I gave her a heavy soak on Friday, Dad femmed her on Sat. today is Sunday and she's really shown growth in such a short amount of time.
I've always expected the photo period plants to move more slowly and so far mu first two photos have really surprised me with their hearty growth spurts.
Easy week. She's been a happy girl so far. Big beautiful wide leaves and she's actually passed up any auto close to her age. Being my 1st photo I'm not sure what to expect.
I gave her a heavy soak on Friday, Dad femmed her on Sat. On Thursday we took two cuttings and began to prep 3 gl bag for transplant when we know that she's not shocked from cutting.
I've always expected the photo period plants to move more slowly and so far mu first two photos have really surprised me with their hearty growth spurts.
on 10-4 we decided to transfer her from 1 to 3 gal pot. Transplant didn't go quite as smoothly as 1st but no obvious root problems occurred.
The next day or so we noticed her leaves drooping and lightening of the lower leaves.
Not having any previous experience with photo period plants means that transplanting them was something we knew very little and had no experience with.
This is where the internet can help or really hurt you.
Rather than overcorrecting we just decided to give her a tad more air and top dress with a little organic love. After topping I gave her a cup of water because she was still heavy but I wanted to get food to her asap.
I dont know if the food, air, or if just time but something has helped because she's now keeping her color and getting tons of new growth.
Of course I forgot to mention that to add to the possibility of it being just shock, dad had just took two cuttings from her 2 days prior to the transplant and it may have also contributed to her shock or condition (whatever her diagnosis).
Keeping my eyes on her and hopefully her clones will take off soon. They're 1 week old and still green and standing so I'm thinking they may just survive.
So after the shock stress ordeal she began to recover and now she's gained some of her chlorophyll back in her foliage.
The growth has been nice and even but I dont believe that her 1st cuttings will have success being clones.
Keeping an eye and hoping that I can figure it all out.
Wow!!! What a week its been.
After experiencing some transplant shock I decided to give her some nutrients to help boost her back up.
On 10/16/19 (which was the next day btw) she seemed to had faded even more since the prior day and of course I get the cal/mag support out and gave her 1/3 of the recommended dose (this was what I was told to do btw lol).
All I can say is that we ALWAYS NEED TO TEST RUNOFF when we can, especially when feeding because I almost killed or harmed her badly.
She was running an overflow PH of 7.78 which is 2 over what it was going in.
We used the fresh cool rain water with a PH of 5.2 and flushed her nonstop until her PH came down to 6.0 but it took 9 gallons of water to get it down that low.
Ever since her flush shes been at 150% and we were even able to take two cuttings from her in hope of creating more of these girls.
Today dad decided to super crop her for the 1st time to see if itll help keep her short. I can only top and raise lights so much so we are looking into new techniques to keep her short like Gold Leaf.
I'm in complete shock in how tall these guys really get.
I'd love to see 1 outside in its natural environment.
This weeks she got a little calcium from a liquid supplement and nitrogen from an organic fish fertilizer that had a higher % than the other supplements. Also, I think its the nitrogen I've been mistaking for magnesium deficiency because since I've only given nitrogen her yellowing has stopped and improved and no signs of new burns.
Since the cuttings have taken were expecting a few clones of the girl to be grown here shortly.
After running out of space, our 1st photo has given us the pleasure of raising the entire lighting fixture so she can have 10 feet instead of 6.
After only raising autos, I am in complete shock by the intense size of these girls. Our gold leaf seems to be a little more on the stout side but this Banana kush plant is so beautiful and strong. From her stalks thickness to the height she reaches in a short amount of time, this girl is a hearty and happy woman!!
I'm just having problems keeping my patience while I wait for clones to take, grow, then flower when she's only a baby herself but I know that she'll be worth it just because of the immense THC vs almost nonexistent CBD ratio.
What can I say, she's growing like a weed...
After 2 weeks of nail biting we officially have clones!!
2 possibly 3 have root. Very happy and now looking forward to send her into flower so that I can taste BK for the 1st time.
Oh yea, and before I forget I will be raising the lights in a bit because her growth will keep catching up.
All she had this week was water and a little nitrogen in some funky fish fertilizer.
No news is good I guess.
Added 11/03/19-
We decided to add a tea to the feeding regimen.
This isnt new to us but when we started we used the teas and although our yields and potency have gotten better with experience, we notice that our flavors aren't as distinct as they were in the 1st few grows. The only thing that we changed was taking the teas out and using nonorganic nutes.
So now that we are going back to organic gardening (just got some of the best organic food on market) we wanted to add the tea in as well.
The tea consists of black strap molasses, our worm castings (worms mostly fed cuttings and all organic), and a little organice fish fertilizer (which I call fish funk for the smell) . After 24-36 hours the tea will be given to my babys.
This week was easy.
I have finally accepted that she prefers a PH of 6.2 over 5.7 and since then she seems to be happier.
I do however now, give supplements with every feeding no matter if it's fox farm, casting tea, or just an organic supplement because in this particular medium we need more nutritional content added.
Run off is at a 6.8.
So far she has proven a good mother as she's had several cuttings to actually take but 2 are not only alive but thriving as a clone.
Cant wait to see her flower
This week my girl showed her strength and was content with just a little feeding mid week. Of course by the time my tea was ready, she was showing yellow which almost immediately resolved itself as soon as I fed with a tea made up of black strap molasses, earthworm castings, bat guano, and an organic fish fertilizer.
This may be the week she is to begin having her lights switched so that she may go into flower. She has happy healthy clones who are growing now.
11/25/2019
Switching time to 14 hours then 12 for her to begin the flowering process
Although it's late, we are hoping to get some training in.
Lesson learned, no plastic bag pots lol
Easy peasy this girl was!!
Lights got turned to 14 hours on 11/26/19
I'm confident in her readiness and am looking forward to the end result at this point.
So shes had a busy week.
1st she had her lights switched to 12/12 and then the next day she was repotted from a 3 to 10 gl pot.
The transplant shock was minimal if at all.
Once she was transplanted, we used garden twine to begin training because she was growing too tall.
Although shes not quite done shaping her canopy, she is taking form very nicely and should make a beautiful tree once she's taken shape.
I was worried about the bigger pot causing too much growth but since she can be tied down we are not expecting too much trouble.
As for the flowering, shes showing signs of change and I can already begin to see where the flower heads will appear.
I'm not sure if it's the strain or the size of her but my G.L. is 1 week younger and and although switched at same time, GL is much more compact, and shes already in preflower.
As for nutrition, it's been a "less is more " kind of week and other than the increased nitrogen I give to assist in their stretching all shes been getting is a cal/mag supplement with her water. I've kept an eye out for burn or foliar fade but she seems pretty good at the moment.
Cant wait to see and smell but to taste her would make my year..

So on 11/8/19 she began showing her head sites. I noticed that she was beginning to change on 11/2/19 but she's moved a little more slowly than the GL I have her with (she has a diary as well, check her out).
Her stretch is on high so I'm not giving her as much light distance as usual and the ties have help tremendously. Shes still leggy but a canopy.
She has the scent of a florist. Light floral aroma you find in a spring garden.
She hadn't asked for anything so I'm assuming that her organic nutes are doing their jobs.
I plan to start giving organic bud candy and big bud from advanced nutrients in the near future so I will add them in now.
Took a lot of leaves this week and that always makes me feel sad but since I cleaned her up shes began filling out and producing thrichomes. They're so unique in that the color of the leaf makes them appear yellow to then naked eye, kinda like pollen.
But the smell is surprisingly more like banana than I'd have expected. It's not strong and still mostly floral but with the after note of a fresh cut banana.
Nothing but time and patience from now on.
Thrichomes are beginning to spill off onto the bigger fan leaves resembling the Blue fruit and GG autos I've grown in the past. The only difference between these and the autos are the size of these monsters.
She smells floral at first then as you spend more time with her the hints if banana come in causing her scent to be so lovely that I'd prefer to bottle the scent and wear it over my Channel..
Love this strain already..
She is by far the lowest maintenance plant I've ever dealt with up to this point.
Other than water and her regular scheduled feedings with advanced nutrients big bud and bud candy, she was only given the teas and bloom booster that every other plant received. Not that she asked for it and probably wouldn't have had any issues with less of the supplements but not a problem from day 1.
Thrichomes are everywhere and even showing up on the bigger fan leaves.
They're about 25% cloudy 75% clear so she still has plenty of time to pack on more bud weight.
I did add a bloom booster this week so hopefully she'll fill out nicely in the next couple of weeks
Her scent has changed completely and it's actually quite shocking.
On top of the light fruit flower scent that's been lingering since the start, she now has a powerful citrus scent that is nearly over powered by a pine scent. Like a very strong pine oil with lemon.
Also, I've NEVER experienced a plant half as oily as this girl.
I grow for personal use so I don't usually need gloves when working with or next to my flowering plants but this girl has changed all of that. Shes so oily and sticky that if I dont use rubber gloves I'll end up with lots of oil on my hands just from touching the buds very lightly (i only touch when it's necessary) and they will stick to any and everything I come into contact with. Even when removing those big shade leaves, I have to clean my fiskas after if I dont want them stick closed.
Great plant and strain.
I'll be glad to try this strain for the first time when shes done.
Now that it's getting close to done I'd be super appreciative of any tips or info on properly curing my crop. I've got the drying part down but curing is a whole other problem.
As we only grew autos in the past, we rarely had a yield large enough to have time to cure and we more often than not had it finished b4 it was properly done.
After this we have 6 more to finish and so curing will be important
Thanks
1/13/20
Well here's another week down for the count..
She's just like her mom, cheap and easy to keep...
I give very small amounts of nutrients compared with other stains. She's got as many or more thrichomes as any plant I've ever grown (including gorilla glue auto and blue fruit autos) and she doesn't mind our local hot climates. If she's as potent as the 27% THC/ .01 CBD suggests then this strain will be one of my grow house regulars.
This potent smelling girl carrys a scent that is more of a citrus with a pine under note rather than the banana I've read (of course it could show up again after curing)that hits after her floral/sweet scents begin to diminish.
As of now her diet will consist of water, big bud, bud candy, and flower fuel until she has no more clear thrichomes. Once she's mostly cloudy and amber she'll get a couple of feedings with only water and bud candy followed by only water for the last few drinks b4 sending her into the dark
I'm actually quite happy that she's finishing up a little slower as I would prefer her to fill out and fatten up much more before harvest.
1/13/20 her buds are beginning to swell and "suck' her hair in.
Her hairs are at about 15% light orange and 85% white but are all beginning to curl in.
Thrichomes are surprisingly 50% clear 50% cloudy which is good.
Her SOG is developing nicely and I cant believe that it only took 3 seeds (purchased) to gain 12 plants.
Too bad I cant smoke them yet because I've run out and refuse to pay for a far lower grade product as the black market isn't exactly reliable for clean cannabis. Oh well thank goddess for cuttings because oils and edibles have been giving me a whole new way to medicate without having to worry about potency and cleanliness of the product.
Happy growing and feel free to reach out as I love to make new cannabuddies..
1/15/20
Today I made my witches brew tea
I use 1L or 4 Cups of my worm castings
1.5/2 T black strap molasses
tablespoons of sea bird guano (depending on the phase of my plants, seabird for flower and i use bat guano for veg)
4 Gallons water
And whatever organic nutrients I have laying around (today's tea had organic big bud and bud candy but only 2 teaspoons of each and 1/2 teaspoon of my bloom builder powder) or if my plants need something I'll add extra but really the main ingredient are listed above.
Put it all into a 5 gallon or bigger bucket with a big rusted nail and mix.
Then add bubble stones attached by tubes to the bubbler/air compressor and let it bubble for 24-48 hours max.
Feed to plants once a week and they will smell great and I've noticed a huge difference in the flavor of my plants now compared to the few grows we didnt feed the tea. I dont know the exact science but it's helped us get a better flavor and since we have everything already setting it up it really doesn't cost us anything extra so it's a win win.

Although I could post a new week today I decided to stay in this one because this change didn't occur over night.
Within the past 3 days she's changed quite a lot.
Once the cool front moved in and the humidity lowered, she has really changed.
Had you asked me last week who would finish first I'd have said, "gold leaf looks farther along although her breeder info suggests that she should finish a week after banana".
Well true to breeder standards, she is looking more and more like she will be able to see harvest within the 8 week that was mentioned.
That is quite surprising as my gold leaf kept ahead of her for every milestone up until now. I'm thinking that the heavy leaf content adds moisture and nutrients and so they don't begin die off as soon. Either way, this could also vary from phenotype to phenotype but it's still interesting to observe.
1/21/20
Were getting into her last few weeks of life and so I want to try and document as often as possible.
Today her thrichomes are still very much cloudy clear with small bits of amber.
Our local temps have dropped and so maybe the humidity levels will drop as well.
Shes not unhealthy in any way and also extremely green.
As we are out of stash I've been cutting as we grow and I'm excited to taste her for the first time this week as shes got a stick drying now.
I know she wont be at half potential but I'll be happy just to sample her.
Her last tea was last week so this week she gets water.
1/24. She's extremely full and getting heavy. I can't believe that she's filled in so nicely. I wasn't expecting as much as we got.
He scent is potent and sweet with a citrus finish but the stick we smoked early is the best tasting strain I've ever experienced at this time and this was BEFORE SHE WAS READY AND CURED PROPERLY !!! A very heavy high that squeezes the creative juices while eliminating pain stress and anxiety. But be warned, shes gonna be an evening smoke for me because of the potency mixed with sweet lullaby of a let down.
Very possibly could end up with one of my new favorite strains.!!
1/25/20
Very close to the finish line. I flushed today and when I checked her thrichomes I seen enough amber to know that if I dont flush soon i will regret it.
Smoked a sample I had cut and dried a while back and it was already GOOD then (without cure or even being finished) so I can only imagine how strong she truly is.
Her flavor, if cured like I hope, is the absolute best I've ever tasted in my 20 years of smoking on the regular. super smooth with a banana flavor mixed with a fruit and kush scent.
Now I watch the clock and pace like an expecting father. Shes close (like 5% amber close) but still needs a little longer from our personal preference.
Flushing with plain water as we notice shes light but she is happy and so am i.
1/29/20
She is ready for the dark with 15% amber.
Is it a coincidence that she finally smells of banana? Just as shes ripe, she smells of a fresh ripe banana and that is what I was hoping for.
I was beginning to think it wouldn't be strong or at all but it's a nice banana smell with a floral end note.
Love it!!
This strain has grown and cloned herself!!
She was just so easy and agreeable. Never did she ask for more than I offered and never did I worry about her health.
She clones super easily and handles high humidity levels like a pro.
She would have been easily 5 foot tall inside had I not cut her entire top.
This is a great plant for a sog set up because her fan leaves tend to grow more on the inside taking up less space in the grow area.
I will continue to grow this super fast, super potent, and amazingly flavorful plant for many cycles and seasons to come and since shes so fast she's a great economical plant as well.
Love the strain!!!
It's now my all time favorite for flavor/potency.
A friend of mine said she'd never experienced true, "sticky icky icky ", until she tried this strain (and it's not even cured yet)
Not one issue from the grow, needs very few nutrients and grows easily.
A great strain for high humidity areas.
Potency is as good as it gets in my book and as for the flavor, it's by far the best tasting I've tried in my 40 years but that being said, she isnt cured and I pray she doesn't lose her delicious banana flavor.
Quicker than all of my current sativa heavy hybrid autos, this girl flowered for the exact 9 weeks they suggested and even when I only veg for 3 weeks she was bigger than those autos as well.
As for clones, well lets just say that even my new butt couldn't stop her from leaving a legacy.
She had a stick break on accident, i stuck it in a cup of moist medium under the lights and she took!!
She clones so easily that although I've only cloned two others I know that she's easy.
Grow this and you wont be disappointed.
This strain changed my mind on indica and photos, I'll keep her in my grow space for many seasons and cycles to come.
I'm so glad that this girl is so agreeable and low maintenance.
From day 1 she never asked for anything more than I gave. Instead she would curl up at the fox farm veg stage nutes because she didn't enjoy the higher levels
She prefers organic but thrives on minimal attention.
We ended up cutting her top because she was so out of control with her growth and shes still the tallest I've grown to date (with her clones about to pass her up)
Thrichome production is amazing.
Shes covered like my gorilla glue and smells better.
I am expecting a extremely high potency just by looking at the thrichome covered fan leaves.
At the moment her scent is not at all banana like. It's got a very distinctive citrus scent on top of pine followed by fruit flowers.
Her calyx are swelling and her darker color is beginning to become a more bright green as the parts of her that haven't seen light are now exposed.
Her darkness diminished as she was exfoliated for one last time removing anything that was without thrichomes (and a few that did as well) .
My canna worms are gonna be happy this month
Shes actually quite hard for being on the airy side. She's not as open or airy as the breeders description suggested but she is overly dense either. Due to her heavy indica lineage she's got a very high bud to leaf ratio making her perfect for humid tropical climates or conditions.
An airy disposition actually works well for our region. Her sister gold leaf ended up with a touch of bud rot because she was too tight and dense even for our indoor grow room.
When it comes to cloning shes perfect for beginners.
She practically clones herself lol. A broken end of a branch was placed into a cup of our coir medium and within a week under the lamps she had obviously taken root.
So needless to say, its obvious by my 4 more flowering banana kush plants following her, that I love this strain.
That says a lot since I've never ever tried her before and I chose her by reading descriptions and reviews.
There's so much more I can and will add once the harvest is completed but I wanted to take a moment and give a good review and description.
The genetics deserve the compliment.
Reading the breeders description I was warned that it wasn't easy and that experienced growers should have no problem but I decided to try anyway and well apparently I got a good phenotype because she has been the least needy plant I've grown to date and so have been her clones.
Her yield isn't gonna be as big as the gold leaf but itll still be great compared with the baby autos I've grown in the past.
I'll write a full review from start to finish on the ILGM website as well as on my final entry after harvest/dry/cure but until then I felt as though this plant/strain is very under estimated and should be more popular.
Especially with a 27% thc.
Anyway, I'd recommend the Banana Kush feminized seeds. I got mine from ILGM seedbank because they have a 100% germination policy that replaces every seed of theirs that doesn't pop (I've already had 3 replaced with 5 more of each type) without any hassle.
But that's my opinion and choice as everyone has their own preferences.
They dont pay me for or even know that I'm writing this.
1/18/20
@Wicked_Stix,thanks, yes she's actually already showing thrichomes on bigger fan leaves. Her THC is supposed to be around 27% and CBD less than 1% and with an 8 week flower period I had to try this strain. I'd never heard of it b4 ordering but so far I'm glad I did
Also clones like a champ. My first time trying I got 6 clones to take in a solo cup with damp dirt under lights
Now I'm about to do s SOG with those. Wish we were neighbors, I'd give you a clone because we have more than our space will soon allow. Gotta love them photo!!
Happy growing!!
@MomnPoppaSeed, yeah she has some great trichomes for being early in flower. I have been wanting to try a banana strain and this might be the one. Can't wait to see what she does at harvest time. Best of luck finishing her up!
@Wicked_Stix,thanks. She's young still so I'm anxious to find out just how good this strain really is.
Never even heard of the name b4 getting the seeds but i feel like she will forever be a part of our grow cycles now because of her ability to clone so easily...
Thanks for checking in hope to see you back again soon.
@raptor65, thanks and I agree. I love growing too!!
It's so therapeutic to nurture and even to nurse them back to health after a problem, not to mention the reward we get in the end.
Its amazing how the best results come from those who take a little more time ok their grow
@Wicked_Stix, thanks gromie! I'm about to harvest now but I can say that the small branch I sampled from 1 week ago was already a heavy high so with the 20% amber she's showing now, shes gonna be good. And with all of the leaves left on her covered in thrichomes, she'll also make good meds.
@I_and_I, thank you and I'm hoping that she does not lose the fresh banana scent during cure.
As for potency, she's supposed to average at 25-27% THC with less than 1% CBD so I can imagine her as an evening smoke, but who knows what curing will do.
@CrankledLarkus, thanks I'm very happy with this strain and the genetics I got with her.
That's all anyone can hope for when growing their own, to get what we paid for and end up with what we wanted.
I love her thrichomes :)
@Mr_Weeds_Autos, thanks for checking her out.
I got this strain from stats and reviews, as I had never heard of her b4.
Very happy so far but cant wait to taste her. She smells quite tasty.
Happy growing friend!
@Wicked_Stix, thanks I chose this strain blindly so we shall see what she brings.
As for the titles I just try to entertain myself from time to time Haha
@Ferenc, thanks, I'm new but very new to the photos so I wanted to start my diary early. Hopefully she will be as great as the reviews I've read from others.
