-Topping of the healthy Mk. Ultra clone, and removed LST twine temporarily.
-Removing the failed Mk. Ultra clone from the original seed starter, cut the bottom, applied cloning solution, and replanted in a new container.
-Lemon Haze topping in a few days when the 4th node will grow a bit more.
-Worried about the space heater about shutting off sometimes and dropping the temperatures too low.
-Lemon Haze topped and growing nicely with 2 new growth shoots.
-Unknown #3 showing some kind of damage and stunted growth with prominent dentation on leaf margins
Lighting might be too intense for the young seedling.
-Light intensity reduced to 50% until Unknown #3 grows at least 2-3 more sets of leaves, then it will return to 75%.
-Unreliable space heater was replaced after failing and dropping the temperatures down to 11-14 degrees Celsius, space temps stand on constant 28-29 degrees.
-Stunted growth to Mk. Ultra and Unknown #1 after the heating failing and temperature drop
-Powdery mildew appeared on the Mk. Ultra, heavy defoliation and removing infected parts hopefully it wont come back.
-Nutrient burn and radiation damage on unknown #3, growing medium has been flushed with 3.5 liters of fresh tap water and pot was moved away from the lights for now.
-Lemon Haze will be transplanted to a bigger pot next week and will be reduced in height (and trained) to fit the grow room as a Sativa dominant
-Powdery mildew spreading on some of the older Mk. Ultra foliage, worried about it spreading the infected leaves were removed and plants were sprayed with neem oil and self-made organic insecticide solution.
-All of the Lemon Haze growth shoots were topped and tied down to spread out and fight the height and apical growth of this sativa
-I have attempted fimming on Unknown #1 hoping for 3-4 new growth shoots
-Unknown #2 had few large fan leaves removed for better light exposure and easier tying/spreading
-Light intensity raised to 65%
-Unknown #3 shows healthy new growth after suffering some nitrogen burns on the lower leaves and stunted growth, plant was flushed with 1/4 strength fertilizing solution.
-Mk. Ultra left to grow with current spread until ready to be topped again.
-Lighting raised 5cm to create more exposure for the bigger plants.
-Mk. Ultra with new fan leaves with 5 leaflets instead of 1-3 showing transition from flowering back to vegetative, main-lined it to spread it out and give it the best yield potential but still not expecting much due to the stress it sustained (from both transitioning and having grey mildew).
-Lemon Haze keeps growing rapidly and might force to flower earlier than planned. Tying down and keeping its height in control is the main focus right now.
-Unknown #1 with good results of the fimming and planning on "Super-cropping" it to test the benefits of this HST method (super-cropping will be done mid-week and results will be posted on the next one).
-Unknown #2 is very bushy and dense which makes me wait with the next topping as precaution to prevent mold and mildew when flowering.
-Unknown #3 is catching up and been topped over the 5th leaf node. hopefully she would be big enough by the time flowering starts.
-With the current progress and hopefully the Lemon Haze contained, flowering is planned in 1-2 weeks.
-Super-cropping unknown #1, first super-cropping attempt hopefully it'll show some good results.
-Unknown #2 defoliation to reduce density and mold risk, and to increase light penetration and airflow.
-Unknown #3 Catching up and showing signs of rapid growth in the past couple days, should be able to top it one last time before flowering.
-Lemon Haze looking monstrous and taking most of the growth space, I am trying to tie it down as much as possible to control its height in prep for flowering.
-Mk. Ultra last defoliation and tie downs before flowering.
-Light cycle changed to 12 hours of light to induce flowering forced by the size of the Lemon Haze taking most of the growth space.
-The Lemon Haze is showing around 80-100% Sativa characteristics/Phenotype with strong apical growth, narrow foliage, and relatively big distance between leaf/branch node.
-Lemon Haze moved away from the other females and left to mature a while more before the pollen will be collected for later use.
-Mk. Ultra stretching after switching the light cycle and inducing flowering, showing good results with the Main-Lining.
-Unknown #1 with amazing new growth after showing good results on the Super-Cropping and Main-Lining.
-Unknown #2 beefing up and growing thicker and larger every day especially after inducing flowering, stretching is more lateral than apical.
-Unknown #3 showing poor results, expected her to grow a little more in the flowering stretch. Probably suffered more stress than it showed during early veg and the climate in the grow space wasn't appropriate for this strain genotype.
-Expected yield has been significantly reduced after learning that the Lemon Haze is actually a male plant but pollen of an amazing, close to pure, Sativa specimen with great vigor, and strong stress resistance will be collected once the plant matures enough.
-Lowering temperatures and humidity for ideal flowering climate since the Lemon Haze turned out to be a male and separated from the rest.
-Raising fertilizer amount to half of what suggested for flowering and a bit extra from the micro and flowering fertilizers since Unknown #3 showed some signs of calcium and potassium deficiency early in the week.
-Mk. Ultra defoliated, and went through "Lollipopping" which is removing the bottom 30% of the foliage to increase airflow and hopefully prevent any more powdery mildew forming now which she had suffered before.
*Last coating of Neem oil and homemade organic pesticide will be applied on the second week of flowering.
-Unknown #1 is still stretching rapidly and had been defoliated to increase canopy light penetration and removing some smaller growth shoots that will later produce "popcorn" buds.
-Unknown #2 seems to have stopped stretching, she had a small stretch but the stems got thicker and more spread out so little defoliation was required for proper light penetration.
-Unknown #3 stretching and growing nicely, she is reacting great to the new growth conditions with more nutrients and colder climate.
-Flowering unknown strains came with a few surprises such as the extreme stretch on Unknown #1 but nothing too serious to affect yield (as long as Unknown #1 height will be kept under control)
-Mk. Ultra had stopped stretching and showing beautiful flower development without any deficiencies or burns.
-Unknown #1 with monstrous stretch (almost doubled the size!!) very unexpected when considering the phenotype of the plant, showed mostly "Afghanica"/"Indica" characteristics and thrived in their growth conditions but when flowering it had an extreme stretch typical for a "Sativa". I guess with today's hybrids its almost impossible to predict growth according to the phenotype.
-Unknown #2 had stopped stretching at the end of the first week of flowering and started to show buds a day or two later. Buds have little amounts of pistils but plenty of trichomes had already started to develop which shows great progress!
-Unknown #3 redeeming herself with amazing stretch and vigor after a change of diet. Her stretch had stopped a day in to the second week of flowering and she already started to show plenty of trichomes on the tops. Even with an expected lower yield I kept her because I wanted to experience plant distress (deficiency/toxicity/stress) to see how it can be identified and fixed.
-Fertilizing will slowly increase according to the plant's growth, current increase is around 10%-15% each week with an occasional 20%-25% increase, and keeping an eye out for any toxicities since it is very easy to overfertilize a flowering plant.
-Since I was not expecting Unknown #1 to stretch like she did, she was trained to spread out but now seems like it may cause some weight problems on the stems and will require staking.
**Mars Hydro lamp will be added to the current one due to difference in color temp, current one is 3500k and new one with 3000k which is more suitable for flowering and insufficient light intensity**
-Mk. Ultra with some organic fungicide residue that will be washed off in the next couple of days, hopefully the final treatment I'll need against the powdery mildew
-Another small fan added for more airflow to prevent any mold and mildew forming in late-flowering
-Unknown #1 turned out huge, with buds forming nicely and getting fat
-The Mars-hydro lamp set up at an angle so the light will reach all parts of the plants
-Unknown #2 with beautiful spread and with buds forming nicely
-Unknown #3 still small but with few tops forming and healthy growth!
-Buds are growing nicely with an amazing smell!
-Mk. Ultra showing signs of slight Nitrogen Abundance so "Grow" fertilizer has been reduced to mend this issue.
-Unknown #1 after her amazing stretch I was left with buds hanging high and not getting enough light so the QB has been raised an extra 8cm to increase light spread.
-Unknown #2 growing nicely with good progress and no issues so far
-Unknown #3 has started to show some Calcium Deficiency on foliage with irregular yellowing and chlorosis (burn), "Micro" fertilizer has been slightly increased while the "Grow" fertilizer has been reduced even more to compensate the Nitrogen in the "Micro".
-Overall the grow is going very well with slight hiccups that have not affected the growth too much.
*Harvest scheduled for week 6-7 into flowering but may change according to the plant's progress.
*all signs of powdery mildew have disappeared from the Mk. Ultra - seems like the new fungicide mixture worked!
-Mk. Ultra had Powdery mildew signs again...
-Found the culprit that is responsible for the unrelenting powdery mildew! Unknown #3 has been hiding small remnants of it on the lower foliage.
-Unknown #3 has been distanced from the rest of the plants and was given an application of my Fungicide as treatment.
-The whole grow room was sprayed with a thin layer of the fungicide and another layer will be applied tomorrow before the light cycle.
-Unknown #1 is growing beautifully with big dense tops!
-Unknown #2 is also growing very nicely but with less dense formation, lamp on that side of the room has been lowered by 10cm to compensate.
-Mk. Ultra has been treated for the powdery mildew and all severely affected foliage has been carefully removed.
-Unknown # still showing the Calcium deficiency, though with slower spread due to the increased "micro" dosage but not enough to stop it completely and resume proper normal growth. A Calcium additive will be added as soon as it arrives since I don't want to overuse the "micro" fertilizer due to it's high Nitrogen content compared to other micro/trace nutrients.
-Overall everything is coming along nicely besides Unknown #3 that was problematic from the first week. I already put too much effort into her to give up so I will keep her separated with manual irrigation until she is ready to be harvested or at least when she resumes her healthy growth.
-Cal-Mag additive has been finally added to the reservoir and improvement in all plants is shown!
-A new 5x5 tent with a 600w Vivosun HPS light and an SPF1000 intended as a flowering tent for the upcoming perpetual harvest setup attempt (the SPF1000 will be replaced with another 600w HPS soon).
-Unknown #1 and the Mk. Ultra were moved from the 4x4 tent to the bigger one and were placed under overlapping individual lighting (Unknown #1 under the HPS and the Mk. Ultra under the LED) for a
more efficient light spread and strength than the smaller tent with uneven canopy.
-Unknowns #2 and #3 we're left in the smaller tent and the current lights were lowered to adequate distance from canopy for the most efficient light exposure.
-For Unknown #1 and the Mk. Ultra there's about 1-2 weeks until harvest depending on trichome development and bud growth during that time.
-Unknown #2 developing extremely strong and sweet pineapple smell, buds are also getting thicker every day!
-Unknown #3 can finally recover from that horrible deficiency she was suffering from and focus on flowering.
-Overall the plants recovered pretty quick and are showing signs of growth already after the disaster happened last week.
*A new diary will be uploaded soon with the progress of the new setup and the mother plant selection between random female seeds I have!
Overall good strain but it was the main cause of the powdery mildew outbreak so I'd say it's quite susceptible to fungi and disease but can't really determine it from a single grown clone.
Unfortunately I had a Powdery mildew outbreak in my grow space, in both tents, the Mk. Ultra, Unknowns #2 and #3 were infected. The Mk. Ultra and Unknown #3 more severely,
had to carefully remove all infected areas of the plant leaves and buds then harvested what's left.
Only Unknown #1 left in the big tent after taking her out, removing a few infected areas on her and cleaning her, then sanitizing the whole grow space with isopropyl 70% and cycling the air for about half an hour before putting her back in for another week or two until the real harvest.
Unknown #2 although harvested prematurely she had extremely dense buds and insanely sweet in smell resembling pineapple.
Unknown #3 was quite a poor harvest with a problematic plant from the start.
Mk. Ultra has a little skunky earthy smell to it and the buds are quite sticky.
All buds were hung upside down in the dark under these conditions:
18-19 Degrees Celsius,
45-50% humidity,
and a fan blowing indirect air to provide airflow.
Other than slight mold susceptibility CropKingSeeds supplied me with great feminized variety seeds! beautiful flowers, amazing size and great endurance given the poor conditions they were in before moving into the tents.
Unfortunately the powdery mildew has got the Unknown #1 as well so I harvested her and cleaned the buds before being placed in the big tent for drying while the new seedlings are getting ready to be transplanted and tested out!
Overall big dense buds on the top and some popcorn buds from the bottom of the plant, earthy pungent smell with plenty of sparkling beautiful trichomes.
Final result of 7.5 Oz of dry cured bud.
Unknown #1 with amazing cheesy smell and earthy smooth taste.
Unknown #2 has incredibly sweet taste and smell.
Mk. Ultra smokes smooth as hell with some fast hitting highs.
Unknown #3 although small she packed a punch with the tightest buds and the strongest high.
@Igrowneil, Thanks dude! and yeah number 3 is having some Calcium issues for quite a while now, been waiting on my calcium additive to be delivered.
Also had quite a few issues in the past week that I will update soon!
I always see you answering peoples grow questions and I have to say you are very well articulated and educated. I'm only on my third grow but I'm learning a lot and having so much fun while doing. You have your own place in the community and I'm glad to be apart of it 🙏
@TopNotchBud, Proud to be part of this community as well! and thank you so much!! you have no idea how much I appreciate you saying that!
I try my best to answer as many questions as possible from my experience and knowledge just to prevent new or even experienced growers from making the same mistakes I made over the years, because no one likes to see their plants suffering!
Btw your grow is looking crisp!👽
Your set up is what I'm looking to get to very soon , amazing looking grow pal I see where all your experience is , and thank you once again for saving my grow as my N defenices would have gotten worse as I thought I was dealing with to little P K , thank you for all the help
