Well, that's the end of veg! Despite the high temps here (up to 32Β°C in the tent at times) she seems to not be suffering too much.
Another under canopy prune and rearranging of tops yesterday. Today is the last day of 16 hours light. Tomorrow morning I will change the light timer to 12/12 and start with the early flowering nutrient regime.
I learnt a lot about topping and scrogging to apply to my next grow. Mostly about the plant structure, how it grows, how many colas will be produced, where the colas will be, etc.
@dianne, yes I dont flush if it's just the tips like that. I have had my leaves curl or clawed almost immediately after I gave a feeding with the fox farm nutrients so I flushed immediately and didn't suffer any burn but if it's just the tip I'd consider it to be just enough and maybe add a little water to the ratio you used last time.
Either way she is fine
Nice job. My GL is just into flower and I'm already in love with this strain (which says a lot since I had never heard of her until I ordered seeds).
U have some healthy girls there and I'll be following to learn just how well she works with this setup. I can say that by the way mine trained so evenly I can only imagine that they're going to do exceptionally well.
Keep up the awesome work and I cant wait to see her stretch.
@dianne, she did a good bit of stretching but I can honestly say that I had kinda expected more since this was my first time with photos I just didn't know what to expect.
It's really difficult to say for sure because I did keep up with the training this time so the exact amount of stretch is hard to calculate. That being said I'd estimate a good 6-8 inches since lights switched. Her growroomate is a banana kush plant who is in a 10gl pot and is 1 week older is only about 6 inches taller and wasn't nearly trained as well as GL.
From what I read, they're supposed to be a tall plant but this one is the ideal height for me at the moment.
Be prepared to take a LOT of leaves later in flower. I absolutely hated removing so many beautiful leaves but she was so lush and full that her flowers couldn't get as much light as I'd liked. After removing for 4 days (I like to take a little at a time) I ended up taking a lot and can see a huge difference in the amount of light that she's getting now.
Her smell is so pretty. Like a fruit flowe or the smell of a florist shop.
Good luck with yours and I'll keep following to see her grow into a big beautiful girl.
I always form relationships with my plants lol, and treasure the process until the end when I want them to hurry the f up so I can sample them. ROFL
@MomnPoppaSeed, Thanks! I've been watching your grow to see what I can expect with mine. Did you notice much stretch after the flip to 12/12? From what I can tell from the photos, you gained about another 6 inches of height since 12/12
A little diddy about Gold Leaf and Dianne.
Two living things in a far land.
Gold leaf was gonna be a big star.
Dianne wanted to make gold go far.
Grew into an Wet pound of some tasty greens.
Gold leaf bein rolled in Diane's knees.
Got sticky fingers from the greens. Gold Leaf he says "Hey Diane, let's run off behind a shady tree smoke me nice, quick and just chill do what you please"
Saying oh yeah The smoke goes on, long after the harvest of green is gone
Lol that was fun to write I hope it's fun to read. Nice job on the harvest, that's a good number π
Looking beautifull. U say u struggle with the SCROG training but it looks great. U Defenitly did very good things in vegative stage. Only thing I can say is the humidity should be a bit lower. Like anything between 45% and 55% is better in this stage. Especially with Temps flirting with 30Β°. And if the airflow isn't on point then, budrot is around the corner. Keep up the good work ππ
@Clutch, thanks for the kind words mate.
Regarding scrog troubles...struggle to get all the tops at the same height and distributed evenly across the net. Close, but not close enough!
Humidity...yep agree 100%. I thought I was doing the best I could (perfectly clean tent, commercial dehumidifier, plenty of air flow, multiple exhaust fans...).......and you know what? You just prompted me to check everything.
And.
Clogged carbon filter. Almost no exhaust actually getting out of the tent.
Carbon filter was brand new at the start of the grow.
Replaced the carbon filter with one from last grow. Iβll get a new one tomorrow.
Anyway, I think thatβs going to help get my humidity and temperatures down. Embarrassed lol.
So.....
Thanks for comment! You did good. π
@Youngbuds1, thanks mate! Are you changing to photoperiod and scrog? I've only ever done photoperiod and scrog. I grow this way to minimise plant numbers. But it's also very cool to see what the extra weeks of veg time do and marvel at how big they get! It takes a bit of management but you get out what you put in I guess.
Next grow, I'll germinate 2 seeds, and grow the best one to finish. I'll also top 3 or 4 times.
Thanks again.
Sheβs looking green & good!
I went back to your gsc diary- very nice btw, to try to compare. I kinda think the π₯ scrOG May be a little high- that girl has a lot of growth you could be feeding the net with
@ChefDan420, Cheers!
Yeah, the net is a little higher this grow. This grow I wanted more room under the net to prune and trim - trying to make it a little easier on this old back of mine. I'm also not really worried about how long it takes to fill the net - I'm happy to veg for 10 weeks or more. But you're right, I could have the net lower. I'll have a think about it!
Cheers again and thanks for the comment.
Back in my girls, think was Sheila- I did her to high. Did like that b/c I live in a warm climate with no ac in my ghetto grow. She did good through the warm period. Like to think π€ cuz of her long legs but I dunno.
@ChefDan420, Just checked out your Sheila grow. Nice. Pretty much exactly what I'm going for with this grow. I'll veg a couple of weeks longer than Sheila and mine is sitting under a Mars II 1600 (600W draw), I also have no aircon!
