Started a Dinafem Big Kush to go along side the Chitral kush in the tent as two of the autos are getting chopped.
To replace the other two that need an extra 2 weeks, next week ill be popping 2 Mendocino madness as they're regular and I expect one to be male, they were only regular seeds and supposed to be extremely fast. They'll probably get up to 45-50 days of veg time so we'll see how fast they actually flower. As well as a Great White Shark fem from greenhouse seeds. That'll be the next four.
Forgot to upload a picture of last week, nothing out of the ordinary. While the other seedlings were germinating and complaining about the humidity levels this plant pushed through like a trucker. Doesn't seem to mind the environmental conditions which is a good sign coming from a big breeder like this
Looking fantastic. Nice and short, wide leaves, and already putting out the start of little branches. A perfect Indica so far. If it lives up to the name big Kush it should be a real stinky winner, and being a dinafem seed I think it will!
Nothing of real mention yet. Going strong nothing but water. Good branching and nice wide leaves should be a nice big Kush. Fantastic structure, if I didn't top it would've grown into a nice Xmas tree shape by the looks of it.
Plant is growing nice, repotted it last week. And it is recovering from the topping well. Seems to be stretchy, must get it from the skunk side, wonder if she's gonna be smelly.
This plants name is Big Kush and it's a Dinafem seed so I assume it has some good size genetics so I'm not sure how I want to train this one. Debating whether I should let her go, tying down lightly; or scrog her. I don't want many small side buds and I want all my main colas to be even so they all end up being nice, symmetrical and big.
D29: moved into the tent with the 1000w HPS and the autos.
D30: She's liking the repot. Caught some roots already finding their way through the drainage holes. Nice growth and still stretching.
D32: looking real happy with the new pot and the 1000w HPS. New growth everywhere.
D33: Foliar fed with homemade fermented fish fertilizer. Love this stuff. Took a whole fish from the discount area at the store, about a lb. With bones but no guts. Sliced into chunks and blended up. Added a bit of water, a half cup of unsulfured molasses, and two probiotic caplets. The probiotic contains a few different strains of Lactobacilli, causing fermentation. Keep the jug it's all in cracked or burp it a few times a day as the bacteria release CO2 and can make the container explode.
It's done when it smells like vinegar and not so much fish
This cold fermented fish is then strained and bottled, and placed into the fridge. Super concentrated fish hydrosylate.
D34: misted with fish again, tied her down too. She sure is stretchy but has a nice branching structure, I bet during flower she'll stretch even more. Nice big dark leaves
D35: so far so good. Started training her down to let the bottom branches catch up. Thinking of mainlining but she already has 8 branches and is putting out side branches profusely. This one very kush looking except for the stretchiness, she looks like she'd benefit from a scrog.
D37: she hit puberty and has become a mature woman. She put out her preflowers meaning she's a full adult and ready to go. Will transplant to the 10 gallon at the end of the week, veg in the big pot for two weeks and then maybe it'll be flower time. Roughly a month from now, about 60-70 days veg.
D39. She was dropping a little which I took to mean that she was root bound. Had a good amount of roots at the bottom of the pot, so I transplanted to the 10 gallon. Ended up losing the ties holding her training in place.
D42: She looks like she was responding to the switch to the hps tent by going into flower, but I pulled out my last flowering plant and switched the bulb to MH so it'll be interesting to see if she revegs now of if she keeps trying to flower. I had a plant do this before and I ended up chucking it because it got confused and stopped growing.
She's got tonnes of nodes now though, pulled four fan leaves from the main stem to open up the insides to light and due the half attempt at mainlining at a young age she's got weird posture and lots of branches.
Gave her a feed of organic grow.
D47: another feed of organic grow and humid acids. Some more lst, and picked four leaves off that were blocking nodes.
D48: looked like she took almost the whole week to look like she recovered from the transplant shock. The lst yesterday made everything real nice and even. I think I'll keep tying her down and when all the branches reach the same height I'll change the tent to flower.
D49: everything is going great. She's got two levels of LST Going on, when everything becomes even I think is when it'll get switched to flower
D51: misted with fish
D53: counted 23 possible branches if I was to flower now.
D54: way more than 23. A little more LST last night and it looks good this morning. I'm happy with how this looks, I think I will let all my branches grow up an inch or two then flower! Probably end of next week or so which would actually end up being close to a 60 day veg.
D57: responding to training very well. Will take some clones later this week before switching the tent to flower next week maybe. Will be installing my screen later this week too in anticipation of stretching in the coming weeks. Watered with a glug of organic grow today just because.
D62: switched the tent to flowertwo days ago. gave it a spray of fish and a glug of organic grow. Nice and green still, noticed the slightest bit of growth the last few days
D63: switch the tent to flower on day 60, seems slower to switch then the other plant. Still nice and dark, healthy Green. My screen should be in tomorrow or Tuesday which is good because I expect some stretch.
D65: fed a small amount of organic grow.
D66: screen went in.
D68: forgot to water yesterday so they were a little droopy. Gave her a little organic grow and humid acids today. Also a week into flower and we have nice little buds appearing.
D69: hehehe 69. Growth points all bright green. Getting ready for that stretch.
D72: stretching slowly. Wondering if she'll have a big burst or just go slowly like this. Showed hairs faster than the other plant. Looking nice so far.
D73/F11: gonna start labelling days by flowering time. Also switched my bulb from MH to HPS last night, already seeing some brighter green as the plants are ready to explode.
F13: watered. Added a bit of fish fert to one of the gallons.
F16: growing nicely. Slowly stretching and putting on hairs.
F18: was a little droopy this morning as I've been away for work for two days. Not bad but the inner leaves were starting to show some thirst. Gave it a shot of organic bloom nutes to go with the water.
F20: not sure if there's much stretching left but it didn't really expand much. Only had to tuck each branch under the net once
F23: it seems like her pistils are fatter than I'm used to seeing which is neat. The other plant is flowering much faster but this one has more nodes.
F28: 4 weeks flower done. Still growing nicely but she's yellowing and doesn't really respond to nutrients so I'll just assume this is all natural reorganization as she's pumps it into her buds.
F30: figured out it was the low af humidity causing the yellowing leaves. The plant is just sucking up a gallon of water a day and I can't seem to keep it happy. I think giving it a dose of bloom nutes to try and stop it was a mistake.
Based on how she's been responding I think growing this strain in some form of hydro would really make her shine. If I had a bubble bucket I'd take a clone but I don't so I'm not. Really nice growing plant, pretty standard.
Since all my pots are up on little stands I just dump a bunch of water in the bottom of my tent and it raises the humidity up about 15-20%. Hovering around 40% now.
F37: uploading some pics of the whole tent as well.
with Christmas coming up this week I'll be gone on holidays so I set up an automatic watering system. it is just a pump and some drippers hooked up to a timer to run for 1 minute every morning. The cactuses should be fine without water, and the cannabis should be fine with a little bit every morning. I think I'll give a weak fertilizer of some organic Bloom and some fish fertilizer to give them something to munch on this week
The pistils are so thick on this plant and still White. I still think this plant would do best in Hydro but it seems to be thickening up a little bit now. The byds look nice and dense and if they fluff up in the last couple weeks it should be a really heavy haul.
D47:
I've been slacking on keeping my humidity up and she started turning yellow again. Doesn't seem to appreciate below 40%. It's a nice plant, looks super dense and the hairs are huge, but I think she's not gonna be where I want her to be so I'm thinking this whole plant will be turned into hash.
F53: been giving it low amounts of either fish or organic bloom nearly every watering. Wishing I had some coffee grounds bokashi to add as I feel it could use it. Been fading slowly for a while; and while it's slower now that I've been keeping an eye on the humidity every other day it shocks me at how yellow she's getting.
Very impressed, almost done. She will get chopped when the great white shark is done drying. I removed the net last night and now she looks all scraggly.
She has a very nice shape to the buds and I think they would have been huge if I grew in hydro.
F66: Only a couple days left for this lady. She's been withering fast the last week or so. All green faded and it's a bright yellow, with some nice red on the bud and in the veins.
Grow in organic soil so I don't flush, but she recieves nothing but water anyways.
Probably chop day 68-70
73 days of flower and it's the end.
She withered so fast the last week or so, sucked all her green out and showed some beautiful fall colours.
Seemed pest resistant as the thrips in my tent never really damaged this plant.
I think she would have done so incredibly well in hydro compared to soil however.
Forgot to update. Ended up with 120 grams dry and took only about six and a half days. Very nice calyx to leaf ratio makes it an easy trim. Smells very lemony a little floral. I think the screen was a good idea for this plant, I ended up with a bunch of really nice top buds. Probably about a dozen nice 6g buds
Grew nice and now she's dead. I'll update next week after the trimming is done and she's all jarred up. Hope she comes out with a nice smell after curing, she smelled like blueberries when I chopped her, kind of like the Blue Dream I had grown.
see the above comments, but she grew very nice and I think the screen was a good choice. Ended up with about a dozen 6 gram buds with nice bag appeal, and a bunch of other good buds totalling 120 g
I don't see many grows with our Big kush and I don't know why 😏
She's a very easy to grow and maintain strain and produces some Fire 🔥 end product 💪
You look to be off to a nice start buddy 👊
Let's see what you can do with this overlooked Dinafem girl 🤗
Good luck my friend 👍
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, By humidity I mean the lack thereof; can't get over 45-50%. The three I have going, Mendocino madness, Big Kush, and Great white shark are all getting grown out. Also thinking about putting a Dinafem auto sour diesel in the tent so I have all 4 plant I'm allowed. Depends on how big I let these get before flowering though.
@ZalySk, She's super tolerant to high humidity mate in the vegative stage but be careful in bloom as she produces some super densely structured flowers 🤗
Are you growing all 3 ladies out my friend? or are you picking the best out of the3?
All the best ✌️
Mark..
By the look of things another 7 day's and it will be harvest time for our Big Kush 🤗
She a packed on some serious weight over the festive season 👌
Not long now my friend 👊
All the best ✌️
Mark..
@DinafemSeeds, that's the plan! I'm harvesting my other plant today and it'll dry for a week or so, then when that ones done drying this one will get hung up. Likely next Monday or Tuesday!
Tell me about the recipe of your solo! I make my won super soil, with more than 30 compounds! But I believe I over do that... I dunno...
After my supersoil is ready, I put around 15% perlite, 20% coco coir, 30~50% super soil, rest with worm casting.
It's like a super bomb for the roots, but I feel like I need to water with nute, some get nitrogen def. I must consider that I grow a lot of different plants on it, from cactus to basil.
Also i never measure pH, as it's broken. I do believe my living soil balance that.
