The week starts Monday, Nov-11 at germination stage. __11/11__ Soaked the two seeds overnight (14hrs) within the boiler area for warmth. Seeds have been placed on moistened paper towel on a plate and placed in a warm dark place. Covered with another plate and being monitored for moisture and humidity. __12/11__ Sprouted roots on both seeds this morning. Both were put into 3.5L pots with Coco at night. The medium was not buffered and watered using cooler room temp water from the tap. __15/11__ Both pots were moved into the tent. Setup a propagator style cover with the storage boxes used as saucers. Lights will remain on 24hr per day for first week. My grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Passive intake of air is from a closed off section of the floor where the central heating boiler sits - the intake is warm air (21degC.) and fairly dry (40% RH) during the winter months. - Mars Hydro SP250 LED light - extraction fan - ventilation fans - aquarium heater - oil heater - dehumidifier - 20L Airpots and 3.5L general pots for earlier stages - Canna Coco substrate and nutrients - pH and EC/TDS meters - Therma/Hygro meter

The week starts Monday, Nov-18 in seedling stage. Good week of growing for the seedling, with the lights on period reduced to 20hrs/day. Recording some low temps of 14degC. during lights off period - will need to use the heater soon.

The week starts Monday, Nov-25 still in seedling stage. The plant is growing really well with very short node intervals and building a strong stem. Diagnosed the current state of the fat plump droopy and wrinkled leaves as over watering. Most probably due to using 3.5L pots for seedlings. - Added a small oil heater into the tent during the lights out period due to low temps. - Added a small humidifier into the tent to increase the average humidity levels during lights on period. The heat from the lamp was keeping the humidity levels low (<~40%).

The week starts Monday, Dec-2 in vegetative stage. Leaves feel full, dry and are drooping. Maintaining a stable humidity level has been challenging and the small humidifier being used needs to be filled twice per day to keep min levels of ~40%. Watered (with nutrients) today as the top layer of the coco was getting dry. Each pot took half a litre before any excess runoff. Leaves continue to stay drooping and showing some clawing. Increased distance from light to 65cm as I fear the light may have been too intense for the seedlings.

The week starts Monday, Dec-9 in vegetative stage. Started lowering the distance from the light to 45cm (18") over the coming week. The extraction fan on its lowest setting is too strong for the current growth environment so the humidity levels have been rather low (35% -> 50%). An attempt to stop/start the fan with 30min intervals caused both temp and humidity levels to swing wildly. The environment inside the tent is now stable, albeit low temp and humidity levels since the fan has been left to run continuously. Added a large tray of water with an aquarium heater warming it to raise the humidity level inside the grow tent. And added a large hanging wet towel. Both methods helped. The plant is recovering very well and stretching in its growth. The side branches are reaching out to the light. Starting to increase the frequency of fertigation to daily as the plant seems to be sucking up water/nutrients well. Run-off was measured at EC 0.94 and pH 6.2. Topping at 5th node - start of LBH’s Famous ScrOG Tutorial. Cut the stem above the 4th node. The topping should probably have been done a few days ago but I wanted to see the plant recover first.

The week starts Monday, Dec-16 in vegetative stage. Transplanted into 20L airpots; Filled up the 20L airpots with Coco and applied a full feed watering/fertigation, before digging a hole for the plant with its entire root ball untouched. Also added half dose of CalMag as well. I'm expecting the next few waterings will be just around the middle of the plant vs. the whole pot until they grow. LST applied; Tied down 4 branches from the bottom of each plant. Used metal garden ties anchored to the holes in the airpot - works great. I don't think I've applied the topping correctly (as per LBH’s Famous ScrOG) as I now have 4 nodes and only tied down the bottom 2 nodes (i.e. 4 branches). Applied second round of topping to each of the 4 branch arms that were tied down and followed up with more LST. Lights set to 45cm distance from top of plants. Raised the trays under the pots with a downward slope for collection of run-off; Worked well on initial setup with the run-off flowing into the corner and going down the hole into a small plastic tray for collection. Fertigating daily at the start of the light cycle.

The week starts Monday, Dec-23 in vegetative stage. Installed the ScrOG net Set at 20cm from the base of the plants, being 55cm from ground. Great growth and more LST The plant is showing great growth, lots of branching and new growth sprouts. A few branches are beginning to come through the net and almost all main branches are now tied down horizontally after the two recent toppings. Applied more LST and will wait for the branches to reach the net and start tucking. Adjusting the extraction fan Auto settings The AC Infinity fan is currently only running intermittently with its current settings. This seems to impact the utilisation and effectiveness of the carbon filter in use. The desired outcome is for the fan to be running for longer periods whilst in Auto config. Lowered the High Level Humidity from 70% to 60%, and more importantly, lowered the Max Speed from 4 to 2 with the intent that a lower fan speed will result in longer periods where the extraction fan is operated to remain below threshold targets for the grow space. Plant growth continues to be strong at the end of the week. Big fan leaves near the top are beginning to look a little serrated and dark, similar to the start of this grow. This may be due to the extra CalMag being added which was the issue at the start of the grow. Will keep monitoring and half the CalMag dosage on next feed. Importantly, I have learnt nutrient mixing of the CalMag should be done prior to the Canna Coco A & B. To date I have done the opposite which may explain my earlier issues. Fertigating daily at the start of the light cycle. One more week of vegetative growth before switching to flowering although I may need to switch earlier due to the vigorous growth and considering the stretch yet to come.

The week starts Monday, Dec-30 in vegetative stage - switching the light regime to flowering. Initiate flowering stage Initiated flowering with an extended dark period prior to switching light regime - this practise is supposed to promote a faster initiation of flowering by the plant. Maintain lights off from Dec-31, 10:00 until Jan 1 - 18:45 allowing a 32hr darkness period prior to switching the light regime. Light regime is set for 12.5/11.5 on/off allowing me a better maintenance window for my living situation. Both plants are growing fast and strong, showing their genetic traits. Some shoots are going through the net already. Have started to tuck branches as they grow to fill up any gaps. Did minor defoliation on both plants near their stem base and centres over a number of days. Algae on surface Some green algae on roots/coco medium on the surface of the pot. Have defoliated some more which hopefully helps with air circulation at the area. Will monitor over the week - may need to decrease watering frequency, although they seem to be keeping up drinking. Lower humidity range whilst flowering Lowered the High Humidity setting of the extraction fan to 60% - which effectively keeps it running at least 75% of the time, and removed the humidifier. Will monitor and adjust as necessary lowering the setting to 50% in a few weeks. ----prior weeks updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-23 in vegetative stage. The week starts Monday, Jan-13 in flowering stage. The plant is growing fast, stretching long and I'm constantly tying down branches to maintain an even canopy. There's also a stronger scent of lemon already in the tent. Carried out substantial defoliation of almost all the big fan leaves and a few little stems that were not likely to make it above the canopy. Avoided defoliating the major cola branches. This encourages the plant not to waste resources on a node which is only going to produce “popcorn” buds. The plants reacted well to the defoliation and were looking good by the end of the light cycle for the day. The net is completely full and this will be the last week of applying any LST as part of the ScrOG setup. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering almost 3L per day. Lowered the average RH in the space to 50%. ----prior 4 weeks updates ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-06 in flowering stage. I would appreciate feedback on the defoliation exercise I carried out this week (see videos and pics - before/after defoliation), specifically - should I have defoliated a lot more and if so, should I consider doing that now.. wk 3 of flower?

Hi HazeyBobby Would love to have a friend with a growth like this. Amazing job mate. I think you looking really good man towards a massive harvest. I made a research for you. Defoliation at this stage. Week-3 flower. And it looks you are fine with defoliating more if you want and need to. Defoliate the plant right before switching to the flowering stage, then defoliate once again at week 3 of the flowering stage. This is what I do with photoperiod plants and I’ve gotten good results with it. I suggest you start with this if you’re not sure what to do. Week 3 & 6 defoliation – I’ve heard some grower like to move everything down 3 weeks, and avoid defoliation right at the beginning of the flowering stage. In this case the first defoliation would happen at the end of week 3 of the flowering stage, then a second defoliation end of week 6. I’ve never tried this method And Your main goal with defoliation in the flowering stage is to expose all your main buds to light and air. Exposed buds simply grow faster and fatten up faster than buds that have been hidden by leaves. Try to focus on removing the bigger fan leaves you done this already. As in veg, you should still be removing any leaves that are laying on top of each other, and focus on removing those lower leaves (only bigger fan leaves) on the plant if possible. This defoliation will decrease the chances of mold and help release energy to be put into the colas. Hope this helps and good luck.

The week starts Monday, Jan-20 still flowering away. Bud sites are beginning to take form and the ScrOG setup looks full, ready for the development of some large buds. Removed a few more leaves from above the canopy which were blocking bud sites below. Also cut small stems (with bud sites) below the canopy from both plants which were unlikely to grow strong. It's now looking clearer below the canopy. The plant is still growing fast, and stretching has finally slowed. Run-off EC has been slowly rising over the weeks but still under the feed EC - will be keeping my eyes on this. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering almost 3L per day. Maintaining an average RH in the space at 50%. ---- updates for prior 4 weeks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-13 in flowering stage. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-06 in flowering stage. The net is filling up nicely with the ScrOG process being enjoyable - just tucking branches nicely under squares once stretched enough. Lost a branch end with 3 nodes accidentally whilst tucking away so now I'm super careful. The Sativa dominant strain is stretching nicely and bends easily. Minor defoliation of lower branches and fan leaves continues daily. Light is maintained at 30cm distance from canopy. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Dec-30 in vegetative stage - switching the light regime to flowering. Initiated flowering with an extended dark period prior to switching light regime - this practice is supposed to promote a faster initiation of flowering by the plant. Did minor defoliation on both plants near their stem base and centres. Some green algae on roots/coco medium on the surface of the pot. Have defoliated some more which hopefully helps with air circulation at the area. Will monitor over the week - may need to decrease watering frequency, although they seem to be keeping up drinking. Lowered the High Humidity setting of the extraction fan to 60% - which effectively keeps it running at least 75% of the time, and removed the humidifier. Will monitor and adjust as necessary lowering the setting to 50% in a few weeks whilst flowering. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ................................. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- My grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Passive intake of air is from a closed off section of the room where the central heating boiler sits - the intake is warm air (20 degC.) and fairly dry (40% RH) during the winter months. - Mars Hydro SP250 LED light - extraction fan - AC Infinity Cloudline T6 - ventilation fans - aquarium heater - small oil heater - small dehumidifier - 20L Airpots and 3.5L general pots for seedling stage - Canna Coco substrate and nutrients - pH and EC/TDS meters - Thermo/Hygro meter

The week starts Monday Jan-27, being day 27 of flowering. Plants are looking very good and healthy, albeit some bigger buds at this stage is missing. Carried out more minor defoliation, only trimming fan leaves on one side of a bud site in alternate fashion. Strategy is to expose more bud sites to light. Leaves are getting sticky and glistening brightly. The canopy has a few branches stretching out typical of Sativa genetics. Hoping the bud sites grow bigger soon filling up the space. Feeding a high EC nutrient mix whilst monitoring run-off EC which remains below feed EC. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering just under 3L per day. Maintaining an average RH in the space at 50%. ---- updates for prior 4 weeks -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The week starts Monday, Jan-20 still flowering away. In day 32 of flowering and getting worried about the lack of bud development (see last photo on week 12). Should I be expecting more at this stage and what can I look to change? The plant looks healthy otherwise - any experienced help would be greatly appreciated

Bud development speed is going to be largely dictated by light power and not by time. Time is just a ballpark estimate seed companies give but a 1000 watt hps is going to flower quicker than a 240 watt led. Light = food for the plants and if you want them fat they need to eat. Another variable is how big your plants are. The bigger you are the more food you need to eat to grow, same for plants. This is why defoliation is so key. If there is too much plant matter then the food is spread thin to all the different parts of the plant. In short, more light will help and so will defoliation. The week ends Sunday Feb-9, being day 40 - week 6 of flowering. Plants are still looking very good and healthy, albeit buds getting bigger at this stage is slow. Some signs of nutrient toxicity are showing on lower and higher leaves. Carried out a some defoliation of upper leaves in the canopy, strategy is to expose more bud sites to light. Leaves are very sticky and glistening brightly. Changed my nutrients from Canna to GHE Flora series as bud development was not satisfactory (or I'm being impatient). Feeding a lower EC nutrient mix whilst monitoring run-off EC which remains at EC 2.5 and cannot get lower even with big flushes (with the lower EC solution of 1.6). Bud development seems 2 weeks behind my expectations. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with multiple daily fertigation at lights on and off - watering just over 3L per day. Maintaining an average RH in the space at 50%. Fertigation pH target is 6-6.2 whilst flowering. Added a small dehumidifier into the tent to help during this flowering period and changed the extraction fan to run intermittently. This has resulted in more periods of positive pressure building in the tent and scents wafting throughout the house. The inside of the tent had a film of 'something' after the use of the humidifier over several weeks in early growth - most of the area was wiped down when it was no longer needed in the grow space. After some reading it seems that hard water should never be used in a humidifier as the minerals in the water effectively stick to the surface of the space. Whilst the water here is soft, the LED light's surface has been thoroughly cleaned using a soft cloth with glass cleaner. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. The week ends Sunday Feb-16, being day 47 - week 7 of flowering. Whilst the plants are looking healthy, bud development is lacking. The buds are filling up here and there but not consistently across the canopy. The flower structures are beautiful on this Sativa dominant plant. Been flushing through with lower EC nutrient mix to maintain run-off EC in an acceptable range. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with multiple daily fertigation at lights on and off - watering just over 3L per day. Maintaining an average RH in the space at 50%. The week ends Sunday Feb-23, being day 54 - week 8 of flowering. Trichomes are still clear across the canopy and the bud structure is beautiful albeit small. The feeding program still included a high level of Nitrogen and the ratio to bloom was not high enough. The buds development is progressing albeit slowly and leaves were still showing dark green traits. Introduced a high ratio (1:4) of FloraMicro to FloraBloom - this should provide a higher supply of P & K vs. N whilst maintaining a lower EC. Stopped flushing through with lower EC nutrient mix as the plant was showing over-watering symptoms and run-off EC is now lower and stable around 2.0 Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with multiple daily fertigation at lights on and off - watering just over 3L per day. Trying to maintaining an average RH in the space at 50% but it's getting harder now with all the flowering. The week ends Sunday Mar-1, being day 61 of flowering since flipping the light. From first pistils shown, it's day 45 which is a more accurate snapshot of where the plants actually are in their maturity. The buds development is progressing albeit slowly and trichomes are still clear across the canopy with lots of frost on the sugar leaves. The buds have beautiful structure and quite fluffy. Swelling has started on some calyxes. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with single daily fertigation at lights on - watering 3L per day. Fertigation pH target is 5.9-6.2 whilst flowering. Stopped the practice of fertigating at lights off due to the springtales infestation. Need to allow at least 2-4hrs of lights on period after fertigation. The coco is not dry but still damp on the surface after 24hrs from fertigation. The week ends Sunday Mar-8, being day 68 - week 9 of flowering since flipping the lights / day 52 since from first pistils shown. The strain is expected to flower 60-70 days. Started the ripening feed phase for the plant. No other nutrients or supplements added. Also did a flush using an agent prior to starting the ripening feed schedule to clear any of the excess salts etc. Trichomes are getting cloudy now across the canopy with only a minority still clear. It will be a forced harvest next week due to travel plans - all the top buds should be ripened a lot more by next week and be well timed. The buds at the top of the plant are quite different to the buds far lower being very fluffy and much lighter green in colour. Some very nice purple leaves and buds have taken form above the canopy. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with single daily fertigation at lights on - watering 3.5L per day. Fertigation pH target is 5.9-6.3 whilst flowering. The week ends Sunday Mar-15, being day 75 - week 10 of flowering since flipping the lights / day 59 since from first pistils shown. This strain is expected to flower 60-70 days. Finished the ripening feed phase for the plant over a week. The buds at the canopy of the plant are quite different to the buds far lower being very fluffy and much lighter green in colour. Some very nice purple leaves and buds have taken form above the canopy. No longer forced to harvest due to travel plans - thanks to CoronaV. Started the final flush using a flushing agent followed by tap water only until time to harvest. Monitoring canopy trichomes on a daily basis and will harvest over two stages. Light is maintained at 30cm above the canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering 3L per day, drinking less and less - no pH adjustments - EC 0.3. The week ends Sunday Mar-22, being day 82 - week 11 of flowering since flipping the lights / day 66 since from first pistils shown. This strain is expected to flower 60-70 days. Plan is to harvest the plant in 2 stages. Harvested canopy buds on day 63 of flower (from first pistils shown). The harvest was done after the dark period. Just wonderful buds to manicure, not big but I love the shape of the flowers. They did have lots of sugar leaves, specially one leaf ones. Lower buds are now exposed to more light and hopefully ripen further over the next two weeks. The drying buds had a very strong strawberry smell after 12hrs from being hung, even though during the harvest and trimming there was no noticeable scent of weed. Even all the trimmed leaves left in a bag smelled like strawberries left out in the sun.. incredible. No need for stealth :) .. Noted light stress on canopy buds as they seem to lack scent and resin is not sticky. Though the buds are covered in resin and glisten away. Some trichomes look damaged under a magnifier for the very dry buds - rookie mistake! Sugar leaves were also quite dry on some buds (which were close to the light). Moved the light further away from the remaining canopy. Light is maintained at 35cm above the canopy, with daily fertigation at lights on - watering 2.5L per day. Maintaining an average RH in the space at or under 50% since the other plant in the grow space was completely removed. Feeding GHE Ripen for 5 days to finish the remaining buds which will be followed by a flush and water only until harvest. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. The week ends Mar-31, being day 91 - week 12 of flowering since flipping the lights / day 75 since from first pistils shown. This strain is expected to flower 60-70 days. Harvested the plant in 2 stages over a 10 day period. Lower buds got exposed to more light and definitely seem to have ripened further since the tops were harvested. Fertigation was resumed using GHE Ripen for first 5 days followed by a flush and water only (no pH adjustments) for the last 5 days. The remainder of the plant was trimmed, manicured and separated into A, B grades and trim/larf buds. The buds and sugar leaves are completely covered in resin glands - glistening away in every angle. This last harvest was done after an extended period of darkness (24hrs). Trichomes across the board looked good and ready with 70% cloudy, 10% amber and 20% clear. The water consumption definitely was slowing down in the last week. The drying buds have a very strong strawberry smell after being hung, whilst during the harvest and trimming there was no noticeable scent of weed. Really great stealth type of plant for harvesting :) Using the tent now as a drying area maintaining a higher humidity of 50-60% between 17-19*C, hopefully to extend the drying period whilst hung. Buds are placed in jars once dry to touch then managed until in the curing zone. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom. Harvested the plant in 2 stages over a 2 week period. Lower buds got exposed to more light and definitely seem to have ripened further since the tops were harvested. Fertigation was resumed using GHE Ripen for first 5 days followed by a flush and water only (no pH adjustments) for the last 8 days. The remainder of the plant was trimmed, manicured and separated into A, B grades and trim/larf buds. The buds and sugar leaves are completely covered in resin glands - glistening away in every angle. The last harvest was done after an extended period of darkness (24hrs). Trichomes across the board looked good and ready with 70% cloudy, 10% amber and 20% clear. I found the right tools make a huge difference alongside harvesting in stages (e.g. tops first then 10 days later the lower layers). I suffered the same last year with the trimming but it's been a very different experience with this crop. I've linked the two tools I use. Also think the strain itself makes a difference based on its flower structures. I wet trim all the fan leaves immediately then after 1-2 days of starting the drying process (buds hung) I do the trimming and manicuring over 1-2 days. Music always helps :) https://www.amazon.com/Hydrofarm-HGPP400C-Precision-Curved-Pruner/dp/B005449D3W (just great for initial trim) https://www.amazon.com/Chikamasa-Stainless-Scissors-Fluorine-Resin-resistant/dp/B00JSYB9I6 (a must have for final manicure) The drying buds had a very strong strawberry smell after being hung, whilst during the harvest and trimming there was no noticeable scent of weed. Really great stealth type of plant for harvesting :) Used the tent as a drying area maintaining a higher humidity of 50-60% between 17-19*C to extend the drying period whilst hung. Buds were placed in jars once dry to touch then managed until in the curing zone. Dry weight includes grade A/B buds, and excludes larf & trim (which was over 90g). There were 2 different plants grown in this crop under the one light so the yield is great for me even though bud development was problematic. This has been one of the more fun and exciting learning experiences in my life. Awesome people around with lots of great advice which help when you're struggling at a point. Thank you to all those who followed along, kept up the banter and shared their experiences. The best we can do is share our experiences ... what you do with it all depends on you. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The grow setup includes; - Secret Jardin DS120W tent (120cm x 60cm x 180cm) placed inside the bedroom.
