Well I had to make a decision this cycle on whether or not to keep a mother plant around and just clone from her. I decided that is what I will do. The problem for me in my area is that there is a limit on the number of plants I can legally have and keeping a mother around drops that number by one. I'm also considering moving into a aeroponic setup, though that will likely be a few grows from now as I have lots of supplies to run through before then. This cycle I topped the mother plants (Day 23) to encourage shoots growth, in turn giving me more nodes to use for cloning. Also watering has jumped from 500 ml per 24 hour period to 1 litre. There is a distinct difference between my mothers, one with a purple tint and an unquenchable thirst, and the other a white with (brown, red) striping which seems to like to savour the fertilizer. The clones are 24 hours old in the photo, not that its a great photo of them. I'll know better in a week or so how that went. Cloned using ProMix Stim Root IBA 0.01, cut across a node, placed in moistened peat media, in a compostable cup, in a red cup to trap heat at the roots. Those red cups were then placed in a transparent tote from Walmart to act as a makeshift glasshouse. If all goes well I'll have a crop (2 plants :)) to manage, and these mothers will be maintained.

I've never grown pot from seed before, I'm at the sexing stage (40-50 days) and I'm having a little trouble with this one. I believe it's a male, but it seems to be kinda pointy, it seems to have a stem but is that just my eyes? Is this a male/female plant in your expert opinion?

It’s still to early to tell for sure by the pics really but my guess would be a male too. Get some more shots of some other nodes closer to the top of the plant. Might be easier to tell then. It’s really hard from that pic. But if I had to guess id put it in a maybe male bunch to be double checked again in a week or so. Get some more pics tho an we should be able to tell as I can usually sex mine from 3-4 weeks veg usually only needing an extra week sometimes 2 for some plants to be 100% confirmed. so yea get some pics of nearer the top of the plant near the top nodes an hopefully we can tell.

they look female to me.don't get confused, you can see some single calyxes on the main stem later in flowering which you may think are pollen sacs but no they are not. This doesn't mean it's a male.male looks completely different, check out my dead diary.still you can wait for another week to be clear and if it grows both female and male things(flowers and sacs), just dont toss it. you can remove visible pollen sacs by hand and you'll be safe

I updated the pictures, my "white" plant is definitely a female so no pics. The "purple" plant is in question as I have found odd structures that are either modified leaves growing into a new stem or perhaps male pre-flowers. I need your help to decide which you think it is.
