Ordered these FastBud seeds from Seedsplug on the 1 Aug and got them in the mail on 8 Aug. Started germinating seeds using papertowel method on 8 Aug.

Hi guys, it's been a while but I'm back and starting a new diary it's already well into week two but late is better then never. I put these Blackberry Autos from FastBuds in 3 gal smart pots filled with Fox Farm Ocean Forest and a little extra Perlite. 5:1 ratio (btw, I got my seeds in only like 5 days after placing my order 👍👌 thanks FB super legit) I had a 4/4 germination success using the paper towel method. Plants 1&2 started germination on the 8th and sprouted out of the dirt on the 14th which is where I start counting. Plants 3&4 started germination on the 11th and sprouted out of the dirt on the 17th - so 6 days from seed to sproutling average. Lights are placed high enough to provide about 20k-25k lux (can't afford PAR meter so going with lux) At the moment I'm using an Advanced Platinum P300 LED and MarsHydro 300 LED in a 4x2x5 grow tent but next week I'm getting a 4x3x6 ft tent and in there I will use my P300 with a 400watt HPS and maybe supplement with the Mars Hydro LED if necessary. If you look at the two older plants (Plants 1&2) their leaves look sort of funky (especially Plant 1) and I think that is caused from heat stress during the first week of its life. It was a hot August and the grow tent regularly got into the mid 90's plus I had no fan circulating air (my bad). I hope they pull through now that I have things under control and things are a little cooler. I was originally only going to grow two plants but I thought maybe I F'd up with all the heat so I germinated 2 more seeds but now everything is under control and temps are better (mid 70's - low 80s) so I guess I'm growing 4 plants as I think even with the funky leaves they are still growing and will pull through. This is my first grow with purple genetics so excited to already see some color :D Since I'm using FFOF soil I will not be feeding until flower probably where I will use Terpinator and Advanced nutrients pH perfect Sensi Bloom parts A&B. I will likely use Growers Recharge all throughout the grow once a week and CalMag here and there since Im using RO water. Comment with any suggestions/observations/comments or just to say what's up! Thanks for checking my grow

Upgraded from a 4x2x5 tent to a slightly bigger 4x3x6 tent and got a new blurple cheap amazon grow light Plants 1&4 look diseased or mutated or something Plants 2&3 look good I don't think I'm going to be doing any trainning or anything on these girls as they are already beginning to flower and I dont think they will get as big as some of my other autos, the only one getting big is plant 1 the mutant freak and I can imagine those will be light airy buds if it makes it that far but we'll see as im going to let the funky plants live.

Not sure why 2 of my plants (on the right) are so messed up looking as they are all treated the same way (same soil FFOF) but from seedling the two on the right were having issues and now they are tallest with lots of space between nodes - Im not expecting much as far as yeild goes from those two but I figure Ill let them continue growing to see what happens. The two on the left look good and you can see purple color in their flowers. These plants are growing pretty fast as I only started germinating these seeds on the 8th of august and here it is 15 september and they already have buds begining to form. Just one picture for this update - with these blurple LEDs I have to pull them out to take decent pictures and I don't want to do that until there is some nice bud formation to show off so maybe couple weeks for the next set of good pics. Since they started flowing I fed them once with terpinator and use Recharge once weekly as I have from the beginning. I also hooked up the carbon filter because they are smelling

Week 5 Plant 1 - Although this plant is retarded as all hell it's producing bud very fast but I'm guessing they will be airy but looks like terpenes are developing and it's getting smelly so that's good. You can also see hues of purple all throughout the developing flowers. Plant 2 - This one has tight node spacing and looks to be growing decently well but no color on the bud sites however there is some purple color on the under sides of the lower fan leaves. Plant 3 - This girl is the only one that is hasn't been afflicted with retardation of some sort kind or another. It looks great so far and I love the colors on the flowers but I feel they are developing a little slow. Crossing my fingers this one puts out some decent nugs. I noticed rust spots on some of the leaves which may indicated cal deficiently so I added some in the feeding. Plant 4 - Absolutely depressing. When I lifted out of the tent to take pictures the fabric pot was heavy and soil still very moist even though I watered 2 days ago which tells me root development is poor. Most of the leaves are clawing indicating nitrogen deficientcy but this girl has been retarded since it first sprouted. I'm debating about cutting it down early but the little flowers it has is developing terpenes and I'm curious to see what I get if I let it go. So far this grow has been sort of frustrating. I use fox farm ocean forest with a little extra perlite but it appears as if this soil was too hot for these genetics as plant 1, 2, and 4 have been struggling since they first sprouted out of the soil. I treat all 4 of these plants exactly the same and I'm getting 4 completely different results which is very frustrating because I don't where I went wrong so I'm towards the conclusion that these particular genetics are just very sensitive to amended soil like FFOF and maybe next time I need to use a cocoa/rockwool seed plug or something so the first week of its life while sprouting it's not touching the soil yet. /shrug This is only week 5 so things are coming along fast but I worry I will only net a few ounces from this entire grow if I am lucky but we'll see,

everything is good to go, they are fattening up - just a couple more weeks. I harvested plant 1 last week, dried and smoked it all already, it was about 45gs but half of that went into wax /shrug, guess ill be out for a couple weeks until these are ready.

i cut down plant 4 and am smoking it now - its pretty good and does actually smell very berry-like after grinding it up. Ive saved these last 2 which looked the best for last and they got a week so im going to start flush then wait for them to dry out then harvest them. Lots of leaves are yellowing and many fan leaves easy to pick off, mostly cloudy trichs.

Happy Harvest Day!

I have two blackberrys and they are a little different from each other but I like both of them. They are both very purple but one of them is practically completely purple while the other just has lots of purp highlights. In 3gal fabroc pots with no training or topping or anything they grew to about 3ft tall with a nice solid main cola and decent chunky side colas - both these plants were easy to trim and didnt have too many leaves to cut off. I think its best to sprout these seeds and let them get a few days growth before introducing them to amended soil as I feel my fox farm ocean forest soil burned these when they were young. edit: im not able to change the rating but I would instead 9/10 give these a 6/10 because 4 out of the 5 seeds were retards...

Overall this grow was great but a little frustrating only because I started with 4 plants but 2 of them got a bad start and I believe that is from directly planting the seed into amended soil (FFOF) and I guess the soil was too hot with nutrients so it caused retardation on 2 of the 4 plants so I ended up cutting them down early but the 2 of the girls that made it through are awesome. They smell great, they taste great, they sqwish under ghetto hairstraightener rosin press and got 3 dabs off a nice nug. I got just about 9oz but if counting the early harvests which were together about 3oz then I totaled 12oz for this grow cycle which is freaking great considering how much I've invested.

Hey dude, plants 1 and 4 look like they have excess nitrogen and are "clawing" - perhaps the soil is too hot for them?
AvoidantGrower
AvoidantGrowercommented5 years ago
@stealthassassin, yea maybe the soil is too hot - I use fox farm ocean forest soil and havent fed them or anything and plants 2&3 are in the same soil so I dunno whats going on really
