My latest indoor grow, all autos.
In the tent we have:
- Lemon AK / from Fastbuds x 2
- White Widow Autoflowering / from Dinafem
- Dinamex Autoflowering / from Dinafem
Using Canna professional soil mix with some added perlite of my own.
10L pots, LED lights on a 24hr cycle.
Humidity is at least 70%, with sometimes hitting 80%, only watered once in their 7th day of life. Mist sprayed once or twice.
‘Water water feed’ method, will monitor. Anything between 6.3 - 6.8 ph will be fine, I like each to be slightly different than the last, wherever that falls.
Nutrients used will be:
- Rhizotonic root stimulant
- CalMag
- pH perfect micro, grow and bloom. Slight to begin with, won’t use until needed.
- bid bud flowering booster
Can anybody recommend something they think I’m missing?
Will definitely deploy some LST techniques whenever needed, I’m getting better at it. Also currently playing around with some LST on greenhouse pepper plants for the fun of it. Lemon AK description from Fastbuds says staking the girls from early on is needed, we’ll see if I get that lucky. One greenhouse Lemon AK did have a support stake for LST support.
7 days in and the earliest soil sprouters are currently the most developed. Had to help along a couple seedlings with removing their shell . I’ve heard this happens with auto shells more often, I’m hoping it hasn’t ruined them already 🤣
I’m optimistic about this grow! Less is more with autos and I’ve learnt a lot from Autos v Photos with first hand experience. I’d be sad if I didn’t at least match my Photoperiod yield of 5oz dry from 3 plants,
There’s a Pink Tiger chilli plant in a small pot also in the tent. She’ll likely stay in until there’s no room left for her. Have some in larger pots in the greenhouse, but I like the project of a little one. Google pink tiger chillis, they look awesome and deserving of their name.

Wow what a lot of growth at the end of the second week! Plants are 14 days old today, and growth has shot up. Keeping pH around 6.5, watering only when soil is dry, plants seem to love it.
Tallest girl is 10cm, whilst the smallest is 3cm. The three biggest plants are the ones that broke out of their shell first. The rest are behind because their shells struggled to be removed. Tried to not intervene too much, but maybe I should encourage them off ASAP next time.
RH is still around 70-75% mark, it helps a lot with young growth that’s for sure.
Reduced root feed to 2ml/L, only feeding every third watering.
Really, really happy so far! Can’t believe we’re only 14 days in.
Ps - cannabis is so much easier to grow than hot peppers...
I can’t believe these girls are only 21 days old! Still no base nutrients given, just water and occasionally some root stimulant.
Heatwave starting today, so likely scenario is all of this week the lights will just have the veg lights on, bloom off, halving heat output but unfortunately also light output too.
I’ve done a tiny bit of LST this morning, hoping to get plenty of flower sites reaching for the light. Removed two fan leaves on 1x Lemon AK and 1x White Widow because I’m worried they’ll block light. Few leaf tucking techniques deployed, too.
This week was LST week! Every couple days I’ve been readjusting the low stress training, creating loads new tops. Growth has been explosive, can’t quite believe how quickly they’re growing.
- pH is anywhere between 6.3 - 6.8, usually close to 6.5.
- each girl given about 1L of water every few days, letting the pots get dry and light to be
picked up.
Had outside temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius, had a frozen salt water 5L bottle in the tent on the hottest days. Tent got to 36 degrees at one point, but the girls didn’t seem to care. No visible signs of heat stress and they’re still growing like little rockets.
Bought some molasses the other day and gave them a little. Should I wait till flower until they have any more? Or can the house benefit from it throughout the grow cycle?
It’s been an enjoyable week! So much has changed since the last update that I can hardly believe it’s only been 7 days.
Staggered flowering times, to be expected. All shown lady parts; White Widow first, then Dinamex followed by Lemon AK. The latter does show the most potential though. Introduced base nutrients and CalMag. Next week I’ll add some bloom booster.
Highest point of the canopy is 40cm all, lots of LST. Various small amounts of defoliation every few days.
The tent is still host to a 3 week old Pink Kush Photoperiod. It’s a pretty colour right now. It’s got its own diary, but I don’t particularly care about it.
Seeding some pretty bud babies on their way. All plants are still in the same order of development; White Widow is the furthest along, followed by Dinamex and lastly Lemon AK. No proper flowers on the Lemon AK, so might still be more vertical growth. Played around with some LST work just now.
Plants look a little droopy due to thirst. Sometimes they need water every 24hr right now, sometimes 48. This time should have been 36hrs, not 48. They’re fine though, no harm.
Had been watering 1.2L, think I’ll increase it to 1.5L next watering. So exciting seeing the weekly growth. If I average 2oz per strain, so 6oz total, I’d be happy. I think the next grow will be photoperiods again, but I’m really enjoying this auto grow.
🌱
Good progress again this week! Had to move one of the Lemon AK girls from the middle to the side of the tent, due to its delayed flowering and continual stretch. Still one Lemon AK in preflower, it’s probably a week behind the rest.
Watering 1.5L for each plant every other day, upped base nutrients by 50% to 1.5ml/L, no sign of burn so they’ve taken to it fine.
Carbon filter has been added to the tent, but I may need a new one. Over the past couple days I’d say the plants have transitioned from ‘weak’ smell to ‘normal’ smell, with the really smelly days yet to come.
This is looking like it’ll be a lovely harvest, I’m so excited! 🌱
Week 8! I was away for the weekend, which happened to be the hottest weekend on record. Came home to half of the tent desperate for water, with bottom leaves making the ultimate sacrifice.
Battling incredibly high temperatures, close to 40 degrees Celsius at one point yesterday! Waaaay too high, but I can’t do anything about it. Tent is too full, not prepared to sacrifice a plant early.
Since adding the carbon filter to the tent, the smell is confined unless tent is opened.
Dinamex - smells sickly sweet, kind of unpleasant actually. But the hairs are already orange, sticky trichomes and growing by the day. Can’t wait to taste it.
Tallest plant grew 8cm this week from 60cm - the lemon AK is still not flowering fully. No idea why.
Love this hobby.
Okay it’s time to finally admit it. One of the Lemon AK girls is not an Autoflower. She showed me her lady parts weeks ago, but never started flowering. Once I can clear out the tent a little it’ll become a Photoperiod tent again. I hope she doesn’t stretch too much when she actually flowers? Or is that done already?
Temperatures have dropped which is great. 26 degrees Celsius in the tent right now. I upped nutrients from 1.5ml/L to 2ml/L at the beginning of the week, but the lemon ak is looking a little dark and waxy. Decided to reduce back to 1.5ml/L for all autos.
Carbon filter is doing it’s job perfectly, when I open the tent it’s smelly! Really smelly!
Some buds are really frosting up well, maybe give the white widow and Dinamex two more weeks? We’ll see.
Fattening up nicely. Missed a feed this week because we had guests in the home. The accidental lemon ak Photoperiod looks like it’s asking for nutes, so it’ll get some tomorrow.
A week or two to go on 4/6 plants, 2 white widow and 2 Dinamex will be done first.
This is the last weekly update for the majority of the autos in the tent. 4/6 plants are being chopped in the next couple days. The last week has been just water, before that a last feed of molasses.
I changed the lighting from 24hrs on to 20/4 to see if it would stimulate flower in the non auto seed, it didn’t. Will flip to flower in a couple weeks with some added photoperiods.
The Dinamex smells so interesting! So sweet and sickly. Will post harvest once I have dry weights of all individual strains separately.
Wow this strain. It stinks, and not in a good way? Best way I can describe it is sickly sweet. Hasn’t been pleasurable on my nose, but I keep going back for more. Why is that? Probably because I know it’ll send me to another dimension.
Two plants harvested, Girl #1 yielded 35g, girl #2 yielded 40g. 2.65oz from two autos? I’m happy with that. They experienced no issues really, cramped conditions in the tent, but these sticky plants soaked it all up.
Really happy with Dinafem’s seeds, think I’ll look into getting some of their purple strains soon.
Plant #1 yielded 65g, plant #2 yielded 34g. Didn’t weigh some of the smaller buds, so,to get 100g + off two autos makes me really happy!
Combining a Dinamex x2 and White Widow x2 to give me over 6oz of bud makes me really happy. My first auto grow (first grow) got me 1.6oz from 3 plants, my first grow sucked!
I’ve learnt a lot.
White widow grew so easily, produced the fat tested buds but also quite a lot of leaf. Looking forward to trying it after the cure.
So i sprouted two lemon ak auto seeds - one of which turned out to be a Photoperiod! So one auto plant yielded me 40g of dry bud. If there was room in the tent I would have let it go for longer, but there’s just no room.
I got 7.6oz + from this grow, which I’m so happy about. 5 plants averaging 1.52oz per plant, three times better than my last auto grow.
Next main grow is CBD Photoperiod seeds from Royal Queen Seeds, will post the diary now!
@@GreenHeart420, so annoying it turned out to be an Photoperiod 😔 will it stretch even more when I flip them after the autos are done? Might need to supercrop it
Oh baby do you got a beautiful canopy there. Hard work paid off. Nice job. Great work my friend. Keep doing what your doing and best of luck with the rest of the journey.
