anyway. Including the 24 hour dark cycle i gave her, she was flushed for 13 days before chopping.
you can see a couple colas managed to get NICE and purple even a little bleached calyxes too. More to come after final dry trim and curing
Final Notes: The Blue Dream was a massive yielder, the Colas alone weighed a whopping 104g. The rest of it weighed about approx. 95g
trim for a total of 199g from ONE plant.
Her trichomes were on average 80% cloudy 10% clear 10% amber, makes for a VERY relaxing buzz and euphoric start
Chopped at day 64 of flower
@LongJohn420, Thanks for pointing that out :) I did not even notice. Gotta give respect to the right breeder in this case, this strain is a mighty giant. The genes on this girl are fan-tastic and solid, I can't wait for her to finish.
Those sweet candy blueberry terpenes have already kicked in, every time i move her to water i get crop dusted with beautiful smells.
