MELs_Garden Hey, we're going to plant 6 Dark Devil Auto from Sweet Seeds. We're going to do an experiment, planting the 6 in separate groups of 2. - 2 on the balcony of a 4th floor - 2 on the balcony of a 4th floor - 2 on a balcony of a 1st floor in a closed balcony. Each one grown by a different person. We want to see the progression of the same plant, using similar mediums but in different environments. We'll keep you updated as we go along. On Tuesday, June 12, we soaked the seeds for about 12-16 hours in water with a bit of hydrogen peroxide. Then we moved them to a container with paper towels. In two days, all 6 have sprouted. Everything's great. Day 4 in germination, they're looking amazing and we barely have time to transplant, but all 6 have been transplanted, although only 1 of them is in a final pot. Initial watering and seed into the pot.

MELs_Garden Well, not much to tell. #5 has been attacked by Zou (my cat) and the other one got the seed stuck and lost a day or two, and well, it came out a bit stunted, looks like a lettuce. On day 11, I checked the pot to transplant and from what looked like a lettuce, I damaged half of the root, a total success... On day 13, we transplanted #5 and #6 into 13L pots. We watered with 1L of water with biorhiztonic (3ml) and 0.5L of water with final solution (0.3ml). Changed pot for #4 to a 13L one. We watered with 1L of water with biorhiztonic (3ml) and 0.5L of water with final solution (0.3ml).

MELs_Garden The Dark 5 is doing really well, the 6 is still a bit messed up, but it's pulling through. Day 19 The #1, #2, and #4 are doing pretty well, more or less as they should. The #3 got attacked by the cat, which practically pulled it out of the pot and decapitated it. The #5 is developing the best, and the #6 is coming out of the trauma it started with the seed stuck to it.

MELs_Garden On the 22nd, we did some watering. The transplant of the DD5 went well, and it looks like it has settled in nicely. Let's see if it takes advantage of the 18L pot.

MELs_Garden Day 29, moved the Dark 5 and 6 indoors. The 3 that are left will stay on the balcony. The Dark 5 and 2 are starting to pre-flower. By day 34, all have entered pre-flower. The Dark 6 has stayed at 30 cm. But the Dark 5 is stretching out strongly. Five days ago it was about 40 cm and in 5 days it has shot up to 70. Incredible!!!

MELs_Garden The Dark 6 is pretty messed up. It's not sprouting, the middle leaves are drying out, and there's only hair at the tip, which is turning red. The Dark 5 is growing way too much, 14cm in two days. I don't even know if that's good hahaha

MELs_Garden Watered with water and nothing else. Day 53 We did a little root wash and applied 0.6ml of BAC final solution. The next day we see that the wash did it good, or at least it seems so.

MELs_Garden It's getting there. I had some issues with watering and a little bit of over-fertilization, so for this watering, I just used water.

MELs_Garden Well, the DARK 1 and 6 died. The 2 and 3 have purple buds and you can already see they're producing something. The 4 is super dark and it's beautiful, good bud and nice color. (All of them are in 12L pots on balconies and are about 50/60cm tall.) The 5 is the only one we put indoors in an 18L pot and it's at 1.20m. Since I've had problems with excess temperature, the buds of the dark are bright green, it's the only exception.

MELs_Garden September 8th Dark Devil plants 1, 3, and 4 are harvested. Dark 5 was harvested on September 5th. Wet weight gave us about 268g, we'll see what it ends up being. After drying, we'll draw conclusions. But we can definitely share our thoughts on the whole process: We planted 6 seeds, of which we ended up with 4 (one died from heat and another from a cat..). The reason for choosing Dark Devil was to add color to the garden; from the beginning, we knew it wasn't a very productive strain but rather colorful, and honestly, they exceeded our expectations. Out of the 4, 3 turned purple and one stayed green. #1: didn’t produce much, the least of all, but it has a very nice smell and a light purple color, it’s been quite curious, to be honest. #2 died from the cat. #3 started to darken a bit at first and didn’t stand out much, but in the last few weeks, it suddenly turned purple to the point that we were blown away and very happy with it. #4 is beyond words.. it's CHAMPIONSHIP material!! Incredible, everyone who has seen it has been amazed. It was a real pleasure to watch it grow, and just for it, it was worth trying the strain. Only good things to say, the only bad thing I can mention is that we felt sad to cut it down because it was so beautiful... #5 another one that blew us away. This one, instead of being on the balcony, was normal until pre-flowering started. It grew and grew up to 1.20m, we didn’t expect it to stretch so much because the others were around 60 cm and this one doubled that. Up to 7 cm in one day. Just before cutting, it started to take on a red shine. September 11th, harvest of #5 ends: 19.4g dry from 120g wet. September 18th, #1 harvested: 5.1 grams.? September 20th, #2 and #4 harvested. #2: 11.4 grams #4: 10.5 grams In conclusion: It has a pretty strong flavor, the first hit fills your mouth with its taste, which is a bit spicy with a fruity touch and something else that I can’t quite describe. The yield hasn’t been good in terms of quantity, but the aesthetics and flavor are very good. Congratulations to the Sweet Seeds team.

I'm sure the transplant to a larger pot is going to like it 😋 You'll see how in a week it will be very beautiful. Sweet smokes, -Apolo

What happened with the 'DARK 1 and 6'? Be careful, you might miss the cut-off date and have the flowers 'overripe'. Sweet smokes, -Apolo

@Sweet_Seeds, well, the dark 1 got eaten by the cat and the 6 was killed by the heat when it was small, things that happen. They won't have much left to harvest.

Hey buddy 😋 It looks like the leaves are curling down a bit, right? Be careful with the feeding, because too much can cause these kinds of symptoms (Claw-shaped leaves) Sweet smokes, -Apolo

@Sweet_Seeds, I've noticed it but I wasn't sure if it was due to overwatering or nutrients, what do you think? Should I wait for it to dry out well and then just water for the next watering? Thanks
Sweet_Seeds
Sweet_Seeds commented7y ago
@MELs_Garden, claw-shaped leaves are one of the signs of nutrient excess. Try watering with just water next time. Also, remember to follow or refer to the manufacturer's instructions for fertilizers. Sweet smokes, -Apollo
