For being your first grow in DWC, it's coming along really great!
As for defoliation, here's a practical tip: look at the plant from above and remove all the fan leaves that are shading the lower parts. Also, take off any leaves that are growing towards the center of the plant, because that's where good air circulation is needed.
Once you've made your way from the top down, it will be much easier to spot the lower branches or shoots that won't have any chance of developing nice buds or getting light: you can safely remove those too.
But the most important thing is not to be afraid: be brave and use this experience to learn from any mistakes for the next cycle!
