LevureDeBiere_ams Hey everyone,
I had a bit of a rough start that resulted in a long and stressful beginning. I had some old seeds from Barneys and Dutch Passion that didn’t yield anything (8 dead seeds). I tossed a CBD seed from Dinafem that was the same age, and out of 3 germinated seeds, only one seems to be taking but is lazier than the feminized GSC from Barneys. So, we’re starting with 3 Girl Scout Cookies seeds put into germination, in soil on the morning of July 17. 2 have taken off. 1 is dead. I used the glass of water method (dechlorinated) to germinate my seeds in the dark. After 6 days and barely 1mm of growth, I decided to put the seeds in soil, so I wouldn’t leave them in the water any longer.
I’m maintaining a temperature of 25 degrees Celsius and covering them with pierced water bottles to create a mini greenhouse and manage humidity for germination more easily. For light, I’m using 18/6 at 300 ppfd measured with the sensor provided by Mars Hydro in their sensor pack. I mist them every morning with dechlorinated water at a controlled pH.
On Friday, I’ll repot them into an intermediate pot and then start the first week of growth. I plan to give them power roots and terra grow from Plagron.
I’m considering practicing LST and Topping with 28 days of growth before switching to flowering.
I hope my diary can help new growers who have a lot of questions. It’s a complex universe and information is hard to find.
I’m ready to exchange and get your advice in the comments.
Have a great day everyone!

LevureDeBiere_ams Hi Growers!
Yesterday, Friday, July 24th, I transplanted the girls into 11L plastic pots. I gave them a light watering of 200 mL each, as I wanted them to have a quiet night to recover from the transplant stress.
During the transplant, the smaller of the two plants seemed quite fragile at the base of its stem. I added a little more substrate around the base and gently firmed it down.
Today, I pointed a fan at the plants to help strengthen their stems a bit. She already seems a little sturdier.
Yesterday, right after the transplant, I kept the plants under perforated plastic bottles because I hadn't yet received my 6L Mars Hydro humidifier, which finally arrived today. I'm having trouble reaching the target VPD of 0.53 kPa at 27°C. That would require around 85% relative humidity, which I just can't achieve (and honestly, I think that's too high anyway). As soon as the temperature reaches 28°C, the exhaust fan kicks in and causes the humidity to drop significantly. At the moment, my VPD is sitting at 0.85 kPa. I plan to reduce the relative humidity by 5% each week during the vegetative stage.
Today, I decided to start feeding them as outlined above: Power Roots at 1 mL/L and Terra Grow at 2.5 mL/L. Each plant received 300 mL of nutrient solution at EC 1.8.
According to my Mars Hydro soil sensor, the substrate EC is currently 0.5.
The girls are looking healthy and are growing a little more every day.
My plan is to keep feeding them with the same nutrients throughout the entire vegetative stage, increasing Terra Grow to 5 mL/L at the end of the second week.
As of today (Friday, July 24th), I'm officially considering this Day 1 of the fertilized vegetative stage. I plan to veg for 4 to 5 full weeks before switching them to flowering.
When would you recommend starting LST, and at what point should I perform the topping? What is your advice about VPD?
Happy to share this journey with you all.

LevureDeBiere_ams Hey Growers,
This week has been absolutely incredible.
I've included photos with the exact dates they were taken so you can clearly see their progress.
Everything is going really well. They're growing amazingly fast. On the 31st, I was still half asleep and accidentally doubled the nutrient dosage. I had planned to give them only 400 mL of water, but for some reason I mixed nutrients for 800 mL instead. To avoid burning them, I immediately added another 400 mL of plain water to each pot. They handled it like absolute queens!
I'm really starting to notice how much stronger and bigger they're getting every single day. It's honestly a joy to watch.
This week, I'm planning to transplant them into their final 19L fabric pots and begin LST. I'll also top them once they've developed two more nodes. They're going to turn into incredible trees.
No particular issues this week. I can't wait to see what comes next.
I'm also planning to try cloning the main tops to see if I can grow two little lollipops. It costs nothing to give it a shot! I bought some cloning gel to give them the best possible start.
I'm also going to try running one seed as a "no-veg" grow. I've seen this method all over YouTube, and from what I've read, the yield difference isn't that significant. Once again, I'm experimenting! Maybe I'll fail, but sometimes you have to go out and find the knowledge you're looking for. One thing is certain: if I never try anything, I'll never learn anything.
And that's really the whole purpose of this grow box: to keep learning more and more about this incredible plant. An entire world of knowledge is opening up to me, and I can genuinely see the impact of my work every single day. It's incredibly rewarding.
Thank you all for taking the time to read my journal. I hope you're as excited as I am about this fantastic week.
Have a great week, everyone... Let's Grow! 🌱

LevureDeBiere_ams Hi Growers!
This week has been full of questions.
It started off in a very satisfying way, with the girls handling the amount of water and nutrients I had given them really well. They looked beautiful!
Then, I decided to transplant them into fabric pots, which, from what I’ve understood from my reading, are much more breathable. I went with 30-liter pots.
At that point, I decided to defoliate the largest lower fan leaves. By mistake, I cut off one of the branches on the plant on the right. Since I didn’t want to stress her too much, I stopped there.
Yesterday, I topped both plants, and since they had handled their first defoliation well, I started LST and removed all the huge leaves that were creating too much shade. Overall, I’m pretty happy with how things are turning out.
I kept the same nutrient dosage with a 3L watering.
(I also put three more seeds into germination: White Widow, Pink Runtz, and OG Kush. It seems like the Pink Runtz doesn’t really want to get going. Everything comes from RQS, so I’m going to send them an email.
Just like with the Girl Scout Cookies, the WW stayed in water for two days and produced about 1 mm of taproot, then nothing else happened. So I decided to do the same thing I did with the GSC: plant them directly into the soil, further away from the light than the others, and pray.
I wanted to try this to see the difference in development when topping much earlier, with only two weeks of vegetative growth.
We experiment and we learn. As always.)
Thanks for reading!
All the photos are arranged in the correct chronological order, showing the plants’ progress from left to right!
Ciao, Growers!
About lst and topping i would say wait 7 to 10 days if you want faster lower light intensity and keep them on 24 hours a day check my diary to see how my plants grow under 24 hours light.
@Growfather1,
Hi Buddy!
My babys grow weel! I plan to change the pot in 2/3 days to give them 29L fabric pots instead of 11L plastic pots. I just gave them 800ml of water and nutrients today. I plan to start LST and toping 4 days after changing pots. Take a look at my new entry in my diaries if you want!
Lets grow!
