PapaTerps Big Z - Wizard Trees
SUMMER is upon us and grows that were started around March are a week or so away from harvest - so that means I'll have an empty tent pretty soon! So I've decided to start another grow for this Summer and into Autumn.
I've selected Big Z by Wizard Trees for this grow, I've chosen her for her high quality Zkittlez genetics (aka Wizzy) and her spiced candy flavours! I will be vegging her for about 7 weeks and I will be using a mixture of growing techniques which I have used before, including topping with some low stress training. You're all more than welcome to follow along, I will try to detail my process without overloading each week with too much Information!
Day 1 (16/06)
- Seed dropped into a small metal screw tin filled with RO Tap water pH'd to 6.3 and stored in a dark warm room - she will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears; I will check the progress of the seed every ~12 hours.
Day 2
- The seed has already popped and a taproot has appeared, so I've filled a small 0.3L paper starter pot with some All-Mix and dropped the seed in!
Day 3
- The seedling has already appeared from the soil, with her two starter leaves already searching for light.
Day 5
- She has a nice long stem and her first leaves have started to develop šš»

šæ Watered every three days with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped her Fish-Mix and Acti-Vera nutrients to promote growth and plant health!
āļø I've removed two of her top most fan leaves to improve light penetration to the lower nodes, this will encourage lower stem growth.
š± Week 2 of Veg, and shes working on developing her root system in her new pot, stretching and strengthening her main stem as well as producing lower side stems šŖš» She is by far the largest plant in this grow, she's a beast! This one may be a candidate for multiple toppings!šš»

āļø I've removed a couple of her lower fan leaves to improve airflow and I've also topped her main stem to allow the lower stems to grow up and form a consistent canopy šŖš»
š± Week 3 of Veg, she recovered quickly from her first topping and has started to grow out her lower stems and supporting fan leaves! She has impressed me with her growth so far - I have at least another four weeks of veg planned for her, so shes going to be massive when I switch over to 12/12!!

āļø Great week for this one, she recovered well after her topping and immediately started stretching and developing new growth! I've lollipopped her to help with airflow and to encourage her to grow upwards, but other than that, she's just been left to do her thing šŖš»
š± Week 4 of Veg and she is rocketing, developing her stems and bud sites! I moved her into my new 5x5 tent with the G1000 light this week and she has responded well to it; she has more light and space to grow! She has another 3-4 weeks of veg left, so she might require another round of topping to ensure she doesn't outgrow the tent! But other than that, she's 10/10 so far!

šæ Watered every four days with 3L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've reduced her root nutrient as she no longer requires it and increased her CalMag because some of the plants were showing signs of magnesium deficiency. From next feeding, I will start to introduce her bloom nutrients.
āļø I've given her a good pre-flower defoliation and I've lollipopped her up to about where her first topping occured. Her canopy has naturally kept and even enough height after the toppings, so I haven't had to train her so far! She will be left alone now until her stretch phase of flower has completed.
š± Week 5 of Veg and 52 days from seed, shes had a fantastic veg never looked bothered by any topping or defoliation I gave her, she has also developed big thick stems, and has grown pistils around all of her bud sites, so she is ready for flower! Another week or so to go, but she's ready šš»
