Day 8 - Roots coming out of bottom of netpot. Heat worries me quite a bit, but hopefully as the winter approaches the cab will get cooler.
Day 12 - crazy. tripled in size in 4 days. this is my first auto, and i'm not used to this amount of growth so early!|
That being said, my temps have been insane at 36c (96f) with my 2 mars hydro 300s on, and 22c (71f) ambient room temperature. I just ordered a Horticulture Lighting Group 260W Kit from GrowersLights.com which should fix that problem for good. I already have a 2nd cabinet up and running with one in the same room, and it stays at a perfect 25c (77f). Expensive to ship to Canada, but worth every penny. I keep it dimmed to 170w from the wall.
Day 19 - Removed both Mars 300s and replaced with 2x HLG Quantum Boards (304s) running at 85w each (170w total). That's a 100 watt savings, a 5c temp drop instantly inside the cabinet, and I'm almost certain a bigger yield.
Day 29 - Drinking about 1-2L a day of water... growing super quickly, buds sites forming, looking goooood!! hah
Day 31 - Removed SCROG net and pruned, leaving only 13 main colas. LST is easier with the strings i added to the lid of the res, and the net is kind of annoying once it no longer serves a purpose.
Day 33 - still growing about 1-1.5" a day... weeeee
Day 37 - Still growing about 1" a day, drinking about 1.5L a day.
Also, I increased the wattage of the lights (since they're a bit further now) to 100W per QB. I'll turn it back down if I notice any issues..
Day 50 - leaves showing signs of a deficiency, but not sure what it is. Feeding the same as the Ginger Punch on the right, which looks fine. I guess that's the thing with growing different strains - differences in feeding amounts! Learning as i go!
Buds are looking great! Nice and long, thickening up, and close node spacing! Hoping for a huge harvest!
Day 63 - Smells incredible. So fruity and soooooo much frosty lower nodes and leaves. The trim will be oily and abundant, so very much looking forward to making hash with it!
Day 70 - Steady as she goes. No issues that i can see - PH is fairly stable, colas are bulking up really nicely! should be ready to harvest in about a week or two.
Day 77 - Day before harvest - Trichs are 10% amber, 85% cloudy. Smells incredible, greasy as hell =)
Last couple weeks have been easy as easy can be. No PH issues whatsoever, temps around 19-20c, RH around 35-40%.
Day 78 - Harvest Day! This has been the easiest grow I've done, by far. Drank a ton of water, but overall no issues. Buds are oilyyyyy and smell insane.
I knew I would end up with quite a bit of popcorn, because of how huge the colas grew, but wasn't expecting an almost 50/50 split! I'm happy to have all of the popcorn though - plan on making a lot of oil for capsules, and other extracts. Perfect strain for this, as it's super oily and wet feeling, so hoping that translates well into edibles.
I only did a semi-trim, sort of, because there are just so many leaves and it would take me all day to trim properly. I haven't done a dry trim before, so using this as a test. Once dried, i'll go over all the buds again to get rid of anything leafy that i can.
Hoping for around 3.5oz dried! ...and a wholeeeee ton of bubble hash and oil!
I will report back soon with final weights.
Funny Story: After spending 2 hours harvesting this beaut, i was late for a hockey game so didn't have time to shower/change. Just grabbed my hockey gear and ran out the door... drove 20 mins to the rink, and was the first person there... Every single person who walked into the dressing room was like "holy fk, did you just smoke a lb of weed!?" ... apparently the whole dressing room, and the hallway leading up to the dressing room smelled like a grow-op! I never even noticed (obviously, since i just spent a couple hours immersed in it)... so ya, was quite nervous on the way home after the game - this time of year there are many random police checkpoints set up between the rink and my house to try to catch drunk drivers, and if I had run into one, the smell of pot in my car would have likely prompted a very annoying search and sobriety test hah... was a very anxious ride home! Luckily i didn't run into any checkpoints - explaining where the smell came from would have been interesting... 0
