10 Sugar Breath feminized seeds were gifted to my bro @HjelmVapor and I by @Humboldt_Seed_Organisation for a friendly Brother vs Brother indoor growoff.
HjemVapor has loaded and sprouted the seeds in Grodan cubes (which I hate and never have great success with)
They will stay with him for a couple of weeks until my current harvest is dried and we will split them between us.
Good news is 100% germination as of last night.
Both of us use LED and tents
I will be using Cyco Platinum Series bottled nutrients.. I believe he will be using Advanced Nutrients.

Wish us luck and a huge, sugary harvests :)
I picked up my Sugar Breath baby girls yesterday. Pretty safe to assume the girls are root bound right now and will get a transplant into at least a 1gallon pot before going into 7gallon pots.
Here we have seeds #3, 4, 7 of 10 seeds popped at my brother's house ( @HjelmVapor ). He will be running the rest under luminous COBs.
I will be running 4 Chiled Logic.v3 led Pucks with 3 Vero led COBS...roughly 700watts in my 2x4 tent.
I will be using CYCO PLATINUM SERIES nutrients, with the possible addition of a couple of ADVANCED NUTRIENTS items that I still have available to finish bottles (Nirvana,VooDoo Juice ect)
We have really been looking forward to growing these seeds which were gifted to us by the mighty HUMBOLDT SEED ORGANISATION ( @Humboldt_Seed_Organisation ) for a friendly grow-off........ Hoping my brother @HjelmVapor, who is terribly busy with his start-up business has time to do weekly updates of his grow....
Anyhow, my Diary should be weekly from here on out .......
Heres to wishing for fat, greasy, dark, sticky, stinky, tric covered +26%thc big badass budz of SUGAR BREATH !!!👊💪
Girls like their new shoes and are growing well. I let them dry pretty good and gave them this pretty heavy feed today. Really pushing the root zone growth is my objective this grow.
I topped the main cola on each plant a few days back. They have responded well.
Lighting is pretty intense so there is not much upward stretch. Side branches are racing to the top of canopy.
Dropped the EC to 1.9 . Noticed my leaves were getting dark green and do not want to burn these girls so early. A couple of the large fan leaves have signs of "The Claw" but things should go fine now without permanent damages..
Had some mixed feed left over from yesterdays watering....checked the PH before using it today and noticed a swing from 6.2ph to 6.7ph. Beware when mixing ahead of time.
It wont be long now before I transplant up and into 7gallon fabric pots. The girls are transpiring quickly now.
Transplanted up the the 7gallon fabric bags and dusted the medium and roots with powdered microbes. Still using ProMix HP and may switch to CocoCoir next run.
Everything went well. I tied down a few bottom branches and may do another topping but deciding on whether or not to put in a trellis and scrog is still up in the air.
I really like the ability to move my pots, which you cant do with the netting involved but I also dont like how many bamboo sticks I need to use during flower when buds get heavy.......It will be figured out by next week.
Feeding still with Cyco Nutrients and all looks well. Ladies are thirsty in these photos, trying to grow roots.
One girl is larger than the others #7
Check out my bro @HjelmVapor , we are doing a tent hunt/LED grow off with Sugar Breath
Been feeding lightly and keeping my lighting at around 75% of full power. It has been getting cold at night time which stunts the early "morning" growth. I have to get something under the pots to get rid of the floor contact, which is cold.
I put down a trellis because one plant has stretched more than the others and I'd like to keep the canopy even without having to top that one girl again.
The main stem into the soil is thickening up and there is minimal upward growth. Lateral growth is kicking in which means my roots are stretching...and that makes me happy.
I have done almost zero defoliation.
I am itching to flip but really have planned to veg this run out much longer....but its sooooo hard not to. I should hold off another two weeks at least.
Two big drinks last week which really perked the little ladies up. I'm thinking another week or so until the flip.
Going to take a clone of each plant also, just in case there is a real winner :)
Plants seem healthy with no real signs of distress or inadequacies. I've been LST the tops with some bends. The middle plant has been stretching the most, and overall its growth is accelerated.
Last VEG stage update. Lights set for 12/12 tomorrow.
Took some clones of the center plant only, which has been outgrowing the other 2 plants significantly.
Did a major defoliation (and clones) 4 days ago. Been LST the girls under the trellis.
Everything is green, no signs of issues.
The two outside plants are just slower and another week of veg isnt going to help them "catch up" so I'm going into Flowering. Hopefully the center plant I cloned will be killer :)
still waiting on @HjelmVapor to update his diary...fkkr :P
its been a little over a week since last Diary input due to Christmas holidays. These pics were taken 10 days after the first 12/12 lighting or the last Veg stage Diary update.
The plants are budding very strongly and have stretched around 6 inches. I have added another trellis netting to help support colas when they come (hopefully huge ones)
As before, the center girl has kept outgrowing, outstretching the outside plants even though lighting is intense everywhere. There is much more PPFD inside this tent than recommended for a 2x4, so I know it is pure genetics for this one plant.
There is no signs of any suffering, disease, or pests.
My clones did not fair so well. They were abused with improper lighting and over wet cubes. Only ONE may still survive but Im not holding much hope out for it even though it is showing a tiny root today.
Cyco Platinum nutrients seem to be working very well. I am still supplementing with a few chosen Advanced Nutrients which I still had in my stock and feel they are good products which are not doubled by the Cyco products.
All in all we are off to a great flowering cycle.
Plants are taking up 3gallons of liquid every 24-36 hours, which is around normal in my experiences and will continue to do this until I decide to defoliate during flowering.
Humboldt Seed Organisation has worked this line into a very healthy plant. Thank you for these seeds.
Lost an update week during chirstmas and new years..sorry if you are folowing.
Everything went well though, no real news, just growth, and stretching.
All in all looks well.
The girls are roughly half way through budding. Time to stop the Potash and start Swell and Supa Sticky.
The stretch has stopped and I am starting to notice some trics on the far left plant on the sugar leafs.
There is a bit of discolouration due to nighttime temps getting low...I cannot fix this without major money or a new grow area so it is what it is and I am used to this every winter.
There should be a decent yeild judging by the bud sights I have right now, considering there is a month at least to travell.
Sorry about the late updates if you are a follower, I was in Cuba on vacation and my niece took care of watering for me.
Its been getting very cold at nighttime. You can see the colour change mostly in the center plant. The temp swing is defiantly causing the plants to suffer in growth but they are still moving along. Indoor growing (to perfection), costs a lot of money in equipment, so I just do my best with what I have.
There has been quite a bit of yellowing of lower fans, which is fine with me because it is mostly natural loss. I know they are getting plenty of Nitrogen, The loss leaves do not look sickly or spotted or anything indicating issues. No bugs, no mold or mildew. I have roughly two weeks of nutrient feed time left. I will blast the plants once at 2.3ec this week and fade back from that.
Seems nobody is following or commenting anymore these days which is sad. This use to be a decent community of growers.
As for the "grow-off" I guess @HjelmVapor cant be bothered to keep up his end of the bargain, Sorry Mark @Humboldt_Seed_Organisation but thanks again from me for the seeds. Trying my best over here.
Things look pretty good. Trics are coming in now. Plants have a fuel smell. There is a bit of more colour change, its been cool at night time. Some more fans have withered due to age, which I find normal. There are no pests, no mold, no strange signs of troubles. Ive been dropping my PH to 6 and 6.1 and feeding with every watering. Todays watering was a very heavy 2.4EC but from now onward I will stay at 2 or under.
Removed a few withering fan leaves. Girls are getting close to the end of feed. there is roughly 2 weeks left until harvest date.
Plants are getting quite colourful now, and more scent. They smell of sweet fuel.
The trichome production isnt bad, pretty much the same as any other plants I've grown but I was expecting more frostiness to be showing by now considering this is supposedly a 26%thc strain. I'm sure this will get me stoned as fuck still but as a grower I was hoping for that instagram coked-out leaves everyone else seems to grow LOL
All in all, they are heathy, no pests and still drinking well. I had thelast two feeds at 2.3ec and now will drop to lower 1's and then start flushing in around a week.
Flushing with Flawless Finish here on out starting today. The 3 girls are looking ripe now. They smell of sweet fuel.
I was expecting fatter buds to be honest, but these seem fairly dense, and the colours are beautiful.
I microscoped the sugar leaves last night. There is hardly any clear trics left, yet very little amber ones, so I'm sure I'm roughly a week out until harvest day give or take a day. The girls grew decently during flower but are starting to show signs of stress, and age.
Middle and left side plants have purpled, yet the far right plant remains green fading to yellow
There will be no 24/48 hours of darkness.....I have tried that and did not see ANY improvements.
There will be no Ice Cube Flush...I tried that and also did not see any improvements.
Well, next week's update will be final shots before harvest.... YAY! Cant wait to smoke some SUGAR BREATH!
Its over. The ladies are chopped and hung inside the tent today. Relative Humidity is 35% which is very low.
They will hang solid with only fan leaves removed for a couple of days before I break them down into stalks. I am afraid they will dry too fast so I am going to crack the window in the room to drop the temperature.
The far left plant purpled out, has the most trics and is the most pungent of the 3.... Strangely enough though, during growth I figured it would be the weakest plant because it was shortest and smaller.
The center plant which stretched most and turned purple first, smells much like the far left plant with less punch. She has more bud growth.
The far right plant only very slightly purpled, has the thickest colas and much less gaseous scent, It mostly stayed greenish.
There wont be much more to report besides the final harvest. I am thinking there will be roughly 400grams of dry, trimmed bud to cure.
This plant was easy to flower and could have taken a bit higher EC during the beginning of flower.
I had no issues with this grow. I am dissapointed with the final outcome though. I used premium nutrients and lighting and the cured bud is not very potent. HSO claims 26%thc... I think this is around 18% for the best plant which was the lady on the far left.
I had some lower/larfy bud from right plant which was not cured tested by chance....it was 11%thc 2%CBD according to the Purple Tester
This bud did not get very resinous, and is light on the smell. I dry trimmed it lightly and didnt dig into the buds much... Its personal stash, not for sale so I dont care about "Bag appeal".
Does it get me high...Yes
Does it smoke good...Yes
Does it make your friends want to take free buds home...Yes
Can I sell it at $10/g ...No Way
I have been growing for a few years now and understand that when you get a pack of seeds, its a craps shoot on what you'll end up with. Even in the early stages of growth I figured the Left plant would be the crud plant, and I was wrong. Although it was smallest, it produced the best and biggest buds by far.
Would I grow this strain again indoor...No, not by seed, perhaps a pheno hunted clone then yes.
Once again, seeds are a craps shoot.
girls look stressed the last couple of days....wilty leaves as if they are thirsty. I think it is rootzone growth moreso than shock.
Not concerned, Im sure they will be just fine in a few more days.
@CRiSPrGrow, thanks for the support! Its been hard in the past to give extended Veg time... Every growmie wants to see their buds flowering and pull that 12/12 trigger is so hard to refrain from. :)
Best of luck with the grow my friend and thank you for choosing our Gorilla Breath for this adventure 🤗
Your of to a nice start mate, keep it up 👍
With love from Humboldt County ✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
Awesome grow my friend, im currently in week 2 with my Sugar Breath! Its my first grow so hopefully they come out as beautiful as yours! Thanks for all the detailed updates weekly.. really gives me confidence and some breathing room when making sure im not killing mine haha my green thumb is still distant.
@Hellhazard, Thankyou, i will need it! I made quite the investment and did alot of research for my build..so im feeling somewhat prepared. The hardest part so far has been crafting a reservoir that was low profile enough for my ceiling height for an ebb and flow. Made sure i got a good TDS and PH tester. Running Growers Choice ROI-E680 up top with an AC Infinity T6 with a 6x16 carbon filter in a 4x4.
@Pot_Portraits,Even when things dont turn out perfect, its still your own grown pot. Best part is there is no questioning what went in it, or on it, or around it :)
Hey, I just found your grow.
You have a great setup - my ideal setup all the way down to the HSO Sugar Breath haha.
Following your pregress now, all the best.
Some nice steady growth with our Sugar Breath 🤗
Another 2 weeks of vegative growth and it will be time for the flowering fun 🤘
Looking good in here 👍
With love from Humboldt County ✌️
Kind regards

@Ga4rd2en0er, At this point in time I would not purchase COBs and go straight to the Chiled Logic pucks or to the quantum boards. Both are built with Samsung diodes of high caliber as far as I know for growers, by growers. Anything found on Amazon is likely snake oil that will either under perform, or be expensive, or be a super cheap pile of garbage.
When I purchase grow equipment I pull out the scales of justice and weigh my pros/cons based on what I can achieve as a final result in harvest vs how much money it would have cost me to purchase cannabis.... Usually you make your moneys worth back in one harvest and anything after that is all money you've saved into your own bank.......and Im not even talking about selling harvest, just what I havn't had to purchase.
@Hellhazard, I was torn between the growmau5 and the qb288s. Glad to see the in the wild an not just his youtube channel. Nice build. I'm just getting into diy this run and retired my china cheapo LEDs
@Ga4rd2en0er, It is a DIY build, but the entire system can be purchased at Rapidled .com. I started off a couple of years ago with 5 COBs. I then switched out 2 cobs for 2 pucks on my last grow. This grow I got 2 more Pucks and another driver. Now running 4 pucks, 3 Cobs on one rail with 2 drivers :)
It's time to see what our Gorilla Breath can do in flower mode 🤗
Good luck my friend and happy New year from Humboldt County🤘👊🙏
Kind regards ✌️
Team-HSO..
@Hellhazard, Sorry mate my mistake 😑
Sugar Breath looking fantastic, check out those colours coming through 🤗
Keep the updates coming as harvest is approaching fast mate 🤘
With love from Humboldt County✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
I'm very disappointed to read that our Sugar Breath has let you down 😑
The end product does look really nice. Pretty colours and a decent crystal coverage 👍
May I ask. Did you have the end product lab tested to get the THC/CBD results?
Again, sorry this strain let you down!
Kind regards ✌️
Team-HSO..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, No, I did not have the end results lab tested..... I had a few lower buds on me from center plant when I went to the local hydro supply store. A sales person happened to come in with a new testing device (Purpl Pro)....We ground and tested it.
It was still somewhat damp, I'd say around 65% RH and I know that alone would make a poor result.
Other buds he tested were dry (from other people and different strains) some tested 22%, 18%, 23%
This will not prevent me from using Humbolt Seed Org products...I am working on getting OGKZ started as we speak, from seed.
@HjelmVapor, Looks like we finally finished this "grow-off". There were many hurdles that hurt the final outcome but its not a perfect world right bro!
@Hellhazard Have you harvested our Sugar Breath buddy?
The last picture's look like pure 🔥
Enjoy 🤗
With love from Humboldt County✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
They are really going to appreciate that extra medium to spread those roots out 🤗
Done at the perfect time 👍
Have you started to add feed yet or just water my friend?
With love from Humboldt County ✌️
Kind regards
Team-HSO..
@Humboldt_Seed_Organisation, When plants are this tiny, I only use 1/4 strength nutrients. The girls have perked up now, so transplant into 1.5gallon pots went well. Today will get another small watering with feed.
