Very easy strain to grow and clone. This girl does all the work for you and turns into a nice thick bush. She didn't stretch much so I'll be vegging her for longer in future and also clean her up more. Loving the lemon terps on this girl too.
Never had any issues using Growth Technology Liquid Slilicon and Ionic Cal-Mag Pro. The plants are perfectly bendable in veg due to the silicon and the Cal-Mag is doing it's job. Running in coco, Cal-Mag is of more importance and I've never had many issues using this. If any occur it has been quickly fixed with this and some Epsom Salts.
Been using the GHE base nutrient line for a while. It works for me and I like the fact that this line is a 3 part, meaning I can feed at the ratios I wish to feed throughout a cycle and can control what is being fed exactly.
This was my first run with Ripen. I do think it made a difference in harvest, but at the moment I'm not sure if it has affected the taste as they haven't been curing long enough and it's also my first time running all of these strains. I'll be doing side by sides in future to test properly. I've seen many people say it speeds up the ripening stage and can be used throughout flush but because it has a PK value, I used it the same as any other PK booster and stopped feeding to give a full flush at the same time as my other nutrients. Everything was super frosty and perfectly healthy so I can only put it down to what was being put in!
Don't smell this stuff, it's nasty.. With that being said I do think this improved my garden and the overall health and wellness of the plants. As this cycle was my first time running all of these strains, I can't exactly give a definite, honest opinion on whether it has increased yeild or not or how much exactly. I've definitely noticed an increase in trichomes but whether that is down to the genetics and an all-around healthy cycle, or that plus the Mammoth P beneficials doing their part I cant say. My only conclusion is that I'm very happy with how this run went; the health, frost and ease of this cycle so I can only put that down to everything that being put in.
MasterKush is a very easy plant to keep happy. Transplanting, topping and taking cuts is of no issue with this girl; nothing will stress her! This girl grew into a beautiful thick bush without me having to do much at all, so I'd highly recommend this strain to a beginner/first time grower as she needs very little maintenance. I have a clone of this girl going into flower within the next few days so now I know how she grows, I'll be giving her a better clean up so she can concentrate more on her main cola's instead of the less dense nugs within the thick of her. I've also let the clone grow a bit taller to compensate for her little stretch.
Overall I'm happy with this girl and I'll be running her a few more times. She has a strong lemony smell, which carries over in her taste, but the lemon isn't quite as strong in taste as the smell. It also has a slight earthyness to it. It's a very nice, smooth smoke. Something I could enjoy all day as it relaxes you but doesn't sit you down.
I've enjoyed doing this diary, and all my others, on grow diaries and will continue to start more. If even one person has learned one thing from my presence on here, then that makes it all worth it in my opinion! From where I stand that's all we can do for each other our community.
Because I've created 4 seperate diaries with 4 different strains, I've had to calculate these by dividing the conditions by 4 (4 plants in total but only one of each strain). This is the fairest and only way to work it out properly.
Thanks for following and happy growing! πΊ
@Tistou, sounds like my new daytime smoke! Haha. Wow I must have been lucky to have tried her! She's definitely a beauty π I'm really surprised by how strong she smells of lemon but hoping she holds onto it after dry and curing πΊ
@TheFoxFarmer,
Yeah, it is really crazy stuff. Indica but effects with a totally clear mind. I have found it only three times in the Netherlands. Haha, the pic this year has been great. The structure of the cup winner. Elegant. π
@Tistou, really? The first and only time I've tried MasterKush was all the way back to the first time I visited Amsterdam! I remember being impressed, and after seeing her recent cup wins I had to give her a go! ππΊ
@That_Potent_Puff, sure. It prevents the seedlings from drying and shriviling up, basically acting as as tiny humidity dome. I also feel it's not necessary to feed nutrients of any kind right away as it could easily burn and kill them. My tap water has a ppm of between 150-190 so it'll have everything a little seedling needs for its first 10 days or so :) it's cotyledon leaves should have enough stored nutrients during this time too :)
@biggreens420, nah it's nice. Not exactly like lemon dish soap but basically like artificial lemon or a lemon peel π looking forward to trying her! πΊ
Thanks @biggreens420, yeah, neither did I! Lol. She smells like lemon dish soap or a lemon peel. I expected a bit of a citrusy tone but not quite this much! Haha
@biggreens420, I've only smoked her in Dam, and that was a few years ago now. I think it was the first time I went. But i can remember it being a nice smoke so had to try grow her myself πΊ
Thanks @biggreens420, her side branching and internode spacing is crazy. One of the tops from her first set of true leaves actually reached the top of the canopy lol. It was her recent cup wins that made me go for her ππΊ
Some solid looking colas :)
I saw your comment about transplanting from smart pots and cloth pots.. I've come to the same thought, they are for final transplant only.
Thanks @Fun_Growin βοΈ definitely mate, I've now been using plastic pots until their final smart pot. I feel their pain when it rips their healthy roots off! Lol πΊ
