These girls didnt grow how i expected from the beginning. Very slow and stubby. That being said, the seeds are from a breeder who is known for herms etc (not directly from Crockett Family Farms). Goes to show why you should pay for your seeds and not cheap out. Out of 6, this is the only girl that made it. That being said, she was strong until the finish - with a nice growth spurt before harvest.

pH Perfect is not exactly perfect. I used half the recommended dose, and my girls still show nitrogen toxicity - all that have gotten this line. Now, i will say it grew the plants...to the full extent? Maybe. Would something different be better? Maybe. Will i be using this line past these bottles? Probably not.
The liquid koolbloom carried my girls through flower quite well. The calimagic was not necessary as it was a soil grow. Armour si, cant really tell if it worked, but she did go through flower with my GG that has a bit of PM on her and not a speck on this one.

Harvest went well, took about an hour to chop, wet trim and hang. I expect between 1-2 ounces so nothing special. The nugs are golf ball size with decent weight to them. Ill be continuing to update as the dry and cure process goes and finally the smoke. I WILL UPDATE EVERY FEW DAYS AFTER HARVEST!!!

So I am currently week 5-6 with Crocketts Confidential. I have not been seeing a lot of upward growth, but mostly just bushyness. The plants themselves look happy and healthy to my eye. Any recommendations to get these girls growing upwards?

Best and simplest would be to stop stressing them out and let them grow more between pinching them if they're the size and shape you desire you keep setting them back with HST. The Indica dominant genetics also tends to make for shorter bushier plants. When you switch to 12/12 and use more red spectrum lights and kick her some extra phosphorus she will show you what the word stretch means. 👍

So I want to keep lollipoping these girls for 2 reasons 1) Keep pest/mildew issues down 2) grow some big dank nugz. Question: how high is too high to lollipop? Given these girls are already short, should I be a few nodes down from each top? Send mr your recommendation 😁

Personally I would do some light defoliating and leaf tucking while in Veg and save the lolly popping for after you flip her into bloom and she stretches a bit. Only after she sets some bud sites would I strip the lower 1/3 of the plant of any fan leaves and micro buds sites that will never get enough light to amount to any thing. If you still have a few lower buds sites that don't look promising you can always nip them off up to mid bloom. Determining how much to lolly pop depends on the vigor of the plant since growing from seed each one is basically unique. I would still concentrate on shaping your plant until you are in bloom. Obviously if your considering lolly popping your more interested in the quality of the bud not the quantity which is the difference between a connoisseur of fine cannabis and a novice grower. Hope this helps.👍

If youve been following, my main girl hermiated. This girl has been flowering for 5 weeks with an 8-9 week flower expectation. Any reason why the pistils turned so early? Started to notice around week 3-4

Hopefully just genetics. When a bud gets pollinated, the pistils turn more dark brown and it looks a bit different. If the buds stop bulking up and putting on weight for a while AND orange hairs means it probably got pollinated. It isn't the end of the world and you should still have some awesome bud when she finished. Hermie isn't contagious (unless it's stress induced and you stress out all of your plants) so this one probably won't hermie and be able to push through fine. happy growing! 👊

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to check out my grow and answer my questions, such an awesome community here. It looks like she may have some bananas coming out of some buds now. @@motaman311 answered my question about the pistils turning earlier than most with maybe it was pollinated...might be a few bananas popping up now that i start looking. Will update soon!

@Underthestairsgrowbro, Sorry to hear that. Your plants look really healthy if that is any solace. I've had a couple hermie on me and the buds were still great. 🙏

@@motaman311, Im going to go with poor genetics. Ill keep the breeder nameless but they are cheaper seeds available in Canada. Out of 6 this is the lone survivor, even the 1 i gave to a friend died. Im hoping though that out of all the stress these have given me, this will produce some strong bud.

@Underthestairsgrowbro, did you find out the cause for the hermie??

Over stressing your plants with constant defoliation, lolly popping, Supercrop techniques can cause them to herm out on you.
Thundrfuk

@Philindicus, Yep learned that the hard way too. I was growing Purple Afghan Kush by Dinafem... anyways it got too tall for my space and I supercroped it everywhere, that and a small light change made her stress out too much and she grew sacks!
Underthestairsgrowbro

@Philindicus, I can see that now, i tried to keep the stress low during flower but I did beat her up during veg.

If you can get a descent photo of these bugs put it up and message me. If they are large enough to be taken off by hand I would do that if there are only a few.

@Underthestairsgrowbro, Reminds me of 20 years ago I was doing some outside vegetable gardening and I saw these black looking bugs with orange markings on the underside of some plants so I start pulling them off thinking they were bad bugs. Decided later to look online it turned out they were lady bug larvae which are the good guys. I was like wtf.👍

Hey my man. I am a first time grower aswell. Is your plant an autoflowering strain or a photoperiod? In week 5-6 you may want to start to switch to a 12/12 life cycle *IF IT'S A PHOTOPERIOD*. In case its an autoflower, let it be. In all cases, let her do her thing. It all kind of depends on when the flowering starts. If you want, feel free to check my diary. Until week 4 (or 5?) my plant was just about 10cm big. In one and a half weeks, it grew to 62cm of height. So just be patient and wait for her to start flowering, that is when she WILL stretch. A Lot ! And make sure to keep an eye on light distance during that time. Little side note: If you do not want to induce flowering yet and you still want the plant to grow a bit more in vertical height, stop bending the branches sidewards and raise the light a bit. But I wouldnt really know a reason for that, since she stretches a LOT automatically without any need for help during flower. Anyway, hope my review was a little helpful, cheers and happy grows :)

@@SimpleGreens, thank you for the tips! These were labeled as a photoperiod strain, but the LED i had them under did not have a good light spectrum for veg. I did train them vertical to try and work with my space constraints. I want to put 1 into my flower tent to see how she reacts, I have 1 more Meizhi light on the way.

my friend, if you know a bit of the background of the seeds you bought you should be pretty content, I would be. those bubba type plants are notorious for being slow as and being low yielders. one mans trash is another mans treasure

We lost the main girl, developed into a herm so i tossed it. Luckily ive had a girl in the flower room since beginning of September to see how they stretch. Ill be able to finish the journal with her. 1 thing ive noted is how quickly the hairs have turned color on her. Not very big nugs, but very sparkly.
Underthestairsgrowbro
Underthestairsgrowbroweek 5
So to answer my own question, my LED was stunting the growth due to an improper balance of light spectrum (at least thats my presumption). I could probably have watched them grow when they were introduced to the different light.
