Watermelon Emoji & Pamellowz

GeezandDraht Week 1 🌿 After just 24h all 4 seeds had popped out of the ground and had lost their seed vessle, perfect. We changed the light schedule to 18/6 and kept the dome on for another day, after that we removed it step by step. First day: dome tilted, second day: removed for 30 minutes, third day: removed 3x30 minuntes, fourth day: dome off. On day 5 we watered for the first time with 50ml of plain water for each seedling. And it already gets exciting: it looks like we got a mutant again! Pamellowz #2 seems to grow two plants out of her seed, she has a tiny twin!🤓 we already saw that she seemingly had two taproots after germination, looks like each of them wants to become it's own plant. Have you ever seen that in one of your grows?🤔 For now we will keep her like this and see how she will develope. We might need to plug the little one later on. See you next week for updates!💚

GeezandDraht Week 2 🌿 The second week has gone by and the plants are looking good. They are now coming out of that sensitive first two-week phase. Pamellowz #2 is showing a weird mutation. It seems like she does not develope a second pair of leafs, but is instead growing a tiny antenna. A few days later we could see some new growth, looking like maybe two pairs of leafs? We decided to pop another seed but keep her for reasons of curiousity.🤔 They got watered with 50ml on day 8 and 100ml on day 10 of plain water (ph 6.3). On day 14 they got their first feeding, using 50% of the Athena Week 1 schedule, with 320ml per plant. Ph 6.3, EC 1.6mS (PPFD: 300, VPD: 0.8) See you next week! 💚

GeezandDraht Week 3 🌿 Hey Guys! Week 3 has gone by and here are the updates: The ladies are developing well, even our mutant is doing fine and decided to grow on like a normal plant, just with two heads. The plants are looking healthy, especially Pamellowz. Watermelon Emoji seem to be a little more finicky, showing a lighter green and some rolled up edges, propably due to VPD swings and warm temperatures with up to 30°C on some days. Pamellowz are on the left and Watermelon Emoji on the right. We fed them on Day 18 with 310ml each, using 75% of the recommended dosage, pH: 6.3, EC: 2.06mS. On Day 19 we transplanted the plants into their final 19 liter fabric pots using a 50/50 mixture of Biobizz light mix and coco mix with some White Shark Mycorrhizae mixed in and sprinkled some directly onto the roots. Then watered them in with 300ml each (again with 75%). The mutated Pamellowz only got half a pot, because we didn't have enough soil for 5 plants, as we planed for 4. Also we plugged in our second LED. Lightdistance: 53cm, PPFD: 430, VPD: 0.9 Next up: Topping 😁 See you next week💚

GeezandDraht Week 4🌿 Welcome to week 4! This week we got some work done😁. On Day 22 we fed the plants with 4.5 liters each, using 75% of the recommended dosage by Athena, pH: 6.2, EC: 1.96mS. Run off: pH: 6.3, EC: 3.02mS. We still have some VPD swings due to high outdoor temperatures but it will get better by the end of the week. On Day 23 we topped the ladies. Watermelon Emoji got topped above the 5th node and Pamellowz #1 above the 6th. The first node got removed on all four. Pamellowz #2 (the mutated one) didn't get topped, as she already has done that herself early on. We decided to leave one more node on Pamellowz, because the Emojis seem to be the more stretchy plants with bigger internodal spacing. To reduce hight differences later on we left one more node on Pamellowz. Also we increased the PPFD to about 470. VPD still 0.8, because of the younger Pamellowz #3. Day 28 was training-day. We did some LST on the four bigger plants using tent pegs. This will increase lightpenetration throughout the plant and help to spread out the growth by rearranging the shoots around the pots. This is especially necessary as we won't be able to put in a trellis net, as we need to move the plants in and out of the tent for watering and working on them. During that process we decided to top Pamellowz #2 as well, as she was putting all her energy into her two main-stems and didn't push her lower shoots up properly. Pamellowz #3 got transplanted into her 19 liter pot with some Mycorrhizae sprinkled directly onto the roots and watered in with 4.5 liters of 75% nutrientsolution. At last we increased the PPFD to 570 and the VPD to 0.9. We can say by now that Pamellowz are the bushier plants with less internodal spacing. They look very pretty, symetrical and also seem to be the more resistant plants, showing no deficiencies and a healthy green color. Watermelon Emoji seem to be a little more sensitive to VPD swings or higher temperatures. Inbetween the two of them Watermelon Emoji #1 is the stronger plant by far. She pretty much exploded in growth since she got transplanted, has the thickest branches and biggest leafs in the tent, growing very vigorously. Watermelon Emoji #2 on the other hand has the thinnest leafs and branches, as well as the lightest green in the tent. She has shown the most deficiencies and is also the only one without roots at the bottom of her pot by now. Both of them have bigger internodal spaces compared to Pamellowz and are likely to grow taller. Luckily we got two LEDs and can adjust their height separately. That's it for this week! GeezandDraht Week 5 (+2 Days) 🌿 Welcome to what will be the second to last week of veg for this run! The plants are looking healthy and strong, filling the tent more and more, day by day. We want to veg them for another week to give Pamellowz #3 a bit more time to catch up, as she is 12 days behind the rest. On Day 30 we watered with 5 liters each using 75% of the recommended dosage by Athena, pH: 6.2, EC: 2.08mS. Run-off: pH: 6.6, EC: 2.96mS. We also topped Pamellowz #3 above the 5th node and got rid of the first. On the other four we did another round of LST. For this purpose we poked eight holes around the top of the pots and tied the branches down symmetrically by using kitchen-twine. On Day 34 it was feeding time again! 5 liters each with 75% nutrient dosage. Run-off: pH: 6.6, EC: 2.71mS. We cut off some bottom leaves that where touching the ground and filled the pots up with some more soil to counter the volume shrinkage caused by the substrate compaction through watering. On Day 37 we did some LST on Pamellowz #3 (her Day 25) to open up her canopy. Next week it's time for Lollipopping! 😁🍭

GeezandDraht Week 6 🌿 Hello and welcome to our last week of Veg! This week we prepared the ladies for flower and finally defoliated them. The plants are looking healthy, green and vigorous, showing barely any signs of deficiencies or burnt tips💚 On Day 39 we watered the ladies with 5-6 liters each, aiming for about 10% run off as always. We used 75% of the recomended dosage by Athena, pH: 6.2, EC: 2.0mS. Run-off: pH: 6.8, EC: 2.53mS. The pH in the run-off is way to high and slowly rising. We don't know why, as we did not have this problem in our last grow, where we used the same nutrients, dosage and soilmixture. We will lower the input pH to 6.0 by the next feeding. Plants are looking healthy though! 😊 On Day 42 we Lollipoped and Defoliated the plants. As always it was a lot of fun to do so! We got rid of everything growing in the lower third and every branch that did not grow up to at least half the plants hight. Afterwards we defoliated bigger fan leaves covering future budsights to ensure better light penetration and airflow throughout the plants. Lastly we plugged in our new AC Infinity soil sensor to the AI Controller to get a better hold on when to water the plants exactly. On Day 43 the ladies where ready for another feeding. We decided to use the bloom nutrients, as we will flip to flower the very next day, as per usual 75% of the recommended dosage, pH: 6.0, EC: 2.2mS. Run-off: pH: 6.8 (still :/), EC: 2.3mS. On Day 44 (32 for Pamellowz #3) we flipped to flower. PPFD: 650-800, Lightdistance: 46cm, VPD: 1.1. We are hoping for a not too excessive stretch as the ladies are allready 50cm high. Doubling in hight would be fine, but not much more. Wish us luck!😅

GeezandDraht Week 1 🌸 Welcome to week 1 of flower! The ladies are looking good and the first week of stretch wasn't too heavy, except for Pamellowz #3, the youngest plant. She grew 19cm this past week, whereas the rest of them grew about 12cm each. Watermelon Emoji #1 is showing more and more fasciation towards the top of the plant, which we are not very happy about. On Day 4 of flower we watered the plants with 75% of the Athena dosage for week 1/bloom. We also added some epsom salt to optimize the Calcium/Magnesium ratio in our tapwater. PH in: 6.0, EC: 2.21mS. We lowered the drain to 1-7%, as recommended in our handbook. The readings where: pH: 6.9, EC: 2.73mS. On Day 7 we watered again using the same dosage. Drain pH was up to 7.0 now... don't know why... might be our tapwater that is seemingly very hard or chalky right now. Also we have no idea what to do about it 😟 We are watering when the soil sensor is registering about 17% humidity, that is when the pot feels light and the top soil feels dry to the touch. Also the plants show their thirstiness by hanging leaves starting at about 16%. Stemrubs: Pamellowz smell fruity, sweet and sour, exotic and very promising! Watermelon Emoji smell minty, mentholy, sweet, like a cough drop. Not quite as excepted for now.

GeezandDraht Week 2 🌸 This week we saldly lost a plant, due to being male...😵 On Day 8 we watered with 75% of the recommended dosage by Athena, as per usual, plus some epsom salt. PH: 6.0, EC: 2.25mS. Drain (5%): pH: 7.1, EC: 2.53mS. On Day 11 the ladies where thirsty again and got the same feeding. Upon further inspection, we noticed that nearly all plants started to develope flowers and calyxes with a white hair coming out of them... all but one. Pamellowz #3, the youngest but tallest plant (by far now) developed pollen sacks instead. It looks to be a male plant, although the seeds are feminized. We later learned that feminized seeds are 99% female, so it looks like we drew that 1% out of our seedpack. We chopped him down and put the other 4 back in the tent. Oh and on Pamellowz #1 we found a single suspicious growth with bananas inside 😟. This has to be a stress reaction to the light changing to 12/12 a couple of weeks ago, as she looks super healthy otherwise. We want to do a slower, less stressfull flip next time around! If you have any tips or experience with that, please let us know in the comments.💚 On Day 14 we watered again with the same dosage. Drain pH is now up to 7.2. The ladies are looking healthy though. Just on Watermelon Emoji #2 we can see some nutrient deficiencies, propably due to nutrient-lockout. We water with tap-water and don't have a RO-System yet. The pH issues are likely caused by hard/chalky water. We plugged one more nana on Pamellowz #1 today. Stretch wise the ladies grew about 20cm this week and seem pretty manageable, thats the good news😅 See you next week!💚
