The Auto Cheese CBD are growing quickly. They will outgrow the pots I have them in fairly soon. Planning to put them in 3 gallon black plastic pots but will see what I can find for free.

Opinions needed! I am having trouble determining when the trichomes are clear vs cloudy. Could someone take a look at the closeups of the buds and offer their opinion? Am I delusional thinking I will notice a difference between a harvest today vs 2-3 weeks from now?

This was a big struggle for me on my first harvest as I didn't want my GC to go Amber. But like the others said to really be able to tell you need a USB microscope or a jewlers loupe. The loupe in my opinion is definitely easier to use. Trust look through the loop and you will go oh wow. And 2-3 weeks can make all the difference. As they go full cloudy the buds will also go through the "swell" and your yield will definitely be higher and THC more potent. Clear/cloudy triches will get you high but your highest THC content is going to be full cloudy with some Amber tint. To much Amber will give you a more couch lock affect. I have a picture on my phone that has a really good example of each I'll try and post it. Just really hard to tell in that pic. Get you a loupe and take a pic through it. You'll get a much better idea of what your looking at. Go look at my Green Crack journal. It has some loupe pics of trichomes in it.

It's hard to say u need a 60x jewels loope. And if ur not familiar with trichomes u need to monitor for early flowering till late. So u know how they change and start clear. But guessing u still have a few weeks to go. Good luck 👍

If your going to grow weed buy a 40x led lighted jewelers loupe off amazon they work perfectly. You can also try looking in a coin shop they may have something similar. Don't wast your money on those little microscopes they're garbage. You can use your cell phone then blow the photo up but you won't get the true coloration of the trichomes. Take your buds with 5% to 30 % amber with mostly cloudy/milky trichomes. Hope this helps. 👍

Hey. How’s the grow? We just harvested round 2. Went pretty well. It was week 13 (almost week 14.) I didn’t see many amber Trichomes but the plant looked done. Leaves yellowing etc. I found some rot on our round 3 plant. It’s still two weeks to go. All this rain we’ve had, it was 80% humidity for a week. I bought a dehumidifier and it dropped down at 47%. Pulling out two liters of water a day! How’s your final harvest? Cut them all down yet? Also, you mentioned a high Cbd/thc strain. I’ve got my eyes on CBDoc. Check it out. Supposed to be 1:1 20%.

@SosdogAndMissMuffet, Well, I lost most of the crop. The humidity did it to me. I was growing in an unheated greenhouse and went away for a few days. When I got back all of the Cheese was rotting. Lost all of the main kolas, saved a few secondarys from the side branches. Sigh. Not to worry though, I learned a lot and have no shortage of flower to play with this winter. Early Miss was taken off shortly after and I got a nice yield there too. CBDoc sounds perfect I will definitely check it out. Hopefully Crop King has them.

Looking good bro! Hard to keep it just down to 4 plants eh?! We’re on van island now. 2 weeks of pink fishing on the east coast! Tight lines.

@SosdogAndMissMuffet, It definitely is tough to keep it under 4. If you get tired of the Pinks, try the big Northern Coho Conuma river estuary on Nootka inlet. There's a pretty nice fishing/camping/hotel resort there too.

Exciting. Take a look at our first diary - Georgia Cheese. We transplanted ours around 2nd or 3 week. Put 3 plants into 3 gallon cloth pots. by this time, the plants had already bottomed out in the small pots they were in. After a few weeks I moved one of the 3 into a 5 gallon plastic pot. After a week or so of flowering, the other one of our 3 auto cheese hadnt started to flower. I put it into a huge 11 gallon pot as it was growing like mad. As you can see from our pics all three plants are very different shape today. All very similar to their pot size. I think the tall one is a bit of a rogue plant, expressing a different phenotype. Still not sure which one will produce the buds. Im guessing that the 5 gallon pot might be best. When i moved from the 3 to the 5 in around week 4, the roots had reached the bottom of the 3 gallon but were still around 3 inches away from the sides. Good luck! Hope you found some Summer Steel!

@SosdogAndMissMuffet, No steel. Lots of driving and laughing with my dad though so a good day in all. Interesting about the plant size. I'm sticking with 3 gal fabric for the current crop. I like to be able to move them to the sun and possibly a higher density of plants per square foot (tbd).

Can you please share your experience about back country blend bloom in greater detail?

Major bummer! I also lost a big chunk of my CBD AutoCheese to budrot....I guess the strain is just super thick and liable to trap moisture....anyway hope you enjoy what you managed to salvage! I love the smoke of this stuff....

Google harvest guide for trichomes. Type it in just like that and it's the first or one of the first pictures that pops up. It's a good referall guide for watching triches. Has two sides the very top 2 pics have a red x on them. Hope that helps.

Hi @Sinktip! You should wait a little more, at least 5-7 days. Honestly no one can tell better than you (with the help of a magnifier/microscope)! Pistils can be a clue, if you noticed that new pistils have stopped appearing and old pistils have almost all turned red and curly, but the best way to ensure it's the right time is to look at the trichomes with a magnifier/microscope. Clear/Transparent/Skinny trichomes mean it's too soon, Milky/Cloudy/Fat trichomes mean the harvest window is open if you want to maximize THC, Amber trichomes mean the harvest window is ending for THC but CBD will reach its peak. Growing a CBD strain, you probably want to wait until amber trichomes appear. Whatever preference you have, you must buy a 2$ hand-held microscope to ensure your buds are fully ready. Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need any further information, and happy growing! 👊

Looking good. I like your style. Go with the experimentation. We’re doing the same. Hard to keep 3 different diaries up to date! The LST training is fun.
