30x Green Gelato grow | RQS

MEANGREEN 14-08-2019 ------------- 40x Green Gelato by Royal Queen Seeds have been put in between wet makeup removal pads (per 10 seeds) to initiate germination. As soon as they have germinated and been put in small pots, I will start this grow-diary. 15-08-2019 ------------- Not even 12 hours after having put them in between the pads for germination, most of them have popped already. Ten of which were ready to go into the small 0.5l pots. Before being able to do so, I have prepared ± 25l of Coco by putting 2 bricks of Coco (Bionova) into a solution of water + Superthrive + CoGr Buffer + some Root Stimulator. (pH-ed down to 5.5). They are now underneath a 125w CFL light. They will all remain there for a week or so before being moved into a different room, where they will VEG under LED (Photon Growlight). I have a total of 15 x 65W (per unit) and I'm not sure yet how many of them I will use for VEG. 16-08-2019 ------------- More beans have germinated overnight. Pretty much all 40, except for 2 so far. I've put another 20 germinated seeds, which were ready to put in small pots, into the small 0.5l pots and underneath the 125W CFL light in the small tent. There's a total of 30 in there now and I'm expecting to be able to put the remaining 10 in there by tonight or tomorrow. Thanks for watching! 17-08-2019 ------------ Small update... the last ones (except for 2) of the 40x Green Gelato by Royal Queen Seeds have germinated enough to be put in the small 0.5l containers, which I did today. I've filled up the containers of the ones I've put in the small pots first, as they were already reaching for the light. I always fill the small pots with just a little (half full) coco , so that when they start reaching for the light and stretch during the first few days, I can fill the pots up with the rest of the coco, so it supports the long and skinny legs and I only end up with 2 small leafs on top of the coco. More pics + updates soon... 20-08-2019 —————— From the 40 seeds, 39 eventually sprouted, of which 2 didn’t make it, leaving me with a germination score of 37/40. Which to me is perfectly fine as the plan was to eventually have 36 ladies in the flower-room. This will be the last update for this week, as over the next week I will let them come up for a bit and let them work on root-development, before eventually transplanting them into either red-cups or a slightly larger sized pot. MEANGREEN 21-08-2019 / 25-08-2019 —————————————- Short update this week since there is not much to mention. Other than the 2 seeds that didn’t sprout initially, did sprout eventually. And I lost one seedling due to not sprouting enough to make it. I’m left with a total of 35/40 as of now. The root development is getting along really well now and I will transplant all of them into ‘red cups’ upcoming week. That’s also the week they will be moved to the flower location, where they will veg for another (at least) 4-5 weeks. (Not in the ‘red cups’ though, but in 6,5l pots). MEANGREEN 30-08-2019 / 07-09-2019 —————————————— Week 3 was the week where the ladies were moved from the small tent into the veg-room and under the full lights. Currently I’m using @photonled lighting, After having used Gavita DE1000W for years, I have recently switched to @Photonled lighting. A modular LED lighting system, which in short consists of daisy-chain-able 65w LED units, which can be configured to each personal likings. (I will include a photo in the report). The plants had to get used to the intense lighting and showed some signs of stress. (As you can see in the overview photo). There were some plants which were growing significantly less vigorous and stayed behind for too long, so I took those out. In total out of 40, there are 32 left. As of now ( Week 4), they are recovering well and have fully adjusted to the LED’s.

MEANGREEN 08-09-2019 / 15-09-2019 ---------------------------- They are really starting to get back to normal healthy plants and they seem to recover well from the transplant + the intense lighting and Cal/Mag deficiencies. As of last week they have been under the full strength lighting on which they will remain until done flowering. As of right now I have a total of 17 PhotonLed units hanging above the plants ( 17x 65W) and I have been very happy already so far when it comes to the temperature in the grow-room. The temperature in the grow-room when I was still running my Gavita's was significantly higher than it is now, which is a huge help. As of right now the temperature does not exceed 25ºC , making my extraction fan (Isomax 2360) run on a very, very low Hz. While running the Gavita's it was constantly running at close to full power and at times it still had a hard time getting rid of all the access heat from the grow-room. Right now it's running at tops 25Hz, compared to the 45-50Hz it used to run on. Making everything more silent and much easier to deal with. As of next week I will have to put a heater in the room to keep the day and night temps close to each other as it's getting a bit more cold now. Until the next week! Thanks for stopping by :)

MEANGREEN 16-09-2019 / 25-09-2019 --------------------------- Week 5 of veg had little to mention. I forgot to mention that in the past weeks the plants have been topped at least 2x. Unfortunately the battery of my camera died, so I have not been able to take any new photos for week 5. I have added some photos from late Week 4 of Veg because I couldn't update the report otherwise... The plants are looking good and all signs of stress and cal/mag deficiencies have been taken care of, leaving me with a nice and lush green grow-room. I am posting this report with 2 weeks delay. MEANGREEN 26-09-2019 / 03-10-2019 --------------------------- Week 6 of Veg. Did some extensive defoliation and topping. Also took some clones from the most vigorously growing plants and took 2 of those plants out of the grow-room and moved them into the mother-tent, where they can become proper mother-plants over time. The plan is to switch to flower around the 8th week of Veg (from germination). By that time I have big enough plants, even after having taken clones and monster-cropping and topping them multiple times. All is looking good so far. They seem to be liking the full amount of light they are receiving now and they are growing very vigorously and I haven't installed the drip-system yet. Still not sure whether to get the drip-system going again or just going by hand-feeding them this time... On to week 7! Thanks for stopping by.

MEANGREEN 04-10-2019 / 11-10-2019 --------------------------- All is looking really good now that the plants cal/mag deficiency has been dealt with. Gave them about 30ml of Aptus Ca/Mg boost on a 65l reservoir and in addition I foliar fed them with a dose of Ca/Mg boost and within 24 hours a significant change was already noticeable in the leafs, turning nice and green again. I have stopped topping them as of now and I have also decided to not do a scrog this run. I have always done scrog grow's but the setup as it is right now isn't very convenient for scrogging, so no scrogging this time around... Next week will be the week I will switch to flower. MEANGREEN Mean Green back with an update on the Green Gelato's, currently in week 1 of flower, but reporting about week 8 of Veg. The last week of veg involved some more defoliation and "shaving their legs". I think I've mentioned having taking clones from them... The clones were cut on 10-10-2019 and today (8 days later) about 15 of them were already healthy rooted clones, so I've put those into small containers with some coco and moved them into the Veg tent. Today I took another 50 clones during the defoliation and leg-shaving session 😲 I've added some Silicium to my res to try and keep them from stretching too much (as I know some phenos are prone to stretch a LOT during the first weeks of flower). Also added to the res is some Fulvic Acid. Other than that they are only being fed Canna Coco A+B + Aptus Ca/Mg Boost and a bit of Superthrive at the moment. Other than that there is nothing much more to mention. I think the photos speak for themselves 😇 Onto the next update ... Keep 'm green !

MEANGREEN 14-10-2019 / 20-10-2019 --------------------------- Week 1 of flower is just done. All is still going smooth. I'm still foliar feeding them every 2 day's with Hypro Spraymix and Aptus Ca/Mg Boost and some days with some Silicium added. They are very vigorous growing plants. I can only imagine what forest it would have been, had I installed my drip system... They are now being fed about 1.5l every 2-3 days. The clones are doing well as well. Almost all clones which were cut at 10-10 are already rooted and been put in small pots in the veg tent. Week 2 of flower is starting tomorrow... Small pre-flowering is starting to appear already one week in after switching to flower. Back with an update next week! Lots of photos added, taken over the course of past week.

MEANGREEN Mean Green back with another update on the Green Gelato's :) Week 2 of 12/12 (flower) was smooth sailing. They have stretched a little more than I wanted, so I might have to up the Silicium next time or do some additional training... Or any training at all for that matter hehe. This was the first time I didn't SCROG... While I was planning on doing so, things changed last minute and ended up not being able to scrog. Also took some more clones and had some from the week before rooted and placed in small pots. Had some clones die due to lack of fresh air, but other than that, the ladies are still looking healthy and lush green! A bunch of photos added, taken over the course of Week 2 12/12. *EDIT* for some reason the photos show latest to oldest, whereas it should be oldest to newest. MEANGREEN Week 3 of 12/12 Nothing crazy to report, nothing bad either. Only thing I will keep in mind next time is to train them a bit or flip them a bit sooner as they have stretched quite a bit during the first 3 weeks of flower, despite the use of silicium... Something to keep in mind for next time, though it's not really an issue for now as I can still move the lights up. Smooth sailing so far. They are starting to smell really nice now!

MEANGREEN Week 4 of 12/12 Still going strong. Noticed an upcoming Phosphorus deficiency so added some Phosphorus to the res. Hope to have supplemented enough Phosphorus to see a positive change in a few days. Other than the Phosphorus deficiency everything is still smooth sailing...
