Hi everyone! Here you can follow my Cheese XXL Auto growing progresses. It's gonna stay on the balcony until harvest so I want to do some LST to keep it low and hidden from the public street in front of my house. Planted 4/29 Germination in coco jiffy under LED (18/6) *(I lost all the first pictures due to some probem with my camera, sorry about that)*

Day 10 from germination It looks healty and it's growing fast, so I transplanted to an 11 Litres plastic flower pot. I will avoid topping and going for some LST later on. No fertilizer yet.

Day 17 from germination The plant is growing really well, I think the leaves colour and shape are just fine considering that it is going only with water. Moved to the balcony since the temperature is higher. I started with some light LST on the two biggest leaves. Maybe it's not so visible on the pictures, but the plant is bent slightly on the right, so to expose more the new small growing points. If there's out there anyone with suggestions about it, please let me know, I'm wondering if I should have bent directly and more "agressively" the stem instead of the leaves.

Day 20 I had to move it back inside, the temperature outside it's not ideal during the night. I hope it's not gonna get stressed by this moving. Slightly bent it to the right changing the twisty tie from one leaf to the main stem. It's growing fast enough in my opinion :) Day 24 Finally moved it outside TO STAY (the weather looks stable). I bent more to the side with a thicker tie and added a couple of them more to give some stability. The lower growing tips are showing the benefits from using this technique.

REPORT Day 28 I don't know if I was expecting it to be bigger than this being almost at one month, but considering that I started just now with giving a tiny amount of fertilizer and the weather was late in showing some mercy, I am pretty satisfied so far. The leaves look ok except a little burn end point and the growing tips are coming up nicely. Day 32 At this point the lady is growing some more vegetation. The leaves are getting bigger and the lower branches are also fighting to get vertically access to the sunshine, so I had to find ways to make it happen. Day 33 Just put some pictures to enhance the difference between the last week and this one. It has been raining during the last couple of days but it doesn't seem to influence it negatively. Day 35 Unfortunately, the unexpected happened. During a night storm, the strong wind almost totally cut off the main growing tip of my poor lady Cheese 😥I found it swingin but it was too damaged to be fixed so I had to cut it off (pic Day35.a). THE PROBLEM - WHY DID IT HAPPEN? However, I realized that I made a mistake tighting too much a bend on the side; the stem in that point was already too thick, so I believe I should have kept it down softly with a thicker twist tie AND JUST THEN apply a little pressure down from the end of the branch (which is softer obviously) and tying it to the border of the flower pot. In the way I did it, instead, the twisty tie gradually cutted some of the branch and the wind did the rest (at least I think that is how it happened). SOLUTION I overcame the sadness and worked on some bending and tying of the branches, which eventually turned out to be a good thing because the plant didn't suffer or at least didn't show any bad sign and I was able to redistribute every growing tip in a better way (Day 35b.-c.-d)

Day 38 No signs of stress from the broken stem, still growing and she looks healthy. I can see the first white pistils of flowering!! Stopped with fertilizing the Grow formula, I will leave some days with water at ph 6.5 to switch later to the Bloom. Day 41 The white pistels are getting visibly bigger. Not fertilizing yet, I'm gonna start in the weekend with the smallest amount. Check the detail of the buds-to-be in the pics Day 41.f-g-h. I had some fun with LST the branches to make them as equally flat as possible in order to take better care of the buds later on. Day 42 Just a small update, I love to see her growing so I had to post a couple of pics more 😁

I didn't see any bad signs from nutrients so far, so I've added 0.2 mL of Bloom and 0.1 mL of CalMag (still one sixth of the recommended one) to increase it again gradually, according to how fast the buds will develop. I took a sh*tload of pictures in the week before to leave, so you can see how the plant grew and then compare it with the next week update, where there will be pics of this lady as I found her once back home. During this week I redistributed the ties to create a flatter and more even canopy and I rotated the plant 180° so to move the taller buds to the back and to help developing the shorter ones. Also, I received the visit of this green traveler, to whom I kindly suggested TO LEAVE since it looked really like an adult aphid to me - comparing to pics online. Should any of you guys know it and has got a remedy or just advices, tips or experiences, please let me know Happy growing 🙏

DAY 50-56 This lady is growing well and she looks healthy and beautiful (at least to me 😄) I tried to use every possible space oh her spot on my small balcony to help her and I can say that I like the shape she's got. Before to leave to my holiday I was worried af because of the delicate stage of her; the buds are fattening up, they need their nutrients and I'm not gonna take care of her for many days, so I decided to prepare the solution water/nuts in advance, even though I read that I shouldn't do it, hoping that the caretaker will use it wisely :) She's never shown any sign of intollerance to these nuts, so I increased Bloom and CalMag and started to give some PK 13-14. I would like to know from you guys which other nutrients are you giving to your plants at this level of flowering; I read some adds sugars to enhance taste and smell. Thanks a lot for reading and to anyone who will comment 🙏 Happy growing!!

DAY 57 - 63 When I left for the holiday, this was the plant I was the most worried about. The budlets had started to form and they'd need nutrients and water that I couldn't provide them with!! Introducing an important character: GRANDMA! Our lovely Grandmother was kind enough to help with watering the plants in the garden/balcony 😄 Going against what I read online, I prepared 11 litres of water and nutrients, calculated to be enough for the period I was going to be away. I cannot know for sure how much of it was actually given to the plant, but I was very pleased to see her in good shape once back 🙂 The budlets are fattening up, I can see the actual bud shape on many branches which is amazing (Yeah, I'm easy to impress but you know, it's my first grow.. 😁) The leaves are ok except for a tiny little burning spot on the ends of some of them, although I don't think it can be considered nutrients burn..or is it? 😮 Please let me know if you notice something I didn't. Thanks for reading and as usual every comment/tip/advice/shared experience is more than welcome 😉 Until the next update guys! Have a nice one 🙏

DAY 64-70 What's up fellow growers? Hope you and your plants are doing fine 😊 Here on the balcony things are getting interesting; the buds have changed in shape and aspect and I reached the point where I cannot say if they are going to grow further or if the harvest day it's just around the corner. During this week I kept increasing the amount of nutrients for flowering as shown in the technical details, even though I think it's gonna be the last time since the harvest is so close. I'm studying a lot about that, I am waiting for a magnifier to check the trichomes and I'm ready to cut it out at the first sign of being ready to it..but so far I couldn't really say for sure. As usual I'm looking forward to hear from you guys, PLEASE let me know what you see out of these buds, if you have any experience or if you notice something, anything would be super helpful 🙏 Thanks a lot for reading and enjoy your growing 😉

DAY 71-77 I need to face a moment of truth with this lady. I took care of her as much as I could, I cuddled her and covered her of attentions and she praised me with some pretty nice flowers, but now it's time to put into practice everything I've been studying so far. It has been cool to check signs of growing and reactions to nutrients and techniques (LST) I used during this grow, so all the tips and tutorials I've been reading about were definitely a great help. Now, the time has come for me to face the thoughest (but happiest ) phases of the grow: HARVEST/TRIMMING/DRYING/CURING. First of all, the issue I'm facing now is to decide WHEN to harvest. I read a great deal about it, so I ended up ordering a magnifier to check the trichomes (I will post it in the next update). Otherwise, according to the plant's look, I would say that it's pretty much ready to be harvested, even though the leaves have not yellowed and I cannot see well how the trichomes look like, I'm afraid to wait too much until they will darken. I also read about flushing and all the debate about it, whether it's necessary or not, deciding to give it a try just for one week. More details and description of this phase (with more pics ofc) in the next update, so stay tuned 💪😎 PLEASE guys tell me what you think!! I couldn't compare any pics I found online with my buds, so I'm just following instinct. Share your experience, write what you see wrong, any opinion or comment will be greatly appreciated 🙏 Enjoy your growing and have a great one ✊

DAY 78-84 I received the magnifier 👍 So I was able to check the trichomes. According to what I've been reading and to all the pics I watched, their look it's just another sign of how it is time to harvest. After studying and reading about it and the steps to take in order to do so, I've also been held up by some multiple diverging opinions about flushing. I finally decided to give it a shot. I gave PHed watered (6.5) for 7 days and moved the plant to the green house mainly because of the higher temperature and the smell, which was getting unbelievably strong to keep it on the balcony. Day 84 I moved the plant to the garage and kept it in the darkness. 💤 She will be this way for the next 3 days before to finally cut it down 😁 Thank you so much for reading guys and as usual I would love to hear from you, especially in this delicate stage of the grow it would be great to have other opinions on how the plant looks like 😉 Please check the pics and tell me what you think 🙏 Have a nice one and enjoy your growing 😎

@Fredsai, your 11L pot is jist a little to small but it will work. If you transplant an autoflower you’re stressing the plant to much and growth will stop for a couple days to up to a week. If you would have 5L pots I would transplant but now it will do more bad than good. You are already stressing your plant with the broken stem, ALWAYS take some ducktape and try to fix it weedplants are the best self healers.. and never use sharp or thin things to bend her down😉 Only rain here.. normally it will get a bit better on friday. My NL drinks 2.5 L every other day, big plants are thirsty :) Good luck!

@CoastGrower, you called it man 😁 it's still growing bigger every day!! Actually I just noticed that the need of water increased drastically in the last couple of days and I had some thoughts about transplanting, I think she would fit much better in a bigger container, even though I'm afraid that it could have more Cons than Pros (I have an 11L plastic flower pot), what do u think?

@CoastGrower, we are still waiting for it!! 😂 I feel it's like an urban legend, oeple keep coming saying that "a storm is coming" but at the end nothing except for some light rain has showned in the last while! Hope the weather is kind with your plants ✊

@DinafemSeeds, Thank you mate, I'm so looking forward to taste it, it's the very first time I'm taking care of a plant (and an autoflowering) on my own, so I feel it really like a personal challenge :) I'm writing right now, please have a look at the next two updates, I would greatly appreciate if you could advise on the current state of these buds 🙏 Have a great one and cheers!! @DILLIGAF, thank you so much man, I looked for it on google and you're right, it looks definitely like a grasshopper/cricket :) Especially thanks for the tip on diatomaceous earth (I was like: 😮 diawhat?), I will study a little how to use it and certainly I'll try it!! Is it recommended for growing only or it could be used also at some point in flowering? Cheers and enjoying your growing 🙏
