DWC Pineapple Kush (first try)

Mr_Santos The plant is developing splendidly. However, due to the high temperatures, it draws more water than it can consume nutrients. The heatwave in Germany means that I have to cool my nutrient solution down to about 17 degrees with ice packs/ice cubes once a day. Root growth is starting to establish a bit. After a week of 12/12, there are still no signs of flowering. I'm curious to see how big the baby will get. The 70x70 tent is already completely filled in width, despite cutting out unnecessary shoots and leaves. 😘

Mr_Santos Hey! Since the slight flower buds look like they will appear soon, I've switched to Canna Aqua Flores A&B to work in the Generative Phase 1 of the Canna schedule. Unfortunately, I have to cool the water in the reservoir twice a day, and about 1.5L of water evaporates daily, which quickly raises the EC value. I'm considering moving to the 120x120 due to width and soon height. DLI is around 30-32. It's worth noting that I've already switched to 12/12 during Vegetative Phase 2. So I've really stuck to the Canna Aqua schedule regarding the individual phases. Everything else is going great, and I'm looking forward to seeing the first female characteristics! 😍

Mr_Santos Everything is a bit better now that it's not 40 degrees outside. Today I can see that the flowering is starting. The roots also look great. I've now started fertilizing with CO2. Let's see how it goes. I've also completed the nutrient change. The plant needs some time and little stress now. It's too big for the 70x70, so it's moving to a bigger space tomorrow. So far, DWC growing is a lot of fun.

Mr_Santos Hey guys; Moved into the 120x120x200 tent. The plant is doing really well and the roots seem very vibrant. I've lowered the EC value from 2.0 to about 1.75, as I have very rapid transpiration (thanks to the high outside temperatures). I keep the water in the reservoir between 18°C-23°C daily. (Cooling pack) I'm really curious to see how much more mass the plant will gain. As I said, my very first DWC run. So it's already a big bush. Haha P.S.: I'm more than satisfied with my new super powerful air pump. I specifically chose an oversized one. Peace

Mr_Santos Info will come tomorrow! The plant is in good shape. That's all I can say for now. It needs to recover from the trimming and the previously high EC value. The nutrient solution is currently being made at about 1.0. Apparently, the plant still has enough nutrients stored in its cells. I'm really curious to see how massive the buds will get. You can see for yourselves what giant roots those are (see video)! Overall, it's doing really well so far!

Mr_Santos Infos to follow. I've still been dealing with slight over-fertilization issues this week. That's why I've been working with a starting EC of about 0.9 for 3/4 of the week. Now the quantity recommendations are for a starting EC of about 1.7 ms/cm. All main nutrients as well as various additives in reduced form. But the biggest problem is the heatwave again. I have to replace cooling packs every 3-4 hours. Other than that, everything's great. But I think there's a big surprise coming. I mean the massive flower growth. As I said, this is my first (R)DWC grow and it's super fun. And that's the main thing :) Ps: 100W were added to the 200W to ensure a more even light distribution for the plant. Mr_Santos Hey Friends, In the last two weeks, it has been very hot in Germany, with temperatures between 35 and 38 degrees. This has caused the plant to have an extreme water demand, so I had to mix a new reservoir every two days. However, there were no issues with biofilms. The buds are in the generative phase, where they are gaining weight. It's spreading out well, although the light distribution isn't optimal. There have been no mold or pest problems. In about 1 to 1.5 weeks, I plan to cut back on the nutrients. It's been cooler for the last two days, so I don't have to cool as much, and I can increase the lamp power. The humidity has slightly risen, but everything remains stable. The plant has grown quite wide, and I hope the branches don't break. The EC value has been stable at 1.2 to 1.4 for a while, and I haven't given any PK 13/14 for 1.5 weeks. Since the plant consumes a lot of water, I will need a larger reservoir for the next round. Overall, there have been no further issues apart from slight signs of over-fertilization. Info about the smell: The strain smells delicious, strong, and sweet. I'm excited!

Mr_Santos The last post before the harvest. This post covers flowering weeks 8 & 9. For the last 1.5 weeks, I only watered with an EC value of 0.4 ms/cm (only Enzym). Now all the trichomes are milky and 10 percent amber. The plant was hastily tied together with jute ropes due to bent stems and heavy buds. The only criticism is the strong foxtailing. But that doesn't detract from the quality. I'm really proud of my first DWC grow!

Mr_Santos Now it's time to dry for 5-7 days and then comes the refinement. I'll add info about the terpene profile and effect later, as this strain is new to me. The yield will be especially interesting since it's my first time growing hydro: 😎 Additional info: It has officially been dried for 2 1/2 days hanging upside down with light air circulation and about 60-70% RH at 24 degrees. The allowed amount of buds has been separated from the branches and packed into the Groove Bags with 62% Humidity Bags. I didn't want the flowers to dry too quickly this time (due to high air temperature in the tent), so I will open the bags every day now to let the built-up chlorophyll evaporate. In the next few days, the finishing touches (dry trim) will come. Smell: It already smells very fruity and just delicious. Bud structure: Resinous but somewhat airy buds. However, they are just now being refined in terms of consistency and terpene profile: 😎😍 Info: According to German law, the material that exceeded the allowed amount was destroyed: 🤝

Mr_Santos Hey friends, I've decided to document my first DWC grow with the Pineapple Kush here. It took a few weeks to understand everything and get into it, especially after working with soil for years. I'm now around week 7 of Veg, and I have to say it's really fun, and we'll see how it goes when I switch to flowering in about a week. The Pineapple Kush is definitely taking up nutrients well, so I'm currently managing with an EC value of 1.9-2.0 ms/cm. All products are purely mineral-based since I was unhappy with the root product Rhizotonik from Canna, as the roots were always discoloring a lot, and I had to rinse them every day. But I'm using everything else from Canna Aqua Vega, and I'm doing great with that. For the roots, I simply use Hydro Roots from Plagron. It's purely mineral and doesn't discolor the roots.👌 For the base water, I use 50% tap water since it has good values and 50% osmosis water to lower the EC a bit and be able to add more nutrients. I'm always open to suggestions for improvement. THX💪
