This grow is all from clones of female GDPs I had in my tent last run. As of 7/1, I transplanted to 5 gallon smart pots from 1 gallon pots, topped and trimmed as appropriate. As of 7/7, LEDs were exchanged with HID, and the light schedule switched to 12/12. I trimmed again, and then used some LST. I want to seriously improve on the results from the last GDP grow I did. I have installed a room AC that keeps temps under 90, even on the hottest days with an average around 85. C02 is being applied once daily. Instead of running 400 watts until the last two weeks when i bumped to 600watts, I'll stay at 600 for the duration of the grow. The soil is now a mix of all prior soils I used, amended with Blood and Bone meal plus Chicken Manure. I think the chicken manure is a big mistake for indoor grows given how acrid it is, but if the soil is already heated before entry to the grow room, it probably won't cause to much of a smell. As the title states, I intend to flower these plants for 10 weeks. 8 with nutes, week 9 with only terpinator/signal and the final week with distilled water. Hopefully the timing will coincide with lower outdoor temps and therefore lower night temps which should bring out the purple I wasn't able to achieve last grow. So far I am watering each plant with 1/2 gallon every 2-3 days and rotating them inside/outside the fan upon watering since the plants closest to the fan dry out really quick.

The tent is beginning to take off! This week we will be reducing N a bit since the plants are beginning to show that dark green color that precedes excess, so I cut the N in half and will see how they all look through this coming week. Bloom and Big Bud were both increased to 6ml/gal and I upped the Cal Mag to 4ml as well since they are stretching and budding very nicely. I'll begin to introduce HP2 toward the end of this week (~7/25) and taper off the Big Bud to 2ml where it will remain until week 8, I think. GDP #3, 4 &5 are starting to chug water like a hungover frat kid, so I've had to increase watering to about 1/2 gallon every day, or a full gallon every 2-3. Update 7/23, added 2 ml of Earth Juice Micro. With ~26ml of nutes (~20ml if you don't count Ancient Amber which may as well not have a TDS), the final TDS is around 400, which seems super low, especially during the stretch. Even so the girls aren't showing any sign of deficiency. I know organic tends on the lower side of nute application, but I regularly see growers in the 1000s with super soil too, plus my soil isn't all that hot in the first place. Any thoughts? 7/22/19- got sick of potatoe quality images and got a new camera. The amount they have grown in two days is sorta astounding. I think I may also end up flushing GDP2, she's starting to show some clawing and general N burn.

Things are plugging along nicely in the tent. The girls are drinking tons of water and have stretched out really nicely. Being that I'm aiming for a 10 week cycle, I think going to try and stick with transition nutes through the end of this week, although I will be introducing 4ml of HP2 and completely removing N for the time being. Micro nutes are not delivered with every feeding, instead I try to deliver 2ml with one feeding a week. The girls are also starting to put off a bit of stank and her leaves are starting to some some crystals.

The frosting begins! At the end of last week I switched some stuff up and also did a final trim of the girls. The runt and the giant both went into a smaller tent under a 400watt HID and the three which were fairly similar in height and width stayed in the original tent. I put up the trellis in the main tent and have spread the girls out there nicely. About halfway through last week all the girls began putting on crystals and omitting a juicy aroma. All in all, they are looking good and I'm super excited to see the bud growth this time. Nightime temps have been ~20 degrees F beneath daytime temps, but for whatever reason there isn't even the slightest hint of purple in any of the buds. Heres to hoping that changes in the next couple weeks. Over the last week or so I've also noticed a growing deficiency/excess of some sort. I know my soil is still high in N which is causing the dark green leaves, but the leaves are also growing fairly thin with the very beginnings of small yellow/brown dots. I haven't been checking PH because I thought the soil buffer + lots of organic nutes would balance the PH for the duration of the grow, but I no longer think that's the case. Checking PH I ended up with 5.15 with an EC of ~480. I adjusted with baking soda to ~6.6 and immediately delivered. If I see the leaves stretching upwards today, I'll know I nailed the nutes and PH. I'll probably upload some extra photos too.

Grow Questions

The main tent runs 9am-9pm. When I got home at 1pm the light was out. I assume it never started this morning. They are now under LED. Will they hermie? Whats wrong with my ballast/light?

Hey no the light being out for half a day wont make them hermie. It usually takes more stress than that. I wouldnt worry about that. And as far as your light I would assume the bulb went out depending on the age of your equipment. You can usually see the burned element. You can check the light socket with a cheap volt meter but I wouldnt advise it unless you are experienced with electricity. Hope this helps.

The pressure is on! I had an HID bulb burn out in the main tent which required other lights to be moved around. The new bulb is on the way but as a result of switching lights around, I've decided to begin flushing the runt and the giant for a week 7-8 harvest. I'll still harvest the main three around week 10, but the LED I have over the smaller plants is probably just strong enough to keep them from hermie and not much else. I'm also out of bud and its about time i start living off my own stash. First week of flush will be 2ml Terpinator and 4ml Signal (both K and terp boosters) and the week after just plain water. Worse yet, I picked a couple buds off the main plants and 1/4 were developing seeds. I don't see any bananas so I don't know if a bud happened to pick up some pollen from god knows were, or if one of the main plants is hermie. Still the buds were super sticky, like won't wash or rub off sticky which is excellent. Either way, the girls are loving their nutes, still being watered every other day with between 1/2 and 1 gallon. Since last week the girls have finished all vertical growth and now are simply fattening up. Even under the LED which typically produces more colorful bud, I'm still not seeing any purple. I'm almost curious if the breeder I got this one from induced purpling via magnesium deficiency as opposed to genes. I guess I'll have to wait till the flush to find out. I also broke a top :( but I've got it drying so theres that. Looks pretty dank tbh

The final stretch begins. As the journal title states, my intent is to run these for ten weeks but at this point I think I may up a week or two short based on how the girls are looking. Despite upping the nutes, adding a bit more N and PH balancing before delivery, all the girls in the main tent look like they are making their final push and sending all available nutrients to the buds. I'm going to flush them with plain water to make sure the roots aren't locked up with salts. If not, I guess week seven will be the start of the flush. Still no purple though.... I've trimmed and dried a couple tops from the main tent, and good lord I'm happy I ran GDP again. Really high terp content, tons of THC and a lovely body stone makes me want to cut them down today lol All in all, i'm happy with how this grow has gone and I'm glad I took a second shot at GDP (or whatever strain I have).

I've done some culling. The runt and one of the main GDP plants have been cut down. The runt because it was producing seeds, one of the main GDP because I'm dry as a mormon. That leafs me with 3 plants. The 'giant' and two female GDP. The tent is fairly evenly split between HID and LED with a little crossover in the middle. The GDP under the HID is holding quite a bit more water and has yellowing leaves. I've been treating this as a nute lockout and have had her flushing most of the week. The plant under the LED is drinking almost a gallon a day of full strength bloom nutes and is really packing on the weight. The 'giant' is in between the two in terms of water consumption but is also developing it's own nute deficiency and never really locked healthy, but I'm hoping the stronger light and Co2 will help her danken up I'll be doing my best to get things back on course, but I'm 99% sure I'll at least get one of these suckers to 10 weeks.
