Week 7
Looking beautiful this week! I did a fair bit of defoliation and I feel like that was a good call as it opened up the canopy and already I am noticing swelling and maturing beneath the tops. Soon These will fill out and increase the yield. Had to start tying up some of the colas and also tied a couple down away from the centre of the light to avoid burning. I am impressed with how big and healthy some of these plants managed to get with just a 5 week from seed veg time.
A couple of them would have outgrown the tent easily if I hadn't pulled them under the trellis early on. Glad I didn't veg longer, but if I had, and done a bit more LST, I think they would have stretched a bit less. In the future I will definitely utilise a longer veg with more intense training early on to ensure a more even canopy.
Also, removed one plant entirely (underperformance). Not sure why but it was just very leggy and overall would have produced less than an ounce of flowers.
Will upload more pics in a few days to demonstrate the effect of the 7th week defoliation.
As week 7 comes to a close, everything is putting on weight and the defoliation has played a big part in that. Much better airflow and the humidity is a bit more manageable as well. I think they can run another 2 weeks and that should fill them out nicely. For now, the plan is to begin flushing mid next week and give them a solid 10 day flush to really ripen up.
