Lol they don’t look like the first one cause they don’t have 360 degrees of close ass light lol...see how it only took one run of fuck ups to learn what not to do??? Those 3 are gonna smash your first one just like my 2 will do better than my first 3. (Chucked one in the trash today)

@Eighty8Special, lmfaoooooo. You are right, one fuck up and I did learn what not to do hahah. It's a learning process but yeah I hope they do really well, overall though I am still very proud of how far the first one has come xD.

Nice looks like they turned out well. Look forward to the smoke up date. Congrats on your harvest.

@Philindicus, the buds I harvested off an individual branch are pretty wet still. After a couple hours 67-69% RH in the jar. I adjusted my humidity to 50 today so hopefully that will help them re moisturize a bit and pro long the drying a little more. The tent smells very hay like right now, for the first few days tho it smelt dank as fuck. I hope I didn't dry them out too fast with a too low humidity. All the branches still have lots of moisture in them. I think I will go do that and harvest the small buds and see if they are dry enough. Thanks for the good info Phil <3

@visco, theres too many variables. At 40% humidity she's going to dry pretty fast. 45 -55% would slow her down a bit after the first 2 to 3 days of drying at 40%. I would take the smaller buds off the stems at 4 to 5 days then jar them up and see what the humidity is. If it's over 65% take them out of the jars for a few hours then put them back in. You may have to do this once or twice or for a longer time if it's 69-to 70% humidity. If it's stays at 65% or less just leave the top off the jar for 3-4 hours a couple of times a day until it stays in the 62% range. Then do the same with the medium sized buds a few days later then go for the larger buds last. If they are not dry enough take them back out of the jars and put them on a tray. I don't do the b.s. with waiting for the the stems to be dry enough to snap to see if they are ready to jar up. If the stem snaps they will probably be too dry. You should be able to get them into the 62% range by 7- 10 days after harvesting them then let them cure for at least 2-3 weeks. Just open the jars a couple of time a week to let fresh air into them. Also don't fill the jars all the way maybe like 3/4 full very loosely. If they stick together take them out then put them back in. Smell the jars to make sure they're aren't any musky or ammonia like smells. I usually will sample them at that point. Then let them cure for another few weeks seem like 6 -8 week cure works out the best it will help you get a smoother smoke and better smell and flavor out of the buds. You'll get a bunch of opinions on drying/curing them from growers. They need a bit of babysitting.

@Philindicus,One of the plants lost a branch when I cut it at the base so its been drying seperately. I decided to trim it up today and sample it, it's pretty amazing, I am pleased, but it is definitely still wet lol. Put it in a jar and the RH shot up to 65 after 2 hrs. It's a good thing I didn't jump the gun and trim all of the plants. How long should it take a whole plant, untrimmed to dry? 7-14 days?

@gr33ncore, thanks! This is their last week technically, but I am thinking they might need 1 more week, they seem a little immature IMO, but most people I have asked said they look fine... I remember my last plant having a lot more orange pistils at this point.

With my autos I usually try to give them a flush week 5 or just before I switch to bloom nutrients to see where I stand. After that I usually try to check the runoff ph and ppm once a week there's always one or two that are feeding/drinking like pigs and one that feeds less. Go figure!

@Philindicus, Yeah I messed up a little haha but I been flushing with PH water just lowering the ppms down to 1000. Gonna give them some bloom nutes in prob 1 more watering. The tall pheno is looking amazing, really starting to fatten up now in week 5 flower :)

I would give them a small flush 1/2 to 3/4 gallon with plain water. Then use a TDS meter and check the first cup or two of runoff for ph and ppm that comes out. If shes over 1000 ppm I would flush her a bit more down to 850 ppm. Then let her dry out a bit before your next watering/feeding and check her again. Just did this tonight on my plants I had 2 that were pushing 1350 ppm. I try to keep my autos in the 850-950 ppm on the run off if they hit 1000 ppm they get plain water next time. Seems to work out pretty good for my grow style.👍

@Philindicus, yep yep these pics are quite a few days old. I didn't want to overwater so I waited till they were dry to flush. Checked their ppms, I can't remember exactly the PPM's on all 3 but yeah the one with the major nitrogen toxicity was VERY high, so I will continue flushing it till its in the correct range again. I never really understood the importance of ppm like this until I did this hahah. Thanks Phil :)

Looks like the plant loosing the lower fan leaves is wanting more nitrogen. If this was the one you flushed this could be why. I would continue to use the FF Grow Big and add some cal/mag also so the upper part of the plant doesn't keep cannibalizing the nitrogen from the lower leaves. I would continue to check her run off make sure it isn't too low now. Hard to tell the leaves with the brown edges on the upper leaves could be a bit of leaf burn.

@visco, I've run into this issue with growers and TDS meters. Some growers in Europe have meters that use a 0.70 scale so there readings seem very high too me because my TDS meter uses a 0.50 scale. So if I know what scale they are using I can use my conversion table to see the difference. Some TDS meters will have a button for more than one scale. I'm down in Florida my tap water is terrible loaded with calcium and magnesium runs 375 ppm my tap ph is 8.5 I would have to use ridiculous amounts of acid to lower the ph and keep it down.I use only reverse osmosis water. If you have a small grow you can use distilled or purified water or a 50/50 mix of that and tap water. Usually if your tap water is over 200 ppm it's not suggested to use it. So what i'm saying is if your at 1800 ppm - 400 ppm(Tap water ppm) = 1400 ppm with a tds meter that's using a 0.70 scale you may only be a little bit high. 1400 ppm on a 0.70 scale is equal to 1000 ppm on a 0.50 scale. Which is fine. Now that I have confused the shit out you with this conversion stuff. I hope you can make some sense of this. https://www.getbluelab.com/Resource+Library/Conductivity.html

@Philindicus, Ahh okay didn't know that LOL. my water is usually around 400 to 500 ppm. And I usually feed at around 800-900 ppm. Either way they are still high.

Philindicuscommented5 years ago
@visco, It would help if you listed what ppm your feeding her at.
