Overall a good week, hot start, but mellowed out to nice mild temps with mostly sunny days. Temp isn't dipping too badly most nights, so has been much better for them. The 3 that have been going all along are solidly in flower & stopped denying it and started feeding them Bio-Bloom and Fire Juice. The White Widow and Caramel King are both doing well with no trouble, but the Green Scout Cookies is getting a bit of rust fungus, so glad they're flowering and will be done soon. Not too keen on photoperiods anymore for the space I have and the rust. I spray with soap and feed epsom salt mix, but it just slows it down. She'll still flower fine, but cut a few leaves off of her to get rid of as much as possible. Also defoliated the Caramel King, you can see in some of the pre-cut shots why I call her my cabbage. She's looking great after her haircut, I try not to take too many off and leave a layer of leaves all over, just take out the overlapping ones and any blocking light from the buds. Also seen a few thrips and squished most of them. They're not too much of a problem if I keep my eye on them, so will keep squishing and spray some more neem oil on them. Gave them all some calmag I made by drying eggshells and crushing them. They are also starting to smell a little after touching the sugar leaves (I have OCD about touching the buds haha can't handle seeing people do it. Any trichomes on my buds stay there and get smoked, not on my fingers. From bits I would trim I don't mind haha). The Caramel King is the strangest smell, woody and earthy, but almost toasted... difficult to describe, but nice and keen to see how it develops. The Green Scout Cookies isn't very strong, but has that typical cookies scent, which I love, so hope she fills out. The White Widow takes me back! I grew a big one back on the early 2000's and as I smelt her it reminded me of that plant and I loved the smoke and high so much. Impossible smell to describe properly, but very smooth & creamy. I have another seed of her, so might pop that in at the end of the season and try get a bigger one. My ICU Patient was released from it's ward on Sunday (Day 58), repotted it and put some Mycoroot and Dynaroot in the hole to help the roots as much as possible. Used a plastic dome over her the 1st night and woke up to her with beads of water on her leaves and had to get a shot. After that I propped the dome up a little to let a little airflow, then right up on the side of the pot and finally off completely. She's looking good and can see the growth point is stretching open and slowly growing. The rots were quite well developed after being in the water for a month, so sure she'll shoot up after the shock of replanting.

Getting a few lighter patches on some of the leaves (in the last 2 shots) and not sure what is causing that... possibly the cold? Any help would be much appreciated!

Hi @Shinsimilla! I see two possibilities here: either it's a pest-related issue, or it's nothing to worry about. I've seen this kind of mutation a few times in my previous run and in other diaries, and it was a natural genetic peculiarity affecting the first leaves, then it disappeared as the plant grew up. But in other situations, this could come from insects, especially thrips and/or leaf-miners. You should establish a pest-prevention strategy while she's in veg (by diffusing essential oils, spraying neem oil, deploying ladybugs or any relevant solution to repel all unwanted invaders). Take a deep look onto and below the leaves with a magnifier, look for thrips or any insects, if you don't see anything then it's the 1st option, you can relax and watch the new leaves grow without spots/marks. But the pest prevention strategy remains relevant! Hope this will help, let me know in the comments section if you need anything, and how it evolves with time. Happy growing! 👊

I would also suggest since they are in pots to try to bring them inside overnight because root growth crawls to a stop once temperatures drop below 60 F. https://theweedblog.com/grower-tips/what-is-the-ideal-temperature-for-growing-marijuana-plants

@Philindicus, haha thanks. Yeah, it is. I'm down in South Africa & the last few winters have been mild, so I risked starting a bit earlier, but it didn't work so well this year.

@Shinsimilla, I should have guessed that was the case but my ESP has been a bit off lately. Hope things warm up for you. Is it spring where you live?

@Philindicus, thanks for the link, some nice info in there. I wish I had the option to bring them all inside at night, but have 18 pots at the moment and no place to put them inside. I might just look after the slowest ones & just bring one or 2 in when we have a really cold night. It should be warming up here soon & next season I'll just be more patient & wait till it's a bit warmer before I start.

@urbi09, thank you! Much appreciated! They're doing much better this week, the Caramel King is the fattest seedling I've ever grown, so am super happy with them so far!

@urbi09, apologies, the Guerilla Glue slipped in there by accident. Was meat to be the Good Wild Shark (was my 1st Diary & am clearly a newb) I have a Guerilla Glue Auto going in my Batch 1 Auto Diary and she's doing really well!

@CRiSPrGrow, thanks Boss!! Been playing around with focus stacking for the first time this week (macro is just for fun and never done it before), it's so easy and results look good on the few tests I've done, so should get more in focus in future and will finally manage to get all my trichomes sharp 💪

@Stick, thanks so much fir the response man! That puts my mind at ease haha I did a test grow last season to see what I was dealing with at our new house and got introduced to thrips, white flies, aphids, spider mites and rust fungus haha I've sprayed some neem on the surface of the soil before planting & sprayed my entire greenhouse with pyrol (took the plants out for that) because there were tonnes of fungus gnats and a few ants tried to move in. That seemes to have sorted 99% of my bugs out and keep the hunting spiders & garden spiders around to help, so am fairly confident it's not a pest. So it should just be a mutation that is caused from the cold hopefully. Can see it on some of my autos too, looks like it's warming up next week, so hopefully it sorts itself out. Thanks!
