Vice_1 Hello... ๐๐๐
Crystal Candy by Sweet Seeds is a predominantly indica genetic variety (๐ค๐ค๐ค), 60/40, but right now it doesn't seem very indica to me (the plants come from cuttings), starting with the thin fingers of the leaves.
That said, I can't help but praise (I will always do so) Sweet Seeds for their commitment to offering what you might call "new flavors."
The cuttings, after about 3 weeks of vegetation (24/0) during which they underwent apical pruning, were placed into flowering under HID light, the first week at 250w, the second at 400w, and the third (this current week) at 600w.
The girls have always responded excellently to any stress theyโve experienced, always bouncing back strong and vigorous.
During vegetation, I applied potassium soap and neem oil foliar (that's right, all together) twice.
At the beginning of flowering, I administered a strong dose of calcium (diatomaceous earth) and magnesium, necessary for stretching (height x 3) also because I grow in a mix of coconut fiber and expanded clay.
The nutrient solution (10 daily irrigations) will be replaced every 18 days or so.
No particular growing technique was adopted; the lower branches, shadow leaves, those that were in the way (on the flowers), and all the small flowers that wouldnโt develop as we like were removed.
Some branches were tied down to better separate the numerous buds; this is a very bushy plant, but its leaves are very well distributed, I removed very few to allow light on (almost) all the buds.
๐๐๐ If youโve made it to this point, it means you havenโt been too bored, and for that, I thank you.
Happy growing to everyone!

Comunque รจ difficile dire come รจ se cambieranno questi odori... Non vedo l'ora๐คค๐คค๐คค.

Hello everyone๐๐๐, the fourth week of flowering began, I increased the N nitrogen doses a little, added still magnesium Mg and calcium Ca, because the girls are still grown and showed a certain pallor, the smell is minimal , until two days ago nothing (apart from the smell of the lights off), but what little one feels .... OmyGod... Very good, ok, the smell of candy shop is there, everything, not I notice smells of gas stations, there is no diesel ????
However it is difficult to say how it is if these smells change ... I can't wait๐คค๐คค๐คค.
May the green help us๐๐๐

Vice_1 Hello everyone ๐๐๐,
The 9 girls are growing well, from one day to the next they started to emit a strong smell and are producing so much sticky resin. A note on the smell..... so good, yummm. The first day it was quite sweet, not cloying, and to the touch (smelling my hands) it smelled like pine. The next day and the days to come, the scent became more and more intense, really giving off that candy store vibe, deeply sweet (now some might find it cloying), but it doesnโt stop there, every day is a surprise, mostly citrus scents with mandarin standing out (my wife asked me if I had eaten a mandarin after I visited the girls), I repeat... I canโt wait ๐คค๐คค๐คค.
I increased the EC from 1.6 to 1.8, it seems to be working, I adjusted calcium and magnesium, gave a little Black Molasses, which does them a lot of good ๐ช๐ช๐ช.
I removed many leaves, all the primary ones and almost all the secondary ones. Unfortunately, during the dark hours (which happen during the day) it can happen that humidity increases a lot, but at the moment I see no signs of concern. I tied/released some branches, all still quite flexible.
Crystal Candy consumes a lot of light, it withstands 600w at just 25/28cm (with appropriate cooling of the lamp, otherwise everything fries).
At the moment I am very satisfied, the plants grown from cuttings have always shown seed-like vigor. Thank you to those who took the time to just look at the pictures๐. May the green assist us ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ๐๐ฒ

Vice_1 Hi everyone,
Crystal Candy is happy ๐,
sixth week of flowering, everything is going well, I removed a large amount of leaves and at the same time reduced the amount of nitrogen (N), first because with fewer leaves it needs less, second to change its mind in case it decides to produce new leaves, third we are getting closer to harvest day and I wouldn't want to arrive with too many green leaves.
Growing Crystal Candy is proving to be a wonderful experience, the readiness with which it responds to various stimuli is incredible.
7 of these plants have been lightly pruned, with the removal of just the meristem, the smallest part of the top, the auxins have been redistributed as I expected, the lower branches have stretched and the two new apical tops have retained some of their dominance (they have been placed around the perimeter of the tray),
the remaining 2 have been pruned more aggressively, I removed the last 2 nodes, which caused a total loss of apical dominance, all the branches have grown equally (they have been placed in the center),
the smell is becoming less sweet and more mature, slight notes of diesel have also emerged, overall itโs becoming more pleasant.
Another peculiarity of Candy is that the branches are still very flexible, strange at this point in flowering, maybe it has eaten too much nitrogen?
I remember that the cuttings come from a single mother, so the characteristics I describe refer to this unique phenotype.
Thanks to everyone who followed ๐

Vice_1 Hello everyone ๐๐๐,
the sixth week of the Candy twins is coming to an end.
I continue to be very satisfied with the girls' growth; the flowers are of normal size considering I started from cuttings.
As for feeding, I've slightly reduced the nitrogen doses, increased the phosphorus and potassium ones, added a bit of tap water (the tap water at my place has an EC of 2.0), the usual black molasses, and finally a tea made from potassium-rich fruits.
From this moment on, I will only add the fruit tea to the solution that's already in the tank for at least another week, after which I'll rinse with pure water and refill with a new solution of fruit tea and black molasses, which will be given until 2 or 3 days before the harvest.
I focus on the smell, ๐ always evolving; in my hands, initially very citrusy, after a few seconds the scent of sugar prevails strongly, a candy smell ๐๐๐, I believe this is the sweetest strain I've ever grown.
Very sticky ๐
A big hug to the whole Community ๐๐๐
Thanks for visiting ๐

Vice_1 Hello to the whole Community! ๐๐๐
The seventh week of flowering is over,
everything went smoothly, the growth has been steady.
The buds are starting to mature, getting harder and denser like a true Indica.
With a 40x Chinese lens, I can see the trichomes well, mostly still clear and shiny, many have started to show a slight cloudiness, here and there rare amber trichomes.
I've removed a few more leaves, the ones that remain are quickly fading,
I've reduced the Nitrogen intake, slightly increased phosphorus and potassium, and increased the doses of fruit tea, and finally a generous dose of liquid Calcium/Magnesium for hydroponics.
The fruit tea is extremely acidic, but after passing through the substrate, it becomes very basic.
I've slightly lowered the tops that were in the center to bring the lamp closer, to provide a bit more light to the little buds down below.
The Caramelline handle the light well, next week I might give a bit more wattage (600 to 660), I don't know if it will help, I've never tried.
Regarding humidity, the Candy sisters are doing great, where I live right now the temperature difference between day and night is 10-13 degrees, resulting in a rapid increase in humidity, in some cases reaching peaks of..... 90%....๐ฑ I know, excessive, but with two powerful fans pointed at the girls 24/7, I haven't had any problems.
Sweet Seeds says the Candy sisters mature in 8/9 weeks, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were ready in a week, the Candy, grown Hydro, grow from vegetated cuttings with a 24/0 cycle, ready to flower.
I hope in the future to have the opportunity to grow this plant from seed... maybe without pruning and with a huge central flower. ๐๐๐ ahaha I'm dreaming.
I believe I haven't forgotten anything.
That's all for now, thank you ๐ to those who followed,
the circular hug and
may the Green assist us.

Vice_1 Hello to all my growing buddies ๐๐๐,
during the ninth week, the Candy sisters have reached maturity.
As soon as I saw the trichomes with the well-formed bulb (much larger than its stem), I changed the water in the tank.
First of all, I rinsed the substrate with tap water at the correct pH; my tap water has an EC of 2.0, so it's perfect for use (unfortunately, only for this).
The water was left to sit for several days (I always keep a reserve) to let the chlorine evaporate.
I filled the tank halfway with pure water at the correct pH, EC 0.4, and halfway with fruit tea (bananas, oranges, tomatoes, apples, pears) at pH 4, EC 2.2.
All subsequent top-ups, about 4 liters a day (they're drinking little now), were done with water and black molasses at 1 ml/liter.
All liquids were poured directly into the pots so that the coconut fiber could filter out the larger particles and the little critters that I hope live there, along with the black molasses, which historically tends to clog the pipes of hydroponic systems.
One curiosity about the tea is that after a while of macerating, it started a slight fermentation due to the high sugar concentration. I added water to slow down the process but not stop it; I thought a bit of free CO2 wouldn't hurt. At this point, having reached the quantity I needed, about 25 liters, I filtered everything (twice at two-week intervals), adjusted the pH by adding only tap water (very basic...๐ด...it has all of it), and to not completely stop the fermentation, I added my beloved black molasses, and the bubbles returned cheerfully.
I had already tried the tea, without pH corrections on two *sample plants, to understand what kind of damage I was going to do, and I noticed that the pH kept rising, from 4.0 to over 8, in just a few days, hence the decision to try to stabilize it as low as possible, but certainly not too much.
The purpose of all this fuss? To clean up any residue of chemical fertilizer without starving the buds during the last, crucial week.
Visually, the result seemed good both on the test plants and on the Candy sisters; it was indeed a bit of a struggle with the pH, but fortunately, without adding chemical acids, I managed to keep it in check throughout the week.
The already pale leaves have completely lost color, showing no signs of severe deficiencies like spots, certainly very yellow but vital, despite the almost total absence of nitrogen in the substrate and in the plants themselves.
The buds have continued to grow even faster if possible; every day, new bright white hairs are sprouting, creating a halo around the already mature buds.
I expect super clean buds to smoke.
The smell has become something terrifying, my wife's nightmare; I have an excellent filtration system, but it's enough to enter the greenhouse for 10 minutes, and you come out smelling like a caramel.
In the last two days of the week, I noticed a certain smell of ammonia, not unpleasant... like well-cured cannabis in a freshly opened glass jar (you know what I'm talking about ๐) that has to do with the maturation process? I don't know, maybe some expert could tell us, but the fact is that coinciding with the smell, the precious transparent glands turned into delicious whitish balls, so closing the diary, the 36-hour fast begins, followed by the harvest.
*The two sample plants, after being tortured and tormented for over a month with a poisonous brew (a beautiful Chocolope and an exceptional unknown hybrid) decided not to report me, have regained color, are feeding regularly, and are preparing for a radical sex change.
Maybe soon on the same network.
Thanks from the bottom of my heart to those who follow ๐
a circular hug, and
may the Green assist us.
Coltivero' ancora questi cespuglietti?
Certamente,
Soddisfattissimo.
passo e chiudo.

Vice_1 I harvested exactly nine weeks from the start of flowering, a pretty good yield for the first time.
The few leaves left turned a very intense yellow-orange, soft not brittle, the part of the leaves hidden inside the buds is still green.
I believe most of the chlorophyll is gone, it seems that the brew given during the last week worked, but I'm not sure. Crystal Candy is really tasty and sheโs good with anything.
I harvested 2540 grams from slightly thirsty plants, used to 4 minutes of watering 10 times a day, left dry for about 36 hours.
Weight of the dry buds: 431 grams.
Not bad, could I have done better? Sure!
The quality of this cannabis is really high, from the appearance to the texture, I hope for a positive evolution of the smells/tastes.
As soon as I harvested, I hung the buds to dry for 4 days, after which I put them in jars for curing, still slightly humid. In the following two days, I open/close the jars several times a day for a few minutes to expel the last traces of moisture that redistributes across all the buds.
I will probably have to check the jars for another week after which the cannabis should be ready for a long curing period.......if it makes it ๐
