The Northern Lights Auto seed from Amsterdam seed supply germinated on the 10 of October looking great.
Haven't started using nutrients just yet just water pH to 5.7
Northern Lights growing at an amazing pace. Will start to low-stress train (LST) at the end of the week
New nutrient formula starting this week, (Weeks 3 - 5)
3ml Cal-mag, 3ml Micro, 6ml of Bloom per gallon of water.
Weekly updates :)
Finished Low-Stress Training (LST), not sure if I should do more but the lower bud sites are looking decent so ill just play it safe.
As you can see I have a calcium deficiency, so I added more Cal-Mag and raised the pH to 5.75.
Hopefully, the new leaf growth won't get infected.
Great growth this week, I cut off a few fan leaves that were blocking the lower bud sites so should hopefully see some more growth lower down.
Mixed a new batch of nutrients, as listed above. However, I did raise the pH slightly by 0.2 so the plant could absorb more calcium.
Speaking of, the calcium deficiency has resolved with no further infections.
Lots of new lower bud sites appearing on the 34th
Wondered why my autos weren't flowering and apparently it's the genetics which is really annoying because I now have no idea when they will flower.
Grow tent got infested with flies so I gotta fix that.
To encourage her to go into flowering I switched on the bloom light but watch it do absolutely nothing.
21/11/19 First sight of bud, hopefully will turn out well
The first week of flowering, looking promising with 10 top bud sites plus the main cola. Pistils are popping up everywhere. Same nutrient schedule as last week, only watering nutrients for now to induce the flowering stage.
26/11/19 More popcorn nugs appearing under the canopy.
27/11/19 Pistils popping up everywhere
At the start of week 8, the cola's were growing pistils everywhere which is a promising sight.
I noticed a nitrogen deficiency affecting the lower fan leaves, which I suspect was caused by incorrect pH after my pH pen broke, so I brewed up a new batch of nutrients:
4ml cal/mag, 4ml Micro, & 8ml of Bloom then pH to 6.0
Start of week 9 looking decent with a bit of nutrient deficiency but some nice bud growth. pH pen broke without me knowing so I though I had the right pH but apparently not.
Had numerous attempts at trying to fix the pH but every time the deficiency just keeps spreading. Not entirely noticable under purple light but it's getting bad
Yellow leaf problem is getting worse I still don't know what to do. pH is sitting at about 5.7 - 6.
Growth seems to have slowed down as it enters week 4 of flower
Week 11 is looking promising with good growth and the resolution of the yellow leaves. However my plant may never fully recover. Transplanted it which solved the problem.
Decent growth this week as she enters week 12. Not sure when to start flushing maybe 1 or 2 weeks before harvest?? I'll post pictures of trichomes in the following weeks.
This week's a very hot one so increased temps have been stunting growth. The nutrient burn has gotten worse I need to flush with some pH balanced water in time for harvest.
Buds were sticky and firm. The end product smells nice and lights well. The high is mostly body high. Smoke is a bit rough but makes up for it in weight
Very trusty and fun strain to grow. Would 100% recommend for beginners. although not the biggest yield it was resistant to disease and deficiency. Post harvest, the buds were covered in trichomes and very dense. the second smaller plant had more airy buds and less trichomes but will be fine
